Local capacity . They built and developed their own gas field while Nigerians and leaders their continue to expect their tokunbo gods ( Jesus and Mohammed) to develop their |
aribisala0:No it is not the country, it is the attitude. But sorry , you will never get it . You need to be aware (see the light ) to know . The small money politician no take , no foreigner dry reap the harvest. I will like to know what the government has done in terms of the environmental impact of opening Epe up (the destruction of the Fiona and Fauna like you have in Lagos city). This is the only pristine place left in the state . Are we going to get another Mowe and Ibafo or they are going to get serious and start administering urban and regional planning ? |
Out of everything there is to criticise and attack , the crappy writer decided to attack a toothless bulldog. |
I am gong to join the conversation now . Yes , Ambode is average and 2 notches below another average governor , Fashola . They both score C6 in a class full of F9 failures . I rank Amosun in ogun state above Ambode . Eye candy for the unenlightened like flyover and motor parks are no substitute for strategic thinking . When you see a typical Asian developing country , they govern in such a way to build up their local capacity . Even Pakistan where over 80% of the men are illiterates has built-up local capacity in the remaining 20%. This is why Pakistan build jets and nuclear weapons and Nigeria cannot make toothpicks . Go and check , the bridge was probably built by a former Lebanese 4 x 4 shop holder or a Syrian plumber who happened to touch base in Nigeria and bamboozled the so called leader . Awo was a strategic thinker who touched all base ( education ,infrastructure, fiscal accounting , culture ,justice ,environment etc . Fashola and Ambode are not strategic thinkers . They are C grade administrators in country full of ,and government by lowlifes ,delinquents ,half-literates and thieves |
This is not a communal clash . This is a precursor to genocide . This is a calculated attempt to displace, ethnically cleanse and subjugate the indigent nationalities . How are you going to progress if there is no security? Not possible |
Hmm |
That is enough money to build a power station for a medium size city .we are talking of the corruption of a tier 3 government official here . |
They say that they are developing . Tell me what kind of development is this when you cannot build your own roads ,sewers and bridges . Instead , Lebanese storekeepers , plumbers and bricklayers and riffraff come to their country and become the masters of useless master degree/PhD holders. Useless rifffaffs (aka leaders)with inferiority complex selling their people down the Mediterranean since 1960. |
Lost country |
Bring the best administrator and politicians to Nigeria and they will still fail . It goes back to the argument , "Who came first, the chicken or the egg"? The leadership originate from the followership . You can see all that is wrong with Nigeria in that video. They've turned the rail track to a market . |
Yorubaland To the east - Edo ,Binis,Itshekiris To the west - fon To the north : Egbirra ,Nupe , igala To the south : Atlantic Ocean Almost all our neighbours are sub-groups in the Oodua family . |
Cekpo34:I cannot be bothered with you. Visit works ministry social media pages. It is all there to view. All tier 1 federal roads are under construction right now |
SalamRushdie:The Naira in your pocket is the same naira in your pocket. For your daily needs , fellow Nigeria are the ones punishing you by increasing prices arbitrarily. Fuel prices goes up by 5% , bus driver increase their fares by 200% |
id911:That is 16% of the budget out of a targeted 30% Under Jonathan, it was 0% despite the fact that oil was trading at over $100 / barrel throughout. This is progress. Unless you are blind , no one can deny the roads ,bridges and other projects that are currently under construction. Fashola just completed a cross country trip, every state has something big under construction. |
Good job. Unlike the inept world bank dunce who couldn't manage a boom . Now follow this up by reducing the number of inept civil servants . The power sector needs more money . Why do Nigerian leaders not take the power sector seriously . Power is the lifeblood of any economy . |
94% ko 9400% This woman is clueless . The clueless leading the clueless. 39. Based on these assumptions, aggregate revenue available to fund the federal budget is N4.94 trillion. This is 28% higher than 2016 full year projections. Oil is projected to contribute N1.985 trillion of this amount. 40. Non-oil revenues, largely comprising Companies Income Tax, Value Added Tax, Customs and Excise duties, and Federation Account levies are estimated to contribute N1.373 trillion. We have set a more realistic projection of N807.57 billion for Independent Revenues, while we have projected receipts of N565.1 billion from various Recoveries. Other revenue sources, including mining, amount to N210.9 billion. |
If am right , that is Iweala's village. |
Msteew. This man no get respect. Oduduwa of all names . Why not go the whole hog and name him olodumare. The land has been desecrated for so late no that it needs thorough cleansing. |
