^^^^ In those countrries you mentioned, what's the divorce rate like? What's the % of divorce in married couples. It doesn't suffice to provide some data, watch the whole picture.
divorce rate or not, they are still rich and many nigerians will give an arm and a leg to be able to come to this countries filled with divorces. is it women empowerment causing divorces or is that now women don't have to stayed in an unhappy marriage like they used to back in the day. |
This topic is still going on. People are just repeating themselves in different ways now. But have you guys notice a correlation between women empowerment and wealthy countries. I just realized that countries such as the US, England, Germany, France, Canada, etc promote women empowerment and these countries are the richest countries on earth. Regardless of what people might say, western countries are doing something right because us from third world countries are trying any means to reach their country. I am not saying Women empowerment is the cause, but I think western countries being forward thinkers instead of behaving as if they are still in the stone age contribute to their success. Places such as Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Somalia, the continent of Africa and other places that some might label backwards refused to promote women empowerment are the poorest places of the world. These are the places where people are fleeing from. Maybe is the backward thinkers that these countries have that is making them the poorest places in the world. hmmmmmn |
lol@the boys in here sounding so angry about a random topic. Abeg, chill. Life is not that serious. I also laugh at people that can't reason intelligently without quoting bible scriptures and then quote the same line over and over again while skipping the other parts. I can see selective reasing is very popular among Nigerian men. I also find it a bit humorous that somebody claim that equality is not African. WTF? Maybe thats why African is called the dark continent or African is the least developed out of any continent. Our mentality is sad. I really hate it when people complain about the western world, yet half of the posters here are living in the western world. I am pretty sure so many nigerians are willing to give a hand and a feet to be able to come to the western world. Abeg, did the western world force you to come to their country. Why don't you take a one way ticket back to your village and I am pretty sure you wouldn't be missed. |
lol, like somebody said, if you feel like you have to submit to him, then you are in the wrong marriage. If you really love somebody whether you are a man or woman, you will bend over backwards for them and this applied for both people in the relationship. |
lol@Nigerians finding this hard to believe. Nigerians need to get off their high horse and stop believing everything you read on the news. The news is a propanganda machine. Sudan is not as bad as it is painted in the news. The place called darfur is the only place everybody know in darfur, but don't generalized what is going on in one place to the whole country. Sudan is the biggest country in Africa and what is going on in darfur do not speak for the whole country, the same way what is going on in Jos or Niger delta does not represent what is happening in the rest of Nigeria. Sudan is actually not a bad place *gasp* in contrary to what your media tells you. |
South Africa is an underated country. sa is beautiful and better looking than majority of european countries. |
I am so happy that holland did not win. How ironic would it be for holland(dutch) to win in south africa when it was the descendants of the dutch that created apartheid in south africa. They were the one that hated blacks and even up to now, Afrikaans, the language spoken by white south african is still mostly dutch. |
^^^^^ why r people still bitching about the vuvuzuelas? I was in southafrica for four weeks for the world cup and I can officially say I have fell in love with the vuvuzuelas. In the beginning, I hated them, but after a while, u begin to get used to the sound. Many of my friends asked me to bring vuvuzuelas back to the USA.This vuvuzuelas thing is a big business in south africa. The majority of fans that went to south africa have all bought those horns. Soccer would never be the same for me after this without hearing the vuvuzuelas and the crazy fans blowing them. This is the first world cup I have ever attended and it's been a blast. South Africa is amazing and Zap the haters. Everybody talks about violence, but I never felt that I was unsafe at all in south africa. This has definitely been one of the best world cup ever. The number of attendants to this world cup speak for themselves. The numbers are high and polls show that 9 out of 10 visitors gave south africa a positive rating and are willing to visit again. The only downside is that the month of june july and august are winter months in south africa and it was kinda cold, apart from that I will definitely go back to south africa and visit. |
since so many people are supporting this ban, I can't wait for FIFA to ban nigeria for the next 40yrs. |
