The statement is coming from the minister of state for education, Prof Anthony Anwuka, a professor of education and a former vice chancellor of a university. Interesting how the media spins these reports around making it sound like this is coming from the president himself. |
felixomor:Did you just say you are talking based on facts?... What facts?... How are you sure what you saying are sacred facts?.. Because you are also an omniscient and omnipresent demi-god who knows it all and who is everywhere right? Maybe you don't know the meaning of the word 'theories' so I would replace that with the word 'possibilities' for your easy comprehension. In this situation, there are plenty possibilities and I know this because I am a smart and sensible person. There is a possibility that BOTH parties are lying or hiding something and once again, because I'm a smart person, I will not rush into believing any one side of the story until I can confirm I have heard it all. Then again, you think it is unchristian-like for me to think there are different possibilities?... You claim I am believing in conspiracy theories and that is unchristian-like?.. What sort of shallow reasoning is this?.... I'm sorry boy, I believe that in every such case, there are plenty possibilities (or possible 'theories' if you like). If you had half of the wisdom you claim to have, then you will understand the point being made that even the father denying or the mother and sister denying are not enough proof that the girl may completely be lying. I am not saying I believe the girl 100% but telling me that the mother coming out to deny her is a holy grail evidence of her lying about every single thing she said, then that's just ridiculous myopia and gullibility. I don't think it would be wise for me to continue this argument with your type whose imagination and judgement is entrapped in a tiny bubble. Good day! |
felixomor:I dont hate pastors, not at all, I am a Christian myself. I have also not said or accused the pastor of doing anything (if you can read and discern, I'm sure you should have noticed that). I'm glad you noticed that I've been spinning different possible and opposing theories on this thread, supporting the girl at some point and supporting the pastor at other points. That is because there are several possibilities and until the full story truly comes out, my mind is always open to entertain different possibilities (I am not a gullible person or a person who jumps into conclusions). What I hate and what I've been speaking about on this thread is blind followership and the kind of ridiculous gullibility people like yourself have been exhibiting on this thread. I guess my crime to you is not believing that pastors are infallible demi-gods who can do no harm. Sorry bro, I'm not like you, I am not a gullible sheep, I know pastors are humans too with blood flowing through their veins but that doesnt mean I hate pastors as you claim. I repeat that the case in question has many possibilities and I cant make any conclusions based on the information available to the public so far. |
LeSaint:The girl may be getting subtle support from some political quarters, but no notable person so far is supporting her except of course her lawyer from Keyamo chambers which she HIRED. The day she doesnt pay that lawyer is the day Keyamo chambers will pull out of the case (that's why I got confused when the pastor kept blasting Keyamo at first instead of directing the vitupetations to his accuser). Again regarding Keyamo defending the girl, there are hundreds of other Keyamos in Nigeria and the pastor can afford to bring 50 of such to the court room if need be. Keyamo has served as EFCC lawyer for a while but still hasnt been able to win any reasonable convictions and that is because he's always faced with defendants who bring 100 keyamos to court. |
slimshady1983:There are several reasons why the mother might have done what she did, and what you has said above (bolded) could be one of them. But then again, have you imagined that the poor mother may have taken that bold step just in a bid to protect her little girl from potential danger?... With the mighty influence of the pastor and with his thousands and even millions of followers praying against and some even threatening the girl publicly, everyone knows the girl is playing with fire and could certainly be burned. So you do not think the mother may just be taking that bold step to protect her stubborn daughter? |
felixomor:Men come to a market to talk to a woman and you expect people to suddenly bring out smart phones to start recording conversations of the people?... Did the story say she was arrested or whisked away by force?... okay let's assume she was force taken by force and that a scene was made when, for a market probably filled with old mamas in Sapele, you expect the old women in that locality to all have smart phones and you expect them to damn the consequences to start videoing a scuffle that doesn't concern them to show felixomor proof that some people visited the girl's mum right? Are you aware the girl in question was arrested by the police on the orders of the pastor?... but you think it is not possible for the same police (or whoever) to visit the girl's mum?.... With the hundreds of thousands