Codedrock: United States and the United Kingdom have refused to dabble in the N255m bulletproof cars scandal rocking the aviation sector.Which UK be superpower? ![]() |
Page 1 of this thread has spoken to the OP what people feel about the horror they were encouraged to watch so I will not belabour it again Just need to chip in to the OP that benchmark against global standards if you mean to produce an animation movie ![]() |
It says a lot when team of grown men pin their hopes on an 18 year old rookie [no matter how a budding talent] ![]() Truly the mighty are fallen Seems Spurs are getting a champion's league spot this season after all |
adaobi123: You could try natwestWould ask if they are not like HSBC as regards international students and put them on my short-list Thanks Dis Guy: They are all the same to be honestDo you know any? ![]() Leaning towards Barclay's or Llyods for now Why I was asking this best bank question is I know someone who banked with them about4 years back Told me they levied him all kind of charges then |

Comic relief whenever you need one ![]() So kilometre 46 Ibadan Expressway is no longer in vogue to kneel for payers, Israel is the in vogue destination ![]() Maybe his next destination to pray will be space like that Muslim astronaut His picture kneeling before Adeboye in the 2011 election countdown swayed many to vote him thinking him to be humble Now another serpentine move in far away Israel to sway the gullible This dude should grow up and stop making a mockery of his office He's supposedly the president of Nigeria who has made public kneeling before men his past time Practice your religion in private, kneel if you must in private but stand and be strong for you and us [Nigerians] in public ![]() |
fckyourman: Barclays is the best. 735 i: Really? Can you please tell us why it's better?I concur with 735i adaobi123: You're better of going to a NORMAL university. ![]() |
Hello y'all Please what is the best bank to open an account with as an international student? I'm thinking HSBC or Barclay's as their product's offerings are the same on paper From my online research, it seems foreign students are only allowed to open basic accounts Please advice Thank you |
3kay945: Is Jonathan there for holy pilgrimage or excursion?Exactly the first thing which struck me too was did Jonathan go to Israel to hold a village meeting? ![]() Just see them on their jamboree Was this not the same Jonathan who promised in the aftermath of the fuel subsidy riots to reduce his entourage of foreign trips as a way of conserving resources? ![]() Was El Rufai wrong when he called Orisejafor PDP's religious secretary? ![]()

adaobi123:Women! When they are younger, they want to grow up quick When they are older, they attempt to freeze the ticking hands of time A wise man once told me, you can never understand a woman You can only try and love her ![]() No wonder! To more serious things, I saw a item scrolling on TVC earlier today that Nigerian banks are facing a liquidity squeeze Hope no one is affected? ![]() Hope its not serious Cos I know many use their Naija bank issued ATMs here |
Nice one Sepp Seeing the local football overlords and many football 'fans' did not deem it fit to honour Yekini's memory ![]() |
Don Oms: Mr Ochukoccna, now this is just for the record. I always feel your comments here and on the sister thread (besides the recent hunt for better-tasting beer though...lol). You always have the right words, perfect humour and sarcasm and a very good delivery. Personally, I think you should have a blog if you don't have one yet. As for royalsweetness, she asked the question because she needed answers. And she was only being humorous in her reply as you were.Thank you bruv for the compliment Many others who know me in flesh and blood have pointed it out too Will look for a way to use it for more positively ![]() Hope you've adapted to Newcastle's wintry winds ![]() Wetin brewed hops and water una you sef? @ op, thank you for bringing up this discourse What particularly struck me was this Madam Uzoma of Immigration was 1st, then barth nnaji, then recently odimegwu from NPC... Who's next? When will we realise we're the ones shooting ourselves in the foot?seeing on NL of late, we've been regaled with tales of how the Ijaw/Igbo alliance is going to rescue Nigeria from Hausa/Fulani wrought desolation and all sorts of bunkum yet why is it mainly the Igbos and those aligned with them who have been sacked for financial impropriety alongside lack of diplomacy and tact? ![]() Hmnn! ![]() |
The president Goodluck National conference is another diversionary circus aimed at setting the north against the south in a war of words that will only overheat the polity without addressing the problems of the country. It’s a blackmail and a mischievous political chess game meant to hang the fate of the nation on the continuity of the Jonathan Goodluck regime. The meat of his arguments But sadly Nigerians don't think ![]() |
