HopeAtHand: Another day, another Igbo element takes to social network to showcase the stuff Igbo people are made of.
Is this how they manifest brotherhood, by being blind to mismanagement and mindless stealing of a nations resources.see how they shamelessly support corrupt Igbos and Igbo-related persons.
GEJs undoing was Stella Oduah, NOI and Alison-Madueke..Those women led the naive president astray.GEJ mismanaged Nigeria and Igbos still wanted him to continue till Nigeria died from econmoic
The Igbos believe that Hausa and Yoruba have been chopping alone in Nigeria, so GEJ govt was a means for them to chop their share and see if they can catch up on Hausa..is that how its supposed to be?...see how they defended Oduah and now Alison-Madueke and you wonder if this people can be trusted with Presidential power. Empty vessels make the loudest noise... Please and please again, do not heap the entire Igbos into this generalisation as a people who have no morals or common sense. It is mainly the empty vessels that you see online making all these noise with some cringe inducing embarrassing posts. The real hardworking and well meaning Igbos are in their places of business and work getting themselves busy; Igbos generally dont bother themselves with politics and I can assure you that there is a larger population of Igbos who do not support the filth which Jonathan's government represented. But unfortunately, since these well meaning ones never bother about politics, their opinions can easily be overshadowed by the empty vessels for obvious reasons. Do not judge/define an entire tribe based on the opinions of a few cretins you meet online. |

Anyway, let me take a quote from Tyrion Lannister: "A leader who kills those devoted to him does not inspire devotion..... if PMB wants to rule successfully, he needs to inspire devotion, a lot of it"In essence, if PMB had abandoned a person like Amaechi or Lai mohamed who have stuck out their necks for him to be where he is today, karma would have dealt seriously with him; this is a fact! ...The sworn enemies of change, the same set of people who fought hard to ensure that change was not born, the same people who criticised and ridiculed change from the day he was brought forth into this world up till date, isn't it ironical that it is now these same set of jesters that are hurriedly mourning the death of CHANGE? OK, kontinuu My stance is very simple, I would not be found joining issues with the yorubas you talk about involved in these tribal fights (else I would be guilty of the very thing I preach against). I will only caution my own people not to join them in swimming in the filthy waters. I believe there are matured yorubas who should caution their own people. |
Politics › Re: Senate Approval Of 21 Ministerial List Will Amount To Constitutional Blunder by obailala(m): 10:34am On Oct 06, 2015 |
wisdomguy4u: The constitution of Nigeria is the ground root of all government policy. Any government policy which does not directly or indirectly conform with the constitution is null and void.
The delay of ministerial nomination is excusable on the ground that the constitution never stipulated a time frame on which such nomination should be made. Personally, I think this is a dangerous loophole in the constitution and need to be amend to prevent any dictator-like government in our democratic pace.
Subsequently, the recent submission of 21 ministerial names to the senate for approval is inexcusably folly and unconstitutional. The constitution of Nigeria made it apparent under Section 147(2)and (3), these section and its subsections provides as follows:
SEC 147(2): " Any appointment to the office of Minister of Government of the Federation shall, if the nomination of any person to such offices is confirmed by the senate, be made by the president". SEC 147(3) "Any appointment under subsection (2) of this section by the president shall be in conformity with federal character as provide by constitution: Provided that in giving effect to the federal character the president shall appoint at least one minister from each state, who shall be an indigene of such State.
Buhari's nomination of 21 persons for the ministerial post does not in anyway comply with the above constitutional provision. The constitution provide that the senate cannot approve a ministerial list in which the individuals nominated does not cover the 36 states of Nigeria. The 21 persons nominated was not appointed from each state of Nigeria, and on that ground should be tantamount to null and void and therefore dead on arrival.
Most people might argue that the 21 ministerial list was not all that it is, that buhari will sooner or later submit more list for senate approval. But, as far as the parent law of Nigeria is concern, such action is unacceptable. The constitution only recognize a ministerial list in which appointment is made from at least one minister from each state.
In line with the above, if buhari is not ready yet to present a ministerial list that conform with the constitution ( from each state), then he should continue with his minister-less government which is on its own a loophole in the constitution. Any attempt by the senate to approval buhari's 21 ministerial list will circumvent our beloved constitution. Lol... No Nigerian president has ever appointed all ministers at once. |

@bolded, he is rather the not very smart and foolish ones too who will rather join other tribes to insult Igbos. I have told him before that he is making so much effort at being more Nigerian than the N in naira, whereas this is the same annoying guy that has never challenged any anti-igbo or pro-yoruba comment despite all the tribal slurs against Igbo on this forum.
He and Joe Igbokwe are on same pedestal, fools that you all never see defend their tribe even in the face of obvious persecution but will rather join others to disparage Igbos.
#spits My dear, listen and listen very well, there is a reason why you will not find me losing my cool because of tribal slurs against Igbo (especially in the nairaland's silly Igbo vs Yoruba war). I know who I am (great man), I know what I am (great man), I know what I am made of (greatness) and I know where I am going to (the top). Some anonymous iidiot out there making a tribal slur against my tribe does not in any way change my status or the greatness of my people. Therefore, you will not find me dignifying such lowlifes with a response (I will not be any different from them if I do). Someone has to be the bigger man and I find it rather childish jumping in to defend every distasteful slur I come across online, I am not a woman and neither am I a child. Besides, the only reason they keep coming back with the tribal slurs is because people like you keep responding to the morons, thereby prolonging a needless and unproductive tribal war. Regarding my perceived anti-Igbo stance, you need to understand that I am anti-GEJ, so it doesn't come to me as a surprise that you perceive most of my comments as anti-Igbo; that is quite understandable. However, I would make it clear here, I am not anti-Igbo; rather, I am against some myopic-Igbos and I am also against Igbo supremacists (just like this thread stinks of). |

chuna1985: Igbo states have the highest cut off Mark's...or are u blind Abia 65 Akwa Ibom 63 Anambra 66 Delta 65 Edo 63 Enugu 65 Imo 66 Lagos 65 Ogun 65 Ondo 64 Osun 64 Chuna1985, there is no doubt Imo and Anambra consistently have the highest cut-offs and are considered the educationally most advantaged states in Nigeria, but taking a look at that list above, it is clear that states like Delta, AkwaIbom, Lagos, Osun, Ogun etc also have considerably similar cut-off points to Imo and Anambra when you consider the entire list. So my point is simple, can we please for once, put into consideration the feelings of others when we open such threads and make it look like it is only Igbos that are discriminated by some of these retrogressive policies?... A honest question for you, how do you think a hard-working person from Delta state for instance would feel about the title of this thread?... CSTR2: You are not an igboman. Your post history says otherwise. No matter how de-tribalized you claim to be, there are times when you just have to be pro-igbo. Sorry, you are not an igbo man. If i want to be pro-Igbo, it doesn't mean I have to throw away my sense of reasoning for it; there are certainly other ways to be pro Igbo other than openly being an annoying tribalist. The title of this thread says "Another Injustice Against Igbos" and I think that is an unecessary tribal statement that would raise resentment against Igbos especially when it is clear that lots of non-Igbos are also victims in the issue in question. What else would you term a pro-Igbo argument if not for my expression of dissaproval over the unecessary racist title? |
