The Save Nigeria Group (SNG), with the opposition parties spearheaded by Tinubu himself, frustrated Goodluck Jonathan by sponsoring protests against the Goodluck Jonathan government. The hallmark of it all was the 2012 subsidy removal protests.
Are they the only humans in Nigeria? Is everyone else in Nigeria crippled or in chains?

Soyinka has been leading protests since his prime in the 1960's. Man is in his 90s today, yet lazy Nigerian youths still want the same man to lead protests for them?

It's actually a mystery how people have been surviving in Nigeria. But then, does the north really have any right to protest?

The majority of the damage done to the economy happened under Buhari, but somehow, northerners always found a way to insult and attack anyone who dared to openly complain then. Why are they only waking up today?

For as long as ethnicism and tribalism exists, Nigeria will never find salvation. These protests will only be taken seriously when the south West joins in it. But can that ever happen?

The irony of all this is that those saying they cant vote OBI because he has a gay son abroad aren't bothered about voting a Tinubu who equally has an LGBTQ daughter.

Reason for this weird pattern is simple; Tinubu already has so much dirt on him already that his daughter being whoever she is is inconsequential. But for OBI, even after elections, there's still a desperation to find dirt on him.

Listen the LORD works in mysterious ways and one of the ways he tries to bless you is by making one person lose their money ( some form of punishment) and then he would make you find it.

However you finding can be a test and a blessing. If it’s just a bag with money in it and nothing else then it’s a blessing. But if someone’s particulars and address and phone number is in it then it is a test. However you are not expected to be a thief and neither are you expected to be stupid either. There are many greedy people in this world who you will find say for example their 10 million Naira and when you return it they will only give you 1000 Naira as reward.

So do not be stupid. What you do is this, you call the person, hypothetically speaking let’s say it’s 100 million Naira, you call the person and say listen I found your money and I can either disappear now and you end up with zero, or you can let me have 20 million as reward and I will drop 80 million. Think about what you will like to do and I will call back. Of course unless it’s a mad person, he would rather have 80 million than zero and he has no choice but to agree. This way you negotiated yourself a nice blessing out of the money you found. No karma and no spiritual repercussions.

But make sure when you want to drop the money off after you have removed your 20 million, you don’t meet the guy in person . Agree for a place for him to pick it up. Say an upscale gyms locker room and tell him the exact time to come and where to get the key of the locker then you hide somewhere and watch to make sure he comes pick up his money.

Wine (or beer or spirit) makes the heart merry!

In the right quantity, a good drink gets me excited, bubbly and I become a more interesting and cheerful person to be around. It also helps me think and strategise better, and lest I forget, it improves confidence.

In summary, good wine helps to awaken a better version of myself.

Obviously, all of the above wouldnt work for everyone. For some others, wine gives them a shitty and depressing feeling. So it's different strokes for different folks!

Cost of living plus family responsibilities will make your 400k per month feel like 30k per month.

I don't know what your plans are but if you can find a way to reduce house rent and school fees cost you might be able to save something.

My wife had a friend whose husband was on 60k per month salary in 2015, somehow he managed to save and buy land, started doing uber part time then later resigned his job and faced Uber fully and was able to save to build the house they are living in now.

He moved to Canada in 2022 and she joined him last year with their daughter.

I think their game plan was to set a target e.g buy land, build house, travel abroad, start side hustle and save as if their life depends on it to achieve that target.

Try and set goals then work on those goals as if your life depends on achieving it. It may work, it may not. Just my 2 cents.
In what kind of world does someone who earns N60k monthly buy a land and build a house? A married man at that... Even if he saves 50% of his salary, how do you build a house with N60k salary? undecided

My ever charming mom has stopped looking good like she used to eversince she joined a particular church in the early part of 2021.

Prior to that time, mom was a lover of good wears. She used to wear nice jewelries to complement her dressing. Nowadays, the story is no longer the same. She has changed completely and she is now a shadow of her former self. She would not make her hair with weavon or attachment, or wear wig or makeup like she used to do. She now uses thread to plait her hair which makes her look very unlike her and very unattractive.

When I travelled home during Christmas, I nearly wept when I saw her. From her head to her toe, she was completely off. No sense of style at all. Just regular clothes and slippers even when she is going out for an event.

What do we do? The church she joined is THE LORD'S CHOSEN. And dad says she has asked her to stop attending the church but she refused. Mom is a retired nurse and she is 62 years old. I am her last child and I and my siblings are doing everything possible to make her look good. Money is not the problem. She is just simply refused to listen to anybody.

You must be a pathetic dunce to dare insult me after regurgitating such nonsense. So because some narrow gauge rails largely from the pre-1900 era are still being used in some parts of Europe, then that automatically is an economic and business justification for Nigeria to be constructing new narrow gauge rails in 2024? Did you ask yourself what purpose those countries use those narrow gauge rails for? Or you just want to advertise your ignorance publicly because you feel a compulsion to defend anything the government does?

You must think those countries that succesfully phased out their narrow gauge rails and replaced them with standard gauge rails are foolish for doing so.
Christianity EtcRe: UK 'destiny Church' Giving Out £100 And Groceries To Members - Timi Alleges by obailala(m): 9:50pm On Jan 03, 2024
Cantonese:
Certainly the level of giving is dictated by what one has in his pocket/purse/account. Our economy is a great decider of the level of our spending or giving. That's easily verifiable.

