Yeah, I know MSc in structures. German schools will be good for you - high quality, no tuition..But you will need like 1.8milla in your account (in fact transferred to a German account in your name) to cover living expenses before you're issued visa. You've this bar?
Baba T, pls I have lost your mail. How do I contact you again?

Seen a lot of debate about this. I think the PGD doesn't really give you any great advantage after spending the time and funds on it. You may do PGD and still be struggling to get good masters in the same Canada. According to the thread, it's even more difficult to get any meaningful employment using the PGD.
"Meaningful Employment" very key oo. I get it now, thanks.

If you are thinking of canada make sure you gpa is good like 3.00 or more.don't go and do pgd its just a waste.there are better countries than canada.I will also encourage to look for top schools.even if you study in the uk you can move to other countries.wherever country you choose make sure you get good grades.cuz no country will give you job just like that.all the best
How is Canadian PGD a waste ma?

Many business schools give you that GRE/GMAT flexibility, but GMAT gives you more options which might translate to more funding opportunities(Not all schools accept GRE for business school)..GMAT Math is more technical though.
Eventually GRE scores get converted to the GMAT equivalent for business schools, so just go for one you think you'll do really well. For Finance/Acct., I'll advise accounting if you intend completing and getting a job.
Thanks a lot bro.

Thanks for the advise. I should stick with GRE perhaps and yes, I already made up my mind to go for accounting, as I am already working in that field.
TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 7 by obiaguna(m): 1:51am On Jun 16, 2015
Quick one guys.
I intend studying a business course for my masters, say finance or accounting. Now, I have read in two different places where it was written that GRE isn't a suitable test for business school candidates. The article also said that GMAT is a more suitable test for business school candidates.
The issue now is that I'm already preparing for GRE and I'm more inclined to writing GRE than GMAT, so I would need somebody who is studying a business course in USA to tell me more about both exams as I am seriously searching for full scholarships/funding.

[quote author=Velocitron post=34267938]Look, this is getting exhausting. Just to make sure we're on the same page, I'm 100000% for gender equality. I'm a woman myself, why would I think any man is better than me simply by just being a man?

I just think modern feminism or third-wave feminism has been sidetracked into making women victims of circumstance rather than empowering them and helping those really in need, like women whose faces are being mutilated with acid for fleeing from abusive husbands or victims of FGM etc. Those are real issues not 'my uncle didn't let me break kolanut when I was a child'.[/quote

There are always two sides to a coin. There would always be the good and bad parts of a tribe. If we all can understand this simple explanation, Nigeria would be a better place.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: The Pains Of The Unemployed by obiaguna(m): 11:41pm On May 09, 2015
Velocitron:
I believe a big part of getting a job is actually being employable. Employers need to know what makes you special among a sea of other candidates and you need to prove your worth to them. Previous experience is an example of something that can help to put your foot in the door; having a first class degree is another example.

To put it simply, your CV should answer the question, "why should we employ you?".

Although I'm still in first year and don't have any major qualifications, I'm taking advantage of all the student jobs available. I've represented Nigeria in an international competition, just finished working as a student ambassador, about to begin working as a STEM ambassador (I study Computer Science). At the very least I can say my CV isn't blank.
You are on the right track my friend. Don't let anybody tell you otherwise.

it all depends.......I was in the same situation as u are now tho mine is a 2.1....but a low cgpa....4 universities had denied me admission, so I ask what I could do to make me eligible for 1 of the university. ..and the lady advised me to take a post graduate certificate course in the university (university of windsor). I also asked university of carleton is doing a pg certificate course in a college can help help masters application. ....and they replied me that it may help only if I get good grades and the course is related to my proposed course of study
Hello Ugosh, must the pg certificate come from a university or can u also get one from any Canadian college?

That's a hoax. A graduate certificate from the mentioned colleges would earn you qualification for your masters degree. Go ahead with it.

Oh okay, I would go ahead with my initial plans then.
Thanks.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 7 by obiaguna(m): 5:32pm On May 06, 2015
Greetings to all the guru's in the house. All protocols duly observed.

My issue is that I initially wanted to apply to a couple of colleges because I didn't make a 2.1 so I'm applying to colleges to get a Graduate certificate so as to further enhance my application for a Msc later. I was going to apply to Centennial,Cornestoga and Niagara College.

Somewhere along the thread, someone pointed out that most Canadian universities don't accept graduate certificates for their masters and one would be better off doing a PGd in the university and now I have searched and I haven't found any school doing a pgd course in my preferred course of study.(I'm a finance bsc holder).

So does anybody know any school that accepts 2.2 for a Masters degree preferably finance/business? I tried looking at Saskatchewan and they accepted just 2.1 and I looked at MUN but I don't really know if they take class of degree into consideration as its not written on their site.

I Need your expert views on this pls, most especially from folks already in the system.

Thanks.

That is the order in Nigeria ooo. It is very bad. He should just concentrate on investments and insurance for his kids...because if anything happens to him (God forbid) they will neglect the kid. He should also warn his nuclear family never to go near those investments in Africa that had been opened to his extended family (for their own safety) He should disconnect himself from them for now. He has tried. He is not El-Shaddai. Only El-Shaddai has the ability of meeting everybody's needs.
well said, brother
SportsRe: Emmanuel Adebayor Share His Pain, Ordeals And Family On Facebook(kindly advice) by obiaguna(m): 9:23am On May 06, 2015
This Is a Nigerian problem. Once a member of the family makes money, every single person would start developing entitlement mentality and watch how they desert you once the money stops coming.

I hope Adebayor has investments sha cos he is already getting old.

Op I had this same issue or similar issue called LSE. I was tall, handsome and extremely reserved in school but then I couldn't muster up courage to flow with my mates, I couldn't even talk to girls or answer questions confidently in class. My dentition wasn't and still isn't perfect till date and it affected me a lot and I went to a school filled with a lot of fresh/rich kids so I was constantly comparing myself with them.

But then towards the end of school I started reading books abt building ones self esteem and I started putting it to use. My favorite book was "7 habits of highly effective people" by Steven Covey. I read others too and practiced. I learnt to change my mind set, I even changed my wardrobe.i started dressing better and I started growing confidence from within. I could go on and on but OP it takes time but its quite achievable. There's been a lot of difference in my life since then and I don't even remember how it feels to have LSE.

OP u can join a public speaking group, u should also go out a lot during weekends and hang out with people. Talk to strangers too, say hi to random people and smile. Compliment people and watch them smile, u can always fix ur teeth at clinics. Then read a lot of self help books on "self confidence".. Sorry if my epistle was too long..

Conflicting reports! The one that graduated in 2013 might just be another governor or his elder brother.
Don't confuse urself..the one that graduated in '13 was Ayo Fayose's last son named Joju Fayose. He (Ayo Fayose) was at the convo.
