Other than his allegiance to democracy over a decade ago, he is still as inflexible as his ramrod stature.

El-Rufai knew how to work the system, and somehow, it made him into a sort of public cause célèbre. He somehow helps to show us the bad side of the system because he has not been the good side himself. In the way he allocated land, we learned how government shares our resources. From his role as a lackey, we knew how people moved up in government. From his serial betrayals, we understood that playing the harlot is the way to gains. As master, he made people work for him and that, ironically, is how you command loyalists even if you are not one yourself. As a critic and “revolutionary,” he is trying to come full cycle. He is telling us that he can reveal and revel in the rottenness of our system, he being part of it.

He knows how to game the system, draw attention to himself, laugh at us, and still sleep well at night. From the recent fight with the system, he has shown that you can move from being an establishment mainstay to a nemesis of the system. We need more of him

She gathered just 3 persons in Lagos and asked them to say something about their power supply, and all of them said that power had not increased and that they had not had light for 3 weeks!!! Those are the views of an average Nigerian, right? *smh*.

I stay in Benin and Power has improved on my end for many many months now except for some few times when there are National issues, like last Friday till Wednesday this week when we had a terrible supply probably cos of the new Benin-Onitsha Transmission Line repairs. THIS IS FACT.

Amanpour just behaved as badly as that other CNN presenter (the Kenya Guy- I have forgotten his name) who presented an extremely wrong programme on the Niger Delta crisis some years ago, and just like this programme also gathered FAKE persons to conduct his interviews. Nigeria protested, He was SACKED and that ended his International career. She ought to know better.

Almost everybody around me has witness one form of robbery or the other and i begin to wonder if the Government is aware and what they are doing about it.

1) My car was stolen around 9pm at gun-point in front of the house.
2) A member was recently robbed at gun-point infront of Shoprite at ikeja while in traffic
3) My brother's friends were robbed in front of their house @ gun-point too.
4) Two Family friends that just arrived from overseas last discovered that their bags had been torn and some items were missing at the airport.
5)A friend's husband was rough-handled on his street by two guys that wanted to snatch is wrist-watch.

I think most of this crimes are committed by the jobless youths that roam the streets as a result of the ban of okada, traffic hawkers etc in lagos now.

Government needs to create something for this guys to fall back on else the masses will continue to pay dearly for it.

Lets hear your experiences and what can be done to curtail this.

BREAKING NEWS: John Yusuf rearrested by the EFCC

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has re- arrested a director of the Police Pension Office, Mr. John Yusuf.

Yusuf was set free by a Federal Capital Territory High Court, Abuja on Monday after paying N750,000 fine for conniving with others to defraud the office and pensioners of N27.2bn,.

Spokesperson for the EFCC, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, told our correspondent in Abuja on Tuesday that Yusuf was re-arrested today because there were other pending cases against him.

Yusuf , Uwujaren said, would be re-arraigned to face fresh charges.

FutureDon: Before Oga Justwise shares his thoughts, let me drop a few lines. I know that's a lot of money to dash out to any School. It is logical to conclude that such visa application would be refused if the required fund was not in your account for 28days before submission.

It seems your mind is made up already, deliberately allowing BHC to deny your visa application might not be a nice start to 'building' travel history. Unless you have a good travel history already(different strokes for different embassy though). I know you are trying to take precautions, luckily you might have a different story to tell as an international student. 'e no work for lagbaja no mean say e no go work for tamedo'

My opinion though. I can only wish you luck with your decisions.

I too had thought of the merit in deliberately allowing BHC to deny my visa application might not be a nice start to 'building' my travel history which is non existent [as oyinbo prefer EU, Americas travel history] as of now
I have written to have the course deferred till September/October entry and will go to the UK [though Canada seems a better destination hustlewise]
It will also afford me the opportunity to go in orderly & prepared to the UK [and by extension the EU] instead rushing in as I would do for January
Just now have to find what to do till July/August seeing I had wound up my hustle here in anticipation of relocating out of Africa for a season of life
Though this travel section is definitely bookmarked to learn and ask questions from those who have the answers
