Zhirinovsky:I am not a catholic, I am only a man with reason and understanding devoid of unnecessary hate and emotions. It is the emotions of hate you are filled with that has made the simple statement by the pope too difficult for you to understand. The pope never and has never said engaging in homosexual acts is not a sin. He has only said we have no right to condemn and demonise any man because judgement should be left for God. Just the same way we all agree that we have no right to stone adulterers to death (as is advocated by sharia), we do not also have a right to stone gays to death. |
HurtgenForest:No I am not a sick man, I am just a man with reason and with some comprehension ability. Engaging in homosexuals acts is a sin and the pope never preached otherwise; the pope has only said we have no right to condemn and demonise any man because judgement should be left for God. Just the same way we all agree that we have no right to stone adulterers to death (as is advocated by sharia), we do not also have a right to stone gays to death. There is no doubt that the animosity we have for gays is 100 times more than the animosity we have for fornicators, adulterers, liars, thieves and even murderes. The pope has simply said that just the same way we do not have the right as ordinary men to judge and condemn these set of sinners (liars, adulterers etc), we do not also have the right to judge and condemn gays. It is the emotions of deep hatred and disgust we have for gays that makes a lot of people including yourself not to comprehend this simple statement by the pope. |

quid:GEJ brought facebook to Nigeria too, how could you forget that? Besides, what does that have to do with this topic? |
MirabelArode:Bla bla bla.. bleedy wailers!... You hated Buhari with an indescribable passion even before he stepped foot into aso rock and it was all due to an inseparable jonathanian sentiment. So tell that your rudderless story of 'buhari killing Igbos' to the birds... ANd yes, I am an Igbo man and I supported Buhari's emergence and I am still supporting him to deliver on his promises. For you bleedy intolerant tribalists who believe that every easterner must hate buhari and APC with a diabolic passion to prove Igboness (such senselessness), if it pains you so much that people like me exists, you can do yourself a favour by jumping in front of one of those PH to Enugu trains or you can feel free to call me yoloba as most of your brainless ilk do I have no problem with that any more. |
Lol... |
MirabelArode:The love for GEJ is the bone of contention. |
Pure Common Sense at work.... if only election loss trauma would clear from the eyes of my brothers to allow them reason critically. |
misreal: youngaz:Just to clarify, the pope did not say it is not a sin, he has only said the church would be wrong to discriminate / condemn them; that should be left for God himself. |
Horlalaykon:In both BODMAS and PEDMAS, division and multiplication belong to the same class so it doesn't matter which comes first. Same also with addition and subtraction, they both belong to the same class so it doesnt matter which comes first. @Op, BODMAS and PEDMAS or PEMDAS are basically the same thing. If you apply them correctly you get the exact same result all the time. |
Jesus is Lawd! Please in the entire SS & SE, which roads did GEJ fix exactly in those 5 booming years?... I'm sure someone would still come here and attack me for asking this question. ![]() Lalasticlala I think Fashola has to be made aware of the fantastic state of this very important federal road. www.nairaland.com/attachments/3891600_abiaa_jpeg0c4a707c27048a2d1faf3b5e677227eb |
Na lie oh!... GEJ was a saintly democrat who totally followed due process and rule of law to the letter... but Buhari is a dictator and a tyrant and a hitler. |
davodyguy:Bro, fixing a damaged oil and gas pipeline to code acceptable standards is far far more complex than what you just typed there. |
Please when will they make a device to hide pot-belly? ![]() |

NOETHNICITY:My brother the matter don tire me... sometimes I cant just understand if some of these people make all these senseless arguments for fun or whether they are actually serious. I have mentioned it for the umpteenth time to the dude, AMCOn isnt shutting down the business, rather they are only taking over ownership. But the dude keeps coming back with the very same argument like a broken record saying "govt shouldnt shutdown any private business." I cant even place wherher the dude is deaf or blind or just dull but he certainly does not sound like an illiterate. And then he goes ahead to say amcon taking over a business will scare away investors. What sort of investor comes into a climate expecting not to payback a bank loan?.... Is there any place in the world where a bank gives you a loan and leaves you alone? Nothing wen man pikin nor go see for this nairaland oo |
opendo89:The loans were not necessarily taken within that period, rather AMCOn bought over the debt from the banks on those dates. |
MeanChris:Some people are just desperate to see Dangote's name mentioned in the list of bad debtors. Sorry, dangote does not default in debt payment so his name cannot be on the list of bad debtors even in banks, let alone amcon (severe) list. |
Built2last:Nigeria na wa! I wonder why the president's wife shaking or not shaking a traditional ruler should be turned into political argument. |
maxtamazin:I'm pretty sure you are describing your generation with the bolded statement isn't it? Once again, let me remind you that a loan is a loan and it has to be repaid; stupid sentiments wouldnt stop a loan from being repaid. There is nowhere in the world where a bank gives you a loan and leaves you alone? Even though I have told you countless times that AMCON has not shutdown silverbird, I still assume that you have a functional brain in your skull, so I would mention it one more time, "AMCON is not shutting down Silverbird, they are only taking over its ownership from the Bruces." Maybe when you wake up from your stupor, you will get my point. |
maxtamazin:I can count at least 3 comments where I have mentioned it to you that Silverbird being possessed by AMCON does not mean the company is going to be shutdown. At some point, both Arik and Aero have been possessed by amcon, but they never stopped flying. Who knows, I am probably talking to an android robot (who is programmed solely to repeat the word zombie 100 times), else I wonder why you keep quoting me and stating the exact same trash continuously like a broken record. Abeg shift! |
What in earth is wrong with the government carving out cattle ranches in the territory of those who are into cattle herding?.... Attachment to land is something which cannot change in Africa and the world at large, land matters have always been the greatest bone of contention in most communal clashes. It is usual practice for government to forcefully take lands from the owners with little or no compensation; but this is usually done when the govt plans a developmental project. It would be an invitation to anarchy if the government forcefully takes over land of individuals to give to other belligerent individuals (cattle herders) who are supposed to be businessmen. Forcefully taking lands from people to give to their enemies as a means to settle conflicts is the most silly idea ever. |

