we should all respect each other's religion. by the way is it not the same God that we are worshiping? God the father of Abraham, saviour of humanity? we should all work together islam, christianity and judaism are brother religions. they all tell the story of how mankind came to find God wether it be Allah or Jehovah.

Let us not Insult one another unless you want to invoke the wrath of God.

Abomination! Snake is the forbidden evil animal. Why must you eat snake when theres chiken?

Eels are not snakes. They are fish and are very tasty. Bush meat is porcupine, lemur, grass cutter and ect it to is tasty.

Caymin (alligator) meat is very delicious! grin

Politics50 Years After A Giant Was Born. Nigerian Development Report by odumchi(op): 8:18am On Aug 21, 2010
[b]For many 50years is considered enough time for a nation to make visible and well needed changes. Within fifty years of independence, the United States was well of and well established. Within fifty years of Independence, Egypt was feeding its population, reaching all of its major power needs, and supplying jobs to its booming population, now let us see if we can say that for Nigeria.

To do this we went around asking some local residents to tell us how they think Nigeria has changed over the years and here were our replies:
One Mr.Samuel who owns a tire-repair shop replied saying: "Everything has gotten worse if not better. We no get light, we no get job, and our road be no good. Before I had a booming business but until the main-road began to fall apart do to poor maintenance and neglect, i no get customers. These roads are death traps."
Another Mr.Fomoya who owned an electronics store replied saying: "Nothing is good. Security is bad, wasn't it the other day that my shop was robbed? And besides my business has crumpled. In the old days people used to rush my items no no one wants to buy anymore because there is no electricity".

Now irrespective of these comments, we have given Nigeria grades on advances in areas like security, power, unemployment, and transportation.
Transport-Roads remain dangerous although with little improvement in some states. Grade=D
Electricity-With over 75% of our cities being powerless we will have to proceed with the grade. Grade=F
Security-Kidnappings, armed-robberies are still a common thing but in some states, federal troops have helped quench the fire.Grade=D
Unemployment=With 125 million Nigerians living on less that $2 a day we will have to proceed with the grade. Grade=F

After more than 50years of independence, little or nothing has been achieved in the Nigerian infrastructure and we warn our leaders that our people are losing hope in the government and such tidings can lead to feudalism and public disordr. When will our leaders begin to care?

Fundamentalism in developing countries is very very dangerous. Look at what radical Muslims did to India after it was created. They divided India into two nations India and Pakistan. I believe that radical peoples or religions which can destablilize a nation should be allowed to part from no-radicals.

Islam is like a gun in the eyes of a blind man. You must be trained to wield it and know how to operate it. Islam is very dangerous in developing countries. look at what it has done to Afghanistan. They have been held back by religious feuding and wars. Nations like Ghana are prospering far ahead of us even though we have more resources because they are not blinded by Islam.

Take Turkey for example. bThey are a muslim nation but they have combined Islam and westernization in a way that has benefited them. Boko Haram and Jihad have held Nigeria back. The capital should have remained in a more economically and socially stable place like Lagos or even be movred to prospering cities in the east like Calabar, Port Harcourt or Enugu.
CultureRe: The Origin Of The Igbo by odumchi(mod): 6:44pm On Aug 20, 2010
The kingdom you are speaking of might be the Arochukwu kingdom wich was at its climax from 1610?-1902. They fell in 1602 after their war with the british but they are still there now not just the regional superpower they were before. And the Europenas never really reached the deep end of Igbo land before the 1800s only the Portuguese visited Lagos in the 1500s.

Only if all Christians were ready to defend their faith like these muslims. But i must say why is the north so much against principles of democracy? We cannot be truly democratic until we abolish sharia law. The north is like the dark side of Nigeria.

I dare any of you to go to cities like Kano and Kaduna. You will go up to a part where instead of English, the signs will be in Arabic. Now tell me how many Nigerians can speak proper english not to talk of reading Arabic?

Infact those chikens are enjoying and are better off than humans. If you strike a mans chiken he will bring you before the police. If you strike a mans son, he will only curse you. This is Nigeria man grin

CultureRe: The Origin Of The Igbo by odumchi(mod): 4:43am On Aug 20, 2010
I think it is more likely that the Igbo migrated along the Niger river but not from the Sahara like Hausas. The Igbo and Yoruba are from a language family known as Niger-Congo. This family stretches from Ivory Coast to the Congo and all members of this family eat fufu. The Hausas are a mix of Saharan berbers and Arab herders who lived in the fertile Sahara. The Hausas are part of the Afro Asiatic language family which stretches from Niger to modern day Iraq.

