Christianity EtcRe: Should We Stop Giving Tithe? by OBVIOUS(m): 6:52pm On Dec 04, 2008
manmustwac:
YES we should stop giving tithes merely because u give 10% of your salary and out of the 100% tithes our pastors collect from the congregation less than 10% of the money goes back into the community. If the same congregation were donating the same 10% of their wages towards some kind of business investment and foundout that 90% of their money was being misused they will stop donating wouldn't they?
good point!! Tithes are taken from the people used to buy private jets and large homes, and in turn only oppresses the common man like "joe the 7 pack" grin
Christianity EtcRe: Should A Good Christian Drink Alcohol? by OBVIOUS(m): 6:49pm On Dec 04, 2008
Hesperus:
this issue again and again. 1stly, alcohol is simply fermented starch/sugar. Any sugar containing drink if left to stand long enough will contain alcohol traces. So those who preach against alcohol should as well abstain from sugary suff.
D keyword is moderation, in everything.
good point. confused xtians. Its becuase they don't take the time to read, examine, and understand the principles of the bible. They'd rather follow after the pastor like a dummy. !! grin

PoliticsRe: Why Did The Western Media Ignore Jos? by OBVIOUS(m): 6:45pm On Dec 04, 2008
Well, the western media reporting such, draws attention to the issues (like it did, for the child witches)

BUT the problem becomes, WE, Nigerians will then begin another discussion of how western media only says bad things about Nigeria, this, that, that, this, we complains too much and the story never ends.

Christianity EtcRe: Stop & Think: Did God Create Any Religion? by OBVIOUS(m): 6:34pm On Dec 04, 2008
Religion has nothing to do with god. it is a political tool used to create order and control.
Christianity EtcRe: Should We Stop Giving Tithe? by OBVIOUS(m): 6:31pm On Dec 04, 2008
There's no where in the bible that says that tithe HAS to be a Monetary donation.

I do however, believing that giving is important. (to a charity or to a church) which ever suits ur boat.

PoliticsRe: Nigerians Are Hypocrites by OBVIOUS(m): 6:15pm On Dec 04, 2008
1 - A Nigerian would hardly keep his promise (must add days, weeks, or even months to his promise)
2 - A Nigerian always tell lies and spread rumours across everywhere
3 - A Nigerian would hardly be trusted (esp with Money)
4 - A Nigerian always try as much as possible to cheat (In exam, in business, in anything)
L O L. If you can survive in Nigeria, you can survive anywhere in the world. gba beh!
PoliticsRe: Obasanjo: Nigeria's Best President So Far? by OBVIOUS(m): 6:13pm On Dec 04, 2008
This is the most ridiculous and contrived non-argument I've ever read on Nairaland in a very very long time.
I don't even know where to start. Let me try: if he is a dictator, how does his wife manage to control him?
Seun, many posts on NL are not research-based but opinon-based therefor I can only conclude that ridiculous or not, everyone is and should be entitled to thier opinions.

nana:
Hmmm, used to be a big deal to me but aint no more. Infact,he aint meeting my friends anytime soon. cheesy
Meeting one's parents shouldnt be a big deal.

In fact, one time I went to dinner with a "friend" at this fancy restaurant, someone that I was interested in and

mistakely bumped into my mom and some of her friends,  what does one do in this case ? deny ur mom? or introduce

the "friend," I was left with no choice but to introduce the "friend" and since then, marriage or no marriage, friends or

just phuck buddies meeting one's parents is no big deal to me at all, in fact, it means nothing other than the fact that

I have to be respectful for that time period.

RomanceRe: Backup Plan. by OBVIOUS(m): 3:41pm On Nov 26, 2008
I think that every woman should have a back-up plan.

But then, how can one really enjoy the present relationship, if you have someone else on the side. Anyhoo, I highly recommend a back up plan for women.

RomanceIs This Enough Reason ? by OBVIOUS(op): 5:39pm On Nov 24, 2008
I have a friend, who recently broke up with her boyfriend of 1 year and 2 months, because he doesn't want to meet her parents. She informs me that she is not interested in introducing him as a husband or anything of that sort but just

wants her parents to know who she is dating. But this guy is soo adamant about not meeting her parents. He states that "the time is not right, "

Even though she has stated time and time again that she is not interested in introducing him as a husband or anything of that sort, she still wants him to meet her parents but this dude doesn't seem interested.

I am of the strong opinion that meeting one's parents/family should not be that of a big deal as people make it out to be.

What will you do if your boy friend/girl friend that you've been with doesn't want to meet your parents ?  Feel free to share your input/experiences!!
PoliticsRe: Nigeria's Economy Under Threat As Oil Falls Below $50 A Barrel by OBVIOUS(m): 10:52pm On Nov 21, 2008
Giving it away for free doesn't mean it won't have worth or value.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria's Economy Under Threat As Oil Falls Below $50 A Barrel by OBVIOUS(m): 10:48pm On Nov 21, 2008
He should revise the budget. I think OPEC nations should come together and reduce oil production by at least 50% to push of the price otherwise it will be falling lower and lower everyday until the West recuperates from bad economy.
Such reasoning is disturbing to say the least. Shows you don't know much about economics!!!