of diehard followers the man has, it's not even far fetched for some overzealous supporters to go all the way to sapele (without being sent) to threaten the woman that her daughter is playing with fire and may be burned. If you don't have the common sense to understand that under such a situation, the woman in a bid to just save and protect her daughter might deny everything she knows and apologise on her daughters behalf just to save her daughter from the mighty forces she's meddling with, then I'm sorry, your case of naivety is legendary. Then you think it is impossible for a man to leave beautiful associates and follow a not beautiful razz and sexy lady?... Are you even a man to say this and are you potent?... Your own understanding of 'men' is that a man must 'follow' only his beautiful associates around him if he must 'follow' any woman?.... I'm not sure I understand the sense in this your assumption. And then again, you claim the girl was pregnant and so therefore she must have paper evidence that she was pregnant becaise she lives in Canada?.... Abeg am I even talking to an adult here? ![]() Anyway, all I can say is that you are just another ridiculously naive, gullible and probably brainwashed Nigerian 'religious' person. |
brotherly:Bros, ogboju nor fit fight money... how much the girl get?... Funny how people forget the kind of country they come from. First of all, the pastor will not even go close to any court, let alone witness box. This isnt the first time a pastor is having a case in Nigeria and this wouldn't be the last time a case against a pastor will die a natural death because pastors in Nigeria are infallible demi-gods. |
LeSaint:Seems like you totally underestimate the power, influence and cult followership the man wields compared to the girl. Seems like you also forget the kind of country you come from where the 'big men, never lose court cases. Have you ever asked yourself why our rich looters never get convicted?... I still state it again, the things the girl has submitted as evidence so far hold no weight. |
iswallker:In a legal case, those things cannot be used as substantive evidence. That's my simple point. |
LeSaint:Like I said earlier, I just have a feeling her stories are not completely true. So in that case, I would have expected some real damning evidences from her camp. That is not me saying she is lying with the evidence she's produced so far, but I believe what she's produced isnt convincing enough if tendered in a legal scenario. Pastor's camp can easily claim the pictures are photoshopped, also the immigration stamps can also easily be dismissed; the pastor travels with an entourage and everyone knows where he's travelling to. So she could have easily just travelled along to the man's different crusades. |
felixomor:When I say I don't believe a story 100%, it simply means that while some parts of the story may be true, others aren't. I would suppose this should be common sense. My heart is as clean as snow but obviously, you must be as gullible as a toddler or just simply myopic to think that what we have on this thread is convincing evidence enough to conclude she is lying 100% and that the pastor is saying the truth 100%. The pastor in question is a very powerful and influential man with a multitude of die-hard followers all around the globe. He has the influence, he has the money, he has the power, he has the followership, he has it all. Judging from the vicious attacks originating from some of his die-hard followers even online on anyone who dares to speak against the man, I don't need much more than common sense to know that the poor parents of the girl could have been threatened by some overzealous followers of the man. It's been reported recently that the poor mother of the girl was even visited by some strangers (some of them armed and possibly policemen) in her market place in Sapele sometime last week before she made her video denying her daughter's story. Now common sense tells me the mother may be making this appearance (in the church) under duress (threats) or she may just be doing so just to kill the case and protect her daughter seeing that the case actually puts the life of her daughter at risk (I could do same if she was my daughter too). Once again, my heart is as clear as snow, but I am a rational and wise person who wouldn't just jump-into quick conclusions based on some public stunts I see in the video above. Thanks |
These rogues should just get down to business and pass the bloody 2017 budget before they continue with their nonsense dance of shame. |
felixomor:When I say a story doesn't add up, it means I dont believe the story 100%. So yeah, I don't believe her story 100% and I also don't believe the other party's story 100%. |
felixomor:Her story doesnt add up... unfortunately, some of the pastor's story doesnt seem to add up too. |
