Italiano1: This is very interesting. I read a thread in politics section where a mod said there should be an end to ethnic hostilities and there was noise of zero tolerance bla bla. Yet since yesterday the amount of tribalistic posts in this thread has been embarrasing.

On every page, we have bigots using names such as tifnibu, yet there are allowed to continue posting with impunity. The rubbish excuse will be that we should report them, but curiously if it was other tribes doing same in a ojukwu thread the mods would have been very proactive and would have been handing bans like hot cake.

Does this new zero tolerance towards tribalism exclude some people while affecting others drastically?? SMH

nitlad: Apparently, at least two people ('seedord247' on the original thread and 'YesBosss' on this complaint thread) have reported this post by 'toothpaste' also quoted by 'kayci_d77' on page 16 of the MASSOB thread.

The number of hidden posts on that page and the subsequent page (a clear indicator that the mods were heavily present and active on the thread and that page in particular) makes it almost impossible for someone seeing that comment and page for the first like myself to believe that the Mods haven't seen that comment. Infact, it renders the usual lame defense that "we can't see it all" invalid. I am convinced the comment was intentionally left untouched. It has been there since 7:36AM yesterday!

The comment and the one quoted should be hidden and the poster sent to the gallows! It is a clear and dangerous violation of rule 10!

YesBosss: Bro, the mods are doing more harm than good to this forum. I have click a report button about that post more than 4times yesterday but was online today and the guys pics and info is still there. I dont know the man but its unfair, a guy was even boasting that he will track him down and swore to do that. You guys should continue and enjoy.

Who made that decision and what was Ethnic, Racial, Or Sectarian Politics about a news article from a mainstream news site about the same National discussion we are having till this very second? Are similar threads not on the front page as we speak? How do you justify that?

Tribalism is what you make it and the folks trying to do away with tribalism are themselves tribalists because they see too many things from their own distorted tribal lenses. It was a news article and not my personal opinion so where is the sense and wisdom in moving that thread?

My point is, the decisions that you guys make sometimes crates more harm than good, it leaves bad taste in people's mouth which alters the credibility people have for you and what you do.

I think what you are trying to do here is a good thing, but I really was not under any kind of illusion that the 2 I was talking about are ever going to tango to make things work, it's still the same official cover and circling the wagon deal.

We are all humans and we are OK in our set ways so nothing is achieved until we sit down, table and examine our differences for the benefit of all.

Talking about the 2 bigoted mods, the way the system is rigged gan is tribal and bias, I even noticed how the OP keep sidestepping the complaints against the 2 mods as if their concerns means nothing. You can not have a peaceful and respectable atmosphere in any organization where the leaders have no credibility and the workers or members have zero respect for them. This is leadership 101.

Pataki: Here are my suggestions.......

1. If you have a certain number of bans, it should automatically disqualify you from creating a thread/topic on Politics Nairaland.

2. Until you have a minimum of over 300 posts on the politics board, you should not be able or allowed to create a thread.

3. Clear out ALL denigrating old threads about tribes on this forum. When I did a Google search on: "Yorubas are", my top finds pointed me to Nairaland.

4. Biased moderating has to stop! Afam and sexkillz should forthwith cease being moderators here. They are nothing but mercenaries for the ibo propaganda on this forum. Two biased ibo moderators is a clear signal that Seun himself loves tribalism.

Like I mentioned earlier in this thread, some animals here will pour curses on igbos and igboland once an easterner criticizes fashola. Personally I've been involved in quite a few e-fights when that happens. Such people should be dealt with seriously

Katsumoto: You can't really send anyone on a long leave. It's all too easy to create new monikers. I have lost count on how many monikers Mekus has. A far more effective strategy would involve short bans, deleting posts without necessarily banning, deleting threads that are incendiary rather than promoting them to the front page. Long bans simply result in banned users creating new monikers that are not related to previous monikers.

OAM4J: Banning for long makes sense. We dont need troublemakers coming back every hour to continue giving us troubles. When they create new monikers and continue causing trouble we simply ban the new monikers forever. Its takes us few seconds to ban and remove their posts compare to the time they use in creating those monikers and making the posts.

It appears your objective is antithetic or incompatible to/with Seun's objective. You (mods) can't be suing for peace while Seun is promoting incendiary and mischievous threads to the front page. I realised this many months back and advised that promoting incendiary and inflammatory threads to the FP made no sense. Afam replied that you chaps would look into it.

Nairaland is a microcosm of Nigeria; as Nigeria is sinking, so is Nairaland.

The politics section is not kindergarten; banning anyone for more than 30 minutes is counter productive, illogical, and immature. Since you can't stop folks from registering new accounts, what is the point of unnecessarily long bans? Perhaps there is an aim of getting more registrations even if they are multiple registrations from individual users.

Obiagelli: Perfectly put. This group is resident on NL and the mods know them, the are masquerading under an innocent agenda to gather followers, the incite others with their numerous monikers and turn around to send PMs to their innocent members.

OAM4J, if I may ask, to what purpose did you create that thread seeking for caution when people like this insecured dude quoted above, clearly saw the thread you made and decided to flagrantly disregard the caution placed and opened a thread which within minutes was already filled tribal invectives against the Yoruba race? I think you are only encouraging him to keep coming back with further foolish threads.
