IslamRe: Reasons Why We Should Not Celebrate Milaad Un Nabawiy (the Prophet Birthday)! by Occurstaem(m):
AlBaqir:
Do you know their intentions (Niyyat) before tagged them "ignorant"? After all, "Actions shall be judge according to intentions" ~Hadith.
Know their intentions (Niyyat) before tagged them "ignorant"? Seriously? Really? What else should I have called them when they are gathering in the mosque on the eve of Gregorian new year knowing fully well that Christians are also gathering in their churches? Even went as far as making the Adhan(call to solat) at exactly 12am. For what reason? Is it time for Solat? SubhanAllah.
Even the Prophet(s.a.w) enjoined us to be different from Christians and even other religions as much as possible. e.g - the fasting on Ashura. You forgot to mention that the Prophet(saw) said Muslims should fast also on the day BEFORE and AFTER Ashura SO AS TO BE DIFFERENT FROM THE JEWS. I will stop there for now.

AlBaqir:
There is absolutely nothing bad in "celebrating" it with a good intention.
But should not make it as a form of festival in any way as it will make them the same as Christians also celebrates Jesus(asw) birthday too. It is better not to celebrate it.

AlBaqir:
Muslims gives thanks to Allah, seek forgiveness of sins and ask for Allah's favor and blessing: This should be the definition and practice of our "Celebration".
Well said. Not partying.

AlBaqir:
It is hypocrisy for a muslim (e.g in Nigeria) to say he does not use Solar/Gregorian calendar.
I never say i do not use it. Because it is common in Nigeria.

AlBaqir:
Qur'an clarify surah Nisa :86 reads:
[color=#990000]"When you are greeted with a greeting, greet in return with what is better than it, or (at least) return it equally. Certainly Allah is Ever Careful Account Taker of all things"
I always wish any Christian happy new year with respect and in the best manner.
Due to your long post, i am not able to quote all your post. But, there is nothing uncivilized in reminding my Christian friend that he should "Wish Me Happy New Year When It's Hijrah New Year". And if it is, please do not hesitate to tell me. Salam alaekum.

Jazakumullah Khairan @ Creator of Topic(C of T).
Some people are just blind to the truth. It breaks my heart when i see some Muslims copying other religion acts that has no basis and evidence in Islam. Some ignorant Muslims even went as far as celebrating Gregorian new year, some even gathered in the mosques on the eve of it.THIS IS ABSOLUTELY BID'AH. PLEASE I AM BEGGING YOU PEOPLE TO STOP COMPLICATING THIS PERFECT ISLAM. PLEASE FOR ALLAH'S SAKE!!!

I would like to add these too:
Greeting them(christians) "Happy New Year" is allowed but not celebrating it with them.
When i greet a christian "Happy New Year" and he/she says "I Wish You The Same" , i will just say "Please Don't Wish Me The Same Now, Wish Me The Same When It's New Hijrah Year" .
There are only three festive days in Islam. .1.Eid-l-fitr .2.Eid-l-adha .3. Jum'ah days.
MUSLIMS JUST NEED TO BE ENLIGHTEN MORE ABOUT ISLAM. WE CAN DO OUR OWN BIT BY SHARING THE MESSAGE WITH OUR FELLOW BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN ISLAM.
May Allah guide us and them on the right path.AAMIIIN.

Like seriously , please emphasize how Aregbe destroyed GEJ, Omisore , PDP last august , they went as far as deploying 40,000 security men , DSS , Mpolice , Nscdc , even touts wearing uniforms were used , 10,000 sniffer dogs , Osunstate was locked down for 3 days ,whereas no riots , no fights , no bombs , no explosions , they just wanted to intimidate residents

There's power in words and its good to have a good reputation , Aregbesola said they learnt of plans to intimidate and arrest APC members , he stressed that no one should be afraid , he said even if he AregbeSola gets arrested , citizens should go out enmass and vote for APC

And truly when these security outfits came , they massed up , They , under the order and support from GEJ arrested lots of prominent APC members , they tried to arrest / assassinate Adeleke of Ede , the one and Only , that was the last straw , 3-4 former state governors teamed up with Aregbe , just as 3-4 ex presidents now back GMB

They tried to rig, they almost succeeded in rigging in favor of Omisore , every suspect caught with live and sensitive voting materials and weapons across the state was PDP member , residents caught two people who confessed their mission and were taken to a headquarters in Osogbo I think , All news stations including coretv news , channels and ,Osun TV : OSBC ,NTA Osogbo , had broadcasted the pictures and confessions of these suspects , then order came from the top to release the suspects

Anyways , we know they will attempt to rig this coming election , and they are trying to intimidate us with Warships even though Nigerian Army still can't purchase weapons

Trying intimidate us with tompolo and agoati Dokubo and the mend and massob , threatning us with Biafra and blaming the north

This year We will disgrace Jonathan , and if his clans want war , that's what they'll get. Enough is enough
What has Biafra got to do with this? Your post would have make much clarity if you don't put ethnic tune into your post. Please let's SAY NO TO TRIBALISM.

