mikolo80:My point is simple, are there not at least over 10,000 Nigerians with far more than that amount sitting in their bank accounts?... What about the big private businesses, state governments, private corporations, LGs, past and present political leaders etc, are we saying all Nigerians are poor an we can't get people who can raise a mere $300k to replicate what the woman is doing and thereby create more jobs for other Nigerians (who cant afford to raise that amount)? |
emmykk:The simple point is, dont we have at least 10,000 Nigerians who are richer than her? |
Bollinger:This doesnt change or invalidate my earlier post. I see no reason why more Nigerians, including state and LGs, private enterprises, our multitude of rich men buying luxury cars and planes and yachts etc cant go into farming. When I say more people should go into farming, I'm not automatically referring to only poor people. |
The bowing out of a controversy-less police IG. The last controversy-less IG was MD Abubakar. |
Pamelayoung:There is absolutely no hypocrisy about this. Oh yes Nigeria has farmers doing this but we need thousands, if not millions of more people doing this. And yes, this is definitely news worthy because the person involved is a Harvard product, a non-Nigerian and a white woman; this is glaringly a different case so I see no reason why you regard this reportage as hypocrisy. Regarding the ability of Nigerians buying large hectares, are you trying to suggest that we have absolutely no Nigerians who can buy large hectares? ... why is it that whenever the topic of 'Nigerians not involved in farming' is discussed, some people only begin to see it as an advise to poor unemployed graduates? Besides the plethora of rich people in Nigeria who can equally afford these lands, the fact is that land for farming doesnt even necessarily need to be bought. |
emmykk:Sometimes I just cant help but wonder how old some of you are. So because of a flimsy accusation, you expect her to just jump on the plane and start going to the US to satisfy what or who exactly?. .. Even if she is a mega fraudster and she goes to the US with her husband being the president, it is obvious some of you kids aren't aware she would be diplomatically insulated from any harassment. |
Etinosajay:Dont we have Nigerian rich enough to acquire these lands?.... That is exactly what I'm talking about, Nigeria isnt made up of only poor unemployed graduates who cant organise lands for farming. Besides acquiring the land, there's also an option of hiring a massive expanse of land at a much cheaper rate. |
HandOfChukwu:This is purely paranoia and xenophobia taken too far... Didn't she pay for the land like any one else?... Why should lands not be sold to her at all because she's a non-Nigerian? I suppose you also harbour the same feelings towards every single foreign owned business in Nigeria, from manufacturing to retail outlets to even oil companies?... Foreigners should not be allowed to own properties in Nigeria because something distasteful happened in Zulu land; very wonderful idea you have there! ![]() |
Pamelayoung:What sort of reasoning is this?... Are you sure you know the meaning of the word 'hypocrite' which you just used now?.... How is it your business what she intends to use her tomatoes for?.... and how do you expect 1 tomato farmer to bridge the tomato supply gap in the entire country?.. |
JayJustus:This very same tribalism exists in the white collar job sector; so that's not really a good enough reason. |
landinfo: Gshun:You don't necessarily need to 'own' the land before you can farm on it. Also, I believe we have 'big men' who can actually afford to buy the land if they wanted to buy it outright. |
HandOfChukwu:Even if it means feeding you, employing you and boosting our economy in general? |
gare:lol... It's been quite amusing since morning watching you wailers foam in the mouth like kids deprived of akara balls. You obviously feel the wife of the president is so jobless to start responding to daft allegations from a drunk kpomo-cutting governor?... and then you now think the wife of the president should leave whatever she's doing to fly to the US just to prove to confused emotional wrecks that she is not Aisha the 'daughter' of buhari? ![]() |
Can someone please tell me why more Nigerians can't do this?.. Oh i forgot, we're all waiting for oil money from ND. And even when the ND oil money isn't forthcoming, we all have Buhari to blame. |
The daughter of Buhari named 'Aisha' must be found and prosecuted. |
Of course, the daughter of Buhari named Aisha must be found and prosecuted. |
Achuwa1:Lol... The kind of reasoning some of you guys churn out is amusing. Aisha Buhari is obviously so jobless that she should just board a plane and start flying to the US for what reason exactly?.. to prove to some directionless emotional wailers that she is not the 'daughter of Buhari' who was involved in some 419 scam?... You must really think so much about yourselves to assume your opinion matters. ![]() |
LadyExcellency:Well I'm sorry, she's not going to respond to you, there's no way she can respond to any and every single frivolous distraction thrown at her by over 50 million enemies. If you so desperately need a response, several people here have posted credible links to several reports which prove that the culprit arrested and investigated in the US, who claims to be Buhari's daughter, has no semblance with the Buhari's residing in Aso Rock. Thanks! |
