maestroferddi: Must you be gross and obstinate?
Why are you whining like a petulant child? You attempt to cast infantile aspersions on the Igbos failed miserably and you shamelessly chose to default to victimhood.
We really don't blame people like you. Nobodies who are given to making uncharitable comments about the Igbos all in a futile bid to mask unbridled envy and insecurity. Now I do not know where you are coming from but I must confess, you really are getting me confused here. Or are you basing you comments on the words of the confused girl I quoted? . Can you please kindly point out to where I made an uncharitable comment about the Igbos in this thread? |

If you really understand the psyche of an average Igboman, you would be weeping for yourself... First of all, I did not create this thread, I was only commenting on the senseless headline which I saw in the newspaper image. Secondly, If you understand the english language, then I'm sure you shouldnt mixing things up about my stance. |

melzabull: you are a blatant fool. APGA is dead yet it produced the same bastad called rochas. Its dead yet has a sitting g governor in Willie Obiano. Its dead yet has a HOR member in Taraba state.
Regarding adopting another party's candidate, its part of Democratic process and praticse. APGA isn't the only party that adopted, even labour (LP) adopted theirs.
You say cockerel was used to prepare pepper soup, what about the broom? is it not also to pack rubbush since it was used to sweep away and disgrace the janjawweeed called fayemi (a sitting governor) from office by a shameful 16-0 TKO?
ewu Gambia! melzabull: ...and you believed the comment because it was alleged to come from someone you detest? and this ijiot says he is Igbo yet he holds on to such disparaging remarks about his people without even bothering to ascertain whether or not its true. your mother must be the number 1 prostitute in igboland. useless foooll Melzabull or whatever you call yourself, it is obvious you are frustrated for one reason or the other. But let it be known to you that I do not have anything to do with your predicaments. Now your frustration has definitely gotten into your brain and messed things up upstairs because I still cannot understand how your brain or even the brain of a cretin could interpret my criticising questions to mean that I agree with the distasteful 'prostitute' statement. I really feel sorry for the parents that had you, I can only imagine how painful and depressing it would be to have a grown up child that is mentally unstable. Being a girl child even makes matters worse; I also really pity the man who settles for a person in your condition. |

xtrorse: You're simply irredeemable for dare stating that the call for self-determination was recently re-awakened!
Once again, the call for self-determination is not a crime and should never mean bringing ridicule to a tribe.
Do well to direct your allegiance to OduaArewanistan republic or else be ready for more heartaches... I'm sorry but my allegiance is to Nigeria my country and not some xenophobic hate themed republic which is being promoted by some albino in london and his confused followers. |

xtrorse: You appear to be the lost fellow here for dare dragging the Igbos into your misery.
What correlation has self-determination got to do with hate for a man? Is the call for self-determination a recent phenomenon? Are you alright at all?
This is not the first time you have exhibited your callousness and anger at the Igbos for not following your line of reasoning.
You've been in the habit of defending the indefensible with your arrogant and selfish stance against the Igbos.
There's freedom of association and so do well to channel your negative energies towards consolidating your OduaArewanistan republic... Oh pleeease! it's no news that the idea of self determination was only re-awakened after GEJ lost an election and PMB took over. So please save that your weak storyfor kids on this forum.... and once again, self determination doesnt mean bringing ridicule to your tribe. |

My comment was directed at a person who was indirectly defending the previous government's expenses on October 1 celebrations... Seeking self determination does not mean making ridiculous arguments in defense of the indefensible all because you think you have a do-or-die duty to oppose the government of a man you hate so much... Self determination indeed! all because a man lost an election... There is a point where you cross the line and start bringing ridicule to yourselves... and like the popular saying, "It is the brother of a madman that bears the shame" |

xtrorse: Mister, that last line of yours is totally uncalled for just because you're still bitter that a people have the guts to seek a separate existence. You don't need to claim to be an Igbo man to make such frivolous, provocative statements in a public forum.
Tell, in the past decades which other tribe other than the Igbos have so clamoured for the restructuring of the polity to ensure probity, accountability, justice, equity and fair play? Well I'm sorry, but in this particular context, I just had to say it to express exactly how irritated I was. I don't have a problem with people seeking a separate existence or whatever you call it, but when the actions of these people brings ridicule to me, you can't blame me for feeling incensed... and if I didn't identify my origins, my statement would have simply come across as the words of another one of the silly tribalists on this forum. |