SportsFootball's Greatest Excuses by Occurstaem(op):
FOOTBALL’S GREATEST EXCUSES

Football is a beautiful game when you are winning and things are going your way. There are, however, times when you have to taste the bitterness of defeat, but for some managers and players it is simply too much to take in. As FIFA.com discovers, there are excuses ranging from comical to the absurd when some of the sport’s most recognisable names struggled to come to terms with adversity.

VLADISLAV VASHCHUK
Before Spain became the all-conquering force that swept all those who stood before them, they were known as a team who did not quite live up to their exquisite potential at major
tournaments. This is why it came as a surprise when they defeated Ukraine 4-0 in their opening game at the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany™. But it was not the fault of future Chelsea frontman Andriy Shevchenko in front of goal, or their leaky defence for the loss. It was in fact frogs. Yes, frogs! Defender Vladislav Vashchuk jumped at the chance to defend his team post-match. "Because of the frogs' croaking we hardly got a wink of sleep," Vashchuk explained. "We all agreed that we would take some sticks and go and hunt them."

JOSE MOURINHO
Upon Shevchenko’s arrival at Stamford Bridge, he was greeted by a man who has been the subject of more than a few headlines around Europe. But Jose Mourinho’s most infamous excuse came during his tenure at Real Madrid. After a Spanish Super Cup defeat to Barcelona in 2011, ‘The Special One’ launched a tirade on his bitter rivals. “What I'm about to say is not a criticism, I'm just stating a fact: there were no ball-boys in the second half, which is something typical of small teams when experiencing difficulties." The Catalan side had won just a mere ten trophies in three seasons before the tie. He used the same excuse at the weekend after Chelsea lost their unbeaten run at Newcastle United.

MARCO REZENDE
But while there is no doubting that ball boys play an important role during a match, a game cannot be played without a referee. Therefore, it became a slight problem when referee Marco Rezende failed to appear for River Plate’s Copa Libertadores last-16 clash with America of Mexico in 1998. The crowd were buoyant; the television cameras were ready to broadcast, but Rezende was more than one thousand miles away in Belo Horizonte, Brazil after claiming that “nobody informed me that I was appointed for that game." Due to the misunderstanding, the game was postponed and played a week later, with Santiago Solari scoring the only goal in his last game for River before moving to Spain.

FRANCESCO TOTTI & CHRISTIAN PANUCCI
Players that featured in his new surroundings of Italy's Serie A would become accustomed to the odd unusual outburst. Francesco Totti and Christian Panucci fell victim to the old adage ‘a bad workman always blames his tools’ after a disappointing 0-0 draw against Denmark at UEFA EURO 2004. Totti opted for the more credible excuse of blaming his boots, claiming that they were “like having your feet on boiling sand.” Panucci, on the other hand, went one step further and blamed his socks, claiming that “the thread that these socks were made with is too rough.”

SIR ALEX FERGUSON
In fairness they are not the only individuals to blame an uninspiring performance on their apparel. Sir Alex Ferguson made his team remove the now infamous grey away shirts at half-time against Southampton in 1996. Manchester United found themselves 3-0 down and on a run of four games without a win in that kit, and Fergie decided enough was enough. “Get that kit off, you’re getting changed," remembered Lee Sharpe. “Those were the first words he said at half-time... we certainly never played in it again." It made little difference. The Saints still ran out 3-1 winners.

TOMMY DOCHERTY
Manchester United’s most successful manager ever may have learned a thing or two from one of his predecessors, Tommy Docherty, whose Red Devils side were condemned to relegation from the English top flight in 1974. However, rather than admitting that the team were to blame for their poor performances, Docherty attributed the responsibility to the bus driver who had frequently turned up late throughout the season. Also while playing for debutants Scotland against Uruguay at the 1954 World Cup Switzerland™, the fiery midfielder laid blame to wearing old-fashioned thick woollen jerseys for their defeat to the then reigning world champions. "The Scottish FA assumed Switzerland was cold because it had mountains," explained Docherty. "You'd have thought we were going on an expedition to the Antarctic. The Uruguayans wore light V-neck shirts with short sleeves. No wonder we lost 7-0."