LeSaint:The girl's story sounds very inconsistent and cant hold water. For starters, I dont believe it's possible for the pastor to go to her parents for any introductions as she claims; no popular pastor would be that silly. Then just taking a look at her so called press conferences, she's been a very bad actress. In this case, I would have expected her to have gathered some 'proper' evidence before even going public with her claims. Claiming that her passport has similar stamps as the pastor's, that's very watery evidence; she could have as well just stalked the pastor by travelling to wherever he went to. Also the screenshots of her video calls with the pastor, while I must confess they totally looked real (trust me when I say I have a good eye for these things), there's always still that 5% chance that the pictures were photoshopped very professionally. At the end of the day, I can almost conclude she's trying to blackmail the man to scratch some cash, but what I cant vouch for is the pastor's total innocence in this case. While I believe it is possible for there to be smoke without fire, the truth is that more often than not, when there is smoke, there is usually fire. And yeah, the allegation of the pastor being the 'registered owner' of the SUV of that Daniella actress was real, I and several others personally confirmed the name from the website then before it was removed. So yeah, the case get as e be... |
felixomor:Not so fast man... I am not making any conclusions on this case because I am way way smarter than passing judgement without getting the full gist; I am not taking any sides on this matter so kindly count me out of this your needless juvenile 'you guys are fools' game. Regarding the issue, these are my thoughts: While I believe the girl has a lot of holes in her story, I also think the pastor's defence is not too convincing. And then again, the girl's mum or dad coming to speak against the girl doesnt necessarily stand as convincing evidence to any discerning mind; the pastor in question is a very powerful man with hundreds of thousands of die hard followers. Since the matter has even been polarised to pdp vs apc matter, the man's followers are even much more. Now there's a possibility the mother could have been coerced to do what she's currently doing. With the vocal viciousness of some of the man's followers around the world (and even here on Nairaland), I wouldnt be surprised if one or 2 overzealous followers may have threatened the mum to warrant her current public outcry/denial of her daughter for the sake of peace. In fact I saw a thread on Nairaland today where it was said that the woman was visited by several strangers (some armed) in her market place in sapele a few days back prior to her making the video denying her daughter. So yeah, while I wouldnt say I believe the girl, the fact is, I dont also think I can also vouch for the pastor 100% irrespective of all these things you might think is evidence. |
felixomor:Before you call someone a fool because they don't have evidence, do you yourself have any evidence to the contrary? Cant you see you are also equally guilty of the exact same crime of 'hasty conclusions' for whixh yoi called the other giy a FOOL? |
Considering the massive allocation they receive, I can say the worst governors are: 1. Dickson of Bayelsa 2. Okowa of Delta And thwn by popular vote: 3. Ortom of Benue |
Ashleydolls:On what basis?... because he is APC I guess? |
Sometimes one doesnt even know whether disarming the Nigerian police completely can be a solution to these excesses. ![]() |
Lol... and the fight gets dirtier... dem don open Dino yansh finish... Only God knows what's coming next. ![]() |
Holatunde007:What's in the pictures that makes you think she must be wealthy? |
O bu onye awusa n'achi n'alaigbo? Words of wisdom from the prof. If only the multitude of brothers brainwashed by the ipob ideology can ask themselves this all too important question, then maybe the energy concencentrated on fighting and blaming 'others' could be focused on more productive causes. |
tuniski:Lol... bros, now I can conclude that u no sabi book! ![]() So after all my explanations on how the demand for the dollar at a particular time is the primary driving force for the value of the Naira, after all my explanations that the demand for the dollar today is over 10 times more than what it was in 1999, you still do not get it do you? You still cannot figure out why the Naira was more valuable in 1999 compared to present day?.... Kindly go back to SS1 and this time, pay more attention in economics class when the topic of demand and supply is taught. I doubt I can help you. |
This man na fine man... but seems the money bloated him so much.. ![]() |
chiomababy22:I would borrow and modify the words of Tyrion Lannister, "whatever you think is your weakness (existence of your child in this case), wear it like an armour wherever you go, and it will never be used to hurt you." In essence, never hide the existence of your child, the men would find out anyway, and would be very disappointed that you lied, and would not act like the child dont exist. So wherever you go, your child should be your first mention, a lot of Nigerian men aren't comfortable getting married to single mums; sometimes even when the men dont mind, their family becomes a stumbling block. A friend of mine just called this morning telling me his dad has bluntly refused him marrying a girl he loves all because she has a child. But then, there are a few men who wouldnt mind (minority), so in order to save yourself the heartbreak and heart ache, wear your child like an armour and you will more easily attract the right kind of men that don't mind.

