Sympathy is purely based on compassion, on that shared human experience of wanting to live. It is the humanity in us, that part of us that is so essential to a civilized existence, that prompts us to express/show sympathy to a fellow human in pain.
But does everyone deserves it, especially an enemy?

I am very ANGRY at VERY STUPID people praying for this woman and invoking the name of God. Nigerians, especially living in Nigeria are really BRAIN DEAD! How can any IDIOT pray for this woman? For what? This dying piece of trash knows what to do, or do you think they know not what they do and did in secret and in the open?

How many Nigerians that were killed or died as a result of this bastard IBB and his wife had a chance to say any prayers? Did Dele Giwa have a bleeping chance just to even mention the name of God before he was torn to pieces? In 1993, when this greedy evil son of the devil annulled the election in Nigeria, how many people died as a result of the resulting violence? They had no luxury of a fleeting moment of prayer! Death descended on them brutally, violently with not so much as a few minutes to even repent!

This bastards stole the nation blind, corrupted the legacy of Nigeria institutionalizing high corruption in the land and it has not been well with Nigeria since then, yet you pray? Evil now walks across the land bare naked messing up the destinies of even the innocent and unborn. To hell with the evil people praying for this devil! How many coup plotters did IBB execute? Hasn't anyone with half a brain got a clue? Had it not been for this evil, Abacha and the hordes of subsequent evil leaders, who had no better precedence, might never have happened.

IBB by the evil machinations of his government sent how many Nigerians on economic exile? These people, in a lot of cases had to leave to struggle hard in a foreign country because the same effort and labor in the land of their forefathers could not yield any dividends! Does anyone still pray this incarnate son of the devil and the evil wife that goaded him on as he decimated our future? That future then is NOW today, what can we show now?

IBB built a 50-room mansion, how many beds can a man sleep in? What is the source of the money he used to build this cursed house? Cancer is the result of the seeds he sowed years ago. He, and his seed, and anyone that lived in that house will only have to contend with the repercussion of the evil he sowed wildly, with an evil smile!

So, IBB can ferry his dying, corrupt wife to UCLA? Has anyone thought of where the money to build and maintain this highly advanced complex, train the personnel and improve that facility is coming from? Had they done what he did in Nigeria for several years, will there be any UCLA to carry the sick and cursed family members to? For your information, in case you have no clue what money built that place, well, some people's taxes run the place. That is someone's sweat, some that IBB chased out of Nigeria. May he never die a happy man or even have a chance to say his last prayers! Cursed be the man who denies the just wages of a laborer. You see why there is only a dead end for IBB and his stolen wealth? How many armed robbers were born because of the money this fool stole? The robber may be punished by death also but God will requite the life of these people from the man who so led them - directly or indirectly.

IBB stole US $12B, oil windfall money. The Niger Deltans from whose soil and ancestral home the huge billions were harvested are dying in penury till tomorrow. And you pharisees pray? Was it not Jesus who said that the pharisees will go a very long distance to make a convert and thereafter, make him twice a son of hell as themselves (Paraphrase). Why did he not ignore their ultimate actions since they made a "convert"? You evil talibans mutter a prayer for this eternally condemned family? Invoking the name of Allah for this fucking waste of trash? God punish you all! Yes, I am mad, very mad at ALL of you!

Can you see how she looks old and haggard in this picture? With all that stolen money? How much money does one person need? If you live in America/Canada/UK, etc working a normal regular job (not even a highly trained job like a Medical Doctor, Nanotechnology, Pilot, Astronaut, etc) and you make, say $60,000.00 PER YEAR, you will live comfortably, with a small family. If your wife works too, and all you make in a year is just $90K - $100K, you will be very fine. For your entire life, you may never have millions of dollars like the thieves in Nigeria and the IBBs of this world have, but you will be a happy man. You will live in peace, die in peace and even get a prayer and the goodwill of people when you pass on. But this baboon steals $12B! For one person? How much money does one person need? IBB, be ready to follow for their is no escape! May your rotten leg fall of in your sleep. No matter when death comes for you, may you never have a chance to say a prayer just like the several people you killed directly and indirectly. How about the babies who had no bleeping chance because there was no quality health care. Do you think all life is not equal before God? May the evil you have sown multiply 12 billion-fold in like you stole and visit your home with multiple plagues. MAY EVERYONE who prays for GOD on behalf of this devil have a share in the evil. This is the hour of judgment, do not obstruct the justice of the mighty One. Remember, he that seeks or attempts to stand in His way shall be completely destroyed.
Bro I feel your fire.
BusinessIs There Any Business Btw 2m – 3m, In Naija That Can Be Monitored From Abroad? by OAM4J(op): 6:38am On Nov 14, 2009
I have a fund within this range lying in one of the banks in naija, I am thinking of returning it abroad after a failed bizness in naija, but if I have a good biz in naija that I can invest it in, I will do. because I don’t need the money right now where I am. Also I know so many Nigerians in my position that will be willing to invest same, If only the idea is profitable, truthful, legal, verifiable and transparent. such that I can also easily monitor from where I am.

please any idea?

BusinessRe: Frustrations Of A Business Owner In Nigeria by OAM4J: 5:24am On Nov 14, 2009
I took time to read this thread from beginning to the end, and quite appreciate the fact that my time was not wasted. But why? Why cant we do business in Nigeria like every other places.

In 2005, I was invited by a friend to come to Nigeria and invest in Fish pond, he said so many beautiful things about it. Showed me, the feasibility, a land I can lease etc… I thank God today that I didn’t lease that land, but bought one. Built a pond and started the fish pond. 3 years down the line nothing to show for the whole investment; economy problem, bad employee, power, etc. I had to close the business. My only gain was the land appreciation. So I decided to keep the land. Only this year I heard some omo onile were thinking of selling the land, had to rush to Naija to sell the land off. I kept the money in one of the banks in Naija. Now with all this news about the banks in Naija, I am now thinking of moving my money out as soon as it matures. If my money is with me I can sleep with 2 eyes closed.

