well, I claim I was an American and I wasn't lying. I am an American. Even though I wasn't technically Nigerian when interacting with them, but they treated everybody I saw with respect. I was in a hotel full of Ghanians and they were treated pretty nice, which is why I said, maybe Nigerians just have a way of bringing out the bad in people that are normally good.

3. Going to a mosque to preach against Muslim is an infringement of the right of association and religion of people. That is provocation at the highest level.

I thank God that she was not killed and I will keep on praying that  she will not be killed or kidnapped. She is playing with her life.

do you think her action should have invoke people from the religion of peace to want to killed her? nobody is saying what she did was right. Actually it was down right stupid, but her action should not have provoked violence especially if you are from the religion of peace.

Are muslims the only one that are provoked? Christianity is always made fun of in the US media. Jewish people are constantly made fun of. Mormons belief is made fun of constantly in the cartoon. There are countless cartoon of Jesus, Noah, etc. The animated show Simpsons have made fun of the bible countless times. The show on cartoon network called Southpark make of Jesus all the time. Do you see christians protesting against it? The one time that the show made fun of the Koran and Mohammed, Muslims threaten the life of the producer and they had to take the show off the air. There is a clear double standard in the media when it comes to religion. In 2005, the show south park had the a statue of the virgin mary defecated on the pope, in 2007, the show displayed Jesus defecated on president bush, etc.  Haba, what's so special about your religion that no one can make fun of it and why are you guys ready to kill as soon as somebody provoke you and yet you carry the banner of peace?

This is too funny. I honestly try to defend Islam as much as possible from people that make negative generalization about muslims because I have many muslims friends, but [b] I am shock by the amount of Muslims that are advocating for extreme punishment for this girl, Let me get this straight, How can Muslims claim that their religion is a religion of peace, but are quick to anger when they are being provoked. For example, how can I claim to be a peaceful person but quick to knock somebody out as soon as somebody provoke me? Anybody can claim to be peaceful, but your character is determine during times of temptation. The time when Muslims should show that they are a peaceful religion is during a situation like this not after beating the girl mercilessly and then some are saying she is lucky that this didn't take place in the north, but in the same sentence claim that they are a religion of peace? From this discussion board, I have noticed that the Muslims are generally saying that Islam is a peaceful religion untill you provoked them. I am sorry to break it you, but stop lying to yourself, if you cannot uphold what your religion is about, which is peace, when you are being provoked because of your belief, then Islam is not a peaceful religion. People that belong to a religion of peace would have prayed for the person, laugh the immaturity of the girl off,  and pray she gets help and let her go on her way and continue their prayer. Do as you say, not making empty noises about peace.

Nigerian music videos are actually PG rated. I ve seen worse with those dance hall videos and american videos.

Also, I don't know which is worse the videos or the lyrics to some of these songs. Some of these lyrics are highly sexualized

I think the reactions of the muslims are a bit extreme. sheesh, it ain't that serious. It's not like she killed anybody. So she said something bad about your religion, so what? then say something bad about christianity? I am pretty sure christians don't care. If a muslim had done this in Redeemed camp while Adeboye was speaking, I can assure you nothing would have happened. They would just escort the person out. That was all that was needed in this case. Somebody should have escorted her out and continue their praying. Expelling the girl was really unwarranted

LAGOS Aug 13 (Reuters) - The death toll from the collapse of a multi-storey building in Nigeria's capital Abuja three days ago has climbed to 23 from an initial two, the Nigerian Red Cross said on Friday.

The building, condemned as dangerous by the authorities and which was thought to be four or five floors high, tumbled down at around dawn on Wednesday in the Garki Area 11 neighbourhood of Abuja, south of the central business district.

"The rescue operation is now over. We are talking of 23 people dead and 10 injured," a Red Cross official told Reuters by telephone from Abuja, asking not to be named.

Substandard materials and disregard for building regulations mean such collapses are common in Africa's most populous nation, where infrastructure is old and poorly maintained.

Nigeria's Federal Capital Territory Minister Bala Muhammed, responsible for development in Abuja, said on Wednesday the building had been condemned by the authorities and developers had continued to add an additional floor despite the warnings.
