It's interesting how everyone brings up the issue of oil wells and banks, which are located in non-Hausa territory but are still owned predominantly by northerners. It is as if I live in a different city but yet I control everything YOU own in your house and you would have to request permission from me before you watch your own television or use your own phone. Please continue with the interesting feedback. |
@ Excanny This is the reason why Easteners are suffering, people do not support each other rather they seek to disgrace fellow Igbos (if you are one). FYI I am not an adult who wasted my life like you, infect I'm still in Senior Secondary School and I am blessed because I saw this problem early and I am awakened, unlike you who wholes away his years and started complaining late. If you have nothing better to do with your life then to cause trouble I suggest you donate yourself to civil service and serve your Hausa and Fulani masters and answer "yes sir" for the rest of your miserable life. Puom nivu, anniovia |
I think you people are misunderstanding the point, we can also say that Igbos are the greatest and what not but how does that help? Please keep on with your feedback |
Alj I told you I won't argue with you. Let me name a few : Alhaji Sani Abacha , ibb. Please everyone watch this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RNT1y5xJiDI&feature=youtube_gdata_player |
@redsun there are little or no allocations! Why do you think the states in the east are so small compared to those in the north. The northerners use the excuse "my state is larger area so we need more money" while the smaller southern states have more people concentrated in them then the northern ones. |
@excanny I abum onyigbo (go and translate that and find out what it means). And Bendel is an ethnic group and I know q couple of them who identify as Bendel, and some speak Igbo. @alj harem. Southern Nigeria is obviously more litterate than Northern Nigeria. If Islam does not allow women a full education without the consent of a father or husband than ubthink both you and I know the answer to your question. If you still want to argue I suggest you find another Thread. @redsun. I not feeling sorry for myself I am simply declaring the clear open truth for all to see.enough with the smoke in mirrors. @Ileke Idi we are being imprisoned since we are being kept in an amalgamation even though we want sovereignty. 2.All those who deny the Southeners sovereignty (mainly the islamic Hausas Fulanis and The Islamic Yorubas since many Christian Yorubas are petitioning to leave Nigeria. 3. The Hausa Yoruba and Fulani oligarchy and also the general condition of the Igbo people are stopping him. If you watch Nigerian satellite television it is run by Yoruba and Hausa men. Since the presidency resides in the north, only those approved by the presidency could obtain high positions. Many northern and western men and women have never worked a day in their lives yet they are multi millionaires due to the stolen funds their fathers collected. 4. My idea of suffering is being born the same way as the other person but not being able to climb as high as them. Suffering is sleeping under a bridge and begging on the highway because you fought for your dreams, suffering is living in darkness in undeveloped land, suffering is indescribable . |
Thankyou Missy. @ Ileke Idi, you don't understand. The Igbos were being oppressed and fought a war to escape such suffering. One million Igbos died fighting for that dream. 1milliom people gone, one million hopes and dreams sacraficed, one million was one tenth of our pop at that time. And as if that was not enough, we today are still suffering more than before. One million people died for no reason, my own ancestors died in that war, they were forcefully conscripted, pulled from their farms and equipped with rifles and caps to fight an enemy with machine guns and tanks. Entire villages destroyed, (My heart weeps as I write this), towns were burned and families separated for no reason. Today millions if former soldiers maimed and injured beg alongside the highways. These were the same people that Guwon promised "peace and reassimilation". My people are imprisoned in their own land and no one seems to care. The highest a young Igbo bot can hope to be in Nigeria is a governor in his fund-chocked state. While an illiterate Hausa or Fulani boy can answer Alhaji at the age of 15. |
@ Missy 95, the Igbo language is spoken widely in Rivers State, Delta State and the rest of the Niger Delta by both Igbo and non Igbo elements. So yes, The Igbo exist in the Niger Delta. |