I can't think for the dullard, he's got paid goons to do that. It's not my fault they are mediocre! Well, well, well! about the speech being mediocre, that's just your subjective opinion, the opinion of one unknown man, and the last time I checked, your opinion doesn't really matter in the bigger scheme of things Mr Smart... does it? |
Politics › Re: Pmb's Independence Day Speech: An International Embarassment? by obailala(m): 5:48pm On Oct 01, 2015 |
PointB: Concise, straight to the point and short is not same as refreshing, inspiring, with bold ideas. If this speech is your idea of perfection, I'm afraid mediocrity will find a comfortable resting place in your corner! Well I'm sorry, for me and many Nigerians, there's nothing wrong with the speech; it was a mere independent day speech and not some revolutionary announcement. If you think the speech should have been more bloated with 'stellar' ideas, then maybe you should bring up those ideas here for discussion and some way somehow, someone on this forum who's connected will get your bright ideas to the knowledge of the authorities. This administration is eager to impress, so I'm sure they would welcome such fresh ideas. |

PointB: The above is the Op's final conclusion.
That much I agree. The speech leaves much to be desired especially as it's content is very much a banal rehash of old rhetoric. The speech was concise and straight to the point... shortest independent day speech ever. I'm sure you would agree with me that we need more action and not speeches?... The speech was perfect! As for the 2 points the Op pointed out, the Op was wrong, there are no mistakes in the speech. Even the Op has been educated and he has abandoned the thread. |

Meanwhile, this thread is not about that. I don't want ethnic bigots to litter it. Well, regarding the topic, Rochas isn't far from the truth. APGA is a dead regionally restricted party of which the cockerel has been used for peppersoup a long time ago. When a party starts adopting the candidate of another party without any concrete agreements, it can be concluded that the party is irrelevant. |

Instead of answering the simple question, you proceeded to yap about lateness / thoroughness in appointing ministers. Who exactly needs to be more thorough here?... The Op raised a valid concern though, what the point of 'thoroughness' when end product is fraught with several of same or similar defect as previous ones? Buhari doesn't seem to know what he's doing, and those around him are proving nothing but bunch of incompetent sods! PointB: Put in another context, why did it take the duara dullard ages to make a list of ministerial nominees, only to have it replete with same old and tired politicians with substantial corruption cases etc dangling around them? Yet, we are to accept that a thorough job was done. Thorough must have a new meaning! Are you okay? Where is the connection between your 2 statements and the question I asked?... Tomjazzy2: Having painstakenly taken a very calm perusal at the draft copy of President Buhari's independence day speech, I can not but begin to wonder who drafted the speech of this importance.
The said speech is regrettebly fraught with some collosal errors, and I make bold to say here, has caused us an international embarassment.
In the second paragraph for instance, the President opined that Nigeria is the "ninth most populous nation" in the world.
Any one who knows elementary government do not need to consult an oracle before realizing that Nigeria is infact, the 7th most populous Nation in the world.
Furthermore, in the 17th paragraph, another laughable error was made, when the President said "...I have ordered a complete audit of our other revenue generating agencies, mainly CBN, FIRS, Customs, NCC..."
Apart from FIRS and Customs mentioned above, surely, neither the CBN nor the NCC qualify as a revenue generating agency. To be sure, both agencies are strickly speaking, regulatory agencies.
Or has the scope of those agencies been reviewed to include generating revenue for the country?
If the President have severally been discribed as some one who takes his time in anything he does, one who pays attention to every detail, then this speech leaves much to be desired. You are not even a quarter as smart as you think you are and you have just opened a thread to expose your ignorance. I would have just ignored your gibberish and moved on, but there are many like you out there who may innocently not be knowledgeable in these things and who may innocently read your erroneous assumptions and be misled by its content. Nigeria being the 9th or 7th most populous country in the world is debatable, and I'm sure the people writing those speeches are not nobodies. Secondly, the CBN and NCC are massive revenue generators for the government. A little extra diligence on google would have saved you this trouble. |