DAVID JAMES
The clothes that Angelina Jolie wore in the 2001 film Tomb Raider will be more likened to the South Americans than the Scots. Brad Pitt’s future wife played the role of Lara Croft, who was a popular video game character that David James became very accustomed to during his stint at Liverpool. The goalkeeper paid the price on match-days for an obsession with his Sony PlayStation® console and after a match against Newcastle United, where James was held responsible for three goals, the England goalkeeper revealed the cause of his lapses in concentration: "I was getting carried away playing Tomb Raider and Tekken II for hours on end."

Have Your Say.
What’s the best footballing excuse you’ve heard - either from a professional or someone you’ve played with?

IslamRe: The Practise Of Ihsan In Islam by Occurstaem(op):
(continued)
While dealing with other people, the most important aspects of Ihsan are giving, showing love, patience and forgiveness. {Those who spend (in the way of Allah) in prosperity and in adversity, who repress their anger and who forgive people; and Allah loves the Muhsineen (those who practice Ihsan), Al `Imran 3:134}, {So, forgive them and overlook (their offensive behaviour), verily, Allah loves the Muhsineen, Al-Ma’idah 5:13}, {Indeed, who maintains Taqwah and remains patient and steadfast, Allah does not let those who practice Ihsan lose their reward Yusuf 12:90}. It applies to what we say as well: {And say to my slaves that they should utter only what is the best(Ahsan), Al-Israa` 17:53}.

Once the Messenger of Allah asked his companions: “Should I guide you to the qualities, because of which, Allah raises people’s ranks?” On affirmative response, he said, “Be patient (forbearing) with him who treats you ignorantly; forgive him who is unfair to you; give him who deprives you; and, fulfill social obligations to the relative who is delinquent in doing his part.” ~ reported from ‘Ubadah Ibn Saamit in Targheeb wa Tarheb with reference to At-Tabarani. The same message was conveyed, among other things, in the following Hadith: The Messenger of Allah said, “My Lord has commanded me nine qualities: 1. Fearing Allah both secretly and openly; 2. Saying only the words of justice both when angry and when happy; 3. Maintaining moderation both during poverty and affluence; 4. Making up (social obligations and relationships) with a relative who shirks his obligation to me or breaks away from me; 5. Giving even to the person who deprives me; 6. Forgiving him who is unjust to me; 7. Reflecting when I am quiet; remembering Allah when I speak; and, learning lessons from what I see, 8. Enjoining good; and, 9. Forbidding evil.” ~ Abu Hurayrah in Mishkaatul Masaabeeh.

Normally, responding to negative behaviour in the best manner and practicing Ihsan consistently as mentioned in the verses and Ahadith given above, results in winning the hearts of those who are treated with Ihsan. So much so that it has the potential of converting enemies into loving friends, as stated in
the following verse: {Good (Hashanah) and evil are not equal. Respond in a way that is the best. Then, he between whom and you was enmity will become as if he was a close friend, Fussilat 41:34}. Sometimes, however, a person practicing Ihsan may not individually witness the benefits of his best practices. In such situations, a sincere believer may feel discouraged, used, or broken-hearted. Allah SWT assures them that: {Verily, Allah does not let the Muhsineen (those who practice Ihsan) lose their reward, At-Taubah 9:120, Hud 11:115, Yusuf 12:56 & 90}. {We do not let the reward of one who performs in the most excellent (Ahsana) manner be lost Al-Kahf 18:30}. He also assured: “{Allah is with those who have Taqwah and practice Ihsan An-Nahl 16:128}, {Allah’s Mercy is near those who practice Ihsan Al- A’raf 7:56}, {Yes indeed, who turns his face submissively toward Allah and he practices excellence (Ihsan), his reward is with his Lord Al- Baqarah 2:112}, {For those who perform excellently (Ahsanul Husna) is the best (reward) and even more Yunus 10:26}.