aloeman15:It has since been clarified that the culprit (who claims to be Buhari's daughter by the way) is not in anyway related to Buhari. THe Buhari name used by the culprit was just a catchy name used to hoodwink unsuspecting magas and mugus just as is common in most 419 scams where the conman uses the name of a notable figure; there are several reports to this effect and this issue has since been thrashed and trashed. So if in your wildest dreams, you expect Buhari to start responding to every frivolous baseless allegations which can easily be disproved by an SS1 teenager, then you must be a very heavy sleeper. |
360frolic:www.nairaland.com/attachments/3866824_c_png8254a4657f68510fb01fac469b5a9b42 On the contrary, it is criminals (not Nigerians) who are living in constant fear. |
LadyExcellency:...and you think the Buharis don't have anything better to do with their lives than to come and start responding to some frivolous allegations from a drunkard Fayose?... An allegation which can be evidentially disproved even by an SS1 student?... You guys must really feel so good about yourselves and feel your every allegation deserves a response. Fayose would be so so ignored that he would begin to doubt his very own existence ![]() |
Abeymills:Which God exactly are you talking about here?... The God that detests people bearing false witness or another bronze god somewhere? Do you really think Fayose doesn't know what he said is a lie which is only meant to simply agitate and excite the multitude of dull people we have in Nigeria? |
Where is Delta state in all these? |
Chigold101:A major point of correction, Mr Peter Obi is the one who fixed the Onitsha bridge head road (even though it was a federal road); Mr Peter Obi is the one who restored sanity to Onitsha and not Jonathan. http://thenationonlineng.net/obi-shuts-onitsha-bridge-head-markets/ That Mr Peter Obi did this during the reign of GEJ does not necessarily mean GEJ has any hand in it. As a matter of fact, the N43.8 billion being refunded to Anambra state recently by the current FG is part of the funds spent by Mr Peter Obi to fix those federal roads. So if we must be honest with ourselves, if Peter Obi fixed federal roads with state funds and he was refunded by Buhari, then we can as well say Buhari fixed the Onitsha bridge head road and several others. Kindly tell me if I'm wrong with the above; I know this would be very painful to admit for most GEJ lovers/Buhari haters ![]() |
Oksman: You welcome bro... I just wanted to point out that all Nigerian leaders are the same, tyrants!! even though some flex the muscles more than others while some others smile (harmlessly) when they do theirs. And yeah, they all do have the rights and legal backing to do most of these things. But at the end, we are humans, so we typically see/hear only what we want to see/hear. |
Oksman:YES - the EFCC has the absolute right to freeze any account they deem to be harbouring fraudulent funds Secondly, this is not the first time EFCC is freezing an account in over 15 years; even under the amiable GEJ who never bothered to fight corruption, the epileptic EFCC then froze the account of Admiral Murtala Nyako the governor of Adamawa. They also went ahead to freeze the bank accounts of the entire state, this happened when GEJ was trying to boot out Nyako for his hard opposition and guess what?.. Nyako was eventually removed by the smiling amiable tyrant GEJ (as you guys like to label PMB lately). http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/163236-efcc-froze-adamawas-account.html I hope this answers your question?.. and by the way, you should already know Buhari too well that he is not in the business of responding to frivolous allegations from drunkards like Fayose. |
Oshokomole ![]() Sometimes I can't help but wonder the difference between this man's reasoning prowess and that of the vulcaniser who lived at the end of my street. This guy is a governor and one would have expected him to reason better, na wa oo! Meanwhile, Buhari's daughter named Aisha must be arrested. |
ofeoil:Government is a continuum, most GEJ projects were a continuation of what he inherited. When it involves a transition of power from one party to a different party, continuity is usually a problem because the new government usually wants to start new projects which they can call their own project and this usually leads to a multitude of abandoned projects across the landscape. The main reason behind this retrogressive trend is the pathetic mentality of claiming that projects are GEJ projects; probably you expect the new government to abandon the projects and start new ones before you appreciate that the government is working. Thank God we now for once, have a reasonable government which doesn't exhibit this pathetic Nigerian mentality; Fashola has made it clear that his priority is to complete old incomplete and abandoned projects before he starts thinking of any new ones... Now while the hundreds of old abandoned projects are being completed, feel free to tell yourself that the government isn't working, obviously in your own wisdom, a working government is one which abandons old projects and starts new ones. |
FemiFimile:What is Fashola's (ministry of Works') business with Enugu airport design? You are obviously spreading another fable you heard from a propagandists and it's a pity that only ignoramuses can believe this trash. |
Would be nice if buhari for once, shifts from his stance and balances these appointments across the zones to quench the needless ethnic disaffection which has characterised his administration and which keeps causing a needless distraction to Nigeria's unity and progress. |
NavierStokes:Bravo!... this total devaluation seems to be the way forward seeing as no other approach was working. Hopefully it will totally bridge the forex scarcity gap someway somehow. |
tbaba1234:Hmmm |
