Ingocof: I understand that when someone is over stressed he looks for any available means to transfer the aggression. So if only two cars had come to welcome Mr president does that mean that other cars in the convoy wouldn't have somewhere else to go?, is it because they moved together? See, you will keep wailing for the next eight years and nothing will console you. I understand that you are working for your 30k. Security detail Protocol.
Look them up.
Do you expect the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to arrive at the airport without his security team on ground? Do you think it was just any tom dick and Harry given the opportunity to congregate at the airport to receive the President? Who approved such a crowd of government officials?
Fiscal irresponsibility you say? How does that correlate with this? Is Buhari from Lagos or did you forget who Tinubu is in Lagos?
Stop endorsing what is wrong. Have you heard of 120 car convoy in Buhari's 8 years either on state visits or even when he was visiting Katsina his home state?
Have you ever heard of 120 car convoy escorting the President of the US or the UK Prime minister who are 1000 times richer than Us? |

richmond500: and how will that help?
Obviously I'm sure you have heard about leadership by example and body language? If Tinubu is a true leader who is not afraid to take the tough decisions he should have categorically put his foot down to address this madness and ensure there can not be a recurrence of such fiscal irresponsibility! Government officials are supposed to be public servants and not carry on like elites at the expense of the masses!
Going with them as one is even better from a leader than separating them, nobody is more important than the other.
Uncle there is something in government known as security detail and protocol. Look it up. If Tinubu wanted only his immediate family to be at the airport, all these political sycophants would have been rebuffed squarely at the airport! In fact they would not even had been there to start with because the information on his flight itinerary would not have been made available to them!
Na ona go still complain about dichotomy if he had done that.
Stop trying to paint a scenario that this situation was out of Tinubu's control and he just made the best of a bad situation. Na big lie. As the President of the country, he cannot enter into any location without a thorough screening of same beforehand and the people who are allowed in. |

richmond500: Also as the president, he can also ignore not directing them to go and meet him in his private residence, especially when he just arrived and saw them there waiting for him. He could go with them as one. Uncle, Before his arrival at the Lagos airport his security team would have been on ground and he would have been well briefed about the situation at the airport. A word from him would have been more than enough to get his team on ground to dispel the asslickers who congregated using public funds to curry His favour. |

hopexter: You sincerely think he owns all the cars? be reasonable. He doesn't need to own all the cars to address fiscal irresponsibility. He should lead by example by categorically stating that only the most exclusive like perhaps the vice president, the chairman of the party and the Lagos state governor should be in his convoy. Even when Buhari came to Lagos several times on state visit we didn't witness such fiscal irresponsibility. |

richmond500: the cost of fueling that cars from airport to ikoyi no reach N1m. What wastage are we talking about?
Also, who told u it was gotten from public funds? Since you no Sabi maths... Let's do the calculation for you.... 488 * 70 litres * 120 cars = N 4,099,200.00 This is excluding the cost of hiring all the police escorts and the logistics of inviting and hosting well wishers from the airport to Bourdilllon... That small money according to you can easily pay for waec fees for 500 students. Meanwhile we are crying that the country is broke and we the masses need to make sacrifices. Again I ask you have you seen such display of fiscal irresponsibility in the US or UK where serious government officials will abandon their official duties to go and assemble at the airport with their convoys to await and escort their President? When our government officials should even be busier this period strategizing on how to take the country out of its current financial doldrums? |

unite4real: Around here in Abuja we do not see the convoy up to a quarter of what we saw in Lagos. This goes to say that the one in Lagos is not actually all convoy to Tinubu alone. It's about several dignitaries with their own convoys all queued as one long convoy and giving people fever The question still remains why spend that kind of public funds to go and escort the president from the airport? Is that how it's done in developed countries like the US and UK where we are seeking for loans and debt forgiveness from? If you are asking the people to make sacrifices, as leaders are they not supposed to lead by example instead of this irresponsible expenditure of public funds? |

