This is a contradiction. In Igbo marriage, the groom shouldered all the expenses after paying the bride price.
You can't be telling me about my custom Oga, most of the things I use in my house are what my in-laws used to settle their daughter,(my wife) I am from Enugu state as I stated above, I don't know about others.

By the way you afonjas should stop crying more than the brieved, we lgbos pay for the"expensive" marriage but you guys are the one crying. I don't understand again

You are totally wrong with this submission. Yorubas don't sell their daughters all in the name of collecting brideprice.
Ok, but Yoruba women can give you four children (bastards) fathered by other men

BTW Why do Yoruba men rush lgbo women for marriage despite the "selling" leaving their cheap women to roam about ?

Coal is never useless

Even SA, China, USA etc still uses coal to generate electricity

Before you post always get your facts right
I know what am saying, coal is not eco friendly, all the countries using it e,g China USA, south Africa, German etc are being persuaded to dump it. Discouragement of the use of dirty energy always take center stage in each climate summit even the last one in Dubai.

Enugu state government even made it clear to those calling for the revivaterlization of the coal industry that coal belongs to the past

Coal is very much in use all over the world, though it's old technology but still very useful
They are gradually phasing coal out both in US and China .it is a dirty fuel and has no place in the future.

Please educate them

Even Enugu state still has the largest amount of coal reserve in Nigeria
Coal is useless now, something that is being gradually faced out due to its effect on the ozone layer.
Pls no add coal abeg

In Ado-Ekiti, our bride price is not up to 20k
The only thing is that the cheap lady is likely to give you children fathered by other men.

Cheap things are really costly.

MadamExcellency:
Bride Price is only for the parents of the girl. Traditional rites are where the buck of the money lies.

In some parts of the Southeast, the bride price is N70 only. The traditional rites have three lists for men, women and the parents. My father collected N10,000 for my bride price then.
What many f00ls don't know is that in Igbo culture, the parents of the bride spends more than the groom in most cases. When parents buy fridges , motorcycles, cushion chairs, GP tanks , kitchen utensils etc to settle their daughter and you are still crying about what the groom spent which more of it are not even mandatory but just for self ego
Eg in most Igbo traditional marriages these days cows are slaughtered whereas the mandatory animal is just goat. Well, am talking from enugu perspective, don't know about others

Igbos should overhaul their cultures too! It's toxic! Spending millions for marriage and burial isn't worthy! Am Igbo before you start quoting me! Omenala Igbo adighi nma ma ncha! Umu nwanyi anaghi ekete ekpe! Women don't even inherit anything in Igbo land! Ndi Igbo megharia omenaala unu maka odi njo! O reere ure nakwa sikaria nkakwu n'isi! They always give stupid powers to first son traditionally that's our my paternal uncle sold all useful lands after my grand father's death! These land would have been worth hundred of millions currently but that uncle is still wretched till now! I regret being an Igbo! I prefer Yoruba culture!
It is not let for you to naturalize you know, just change your name and relocate to oshogbo, thaz all

Niger state is the biggest state in Nigeria, it is three times the size of the whole SE, a LG is almost the size of Abia state. The terrain of the North is as complex as the creeks in the Nigerdelta. The size of the north with its porous borders makes it extremely difficult in comparison to the number of soldiers per sq km. I suggest a more robust grassroot synergy, a strong determination by both traditional and religious leaders in the fight against banditary. The defence HQ should also scale up the use of drones and advanced tech inorder to bridge any lapses. If you think the Army ain't doing enough, let's withdraw the troops for 48 hours and see if you'd sleep in your house talking trash behind your keyboard.
After eating ewedu you will just open your mouth waaa,. How is Niger state three times the size of south east and which local government is almost the size of Abia state?
Abia is times two the size of Lagos but you forgot to use Lagos for your warped anaology

Yes, I even said it on another thread when someone was celebrating Hamas victory when he heard some reservists are been withdrawn due to the next stage of the war. How can someone be celebrating victory when over 22k of the people are killed and cities turned to rubbles?. The only logical explanation is that, the life of the killed is far worth less than the other. Is a pity how Muslim consider their life worthless
Reminds me of isreal Hezbollah war of 2006, the Arab world are still celebrating it as victory against isreal despite that Beirut was almost destroyed with over two thousand Lebanese killed while isreal lost less than a hundred soldiers with their cities intacit

It appears as if victory has a different meaning to Muslims.

The way you are surprised same way I'm surprised at Palestinian people.

They have died in thousands and they are still saying Isreal will go in shame, which or when is the shame coming? Is it when only 5,000 Palestinian remain alive is the shame or what?
The Palestinian scenario reminds me of Biafran war, Ojukwu and his lieutenants are in a safe bunkers enjoying themselves and directing the war from the safe coven just like Hamas but Ojukwu have to end the war by going into exile when it becomes obvious that the civilians he was fighting for are at the receiving end of the war , as they suffer hunger and starvation.
The military superiority of the federal forces over Biafran fighters is nothing near in comparison with that of isreal over Hamas still Hamas are not being advised to surrender.

zikter:
Unfortunately, they are also dealing with unforgiving Israelis, the reason why they have survived in that region. Kill one of them, and at least ten of your people are going down
.it is one for hundred, remember that isreal once released hundreds of Palestine prisoners in exchange for the body of isreali soldier killed by Hamas. This is to show you the worth of an isreali compared to a Palestine.
Foreign AffairsRe: Hamas' Deputy Head, Salah Al-arouri Killed In Israel Drone Strike (photo) by Objectivist04: 7:54pm On Jan 02, 2024
Ironbull:
Why can't these Hamas just throw in olive tree for peace because the way it is going the longer the war goes the more Palestinia population is reducing significantly.
What surprises me is that none of their supporters both as countries or individuals is advising them to surrender at least for the sake of the civilians.
None !! All they keep saying is that isreal will live Gaza in shame while thousands of Palestinians keep dying, then more shocking to me is even the fact that the Palestinian civilians who are at the receiving end of this war are ok with Hamas despite all they are going through. I thought that by now they would have protested against Hamas.

Good one. Plateau state gave obi, a good number of vote in the last election. I am happy to see him there. Nigeria as a country need to be sincere about this insecurity thing.

Watching the interview of people from this part of plateau say what is actually going on there on arise tv makes my heart bleed. The government and the security team seem to be complesant in what is going on there.

It's plateau, Borno zamfara, imo, Anambra today, it might just be anyone else's state tomorrow. It used to be Borno alone then, look at today
Why add lmo and Anambra ? Why not Ondo, Niger, Sokoto and Katsina ?

Q3 is likely the time Alex otti became governor. Since he became governor when was the last time u heard of any Biafra issue from Abia state?

The rise in investors is cause investors have faith in his government.

Even seat at home in Abia state ended just by the governor appealing to his people.
That credit goes to lkpeazu not Otti, from the time of lkpeazu Abia is being regarded as the most peaceful in the south east.

Also remember that lkpeazu commissioned the center table flyover on monday when sit at home is at highest level and the likes of Ugwuanyi doesn't come out on Mondays.

Foreign investment doesn't equate development in every sense, it mostly signifies capital flights in the real sense.
Take foreign investments in the oil sectors for instance, more than 90+% of the dividends are going to people outside of Africa and these are also part of the foreign investment we talk about.
Let's not even start with the discriminatory compensation system these foreigners practice in their organization. I would be worried only if there's no investment at all.
The thing is that if it comes to local investment south eastern states will come second, third, fourth, and fifth after Lagos.
