mz_enna: I arrived London yesterday, excited much. This thread rocks!!!
Eyah
So happy for you
Heard the weather is starting to get chilly
Leave some for us to partake of when we arrive grin grin

justwise: No worries.
If you have a mobile phone with open network come with it, when you get here buy lycamobile or lebara sim card, for about a pound, top up is 5 pounds, a lot cheaper to call Nigeria and local calls.
Don't forget your winter jacket, it starting to get cold here now.
Thanks bruv
Will sure do

HOS13: Ok. Well, I don't think you should bother so much about the address. You may write your university's address in your landing card and it is unlikely the immigration officer will ask you.
I never said you should pay for any room without inspecting it first. I was only suggesting that you should start scouting early because securing private accommodation can be a hustle.
Good luck.
Nah you got it mixed up grin grin
It was the immigration peeps at the airport I meant to tell that [about inspecting the room] but Justwise has clarified with a better answer to guive 'em

Yep I'm all for the early scouting too
Already on it sef

BTW, am curious
About how many GBP this first generation bank wan sell you? undecided
Allotted BTA limits? huh huh

Dis Guy: most UK forums are interest specific- they discuss based on interest, cars-even that would be broken up into car models etc, career, sports, travel etc etc
you can also try the newspapers for raw unadulterated discussions
you can try mumsnet too grin
Mumsnet ke!
I did a quick check by mobile and see its more attuned for expectant parents
Is there no site like Nairaland?
On here you even see other nationalities come to learn and contribute [some come to troll] about Nigeria
Seun might not have realised it, but he created about the best social media site in Nigeria at this moment in time
There's hardly any info you need about goings on in Nigeria and human interests you can't find here
Are there no British sites which mirror this? huh huh embarassed

justwise: If you are asked tell them that you have made a temporarily accommodation(hotel etc) arrangement where you will stay until you find a permanent accommodation.
Be very careful with gumtree, its a hot-bed of scammers, you can use roomates, its safer than gumtree
Oga justwise, thank you for all your help in this travel section to Nigerians and other nationalities not only those who want to study now, are studying but even those travelling for other reasons.
To think you moderate the travel section, answer questions, give advice and then run your own hustle is awesome
On behalf of all of us, I say thank you

I take note about Gumtree shocked

flamesssy: Good day everyone, please I seriously need an advise as regard to choice of schooling in the UK, aiming to start schooling by January 2014, with a budget of N3.5mil a year for both tuition and accommodation, I'm in for an undergraduate program on either Human resources or Information technology, so if you can help me with accurate details about a good school in a good area in the UK, I'll be grateful. anyone with any piece of advice should please reply or add me on bbm pin:28C8E643 . Thanks and hoping to get a reasonable reply as soon as posible.
You are the wrong thread
Seek your answer from this thread https://www.nairaland.com/826936/uk-student-visa-tier-4/192#18084712

That apart, this site will be of help if you are really serious http://www.thecompleteuniversityguide.co.uk/league-tables/
But for now, you are almost late in initiating January admission at this point in time
To speed it up, you might seek a reputable and well recognised Education Consultancy [there are many mushroom ones out there]
My 2 cents
Sorry I can't recommend any, cos its against the rules here

I recall my interviewer smiling when I told her during the interview that the I couldn't get back a refund of my initial deposit from the university I had applied to. cool cool

mayo47: Am not sure the mail attachment would be a gud idea, i think its best u communicate with ur uni about modifying the date on ur CAS.
The mail is good to go as long as he prints it showing the email address and date of correspondence
Also do know that UKBA knows the latest start date even if it is not indicated on the CAS as their database is updated with all this info the school sends you in form of a PDF

@ op, I answer your topic's headline with the quote below
[size=14pt]Ebele Jonathan's destiny is to bankrupt & balkanise Nigeria-Pastor Tunde Bakare.[/size]
Personally I felt it was sour grapes coming from him seeing he and his principal Buhari lost the 2011 presidential elections
However with hindsight, he was spot on

It is said that there is honour amongst thieves yet as Nigerians must not lose the fact that PDP's current schism is an internal implosion brought about by the fact a bandit amongst a band of bandits now believes he's smarter than them all because he's the visible face of the gang
I leave you all to go figure the above

ssii: He is! Since after the civil war, Nigerians have never been divided along tribal lines as they do now. GEJ rode on the goodwill of the northerm govs who supported him against their own to get the PDP ticket. According to the PDP arrangements, it was the north's turn.
A western Obj ensured he got the support with the agreement that GEJ Will serve one tern.
But what is playing out today, in bid to do a 2nd GEJ and his handlers are telling everyone the north does not want him, the west hates him and its a fight between the SS and every other region.
But does GEJ really have the interest of SS at heart? Apart from the empowerment of militants especially through oiltheft and phoney contracts , has the SS really benefited from GEJ presidency? The man should stop tribal sentiments to advance his personal
The above poster captures the current Nigerian political happenings perfectly
What is there to add? cool cool

Please can one apply for Visa for February intake...
Since gurus like Justwise have advised you (even your school is saying Febuary),stick to his advice
I know you are eager to resume in Sept going by your posts but just wait
Painful as it was, I defered my January admission till Sept because I would have run foul of UKBA's 28 day rule
Your wait is even going to be shorter kiss wink wink

@ justwise. Have made arrangements for my full tuition fee paid . And now what is left is the 7200 pounds. I have my dad's bank statement with 2.5million in it. It has beeen der for 4 months without going beyond.i also have a letter of sponsorship permitting me to utilize the funds for my maintenance. Do u fink am gud 2 go.

I recall reading on this looooooonnnnnngggg but very insighful thread that your upkeep money should be in your account for not less than 28 days and not more than 60 days
Please confirm from the gurus

Like Justwise said, take time to tidy your papers before applying again

Yet recall it is the same Sammmy who was tweaking scripts so that Sammy products would show better stats when running benchmark tests
