Onatisi abeg u don miss am. I personally met with the VO when I went for my interview with my family. And you know the first thing she said? She said 'I know you from nairaland' I was stunned. You don't have to believe me but that's the truth. Just accept that you are wrong Ehn. Pele o.

Pipsland78: For those looking to relocate to the US, the ease of getting a good job should be paramount and thus should guide our decision on which state and city to move to. Read this latest report by Forbes about the 10 best cities for job growth and you will understand why I've been shouting Texas, Texas all along:
www.forbes.com/sites/danielfisher/2013/02/25/texas-dominates-the-best-cities-for-good-jobs/

Yes its true Texas is a very good place for immigrants to settle but not every body will settle in Texas our prayer shld be wherever we find our feet God shld make us prosper there and that God shld order our steps in d right direction. May we find favour before God and man. All is well.

femix005: I need someone to help me out here...I met my girlfriend sometimes last year. And she told me she won visa lottery, but along the way she ask me if am interested, so that we can go there and start a life USA. But to me, I don't really know anyything about it.but she let me know that she gave it to an agent to process it for us and she collect my details and they send it to KCC. After some months. They gave her Interview date which include my name. But she later told me that the agent is still asking her for money after giving her money already and she has not done anything like medical and police report. I try to help her persuade the agent but e said no. What I need from you guys:

1.Can we do it by ourself as we have details of our Dv lottery without contacting him again.

2. What are the requirement we are going to need

I will really appreciate you guys advise as d interview date is lesss than two week.

Thank u.
Are u guys married? How did she include ur name? Was ur name stated as one of the beneficiaries in her 2NL? These are questions u need to answer cos ur case sounds some how complex

Obatide: Greeting to Everybody
Thanks for the intelligent we have all displayed to analyze one of my posts, I duly appreciate both reactions, at least, it makes people to contribute and share their honest feeling, God bless us all.
In summary
1. It shows we are all one big family and need more information to succeed on this journey whilst keeping in touch as mates even in America.
2. Those who argued against creation of the new thread, said so not to abandon this current one while those in support share that too, but in addition, they considered rules guiding posting on Nl as well.
What prompts me to suggest a thread for ‘that’ purpose are:
I Observed that
1. Most of members who have had their visas approved are not that active on the thread unlike their activities before interview except very few of them. Do u notice that too?
2. This thread, ‘2014 Dv winners meet here’ deals with necessary process needed to have a successful interview
3. The thread; ‘Diversity visa immigrant? Welcome to America’ contains information we need after arriving America (I have been a regular poster there too, pls read). Hence, the stage between Successful approval of visa and Arrival in USA has not been comprehensively discussed like the two mentioned threads.
4. Most of 2013 people do try their best to assist on information there but work don’t give them that total freedom as in my personal chat with some of them to ensure they contribute regularly on 2014 thread, you will hear something like ‘You wouldn’t understand until you get here, because time is money here in America, but I do reply those who mailed memy concern is what happen to people who don’t have their mail or social medial handle but need such info too?
5. There is need to graduate the processes, which I believe will keep us together. Say
a. 2014 Dv winners meet here; process towards interview
b. Yet to be created thread; planning Migration after successful Interview
c. Diversity visa immigrant? Welcome to America; settling down in USA
My submission
1. I appeal and promise that this thread will not suffer as a result of graduated process
2. Having a graduated process will bond us together the more and give each segment a full sense of belonging
3. There will not be deviation from Subject matters of each thread; hence NL rule will be kept.
Conclusion
I have no inferior motive behind creation of the thread and don’t think NL pays those who have created topics before, so my motive is to enable us rub mind together on every stage of the process to avoid extortions and exploitations by Agents.
Therefore, I suggest that if anybody could edit this topic; ‘Preparation for Migration after Diversity visa Approval’ before it’s finally created, I will appreciate it.

Thanks and Wishing you all a Happy and Properous Year 2014!
Having a wonderful thread that deals with preparing to migrate is a very good one as this will inform us of the necessary things to do before travelling. Personally I don't think it will affect this present thread at all as they deal with different issues. Wishing us all a happy new year in advance. God bless us all.Mr Obatide thumbs up.

hsunaing: Hi everyone,
I am very glad to see this forum from google as my wife is also one of the selectee, thanks god! such our dream, but I don't know whether to be happy or not as we only find out today that she is selectee.
It is kinda funny, but it is true, we never thought that we will be that lucky and also we thought they would inform us by letter or email, so we haven't check the outcome until today when I saw 2015 DV is on the way, I thought of applying it and I search back last year pdf file for our reference then I want to confirm we are not selectee from 2014 then find out she is selectee but I am not.
So what can we do now? Isn't too late to submit the form? PLease any advice? Thanks.
Hope there is still a chance for us.
I don;t know whether to smile or cry ha ha.
huh
U can start now not too late to but what's ur CN range? It is well

kennex89: This is the reply i just received now from KCC on the typographical error made on my second name and address too.....
.........................................................................................................................................
Thank you for your inquiry.

KCC does not have the ability to retrieve or make changes to the data that was provided on the original entry to the lottery.

The interview date has been scheduled. You will receive notification via email to check http://www.dvlottery.state.gov. Any additional questions can be directed to the embassy processing your case.
.......................................................................................................................................

so house what do you advice i do at this stage, is it to write the lagos embassy and inform them of this error or wait till interview date and inform them please house i need your advice.
My question to you is that do u remember what u filled on ur oiginal entry as in ur first visa lottery forms cos kcc will act on d information u provided on d entry pls be sure of what u filled so that u will be able to defend urself and so that d CO will not think u wia lying it is very important if this is so,u can tell d CO that u changed ur address but pls d truth is very important.

Madu77: My dear since you did not have maths in the ssce, it will be wise you combine the waec. The rule is that you must have secondary education with 5credits english and maths inclusive at maximum of 2 sittings. You are good to go with a combination of two certificates.
On being current, my dear relax, just pray and start preparing for your interview; the visa will not finish. For you to be selected they have a visa for you.
Bravo! I have I have spoken well on your questions
I doubt it if maths and English esp maths is compulsory o the rule says minimum of five credits it dint mention maths and English.

kennex89: please for those that went to the interview as couples, i will like you to answer this question for me is it compulsory for the visa beneficiary or derviative to go with their educational certificates cos i was told it is not compulsory for deriviatives and beneficiaries , it is only compulsory for the principal applicants. though i am a graduate and i am going with my GCE,UNIVERSITY,NYSC. but my wife being the principal applicants will be going with her testimonail, and other school documents. please couples answer this cos i want to know if it was asked.
There is no harm in going with all ur cert just go with everything you have but the main requirement is the principal applicant's O' level cert(GCE WAEC NECO) with credit in a minimum of 5 subjects all is well.

Pipsland78: I'm new on this thread and glad to here. I won the visa lottery and have been given my visa. I intend travelling to US on May 1 but I have 4 questions:

1) I've paid for my green card online, when, where and how do I pick up the greencard?

2) How do I process and pick up the SSN?

3) How do I get the driving license?

4) I did my medicals in Oct but got my visa on Nov 7, hope travelling to the US on May 1 is not too late.

I intend settling in Houston Texas, I would be glad to hook up with any NL member who resides in Houston.

Below is my thread on winning the visa lottery and getting my visa.

I will answer No 4 and leave d rest to gurus in d house. Your medicals will expire 6mths after u did it so its likely your medicals expire before u travel and dat means u will av to redo ur medicals as u will be sent back at POE if it has expired. Gurus hope am right.
