tjskii: My own beans stil takes an hour thirty minutes to cook o,infact na only once a month I dey cook beans now,make e no finish my gas

Have anybody noticed it lately,i remember those days its takes up to an hour or more to prepare beans we even add some things called 'akanwu' to fasten the cooking
but just yesterday it took me just less than 20 mins to prepare the beans i ate yesternight #farts# sorry
why is that?

Contrary to news reports in many
National Dailies, the All Progressive
Congress (APC) candidate in the
November 16, 2013 Anambra State
gubernatorial polls got secured the
approval and consent of both the Palace
Secretary in the Palace of the Obi of
Onitsha ,and later the traditional ruler
Traditional as well as that of the Obi
Onitsha himself.
Hon Uche Okonkwo –Okom, former
member, Anambra State House of
Assembly and Director in the Chris N.
Ngige Campaign Organization who gave
this indication while speaking to a
handful of reporters who sort his
reaction to yesterday’s story said he
made the arrangements for the rally
which was first scheduled for three
previous dates before it finally held on
October 7, 2012 and got approval from
both high officers of the Palace.
‘I communicated the Igwe in my capacity
as Director of Operations and got a text
approval for our event.’ Okonkwo
informed, adding that ‘those who are
using the name of our revered traditional
ruler who extended all courtesies to me
and my principal are out to make
mischief, and to take away the attention
of an upbeat Anambra State from the
gains pf a successful rally, attended by
close to 120,000 dedicated supporters
who willingly gave out their funds for
Ngige to be the next governor’.
Continuing Okonkwo said, I contacted
the Igwe on October 5, 2013 to intimate
him with our program and to request a
visit to his palace by Ngige and
governors attending the rally and he
gladly approved’
To buttress his point Okonkwo-Okom
showed a text message response from
Igwe Alfred Achebe, (going by the name
saved on his handset)
It read in part: ‘Sorry I was not in a
position to talk last night .Indeed his
Excellency Dr Ngige and the governors
are very welcome. To ensure proper
protocol, please advise the number
coming and the names if possible.’
Okonkwo also noted: ‘Again when the
timing agreed for the courtesy call was
not congruent to either side, I was also a
joint decision by both parties to defer the
participation in the Ofala to another day
outside the rally day, Senator Dr Chris
Ngige will still lead us to l pay His Majesty
a homage as earlier scheduled and
deferred and that would be the time to
truly find out if some political
beneficiaries of confusion have not gone
to work’
Okonkwo Okom, therefore called on
Anambra people to take advantage of the
experience so far garnered by Dr Ngige,
and his track record and return Anambra
State to the path of true development in
the coming elections, because only God
knows why the date coincides with the
date a great Onitsha man who Ngige
believes in, being a Zikist, was born and
buried.

seen before in the entire existence of the
town, that Ngige was able to make the Ofala
festival look ordinary,, he went further to say,

Eight persons were injured by suspected
political thugs following the pulling down
of billboards of some governorship
candidates in Onitsha, Anambra State, in
the build up to the November 16
governorship election.
The candidates whose billboards were
destroyed are said to be those not from
Anambra North Senatorial District.
Although Police Public Relations Officer
(PPRO) in the state, Emeka Chukwuemeka,
told reporters that the issue of billboards
is a local government affair, campaign
directors of most of the candidates hold
contrary views.
While admitting that payments for
billboards were made to the various local
governments, they allege that thugs from
Anambra North were responsible for their
destruction.
People from Anambra North with the
support of Governor Peter Obi insist it is
the turn of their zone to produce the next
Governor of the state, warning that any
politician that accepts the position of a
running mate or campaign director for a
non-Anambra North candidate would not
only have his or her house burnt but will
also be excommunicated from the area.
Already, billboards belonging to Ifeanyi
Ubah of Labour Party (LP), Chris Ngige of
All Progressives Congress (APC), Godson
Okoye of United Democratic Party (UDP)
Godwin Ezeemo of Peoples Progressives
Alliance (APP) and Hygers Igwebuike of
Accord Party (AP) have allegedly been
vandalised.
Similarly, there is an alleged plot by some
youths to disrupt any campaign rally by
any candidate from Anambra Central and
Anambra South.
The youths are insisting that the
marginalisation of Anambra North can no
longer be condoned.
One of the youths who gave his name as
Uchenna Okoye told Daily Independent in
an interview that, “All we want is for
Anambra North to produce the next
Governor and we the Alliance of Olu Na’
Adagbe youths will ensure that this is
achieved.
“But we do not support the destruction of
the billboards. Our organisation has no
hand in it. Those doing that are people
that have no job to do.”
Areas like Awkuzu junction, Otuocha
junction, Anaku round about in the
Ayamelum and Oyi local government
areas respectively and parts of Atani town
in the Ogbaru Local Government area
have witnessed the pulling down or
defacing of billboards and posters by
faceless youths.
Reacting to these developments, Chairman
of the Ifeanyi Ubah Campaign
Organisation, Dan Ulasi, told Daily
Independent that it is sad and
unfortunate that “our politics has been
reduced to the level of brigandage and
arson.”
“It is indeed pitiable that at this modern
age when politics is being played with the
spirit of maturity and sportsmanship,
some enemies of the democratic process
have toed the path of criminality.
“Our candidate, Ubah, is a peace loving
man that believes in the rule of law and
peaceful process and he cannot be cowed
by such display of rascality.
“We urge the law enforcement agencies to
be alive to their responsibility by ensuring
that the culprits are brought to book.”
Also, Director of Communications for
Ngige Campaign Organisation, Charles
Amilo, told reporters that it has become a
common practice for political parties and
candidates who are not on ground to take
the laws into their hands.
“In 2010 the same thing happened to
Ngige posters and billboards. Today it is
happening again. I do not think that the
only way to win election is by violence
and pulling down billboards and posters.
“Ngige’s billboards are being pulled down
and defaced in some parts of Anambra
North. In fact, we have it on good
authority that some APGA chieftains in
the local government area have been
directed to ensure that Ngige’s billboards
and some others who they claim to be
against Anambra North agenda are not
allowed to be seen,” Amilo alleged.
Chairman Ezeemo Campaign Organisation,
Path Orjiakor, also told Daily Independent
that no amount of intimidation can stop a
winning candidate.
“They know that our candidate is on
ground and all they are doing is to see if
they can distract or discourage him.
Those in Anambra North who feel that
they can produce Governor through this
means should be mindful of its grave
consequences.
“Every candidate is free to campaign
anywhere in a peaceful manner and not
through violence because it is an ill wind
that blows no good,” Orjiakor said.
Director of Hygers Igwebuike’s
organisation, Chuba Ikeagwu, warned that
nobody has the monopoly of violence in
Anambra State.
“What those people are looking for is
trouble and I appeal to my brothers from
Anambra North to call their youths to
order.”
However, governorship aspirant of PDP
and former Senator representing Anambra
North, Emma Anosike, sued for peace,
warning that people should not take laws
into their hands in the name of politics.
“Well, I am yet to see or confirm what
happened. But I must advice that we are
all brothers and sisters in Anambra State
and should not allow this to degenerate to