tuniski:Budgeted benchmark is $42, oil price today is $52, but the oil price 3 years ago was over $100. Now I'm sure you went through elementary school?.... SO please tell us, $100 and $52, which is bigger?... Does it matter whether $52 is greater than $42?.... Is it greater than $100?... In the answer to these simple logical questions lies your intelligent answer. |
Calling for the release of Kanu is now the latest political gimmick by every politician and political aspirant. From Orji Kalu to Soludo to Utomi to Peter Obi this morning and now Rochas ![]() Abeg make dem release that guy, he's now used to the prison and comfortable in it. The longer he stays, it makes no difference anymore. |
tuniski:Lol... Quit trying broo... you keep sounding funny the more you try. You say a lot of forex was used to defend the value of the Naira under GEJ (this isn't news). But what I find weird and amusing is how you then expected the Naira value to remain the same after the nation ran out of forex to keep defending the Naira; you put the entire blame on Buhari even when you know he inherited next to nothing in the reserves to keep defending the naira. You then go ahead to talk of oil price being above benchmark?... Bro abeg save us this embarrassment, this is commonsensical. Oil was $100 before and today it is roaming between $50 - $55. It doesnt matter if the budget benchmark is $20, bottom line is that the inflow of forex into the country Nigeria is now roughly less than half of what it was previously. Regarding the exchange rate again, it dropped from N160 to roughly N220 when oil price began to crash under GEJ. It would certainly have been worse but the CBN like you said was still constantly spending huge sums to defend the Naira, hence it didnt get worse than N220. Chart below shows how the reserves dropped rapidly because the CBN/GEJ kept struggling to defend the Naira with funds from the reserves hoping that the oil price drop will reverse soon. Meanwhile oi price during this nosediving period was still averagely above $65/barrel. https://cdn.tradingeconomics.com/charts/nigeria-foreign-exchange-reserves.png?s=nigeriaforexcres&v=201701311227t&d1=20140724&d2=20150624 http://www.tradingeconomics.com/nigeria/foreign-exchange-reserves I don't dwell on empty rhetorics which is the typical mainstay of most Nigerian overnight politico-economic analysts, I prefer showing facts and verifiable figures. Of course since the oil prices refused to pick-up and with reserves dropping so low, it would have been foolish for the CBN to continue with the weekly defence of the Naira and risking a Venezuelan situation, hence the forex restrictions started which eventually tumbled the Naira to record low levels. I don't need to remind you that oil prices kept crashing after Buhari came in till it got to a bottom resistance at $28. So Yes! you can keep blaming Buhari for the major Naira crash because he unfortunately was the president at the time when the INEVITABLE worst (which NOI even warned of) eventually occurred. But then, discerning minds who give a damn about the underlying reasons behind the Naira crash (and who don't rely on half-baked politico-economic beer parlour analysis) know much better. Thanks |
tuniski:Lol... Just give up already! You keep shooting yourself on the foot even more with your arguments. So you actually know our population has increased seriously?... You also know the wage bill (both minimum wage and number of people under govt employ) has increased monumentally since 1999? Yet you want to compare notes between 1999 and 2017? Stage 1: A man earns N20k monthly, he buys a plate of food for N30, but luckily he doesn't need to buy fuel because he refines them in his backyard. He struggles to survive. Stage 2: The man suddenly begins to earn N100k, wow! but then, a plate of food rises to N100 and he also stops refining his fuel but now 'buys' it. He still struggles to survive, But at least the world sees him wearing nice clothes and eating better food. Stage 3: The man still buys food for N100 and he still buys fuel cos he can't refine anymore, and then his income drops to less than 50k. He still wants the world to see him wearing nice clothes and eat good food. If the man struggled in Stage 2, do you think he would struggle in Stage 3 or not?... Enough of this your desperation to just give this a political explanation. This is common sense economics that even a JSS1 student should be able to discern. There is no basis to compare 1999 to 2017. ...and finally, even though I don't think this is relevant, Nigeria isn't selling more oil now than in 1999; average oil production in 1999 wasn't less than 2million bpd. |
otitokoroleti:Otito, gbafuo gaa ñuo ogwu gi! I am done with you. |