Algerians are the most obnoxious fans I have ever met. I was at the game yesterday and I had something similar happen to me. I bought my tickets outside of the stadium for $50 and I was seating two rows away from the field(yes I was pretty damn lucky). The problem was I was sitting among all algerian fans with my american flag being waved. The fans were giving me angry looks. I was pretty damn scared of this men considering there were not that many females around where I was sitting. After the USA scored a goal, I was so excited that I began jumping up and down and the Algerian man next to me literally grab his hand put it on my shoulder and push me down into my seat with one hand(thats was how strong she was). Anyway sha, I thank God I made it out alive from yesterday game. Also, when I began screaming when the USA won. these two algerian fans were saying something in arabic and motioning for me to shut up and sit down. They look so mean and they would have probably slapped me if I was sitting close to them. Those people behave like animals. |
if you are ready to get out of the marriage then leave. If your heart is not in something anymore, nothing can force you to stay. I will advice you not to let him take ur child. I have no doubt he is probably a good man, but, he could be manipulated by family members once he arrived in Nigeria. Is there a way you can arrange something with the embassy of you country, so they can look out for him and if something goes wrong, an alert will go off. |
wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Some Nigerians need to get a Zap.i.n.g LIFE. Leave the man alone. Nigerians are looking for a scape goat instead of realizing how terrible the super eagles are. With or without a red card, Nigerians would have still lost that damn game, so please Put a S.H.U.T to the up. Him getting a red card did not stop the other players from scoring. Nigerians lost because they outplayed by a better team. I am pretty sure he regrets the red card. It was a mistake, get over it. |
honestly why are people surprised. I am proud of south africa but they are not a good soccer team, point blank. |
^^^^^^^ they blow the Vuvuzela at every game whether south africa is playing or not. Many south africans have tickets to many f the home games regardless of who is playing. |
abeg can some one translate the SA national anthem in english
There 11 official languages in Africa and majority of them are represented in the anthem Here is the full actual anthem (Xhosa) Nkosi sikelel' iAfrika God [Lord] bless Africa Maluphakanyisw' uphondo lwayo, Raise high Her glory (Zulu) Yizwa imithandazo yethu, Hear our Prayers Nkosi sikelela, thina lusapho lwayo. yawn. Fifa is not going to change the ball. ball bad or not, people are still scoring goal. |
wow, shut the hell up. I am currently in South Africa and it is not only Africans blowing the horn. Everybody is blowing that damn horn. The people of south africa are very friendly. I am with a bunch of american tourist and they are so surprised and fascinated at how friendly and generous south africans are. To me, this is one of the best world cup. |
agabaI23:AGREED, if you are in the stadium, you would barely hear it. |
lol, people are making a deal over some plastic horn that cost less than $7. I don't personally like it and being in south africa, I have experience it being blown right in my ear. It's not that serious. I don't pay attention to commentators anyway except when they are shouting when a player is about to score. It's easy for me to drown out the sound if the game really capture my attention. You don't really hear it being in the stadium anyway except if you are close to a group of people blowing it in the same section. also, there is no way to ban it. just suck it up and mute ur TV. |
stop blaming the ball. A lot of the small teams put their heart in their game and they win. The bigger teams just come and expect to win. |
The goal keeper should be slapped. He could have easily caught that. |
I am surprised at how good Ivory coast is playing. |
wow, if 62 american senators had went to the world cup Americans would be pissed and probably demanding for them to be removed. I find it hilarious that some nigerians are defending this. there are no reason why 62 senators needed to be in south africa. for what? They have a country to run. |
Honestly, this is not good news for nigerians or any africans. I don't think any Nigerians should be happy by this news. I am tired of african countries always at bottom of the barrel. |
Exactly my sentiment anytime SA's crime issue crops up. I have been living in SA for years and I feel safer here than back home in Nigeria. Can anybody tell me our crime stastistics? SA collects statistics from all police stations in the country and publish it, do we do the same in Nigeria? Moreover, there is no kidnapping here, high robbery is few and far between, ritual killings is almost non existent. I was surprised the last time I went home, so many banks are having security cubicles at their entrance because of robberies, SA banks dont have that. Recently there have been reports of robbers holding the entire Aba town hostage, you dont get that scenario here. All these are major issues in Nigeria. I wake up around 2am and set out for a trip of around 500km and get to my destination safely. Can I do that in Nigeria?Yes crime is a problem here, their government did not deny it, publish statistics and at least are trying to address it. But then no matter what, I love my country. My two cents.