Overpopulation is the monster in room and nothing is being done to discourage it . All that mega city nonsense. The state is full up and needs urgent depopulation. Gentrification and enforcement of nuisance laws will go a long way but a long term solution must be found to reverse this problem . Anyone doubting should take a trip outside to lome or Cotonou for at least 3 years and come back to revisit his former neighbourhood |

Kirigidi:How does it favour me or the SW ? Mobil has had an head office selling their products in yorubaland before 1 drop of oil was exported from Nigeria .Engine oil , grease , petrol stations etc. Every town had at least one of each of texaco , Agip, mobile , BP, Shell outlets. Many had multiples . In fact , there were no independent marketers. Today, they still sell branded products across Africa beyond pumping oil from the Niger delta . The total number of shell's full time employees ( expartriate and Nigerians) in Nigeria is less than 6000. Most of them are in the Niger delta. The businees will always make lbusiness decision about operations . All it takes them to move their entire business out of Nigeria is a click of a mouse . |
jumobi1:You shouldn't have replied when you do not have the aptitude to digest the points. |
What were they thinking? Factors important to businessee 1 Security 2 Transportation infrastructure 3 Human resources and professional services 4 Schools for staff children 5 Leisure and entertainment 6 Housing and Hotels 7 Consular services 8 commercial Hubs It is for these reason and many more that investment banks and the media are based in New York and not Alabama or Kentucky. How many oil firms in texas is HQed in New York. Austin ,Houston and Dallas are world class cities and they are easily accessible. Lagos is the closest to that level and with Ghana(Accra) ,Benin(Cotonou) ,Togo(Lome) and ivory coast (Abidjan) within 500 miles radius , they can easily access more opportunities and control assets from one central position . They can use the Accra airport ,they can chill on the beach in Lome etc .Oil companies in Texas do not have to site corporate headquarters in New york for the reasons I have listed. The same reason silicon valley is on the outskirts of San Francisco (another world class city) They moved the Nigerian capital to abuja .Not a scratch on Lagos .All the embassy buildings are still thereoffering consulars services .Once an ambassador moves in , it becomes an embassy. The government is simply making an emotional play.Same argument can be made to demand that Shell to move a substantial chunk of their global headquarters to Nigeria. Some of the reasons are why airlines are finding it hard to use Kaduna . |
Jman06:Go abroad . The experienced mechanic , plumber, welder ,bricklayer will not only get a job before you, he will put earn you with the useless Phd . In most cases, only people who want to go into the academia study beyond first degree. The geniuses are do not need any useless paper to prove themselves. They are good and people know. While your taxes are bring removed at source ( PAYE) , a substantial chunk of his is cash-in -hand ( dodge taxes). Apart from graduates at the top of their game, most Nigerian degree holder struggle ( you need to covert your qualifications or get professional qualification) |
Nothing stops Nigeria from doing the right thing |
A substantial chunk of kogi and Kwara is Yorubaland |
This man moves from inside AC to AC . 83 ke? |
Nigeria must not listen to IMF and world bank . They are agents of American investment banks . The federal government should hold on to all gas assets and go ahead with the project . |
. |
Nigerian churches ? Useless Except for those who think they can double or quadruple their money through |
I have said it many times . Move the existing NDDC personnel to the Niger Delta Ministry . Reduce the items on NDDC plate to ground breaking capital projects in the oil producing communities with like . Get proper capital developmental experts . You do not need more than 50 experts ( engineers , surveyors ,architects and 4 secretaries ) . No political appointees or politicians . Just people who get things done . If you cannot find them in Nigeria, look for them outside the country . 1 Housing (well planned estates ) 2 Water Works 3 Electrification ( mini power plants ( 10MW) 4 Bridges where possible . 5 Rail or tram where practical Etc The ministry and the state should deal with the social infrastructure like schools , agriculture etc . If it can be done in NNLG , these estates can be built as well in the oil producing communities as well . I am not talking about port harcourt , warri ,uyo ,akure ,Benin etc , I am talking about the villages , hamlets and closest towns where the oil is coming from . Talk a census of shacks in the villages ,knock them down and replace with proper housing . |
A Nigerian millionaire is worth £2000 , €2000 or $2500 lol. That is the price of a old beater( car) . Going by the volume of cars on the road , with the SW responsible for over 70% of road traffic and petroleum tax , your entire conclusion is absolutely useless |