That is where subsidy came in because those revenue generated in those hospitals can’t pay the thousands of doctors, nurses, pharmacists and med lab workers there with change left for power supply, fuel, maintenance et cetera.
So yeah healthcare is the only sector subsidised in Nigeria.
Next is aviation cos many airports can’t maintain themselves with passenger revenue.
So health and aviation only.
Education has been removed The question is WHY? Why should subsidy in Education be removed when the sector is in dire of extra funding? Why should funding for professional bodies be removed when it would have a direct impact on the pricing of their services to masses? |

ublight: Many years ago, 2016 to be precise (not too far back right?) I used to write short stories and sell them online. There were few buyers then, and even fewer now. I would sell a short story of 8k word for 10k in naira.
It was such a big deal to me then. Normally it took a month for the manuscripts to be vetted. After getting paid, I would blow the money up on a ponzi scheme. When it got exhausted, I would write again.
After making about 500k, I started writing rubbish and my works started getting rejected. I even had to negotiate to be paid lesser for the rejected manuscripts.
All that is in the past now as I gave up on the gig. I started making money from betting and other avenues. I went into farming as well.
Then some weeks ago, I decided to use chat gpt to write a short story and see how effective it could be. (you all know the hype na. I just wanted to see if the AI matched the hype).
I must confess, at first I didn't know how to feed it with the right prompts. It was giving me garbage. Then I went on youtube and learnt how to feed chat gpt with the right prompts. That was a game changer.
I went back to chat gpt and it generated 7 amazing short stories between 8k and 10k words. I quickly reached out to one of my old buyers. Bad news, he is now into politics. I called another buyer, I didn't tell her it was me cos I scammed her the last time we did business ( and I'm not proud of it. Looking back I wish I never scammed her). She asked to see the manuscripts and I sent her 5.
Just yesterday she sent me 100k for the 5. Manuscripts are now 20k, no longer 10k.
The remaining 2 books are very interesting. I want to sell them on amazon kdp.
The 100k I made from the other books, I will use it to promote and advertise these 2 books. Wish me well.
#beggersKeepOff You mean you wrote a whole book and sold it for just 20k naira? |

Spending forex to import what we can grow is one of the reasons our currency is devalued. Shut up your mouth.... What has been the success recorded with rice apart from enriching the rice cartel and increasing cost of rice from 8k to 40k? In a situation where there is insufficient food supply domestically food prices will continue to rise unless local production is ramped up ( which for now seems unlikely especially with the insecurity in the north). To counter food scarcity there is need to import the shortfall pending resolution of the structural issues in the agricultural sector. |

INEC engineer will tell you they resist attacks against the server from their end. And can you even defend internet connectivity issues from device users? LP can't prove this, they are only wasting time. By the time the engineer is crossed examine now, he may make LP feel like mumu Bros you're just writing beautiful nonsense. The premise of INEC for not transmitting presidential elections electronically on that day using BVAS and IReV was that there was a glitch which compelled them to resort to manual transmission. This is what is being debunked here by the subpoenaed witness who was contracted by INEC to ensure that their systems were up and running. Miraculously on the same day, the systems were up for all the other elections except presidential. What is there to prove again? |

Let's wait for the Customs side of the story before accusing them of robbery. Importation of rice remains banned until lifted and all illegal rice thus imported is subject to seizure without compensation Uncle I repeat no legal agency will break into a person's place of business at night to cart away goods and services in the name of a seizure... That is robbery plain and simple. I'm sure you didn't read the part of the story where the customs bosses denied knowledge of this operation so before you talk plenty go and read the story again. |

They should just let the criminal enjoy their I guess Uncle no official operation will include attacking shops at night, breaking in and carting away goods. That's robbery plain and simple. If it's a genuine operation perhaps to impound contraband then it should have been done in the daytime with the necessary police support present to ensure security of their officials while discharging their official duties.