Rossikk: Stop this beer parlour analysis. So why haven't Guardian, Punch, Observer, Vanguard and co folded up since ''everyone is now online''? Why are there even any mags at all or papers being sold on the streets, with more being introduced daily, like Hello! Magazine Nigeria... Fact is MILLIONS of folks still buy papers and mags with no intention of stopping, and there are still heavy profits to be made in the publishing business. Personally I buy papers, plus still go online. Both have their levels. And how is it beer parlour analysis? Especially for a newspaper that is going to be another propaganda outlet like Gbenga Daniel's Compass How many NEW newspapers have survived and had a decent patronage to stay afloat? ![]() The best of the lot based content and good journalism was 234Next and I believe you know what has happened to it I recall Observer used to be everywhere on the streets of Lagos when growing up but I can't recall when last it was so readily available The PUNCH, Guardian and Vanguard are about the best Nigerian newspapers and you mustn’t discard their staying power having learnt the ropes so long ago Apart from the Leadership [which seems concentrated in Abuja] name any new Nigerian newspaper of late which is making a serious statement ![]() Correct your MILLIONS of folks to HUNDREDs OF THOUSANDs regarding your circulation figures for Nigerian newspapers Globally, newspaper circulation figures are dropping and Nigeria is not an oasis different from the rest Even the globally acclaimed Newsweek had to cease physical printing and go totally online because the financials didn't add up Our dear old Punch tested paying to access their content online and had to drop the ludicrous idea because their rivals esp Thisday had readers flocking there The Internet might not totally eradicate print media but you must understand that is where many people source their information from esp for free in this age and time |
What part of Nigeria was this video shot? The dude is definitely amazing Reminds me of a policeman on traffic duties some years at Anthony who did similar antics |
adaobi123: Alcoholics adaobi123: A.L.C.O.H.O.L.I.C.SAlcoholics ke?! Which one be that ?Sipping bottles every now and then doesn't make one an alcoholic ![]() Nah,binging on alcohol does ![]() Not to worry, your coming of age party should happen sometime soon You'll soon legally get to know how it tastes ![]() |
royalsweetness: Lol, that's why I asked the question here and thank you for finally replying. I think your reply makes a lot of sense. But you did not have to insult me. Stop answering mumuishly.Run through a friend/trusted associate/family ,your intended decision to give to a total stranger 40-50% of around £10,000 and watch them hail you as wiser than King Solomon ever was ![]() Trust Nigerians to always justify the errors of their ways What makes a lot of sense is now tagged answering mumuishly Do you not see the paradox in your reply? ![]() It was not an insult, you took it that way because your emotions suppressed your rationality No be your fault, na my eagerness to help out; pardon me this wrong which will not happen again ![]() |
FutureDon: I agree with Dis Guy, the imported Guiness will always make you feel like say you dey NaijaAhh I see you've been exploring store sections people like Adaobi will be flogged for if they dare venture towards Alomo tins never enlisted me in Naija but ........ k-solo2013:You wan make I 'import' But that na good price O! Even regular price is 2.60 which beats the 3.50 price of the one I take wash one plate of pounded yam over here ![]() |
royalsweetness: I tried doing it but the card was declined, I went to the bank to ask why, and the customer service guy at the bank says he can help me tell his friend over there to pay the tuition and when its paid, I can pay him. I don't even know which one to trust or what to do again@ royalsweetness, why are you behaving and speaking like an infant? ![]() This is hard earned money you are speaking of Many UK schools tell you they do not accept Nigerian issued debit cards to do such transactions Is the customer service rep doing it in an official capacity or a private one? ![]() Do you know him that well personally that you would do a transaction involving millions with a stranger? ![]() Can you not find out the modalities of opening a GBP domiciliary account, fund it and wire the money for yourself? ![]() If you are not doing that, do you not have a trusted associate who has such an account and who you can hold accountable? ![]() Even at that speak to your bank manager or his/her delegated associate on options open for you to wire your money ![]() Stop acting mumuishly |
redsun: Bad comment from Femi.It doesn't necessarily have to be exactly how Fela did as long as the message represent emancipation.Fela is a personification radicalism, change, transformations and epics.its no bad comment seeing Dede Mabiaku confirmed same and seriously scolded an African idol wannabe who pulled the same stunt The epic Fela with his radical personification, change, transformations never pulled a stupid stunt like that ON STAGE If Burna was in his house, no qualms Lets not smuggle in and tag on Fela, something he never did ![]() Accurately represent Fela's legacy ![]() BTW, it was Seun not Femi who made the comment |