Again, I am bold to say that Nigerians are among the biggest and confident people in the world. Infact in the eighties, there were two groups of people well respected in the UK for their abilities to give or spend...the Arabs and Nigerians.

My point has been that churches are populated by people. Again, the financial abilities of the churches defer. Added to that is that there certainly is a gulf in the financial abilities of churches in both countries. However, giving is of the mind. Again is the fact that churches are able to give on the basis of their income, basically donated by people.

So for me, whether they are "oyibo churches" or Nigerian churches, they generally have their legitimate sources of income, through which they are able to render such charity works. Those sources or income are centered on the people, who are either members of the church or others interested in helping the church financially.

OP got me agitated when he seemed to look down on churches in Nigeria.
A person doesnt need to have a million dollars before they give. Likewise, a person doesnt need to give millions before a perceptive person can tell their level of generosity. A person's generosity isn't measured just by the fiscal amount they give, rather it's measured by how much they are willing to give in relation to their worth.

You seem to be trying to paint a picture that Nigerian churches are poor, are you for real? Nigerian churches that are listed as one of the richest religious organisations in the world? ...

Can't even believe this is up for argument, it's general knowledge that most foreign churches and Christian ministries are far more generous and charitable than the Nigerian counterparts. And NO this has nothing to do with the financial strength of the churches; it's more about the willingness to give.

As the name suggests, the narrow-gauge railway is essentially distinguished by a smaller gauge width of just 750 mm. This gives it a number of advantages over railways with normal gauges (1435 mm). The narrower gauge enables tighter curves to be taken, especially in valleys and in generally difficult terrain.
I'm sorry but building narrow gauge rails in this age and era is next to nonsense. I also hear it's a single rail line, i.e. trains can move in only one direction per time.

Goodvibes007:
China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) says it has completed the laying of tracks on the Port Harcourt to Aba section of the eastern narrow gauge railway.

In a post published on X, John Zhao, an official of CCECC, announced the completion of the Port Harcourt to Aba rail line.

New year, new progress! The track laying from Port Harcourt to Aba on the Nigeria Eastern Narrow-Gauge Railway project has been completed by #CCECC,” Zhao wrote.

The announcement of the completion of the tracks was published on the CCECC’s official website on December 29, 2023.

Recently, Fidet Okhiria, the managing director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC), said track laying from Port Harcourt to Aba rail section would be ready in 15 days.

In March 2021, former President Muhammed Buhari flagged off the $3.2 billion Port Harcourt to Maiduguri narrow gauge railway reconstruction project.

Rotimi Amaechi, the former minister of transportation, said the Port Harcourt to Maiduguri rail line would connect Rivers, Abia, Imo, Enugu, Ebonyi, Anambra, Benue, Nasarawa, Plateau, Kaduna, Bauchi, Gombe, Yobe and Borno states by rail.

In April 2023, the federal government announced the commencement of the reconstruction of the eastern rail line.

The federal government had said the Port Harcourt-Enugu section was the first target in the project.

In September 2023, the federal government bemoaned the slow pace of the reconstruction.

The reconstruction of the eastern rail line as a narrow gauge rail had elicited mixed reactions, with some stakeholders arguing that the rail should have been a standard gauge.

See, when some talk about churches, they do not seem to realize that churches are populated by people. The guy talk about the church and not the people.

The Nigerian economy cannot in anyway be compared with the economies of the top countries. However that does not make Nigerians less givers than citizens of other countries. If our currency is at par with their, our giving will definitely match and surpass theirs. Let’s not abuse ours. In the face of our poor economy, Nigerians are among the biggest givers in the world.
Nigerians are generous no doubt, but I wouldn't know about Nigerians being one of the best givers in the world.

Regarding the subject, we're referring to Nigerian churches, not necessarily Nigerian individuals; the focus here is on the level of charity giving by Nigerian churches compared with non-Nigerian (mainly white populated) churches. Just to clarify something, the level of charity giving has absolutely nothing to do with the economy of the country.

I live in the UK and have attended numerous 'oyibo' and Nigerian churches. I belong to a Nigerian church family that does a decent level of charity giving to the community every single week. But I wouldn't see 'black' and call it 'white' for the sake of patriotism.... Truth is that in general, there's absolutely no ground for comparison between the level of charity giving by oyibo churches vs. Nigerian churches. The report is also similar from several friends and family in Canada. It's also ironic that in these oyibo churches, they rarely even call for members to give, as opposed to how things are in Nigerian churches abroad.

Oga reason with sense.

Money is given by people. The church is made of people like you. The church in UK your OP talked about is made up of Nigerians like you and him, who gave the money. Do not be myopic like him. People gave in the church and the money was given to those who needed it to help them enjoy their Christmas.

If your church did not do the same, then there must be similar people like you who do not give, but only expect to receive. That must you congregate with stingy people like you.

Na so e be.
You seem to be triggered by what the Timi guy said... He never said the money used for the gifts wasn't donated by humans; I wonder where you got that assumption from. Also, no one is saying some Nigerian churches don't give, but you can never compare the level of giving of Nigerian churches to some of these foreign ministries. The key point he made which is general knowledge is that Nigerian churches can do better at giving back to the poor.