I love ur post. I find it hilarious that some Nigerians are so quick to point out south Africa's crime rate when I can say boldly that Nigeria's crime rate is higher than south Africa according to my experience. I wish we had some kind of institutions in Nigeria that collect statistics from police station. I also wish we had an effective police system in Nigeria so we can actually compare the two country. Our leaders should go hide in shame. |
Travelista: wow, I can see some Nigerians settle for mediocrity. Constant light is a good indicator of a strong economy. If Nigeria, had a stronger power system, it would attract more businesses. I would change our lifestyle for the better. traffic light would work all the time, etc.Nobody wants to keep relying on generators. I was even embarrased to tell my egyptian friend that Nigeria doesn't have light 24/7. Her jaw dropped. You think not having light is something to be proud of in the 21st century? You think having police collect bribes when they are supposed to help the citizen is something I want to tell my non nigerian friends? Having lights go off in the airport is ghetto. Africans need to change their ghetto mentality. How is Nigeria going to attract tourist if there are no lights on the street. You really need to stop the hate on south africa. Appreciate a good thing when you see one. When Apartheid ended in 1994, South Africa's economy was terrible. The whites didn't hand them a good economy. Thank God for Nelson Mandela because it was up to South African to elevate themselves because they could have easily become like many other African countries, but they didn't. They have achieved a lot in a short amount of time. South Africa is the only country or one of the few that was able to change government without a civil war. The country could have easily entered a civil war. South Africa was even banned from the world cup by Fifa in the in the 1970s because of the apartheid system, but Mandela fought to host it and now is here. If the country is on the same path it is now, they will flourish. You need to stop fearing for South Africa and fear for where Nigeria would be in 20yrs. Also, this is not a black or white issue. Countries such as Kenya, Botswana, namibia, Tanzania all have black leadership and their government is run way more efficiently than Nigeria. I know it is a bitter pill to swallow, but Nigerians really need to stop their arrogance and recognized that the country has many problems. Nigerians are one of the proudest people. We make a lot of noise especially the ones in Yankeee who yell about how great Nigeria is, but have nothing to show for it. |
Honestly, I am currently in south africa and I can say south africa is beautiful. It way more developed than nigeria. Since I have been here, I haven't heard one generator sound yet and light is 24/7. There are no police on the express way asking for money and I have yet to see a pot hole. People say crime is bad here, but crime is bad everywhere. I am a female and I feel safe down here than in Nigeria. (true talk). I feel like crime rate here is exaggerated. Nigeria crime rate is probably on the same level or even higher than south africa because crime in nigeria is not reported especially with the corrupt bureaucracy that runs the government. How does anybody know what the crime rate is in Nigeria? Nobody has a way of knowing the true crime rate in Nigeria in comparison to south africa where things are run more efficiently. This is a proud moment for africa and I am proud of south africa. Anyway, I still love NIGERIA. |
I don't understand African's obsession with European coaches when I have never seen an African coach with a European team. Africans have never won the world cup with this so called European coaches and I doubt it is going to happen this year. I find it hilarious that Nigeria sacked Amodu, the guy that brought the eagles to the world cup, but hire a coach that failed to bring his own team to the world cup. Where is the swedish team?. my swedish friend was even telling me that nobody liked the coach in Sweden. He is considered thrash yet Africans are quick to pick up european unwanted coach. anyway sha, the super eagles tried. I will be fooling myself if I thought they were going to win. As a matter of fact I thought they would lose by 3-0 |
The seventh day is a Saturday therefore the sabbath day is a Saturday. There are some Christian denominations that only attend church on Sundays. For example- the seventh day Adventist are christians and observe their sabbath day seriously. They attend church on Saturday and they literally don't engage in any activities from sun down friday to sundown saturday. |
Some people are giving wrong ideas here. If you are having tooth ache then I am sorry to tell you, but you have a cavity. Once you have a cavity, take care of it before it gets worse. Go to the dentist to get a filling. if it's really bad, they will remove the teeth. This is why it's a good idea to check your teeth every six months because the dentist will be able to see the cavity and put a filling in it before it starts hurting. If you don't want to remove your teeth. Get a root canal. I had one last summer by an orthodontist. it can be painful after the root canal is done, but you will be fine. |
anyway, this is not a big deal and the stadium used will not be used in the world cup. This is what happen when you give free tickets. It attracts hoodlums. |