Who's stunning? The afro lady in the background picture or the pale human like mannequin posing near her? ![]() |
Itstyme: @Ochukoccna,I don't know much about Australia but it seems a place to go to if emigration is at the back of your mind The best of the lot is Canada knowing in 3 years you can get your legit citizenship papers unlike the UK Personally wanted to go to Canada when my initial attempts to come to the UK were delayed but the school told me I could only get a refund of my initial deposit if I was refused an entry visa [yet EU and UK citizens could get theirs back with no strings attached] ![]() If you are planning on emigration look to Canada and Australia [though I must admit I don't know much about Australia but it seems to hold better allure than the UK so do your research and confirm] UK dey look for your money, datz all I recall looking around during a general class yesterday and seeing majority of the Masters students are from Asia and Africa, a little from Eastern Europe and the least were UK citizens If many of foreign students sought out studying else were, UK go shake financially ![]() |
Dis Guy: ahh the joysss of drinking tea, you guys should try it!!I don stock up on green tea and coffee for winter2013 In fact the local Tesco and Asda store managers commended me for emptying their inventories ![]() Na their import label brew remain to explore ![]() |

No be small 7-10 recommended texts. It's so annoying, I thought they were supposed to be brief as opposed to Naija system. The reading isn't easy at all. Sometimes you find out that peeps have already booked the books in advance.Ha ha Jen1 No be you VFS go do visa Interview tell oyinbo man to give you visa ![]() Take it on your chin babe, grow in this new system, create your own content and watch jobs call at the hotcake you've become ![]() |
omenka: @ 3!!! That is exactly the purpose of Ngozi's statement!!! To deceive people into believing it is a "we against them" thing!! Such a pity people like yourself are already taking the bait! I fear for the future of this country!!I agree with you whole heartedly In a nation riven by tribal and religious sensitivities, NOI's statement is a very callous statement to make Especially seeing she swore an oath to uphold the unity of the country If she was a member of Aka Ikenga or one of the numerous ethnocentric groups which litter Nigeria one would permit this statement Yet one is not surprised for this is the very hallmark of the GEJ presidency, WE AGAINST THEM-DIVIDE AND RULE attitude He [GEJ] is just fulfilling his destiny to balkanise Nigeria and bankrupt it, after all we are hearing the issues the federation account is having. |

[/s]The beer here is water mehn and I've not visited any pubs nor clubs yetStill integrating and na book I come read nah! ![]() Its not like Star, Gulder, Big Stout where 2 bottles will begin to tell your body, something dey here 2 cans of Guinness, Guinness Draughts , Newcastle Brown Ale etc just feel like 2 cups of water afterwards Never was into Heineken back home but you heard saw most guys push it aside for our local brew Can anyone recommend a beer here that is at par with our local brew back home whey pesin fit take indoors and get a good night sleep? ![]() Thanks |
justwise: [/b] justwise: If you get a room for 300-350 pounds a month including all bills then you 'might' survive on 150 pounds a month...hoping that your school is a walking distance from your house.Justwise is SPOT ON regarding having money for at least 6 months in this land I understood better when I got here It is a WONDERFUL place to live, if you can pay your bills That been said if you have relatives/friends who WILL WILLINGLY help, that's great That apart, this land will unleash its horrors to you However recall Justwise telling you might survive on 500quid a month Firstly, its because Inner London IS THE MOST EXPENSIVE PLACE IN THE UK and this has higher bills Also note that he's assuming 300-350 will get you 'liveable accommodation' for up north I know students paying as about that in private accommodation The rest 150 will be mostly on feeding and a few essentials minus clothing and transportation He and by extension me are not trying to scare you but letting you know what awaits So do plan your coming well before buying your plane ticket You might take out time know learn and acquire skills you can trade for cash when you start hustling here Life is simpler here but then the thing about the white man is , SHOW ME THE MONEY Wish you well |
So our home grown Al Shabab and their allies on are spending the benjamins It was the first lieutenant who started the jamboree, he bought himself a private jet The thug enforcer followed with his own glorified school in Benin Republic Their sister in law got a parastatal under her ministry to buy her 2 bullet proof cars With her mouthpieces still screaming she did no wrong, their grand daddy launches a foundation for his own While his adopted clueless son bumbles on as a kindergarten leader What a family tree! ![]() |