Hence, Allah expects us to perform in the best possible way that we can: {Who can be better in religion than one who submits totally to Allah in submission and practices Ihsan, An-Nisa` 4:125}. {And Practice Ihsan, Allah loves those who practice Ihsan, Al- Baqarah 2:195}. And finally, the rewards Allah has promised to those who practice Ihsan are also the best. For example: {Is the reward for excellence other than (Ihsan) excellent, Ar-Rahman 55:60}, {To reward those who do their best with what is the best(Ahsanu Bil Husna), An-Najm 53:31}

IslamThe Practise Of Ihsan In Islam by Occurstaem(op):
{And spend of your substance in the way of Allah – and make not your own hands contribute to your destruction - And practice Ihsan, Allah loves those who practice Ihsan, Al-Baqarah 2:195}

Ihsan also ehsan or ahsan is an Arabic term meaning "perfection" or "excellence," which is related to the word "goodness" (Arabic. husn). It is a matter of taking one's inner faith (Iman) and showing it in both deed and action, a sense of social responsibility borne from religious convictions. In Islam, Ihsan is the Muslim responsibility to obtain perfection, or excellence in worship, such that Muslims try to worship Allah) as if they see Him (as if they are in His presence), and although they cannot see Him (due to the belief that Allah is not made of materials), they undoubtedly believe that He is constantly watching over them and aware of everything that is done, thought and verbalised. That definition comes from the Hadith (known as the Hadith of Gabriel/Jibreel) in which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) states, "[Ihsan is] to worship Almighty Allah as though you see Him, and if you cannot see Him, then indeed He sees you." ~ Al-Bukhari and Muslim.

Ihsan, also meaning "to do beautiful and righteous things", is one of the three dimensions of the Islamic religion: Islam, Iman and Ihsan. In contrast to the emphases of Islam (the outer expression and exterior acts of worship or what one should do) and Iman (why one should do), the concept of Ihsan is primarily associated with absolute intention. One who "does what is beautiful and righteous” is called a Muhsin. It is generally held that a person can only achieve true Ihsan with the help and guidance of Almighty Allah, who governs all things. Some Islamic scholars explain Ihsan as being the inner dimension of Islam whereas Shariah is often described as the outer dimension: Ihsan then means striving to reach the best standards of performance in any circumstances or situations. It represents excellence, graciousness and benevolence. While ‘Adl (fairness and justice) requires satisfactory performance of one’s obligations to others and fulfilling the rights of others on oneself, Ihsan suggests doing more than that which a person is obligated to do and giving more to others than what they are entitled to. Thus, while ‘Adl ensures peace and security of human society, Ihsan makes it loving and caring and adds beauty to it. It is the single most distinguishing feature that raises a human society above any other creations of Allah.

That is why Allah has mentioned the following in five different verses of the Holy Qur'an:
{Allah loves those who practice Ihsan, ~ Al-Baqarah 2:195, Al-`Imran 3:134 & 148, Al-Ma’idah 5:13 & 93}. Like ‘Adl, Ihsan is a comprehensive concept that covers all human affairs whether it is about one’s relationship with Allah, interactions with people or fulfilling social obligations. When it is applied to one’s relationship with Allah, it represents excellence in servitude to Allah so that a person performs his servitude to Allah as if Allah is right in front of him keenly observing his performance. Naturally, when we perform worship with a consciousness that we are being observed by Allah , our performance is going to be the most sincere and the most excellent just as people perform better when they are being watched by those in whose good books they want to be in e.g. a supervisor/manager or best friend. When The Messenger of Allah was asked what is Ihsan, he responded: “You fear Allah as if you are seeing Him, even if you cannot see Him, He is watching you”, ~ reported by Abu Hurayrah in Bukhari and Muslim.

When it is about people, it represents benevolence towards people and graciousness in dealings. The most important in this respect is Ihsan towards one’s parents. {We have enjoined on man to behave with his parents with Ihsan, Al-Ahqaf 46:15}
IslamSeven Reasons To Read The Glorious Quran by Occurstaem(op): 9:27am On Dec 12, 2014
By OI Africa Editing Team
Friday, 28 November 2014 00:00
Editor’s Note:
This article is taken, with slight
editorial modifications, from
IslamHouse website.
The following seven reasons
make the Qur'an a must-read
book:

1. Inimitable
It dares you to disprove it. How?
It says that humans cannot write
a book like this even if they
pooled all their resources
together and got help also from
the spirits.
The Qur’an said this issue
fourteen hundred years ago and
yet no one has been able to
disprove it. Billions of books have
been written-but not another
one like the Qur’an.

2. Incorruptible
It is the only religious sacred
writing that has been in
circulation for such a long time
and yet remains as pure as it was
in the beginning. The Qur’an was
kept intact.
Nothing was added to it; nothing
was changed in it; and nothing
was taken away from it ever
since its revelation was
completed 1400 years ago.