But then, should it be like this? I love my country, I wish to invest in it and help the economy, I wish to bring in more fund and invest more but now even the little I have, have to be moved out again. It’s just too bad.

Why all these negative comments about her. What crime has she committed. Will you be accusing OBJ wives for their husband's behavior.
Bin Laden is a terrorist; Does that make his children or wives terrorist too.

If you want to accuse a dying woman, state here crimes.
Sorry once there is an evil, it runs in the family. What effort did she make to correct her husband excesses, rather she contributed to it. To the best of my knowledge she is still the most flamboyant 1st lady Nigeria ever had, with her program better life for rural women or as my friend will put it better life for better people.

Even God said he will visit the iniquity of the father upon the son up to the 3rd generation, except the children repent of the evil of their fathers.

We are not the cause of her sickness, are we? Please pardon us if the pain we feel from the husband does not allow us to show as much sympathy as you expect. Do you know how many times I wish Nigeria can revert back to what it was before Babangida era?

Dying masses of Nigeria? Is this what your family members tell you so that you can send money to them?

It is this gross display of stupidity that makes it seem like anyone is against Nigerians living outside Nigeria when responding to the nonsense you put down here.

What work do you do where you are? State it here so that we can know if you are able to even make money legitimately let alone have extra to send home. Before you know it security guards and dish washers will be bragging about sending money to those they borrowed monies from while in Nigeria.

Dying masses in Nigeria indeed. I don't see any genuine hardworking Nigeria making such a stupid statement though.
Please spare me the insults, like I am an ignorant who doesn’t know what is happening. For Your Information, I come to Nigeria minimum 3 times a year, so I know what am talking about. May be you live where you don’t see all these needs or you are blind or you just decided not to look or be bothered like many of them in government.

I don’t boast or brag about what I do, but I am very happy with myself and proud of what I do for a living. And those security guards and dishwashers you mentioned are able to take care of themselves, pay their bills and have leftovers to send home. The question is how many of you in their shoes can do the same? And what contributions do you make to the economy and those in need…. oh sorry I forgot, to you they don’t exist or you are just too dumb to notice they do.

Deserves a big Amen!

Facts:
1. The money sent by Nigerians in diaspora helps support the national economy in no small measure, but more importantly, it rescues many otherwise despondent Nigerians from misery - school fees, house rent, debt settlement, etc.
2. The Nigerians who receive money from relatives abroad are in the minority, so not everyone is primarily affected or would see the need to feel gratitude. But they may be secondarily affected due to spin off effects on the economy.
3. Nigerians living abroad don't pick money on the streets. Like home-based Nigerians most of them toil to earn money and this should be appreciated.
4. Nobody has any right whatsoever to feel superior to or talk down on anybody. Diasporans who have spoken in this forum to the effect that "those at home should not expect us to come back if they don't fix that country" or "is it our fault that you can't get a visa" are getting it wrong. Most common people are concerned primarily about bread and butter issues first. Nobody is going to fix the country for you and nobody is beating the drums for you to come back. What it takes to have a good country or a bad one is elite consensus. You can be based anywhere and think of the best way to effect changes to the country if you are so inclined, or simply do what you can as you are currently doing by sending money to your relatives.
5. If care is not taken, this argument can be diversionary. The enemies of Nigerians are the power brokers and treasury looters who have taken our natural right to choose our leaders while they lock themselves in the common safe, gorging themselves and vomiting all over their shoes. The real heros are those who work hard and this includes danfo drivers, truck pushers, teachers, cleaners, and the diaspora people.
I agree with some of your points here.

The essence of this thread is not to brag but to appreciate the effort of the Diasporas, and to point out that we contribute our quota to the economy of Nigeria which means we have a stake to determine and criticize how the Country is being governed. When we complain about the country, it’s because we feel the pain too. We wish the country is better and we would not be put under much pressure to pump this entire money home to take care of the dying masses of Nigeria.

Also because we have seen a system that works here and we have seen how the government relates to the governed, when we make recommendations or criticize the government it’s not for bragging but out of concern.

Anyone that contributes to the development of Nigeria should be appreciated.

If you want special appreciation because you send money to your friends and family what type of appreciation will you show to the Nigerians who are doing their best to keep the country going from the bus conductors to the petty traders who push ahead against all odds.

It is funny that the moment the unwarranted insults by Nigerians living outside Nigeria towards Nigerians living in Nigeria were challenged so many diversions have been introduced just to avoid the core issue of unwarranted insults.
Now what is the insult here? no one is asking for 'special' appreciation, just an appreciation will do.

The issue is not wether the diaspora has a successful career/bussiness or does a menial job. The issue here is that these diasporans make a huge contribution to Nigeria economy and they should be appreciated.

Well considering the fact that Nigeria's GDP is in excess of $180 billion [and that is taking into account only the legitimate and formal aspect of the economy which actually accounts for less than 50% of the National economy] one would realize that the so called $10 billion being sent home is peanuts. I would like a comparrison with how much is being siphoned out yearly, stashed away abroad by our politicians and sent to support our struggling brothers over there. I am sure this would be well in excess of the $10 billion our diaspora folks are getting excited about. tongue
Of the $180b you quoted how much really got to the downtrodden masses of Nigeria? large bulk of the $10b were given in response to genuine and urgent needs of the people.

And for God sake you call $10b peanut!!!. huh What we are talking about is N1.5trillion. What is the annual budget of the FG?
