michlins:I totally agree with you on this one! The solution given by Damina sound like the most practical and realistic solution I've ever heard, not just for porn, but for any type of addiction. Those criticising him are simply being ignorant and hypocritical. Of course a lot of self professed Christians in Nigeria are nothing but just judgemental hypocrites like the pharisees of old. If you check very well, 9 out of 10 of the loudest critics are closet wankers. It is practically IMPOSSIBLE to stop an addiction overnight. Be it porn or cocaine or any drug whatsoever. The most practical way to stop an addiction is by gradually replacing it with something else which is less harmful. |
Slytiger:It's actually sad and pathetic that a lot of people defending this project (and even a large number opposed to it) are incapable of seeing the bigger picture. The disaster that this project represents has absolutely nothing to do with Landmark; it's quite sad how everyone keeps talking of Landmark! Landmark! Landmark!; which happens to just be 1 out of hundreds of massive economic assets that would be destroyed because of this 1 road that definitely would never be completed. It's bad enough that political sentiments have hindered all chances of Nigerians ever having an objective discussion about the project, but now making it about Landmark and tribe further buries every chance of ever having meaningful debates. Landmark aside, tribe aside and political sentiments aside, my take on the project is that it's an absolutely misplaced priority! The urgency to execute the project without wide consultations also stinks of sinister motives (smells like a conduit pipe to steal massive funds). Yes Nigeria needs roads and the coastal road sounds like a brilliant idea, but when economic factors and current realities are sincerely considered, a brand new coastal road should definitely not be a priority at a time when literally all existing trunk roads are in disrepair. The basic dualisation of an already existing east-west road hasn't been completed after 25 years, Lagos-Benin road is still in a sorry state, Benin-Auchi-Okene-Lokoja road dualisation is still very far from completion and a death trap even after 20 years, the list is endless; but someone thinks it's a wise decision to start building a brand new road from Lagos through the Niger Delta swamps up to Calabar? In terms of scale and complexity, the coastal road is literally like constructing an almost 700 km long bridge through swamps and rivers. How exactly can Nigeria possibly finance such a project? or perhaps it would take another 30 - 50 years to complete? |
The ICC should understand that some people are above the law. |
Thormentor: Thormentor:I'm not an apc person and have never been a tinubu fan. I only made a common sensical comment on the picture that it definitely wasn't a mistake but rather a photography concept where the focus was on the coat of arms behinds (there's something photographers call it, somethng about 'depth', I cant remember). I also showed you similar examples depicting the same concept, but it seems you're only wired to think and argue apc vs. pdp, so there's really no point continuing with this conversation...... You win!! The photographer is dumb and wack! |
emmy512:Any person with even the most basic level of intelligence can easily tell that the effect in that picture is a deliberate photography concept. But then, is common sense really common?
|
Lemos14:This is just too dumb for my liking. Its a waste of time engaging on a topic like this with someone in ur IQ level who cant separate a simple photography concept from useless politics of obi vs tinubu. |
Thormentor:So because I said the blurring of the man's face and focusing on the coat of arms is a photography concept, it automatically means "I am APC and I'm defending a random photographer that I dont even know"? Kaiii... what kind of reasoning is this? Are some of you guys even capable of articulating any other topics besides the nonsensical 'we vs they' politics? I'm guessing in your wisdom and understanding, the person who took the following photos was also a dumb amateur photographer because Osinbajo's face was blurry? Sometimes I cant help but wonder how old some of you on this forum are. Cc: Lemos14
|
Lemos14:Lol... revert back to my original post. That you think that that picture is a mistake is pure and undisputed evidence that you're clueless in the art of photography. |
Thormentor:Haha... No it wasnt sarcasm, I'll repeat it boldly, I'M NOT A PHOTOGRAPHER, but I dont have to be one to understand the concept and the art behind that picture. The blurring of his face and focusing on the coat of arms is obviously intentional; if you think it was a mistake, then the joke is actually on you. |
Thormentor:I'm not a photographer, but I can tell with a blink that the people criticising this particular photo are clueless on what photography is about. In summary, there's absolutely nothing wrong with this picture; the intended effect was nicely achieved.