PoliticsRe: Tribute To Nigerian Military In Pictures by odumchi: 9:46pm On Aug 19, 2010
There is no Question about the bravery of our troops but I have a question. When will we begin to use modern equipment. The only modern thing I saw in these pictures are our artillery trucks other than that everything is outdated. Even our planes MiGs are planes of the past and we need new fighter planes and bombers. If we maintained close relations with the U.S. maybe we could get some F16s.

We need modern cruisers, heavy tanks, if we had enough money we could have bought an aircraft carrier. Im tired of seeing MiG 21s everywhere (MiG21s are over 40 years old).
Body armorf will also save hundreds of thousands of lives and by looking at this picture i see nothing like that.
Another thing I dislike seeing is our troops packing themselves and riding in pickup trucks that are loaded to the limit. You will never see professional armies like that of Britain or the Untied States doing that. Other than that Good Luck army

yes I see where you are heading. if we can improve very state one at a time. Look at what Governor Godswill Akpabio did in Akwa Ib0m state. he buil new roads everywhere and actually CONNECTED THE ROADS instead of just building dead-end ones. He is an example of an advocate of Nigerian Democracy because this thing we are in now is a Failocracy riddled. The first Image is a before the second is an after

PoliticsPolice Murder Inoccent Man At Checkpoint:2 People Jailed! by odumchi(op): 8:30pm On Aug 19, 2010
It was a sunny ordinary afternoon when 16year old Emeka, his mother and his uncle were driving his unconscious father, who had been suffering from high-fever, to the hospital. They drove swiftly until they were stopped at a police checkpoint that was occupied by three police officers armed with clubs. The policemen stopped their rusty old peugoet and demanded a "roger of N100".

Emeka's uncle stepped out of the car and explained to the policemen that they were taking his dying brother to the hospital and that they needed all of their money for the hospital bill. The policemen still demanded the sum of N100 and when Emeka's mother stepped out and explained that her husband was dying, The policemen pushed her down and then said that the driver (The Uncle) should produce the car's identification papers and his manual. The driver brought out the requested items and then the police asked that he should open the hood of the car so that they may inspect the engine.

At that moment Emeka's father began coughing and shaking. He then spit out some saliva and then became still. Emeka seeing this jumped out of the car and then grabbed one policeman's shirt yelling "You killed my father!" The policeman retaliated by striking Emeka with the club and then they put him in the trunk (boot of the car) and ordered the driver to drive to the police station instead of the intended hospital.

At the station, the policemen charged Emeka with assualt of a policeman and the policemen testified that Emeka's mother murdered her husband in the car and she was convicted of murder, Both Emeka and his mother were jailed but the Uncle was released. Some few days later, the local elders and Emeka's uncle begged the policemen to relase him and his mother but they refused and only released Emeka on N10.000 bail. Emeka's mother later died due to the conditions of the prison. We later asked Emeka how he felt about this and he broke into tears. He then replied saying "I will join the police force and I will change it. I will make sure nothing like this ever happens again".

What a miserable heap of nonsense. Thats the problem with Nigerians they always have the right ideas at bad times.

Tradition is tradition and it cannot be changed PERIOD. If you people put these your ideas of modernization into the government or Nigerias infrastructure, it would have been a better place.

CultureRe: Kneel Down And Feed Your Husband? by odumchi(mod): 5:42am On Aug 19, 2010
This is absolutely ridiculous. You people should learn to embrace your culture! It is the way it has been, it is and forever will be. Please for the sake of tradition women it is just a cultural thing. It does not mean that you are subhuman and your husband is geater, its just a commemoration of how it has been.
So if you go to church now and want to recieve communion (blood of Christ) you will say no because the wine they used to make it is of the old  generation and they must use soda because it is 2010 abi?
No wonder so many of people nowadays cannot speak their native language because their parents say it is outdated and that english is the language of 2010. Then when they go back to their native villages, if ever, they will not understand you and will only nod or shake. angry