Abagworo: This is Mgbemena street, Awada and why can't it be like picture2 which is also a street in London? Places like Uyo, Calabar and even Port-Harcourt have good roads but still lack houses but all that is needed in Aba, Onitsha or Nnewi is just good roads and repainting of houses.

My people, for some time now, there has
been this wicked propaganda against my
person to the ridiculous level that at a time
they said that I have never opened my mouth
in the Senate; that I have neither sponsored
any bill or motion. That is laughable. For the
records, I have been one of the most active
senators in the current Senate of the Federal
Republic of Nigeria. I participated actively in
the 2011 /2012 Appropriation Bill and made
significant inputs in the money bill. Late it be
known that as a senator, my first allegiance is
first with the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and
then my constituency. At a time I was the only
senator from Anambra State, I made sure that
projects that will benefit the entire southeast,
my state and my constituency where inserted
in the appropriation bill. This is easily
reflected in the increased power projects in
the entire southeast. I am in seven
committees of the senate, and as a senator
from the opposition party, I cannot be
chairman of a committee. I am the deputy
chairman of the senate committee on power.
Every good legislator takes keen interest in
the money bill. That is where you have the bill
that affects the development of your region.
It determines which region gets what. My job
as a senator is make sure that projects
favourable to my constituency are inserted in
the appropriation bill. It is the job of the
executive arm of the government to release
the funds for the execution of the projects.

3. Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria Act

• To provide for appeals to liie from the
Teachers Registration Commmitte established
under the Act, to the Federal High
Court ,instead of directly to the Court of
Appeal
. To provide for more judicial discretion and
flexibility in the sentences imposed for
offences under the act depending on the
facts and circumstances of each case, rather
than having one uniform punishment
provision.
4. Flag and Coat of Arms Act Cap F30,LFN 2004
• To increase the financial penalties imposed
for offences under the Act based on present
economic realities in Nigeria and in line with
inflation since the enactment of the Act in
1960
5. Flag of Nigerian Ships Act Cap F31,LFN 2004
• To increase the financial penalties imposed
for offences under the Act based on present
economic realities in Nigeria and in line with
inflation since the enactment of the Act in
1968
• To further amend the regulation made
under the Act to include a term of
imprisonment as alternative punishment
6. Fertiilizer (Control )Act Caps F25,LFN 2004
• To pave way for offences under the Act to
be tried by the State High Courts, rather than
the Federal High Court, to ensure ease of
prosecution, especially for rural offenders,
more so as Agriculture is on the con-current

saving bulbs to conserve energy. We do not
have enough power to distribute to our
teeming 160 million. The highest generation

9. Farmers Registration Council Bill
• To jump-start an agrarian Resolution in
Nigeria, putting food on the table of the
ordinary Nigerian by creating a platform for
the organization, registration, recognition,
formalizing, and empowerment of the
Nigerian farm cooperatives and other farm
organizations;
• To serve as the official instrument for
ensuring that Nigerian farmers, farm
cooperatives and other farm organizations
receive any interventions and assistance
planned by government for farmers e.g.
fertilizers, seeds, etc.;
• To identify and register the authentic
farmers and remove the excesses of middle
men who have not allowed government
interventions to reach the actual farmers;
• To build a reliable official data base of
Nigerian farmers that will be
used by government agencies that would
want to relate directly with farmers;

Let it is also be recalled that I singlehandedly
moved the motion for the immortalization of
the late Prof. Chinua Achebe. As a result of
that motion, Chinua Achebe was given a

Chinua Achebe a befitting national burial.