Tellmeastory:Igbo is Igbo! Hebrew is Hebrew!! Can we stop all this 'attachee by fire by force' already; it's just ridiculous and speaks less of us as a people. In my view, it reeks of inferiority complex when a person or group, repeatedly tries to 'famz' or 'claim relationship' with another person or a more popular group, most especially when the other group never acknowledges this acclaimed connection. I see absolutely no necessity, no relevance and no benefits in this Igbo = Jew concept; it only brings ridicule. |
What an unfortunate event.... I think this reaction of the pastor was driven by the recent media backlash that followed the case of the woman that gave a fake/unverifiable testimony in this church... Instead of Nigerians to blast the sharer of the fake testimony, they rather blasted the pastor. Now oga pastor is trying to be careful. |
Truths9ja:Lol... Yorubas now want to start acting like Igbos ![]() |
abc115:Wonderful!!! 😁😁😄 Nigerians have really been in bondage for a long time. I wish Air Peace would add at least another flight daily and I wish Arik would return to this route. |
This doesnt sound like a reasonable idea... |
Rolings:Eric Umuofia actually cancelled his own company. |
These are just names of some abokis who run money transfer businesses. When the government is serious, they'd tell us who the real financiers are. |
Paraman:Their tenure has barely even started so there's nothing to talk about. Let's have this conversation in late 2026. Would love to hear your excuses then.... |
Paraman:"More than 85% completed," same story since the last 10-15 years no be so? N1 trillion released or N1 trillion approved? You know there's a clear difference right? Let's assume N1trillion was actually even released (though we all know its impossible), given the cost of such projects in Nigeria, that amount would barely scratch the surface; it cant even complete the section from Lagos to Ondo. What about using a portion of that trillion to complete the east-west road?... PH-Aba which shouldn't take more than 20mins literally takes over 2 hours cos of few bad portions which have been under construction by every single admin. A microscopic fraction of that N1 trillion can fix these and lots lots more. But anyway, who doesn't know that the coastal road project is just another white elephant avenue to loot money? |
Paraman:Funding, 25 years?... We cant fund the dualisation and resurfacing of an already existing road even after 25 years of trying, yet we want to go ahead and build a new 700km road from scratch on swampy terrain? |
Shantyken:Well, it's taken well over 20 years and the road still isnt 100%... If even simple things are impossible in Nigeria, you cant blame Nigerians for being pessimistic about complex things. |
Rehabilitation of east-west road hasnt been completed after 25 years yet... |
What kind of devilish hatred do these people have against Igbos? Mass illiteracy mixed with hatred and religious bigotry, and yet we wonder why Nigeria Nigeria has never moved forward since 1960?.... How can Nigeria ever make progress when these are the set of people that largely determine who rules the country. God forbid! 🤮 |
They've successfully chased Binance away from the Nigerian market but 2 weeks after, the dollar is back to N1600/N1700. If Binance P2P was truly responsible for crashing our local currency, I guess every country should have chased Binance away. |
JASONjnr:You mean the south east should build a strong thief and bandit that can match the criminality of people like Tinubu?.... Obviously thats the quality a person needs before they can be accepted as a leader in a God forsaken country like ours. |
Funny how so many people here think the Naira has truly appreciated because of the Binance ban. With the ban, some currency traders who want quick liquidity are simply trying to sell off their stock, hence the reduced price. As much as the slide in value of the Naira is artificial, this apparent recovery following the Binance ban is also artificial. |
nairalanda1:I'm sorry but OBI is clearly different and would have done a lot of things differently. Let's stop excusing Tinubu's failures by erroneously claiming others would have been equally irresponsible and clueless. For starters, OBI communicates! A good line of communication on your strategies would make a world of difference in the way the people and businesses react to your policies. Before elections, Tinubu wouldn't dare talk to anyone, grant interviews or even attend debates. He never outlined any strategy on how he intended to approach the myriad of problems, and nothing has changed after swearing in. Instead while the country is on fire he disappears to France for God knows what, and yet you think OBI would have been the same? When the pillar of a person's campaign is "it is my turn" and "na statistics we go chop?", it already speaks volumes on the person's cluelessness on how to solve the issues which everyone already knew about. OBI on the other hand clearly communicated and communicated and communicated! Yes OBI also promised to remove subsidies, but he clearly outlined that the removal would be in phases to cushion the impact on the economy (with regards inflation). OBI also outlined that any funds saved from subsidy removal would be channeled directly (no diversions whatsoever) into fixing the refineries to ensure Nigeria stopped importing petrol as quickly as possible; a clear policy outline like this makes a world of difference!! Do you know how many times Tinubu has removed and secretly reinstated subsidies? Policy jumps and cuts like that are very disastrous for business planning; reason why companies keep fleeing Nigeria. And then you said IMF and China wouldn't give us loans! Why would they give loans when they know the people at the helm are irresponsible spenders? When Tinubu first stepped into government, wasn't he granted a loan. What did he use the loan for? - To buy 460 SUVs for NASS members - To finance presidential yacht. - To pay N25000 to 15 million households (all of which never materialised but loan money disappeared) And you wonder why China wouldn't give us more loans? Is it today OBI started evangelizing on the imperativeness of using loans only for clearly productive ventures? Yet you think OBI wouldn't have done anything differently? |
I lost hope in Nigeria right after the results of the 2023 elections were revealed. If with all the glaring signs, a lot of Nigerians still felt it was okay to vote APC and Tinubu, then to a large extent, Nigerians are the problem, not Tinubu and his gang of bandits. My heartfelt sympathy to those who genuinely fought for and voted OBI but who still have to suffer for the foolishness of others. God will see you guys through! |
Vischy:The very first presidential candidate in the history of Nigeria who successfully dodged TV interviews and fled from a presidential debate. Even the NEPA bill certificate Buhari didnt completely avoid interviews and debates... Given his fear of debates, for the first time in Nigerian history, a presidential election was conducted without a single presidential debate for the candidates. Obviously his fear was justified; what was he going to say? The few appearances he made earlier were littered with incoherent gibberish - balablu, bulu bulu, bulabai!!! agbado, agbado, agbado!!! electricity and down payment for roasted corn etc. A person who believes the solution to Nigeria's security challenges was to recruit 50 million youths into the army and feed them with cassava and agbado. That's the person Nigerian intellectuals touted as 'most intelligent' and best person to lead Nigeria. |
Respite for Agbadorians! Now they have something to cite when they defend Nigeria's pathetic slide to doom. |
