That is the best. They are our representives
Think again. Try to do it smartly this time. Was it structured to be done that way?
What happened to doing it the way it was arranged to be done? What happened to due process? Why can't we stick to the original script? Must we be disorganized? Lastly, at the constituency or senatorial district level, what is the guarantee that these senators and reps will distribute their given slots in fair fashion to their people? What if they choose to give it to only their cronies and well-wishers amongst the people in their sen. districts? What if they give it to their girlfriends who may not necessarily be from their sen. districts/constituencies at all? We have to start building the will to insist on the right thing. That's the only way to salvage this nation.

we love pretending in this country. alot of you if given same opportunity will do same- whether as the minister or the senators. at the end most if not all the slots will go back to the same common man who consistently pressures his rep. at the house to provide him with a job. an obligation not he's to fulfill
Now this is very true. All those ill-gotten slots, if they truly exist, will end up with the same common man. The common man, once he's able to get these crumbs from these politicians, will not only stop complaining about this slot issue, but will go ahead to start seeing himself as more 'privileged' or 'opportuned' than the others who couldn't get a politician to gift them a slot. The religious ones will say it is 'grace'.
Until Nigerians are ready and able to stand up collectively, and demand the right thing be done in every and any procedure and process in this country, no matter whose ox is gored, we cannot make any progress. We keep selling out our ticket to bettering Nigeria for the crumbs the draconian powers give a select few of us intermittently, thereby keeping us and our unborn in perpetual socioeconomic slavery in our own country.

Nigerian youths,

when you are tired you know what to do,

if you like sit down and be saying "e go better" or "god dey" no worry god go dey dey hmmm your only hope for enjoyment now is death and even that one is based in hearsay.

The people who told you to die before you enjoy are already enjoying here on earth and guess what?
They have never died before so they don't even know what they are talking about either, Goodluck to you.

I hope you dont die only to find out there is nothing at all on the other side and the elites just played a fast one on you to calm you down and make you look forward to dying, while they loot you dry smiley it is sad but funny. N'ndo
If this is true, then these people are pushing their luck too much. And it's only a matter of time, and things will totally fall apart.

You are advocating for violence.
Quite agreed, that is a wrong approach. But his response is a direct fall out of the violence being perpetrated by some of these Gov't outfits against innocent Nigerians daily.
Nigerians need to take a hard look at Nigeria, and stand up to rescue their country. No other ambition is more worthwhile at this point.

You are part of the reason the country is messed up.
See how the IMAGE of NIGERIA has been destroyed abroad.
In our country, the Gov't and elites already seem to have made legit hustling look stupid. And we can argue that the so-called developed countries have always provided a safe haven for looted funds and looters from our country, thereby indirectly destroying our country. Until the western countries learn to actively and directly deny our Gov't /public officials/elites ( plus their dependants) and their questionable funds entry into and investment in their countries, then they have no moral justification to talk about the 'IMAGE of NIGERIA' in any negative way.
We saw pics and videos of flagrant display of wealth on Twitter the other day by a certain group of Nigerians; how is it that nobody is worried about the legitimacy of the source of such? What is good for the goose, is good for the gander. If we are sanitizing our society, then there must be no sacred cows in our sanitation drive. The situation in our country and our perceived international image will most likely keep deteriorating until we as a country are able to offer, based on equity and merit, realistic and tangible pathways to decent livelihoods for our teeming young and able-bodied population.
This, to me, is the bigger picture.

This is arguably the smartest and most mature comment here. Most times in life, the one-size-fits-all approaches do not work. Look at ur own situation, and approach it accordingly. The family is obviously trying to avoid extinction.
Politics / Re: Fuel Subsidy Will Not Return, FG Assures IMF by Obiwiz(m): 4:29pm On May 02, 2020
JAMO84:
Buhari has done it again. We haven't had any fuel scarcity in like four years now, something that use to happen every six months during the sixteen miserable years of the useless Poverty Development Party.

Subsidies are gone for good, any marketer that doesn't want to accept the new reality can start selling palm oil.

For the first time since 1993, we are going to completely get rid of the fraudulent subsidy regime and use the money to development our critical infrastructure!!!

I AM DONE TALKING
Tbh, if you think lack of money is the reason we haven't been able to develop our critical infrastructure in this country, then you don't even know anything. And that automatically nullifies all your submissions up there.

Well to me I think most of those people are either either veterans or ex-millitary because I don't think you can have access to military grade weapons as a civilian.

But I don't care about that one, what is making me angry is someone saying civilians will face the military head on or intimidate the military if they are given guns in Nigeria.

Are you high on something?
You're comparing people they went for 6 month jungle training or 4 years in NDA and have been exposed to rigorous trainings, tactics,drills.....like mad drills, late nights and early mornings, living in bushes or barracks with daily training etc since they graduated or did P.O.P and joined the forces To someone that wakes up,eat, go to work and sleep? Because he has gun so he can face the military now? grin grin grin

Bro reason am nau
You think people just get guns and start running about without precision and stealth movements and positioning with tactics?
That means these insurgents in northern nigeria that have not been subdued yet were trained for warfare too, ryt?
Bro, understand that our penchant for cutting corners in almost everything has affected all our institutions (including the military) in this country. Most of the police or army brutality on civilians are simply because diz guys are armed while the civilians are unarmed. If civilians have dia own arms, there will be drastic reduction in police and military intimidation. Mutual respect will be restored overnight in Nigeria.

Fuel economy is not really an issue per se. We're prepared for that. But what we want to be wary of is whether it has a history of being a problematic vehicle. Most people so far, have spoken against the nissan pathfinder

This thinking is incorrect.

I am presently in Canada studying with my family. We applied together and our visas were approved together. Also, I have many of my colleagues who applied together with their family and their visa were approved.

A family of mine started his program in UBC this January. He applied for his study visa along with his family at the same time and all the visas were approved. He came in for Masters degree and not PhD.

Thanks

Sir, can I PM you, please? I am looking to apply for an MSc in Canada, and I'm a bit lost. Pls I really need all the information and guidance I can get. Thank you.

Keep waiting till you receive 1million monthly before you get married. Kids everywhere!

If you're earning 60k and your wife is earning above 45/50k what else do you need?
Or you want to marry a jobless lady?
Lol. But Nigerian ladies see marriage/rship as a job na. They believe they're meant to earn from it.