bluaero:Mr, I was not trying to paint anybody as being on any corruption crusade, this issue at hand even has nothing to do with corruption; learn to comprehend simple English. I was simply pointing out that the entire issue between silverbird and AMCON has absolutely nothing to do with buhari or politics. AMCON has since served loan defaulters notices to service their loans, anyone unable to service the loan when the deadline expires would have their collateral possessed. This is standard practice all over the world, people take loans with collaterals and if you default on your loans, you lose your collateral. it is only in Nigeria a person defaults on a loan and then you see supporters alleging politics when collaterals are being possessed. Enough of these pointless sentiments. |
maxtamazin:Apparently your ignorance is self inflicted and incurable; it feels sad exchanging words with individuals who have traded their common sense for pointless sentiments. 1. AMCON bought over the bad debt from Union bank long before your most hated Buhari came to power. AMCON normally sets a deadline for the loan defaulter to pay up and the deadline was set long before your hated Buhari came to power. The deadline just expired and Ben Bruce himself isn't lamenting foul play, only emotionally confused dull supporters are. Once again, get it into your skull that the issue between Ben Bruce vs Union Bank/AMCON has absolutely nothing to do with Buhari or APC. 2. All major businesses worldwide survive on loans and even a child knows that, Dangote even recently secured a massive loan of up to $10billion to set up one of the world's biggest refineries. Even an infant knows that collecting a loan isn't a problem, but defaulting in loan repayment is not accepted anywhere in the world (except in the confused world of emotionally sentimental wrecks). As you rightly said, every serious government must step in to prevent private businesses (especially the ones employing a lot of people like this) from going down; that was the reason the government set up AMCON in the first place to buy off bad loans that were about to crash several banks and also crash the business. Buying off those bad loans gave the business owners more time to sort out the repayment of their loans. I doubt the common man like you and me can ever get that gentle treatment. And finally, AMCON is taking possession of the business does not mean the business is being shutdown by government or AMCON; if there were 1000 persons working in that organisation, the 1000 people still get to keep their jobs because the business is still very much functional. Apparently this is the simple bit of info which your sentimental mind is incapable of assimilating. |
The insecurity and lawlessness in Nigeria is monumental. Sadly, for some ethno-political reasons, you will still see some normal comfortable humans supporting these alleged marauders. |
sarutobie:Likewise, the last thing I want to do on such a beautiful saturday morning is exchange words with an adult whose sad emotions has deflated his ability to reason; throwing about early morning childish tantrums is now viewed as objectivity in your world. Have a nice day! |
sarutobie:Bla bla bla bullcrap... The cancer of corruption in Nigeria has eaten very deep, it cannot be cleared even in a decades; we arent in a kiddies cartoon where you expect things to happen miraculously, wake up from your deep slumber boy. But that it is difficult and requires time, that is not a reason why no single attempt should be made, whether he is a civilian or ex-mil. Hypocrisy indeed!... you should rather detest your ignorance. |
MasterofNL:Biko what is the subject that needs addressing?... I didnt know the thread was a qyestion. |
Nigeria is a fantastically corrupt country filled with fantastically corrupt people. The Nigerian military (especially the Army) is a cesspit of corruption and buhari being the president cannot automatically change that. The only thing I like to believe is different now is that we wouldnt any more just wake up one morning and hear that $2.1billion budgeted for arms has been pocketed carelessly and fearlessly and confidently by individuals simply because they are friends of the govt. That is not to say the thieves wouldnt try, but if they do and are caught, they would be dealt with and not given a pat on the back. |
SeverusSnape:Nigeria is a fantastically corrupt country filled with corrupt people. The Nigerian military (especially the Army) is a cesspit of corruption. That Buhari is now the president does not mean corruption or corrupt people will automatically dissappear, we're in reality and not some infant cartoon or movie. The only difference experienced now is that we would no longer have cases of $2.1billion budgeted for arms being pocketed carelessly and fearlessly and confidently by individuals simply because they are friends of the govt. That is not to say the thieves wouldnt try, but if they do and are caught, they would be dealt with and not given a pat on the back. Lest I forget, Buhari is not a criminal, deal with it. |