3. Unsurpassable
The Qur’an is God’s final
revelation to humankind.
God revealed the Torah to Moses,
the Psalms to David, the Gospel to
Jesus, and finally the Qur’an to
Muhammad peace and blessings
be upon Moses, David, Jesus and
Muhammad. No other book will
come from God to surpass His
final revelation.

4. Indisputable
The Qur’an withstands the test of
time and scrutiny. No one can
dispute the truth of this book. It
speaks about past history and
turns out right. It speaks about
the future in prophecies and it
turns out right.
It mentions details of physical
phenomena which were not
known to people at the time; yet
later scientific discoveries prove
that the Qur’an was right all
along.
Every other book needs to be
revised to accord with modern
knowledge. The Qur’an alone is
never contradicted by a newly
discovered scientific fact.

5. Your Roadmap for Life and
Afterlife
The Qur’an is the best guidebook
on how to structure your life. No
other book presents such a
comprehensive system involving
all aspects of human life.
The Qur’an also points out the
way to secure everlasting
happiness in the afterlife. It is
your roadmap showing how to
get to Paradise.

6. God’s Gift of Guidance
God has not left you alone. You
were made for a reason. God tells
you why he made you, what he
demands from you and what he
has in store for you.
If you operate a machine
contrary to its manufacturer’s
specification you will ruin that
machine. What about you? Do
you have an owner’s manual for
yourself? The Qur’an is from your
Maker. It is a gift for you to make
sure you function for success,
lest you fail to function.
It is a healing from God. It
satisfies the soul, and cleans the
heart. It removes doubts and
brings peace.

7. Your Calling Card to
Communicate with your Lord
Humans are social creatures. We
love to communicate with other
intelligent life. The Qur’an tells us
how to communicate with the
source of all intelligence and the
source of all life.
The Qur’an tells us who God is, by
what name we should address
Him, and the way in which to
communicate with Him.
Are these not seven sufficient
reasons for reading the Qur’an?

Out of 100k people in osogbo, only 10k people came to vote, yet the media outlets said there is a high turn out. APC is up to no good...
Fallacy. Propaganda. Are you an INEC officials ? The number of voters alone in Osogbo local government is more than 15000. So,who are you trying to confuse with your lies.

Press Statement
APC's Fake Electoral Victory Celebration
We noticed with dismay the desperate bid of
the All Progressive Congress to discredit the final
results of the governorship election in Osun
state through publication of fake election results
and celebration of false electoral victory.
In the last four hours, the APC has been
publishing several concorted results which are
clearly against the reality of certified results
been collated by the electoral commission . The
party had brazenly assigned itself the task of
collating and announcing results which are
doctored and designed to undermine the
credibility of the official results when finally
announced.
By circulating fake results ,the APC intends to
prove to the world that the election was rigged
even when in reality the collation process was
yet to start before its illegal action.
The party has also proceeded to direct it's
supporters to commence celebration in towns
and villages. Even in wards where the APC lost,
the supporters followed the script by rolling out
drums in celebration of a non existing victory.
This is also part of a ploy to declare the final
official results as manipulated in preparation for
their usual tribunal battle. It is an elaborate plot
to steal the Peoples mandate through the
backdoor as the outgoing governor did after
2007 election .
We therefore urge our teeming supporters to
ignore the fabrications of the APC. We inform
Nigerians and the good people of Osun state
that the PDP is leading based on results collated
so far and any concerted results has no basis in
facts and legality .
We await the official results from the electoral
commission and we are convinced that the final
results will confirm the electoral victory of
Senator Iyiola Omisore.

Diran Odeyemi
Director of Media & Strategy

Absolutely rubbish. Who is posting fake results? With Fani Kayode posting fake and false results on facebook in favour of his PDP and yet you are writing rubbish here. People Deceiving People, I hail thee.

I just can not imagine what would have happened if PDP won this election. They would be harassing everybody just like they did when they won in Ekiti. Some of them even go as far as raining curses on AREGBE.
I thank God Almighty for bringing AREGBE to the State of Osun.

A fake DSS agent was arrested by original DSS agents at Oranmiyan tower,Lagere in Ife central.Even her uniform tells it all. When she was stripped, her thighs were marked with tattooes. It is as if she is a prostitute.
Also at Esa Oke, two fake policemen were arrested while trying to intimidate voters.

People voted massively for AREGBE. An old man of about 70years was beaten at Ife Central in Obalejugbe because he voted for AREGBE.