IleKe Idi, You have not seen real poverty that is why you are disregarding this serious problem. Your people are enjoying their full rights but we have no say In anything. Your people have all of their federal rights secured and they have potential. My people are working their bones dry to gain stolen rights, my people are suffering and leaving their eastern homeland in search of economic opportunities in cities like Lagos, while yours have everything they need to succeed at their fingertips. My people are suffering living in shacks in Yorubaland, pushing wheelbarrows in your land, shoveling dirt and dying working for an opportunity to live a decent life. Your towns are recieving electricity even though if is taken while towns such as Arochukwu in my land have not seen light for months. I have seen true poverty with my eyes so do not arouse my anger and tell me anything about suffering. |
Yes bendels are an ethnic group that speak Igbo and Bendel. And I am not saying that other regions have it great, no. But they are stealing our oil from our backyards and are using the money in ways that do not concern us at all. It is as if someone stealing your birthright. It is time for people to wake up and become active. |
It is time for people to wake up and become active. |
We Igbos are truly a great ethnic group. I am overjoyed with the good comments coming from fellow supporters, how can we a people still rival with the Yoruba in population, after losing more than 10% of our population In the Biafran war? Otuto duri Chukwu!! Ndigbo nguria for the northern devils have been ashamed! ![]() |
Nigeria:Peace and progress, unity and faith is your moto isn't it? It is obvious that Easteners are excluded from this promise. Easteners are the slaves of Nigeria while the nation is led by the triangle of demons (babangida, Abacha, and obasanjo). My country has failed me. We Easteners are promised one Nigeria and are lied to daily. They tell us "democracy" but it is actually a "themocracy" which excludes us. Nigeria is ruled by the Islamic Yoruba and Hausa-Fulanis who are effectively ruled by the Sokoto Caliphate. The Sokoto caliphate controls Nigeria and Islam, the strange religion rules all of us here in this country. Everytime I look at Nigeria, I weep and ask "What did we ever do to deserve this? Why are we Igbos, Ibibios, Ijaws, Efiks, and Bendels given a back seat role in our own nation?" The Answer to this question is greed. The northerners were greedy and therefore manipulated their false power to their advantage, and excluded us from our rights. In 1959, Northern Nigeria was the most desolate place in the nation while the south was thriving and wealthy. The British sir Lugard rigged the election in favour of the north since it would not be "fair" for the rich south to control both the economy and politics. Now brothers and sisters look 52 years later, for the first time in the history of Nigeria, the North is richer than the south while the south produces 95% of Nigeria's wealth. The cities and roads in Northern and western Nigeria such as Kano, Ibadan, Lagos and Kaduna thrive while the cities in Southern Nigeria such as Aba, Onitsha, Enugu, Calabar, and Port Harcourt rot away. Trillions of Naira are being spent on the extravagant beautification of cities such as Lagos while common necessities such as usable roads and bridges are being overlooked in the east. Take a look at the Nkana bridge linking Akwibom state and Abia State across he IMO river. This bridge was bombed in the Biafran war back in the 60s up till today, it is still on the same condition. There are no handlebars accross the bridge and it is basically wooden planks connected by two iron bars but still everyday hundreds of motorists and peoplee risk their lives crossing it. Please be honest, isn't there something wrong? The Northerners have soiled our educational system. They have stolen money from our various European and America an donors and have given jobs to their questionable sons and daughters who have little or no qualification for the job, while in the east millions of graduates sit idle due to lack of job opportunities. One such ret. northern Army officer gave his daughter a job as a judge in the federal high court. She was presented with the case of a many by the name of Dr.Chibuike whose bail she bad deliberately rejected for 2 years. She rejected his bail not because of any reason but simply brcuase her husband Alhaji Ibrahim Musa told her not to. In Islam, a wife must obey all the instructions of her husband and can face punishment if she does not. Is this how our country works? Are federal court decisions handled in the bedrooms of husbands and wives? When Asked why she did not accePt his bail, she said that she can not accept the money from him or any of his family members rather he must produce the traditional chief or ruler of his village to produce the bail! This kind of nonsense os unheard-of anywhere in Nigeria. Can you imagine the emir of Sokoto appearing in a court in Enugu to pay the bail of an Hausa man? No! Then why must this happen to us Easteners? The Federal republic of Nigeria is actuLly the Islamic kingdom of Nigeria. If you do not believe me, search Sharia republic of Nigeria in YouTube. Please comment on this very serious issue. I would like to hear each and every one of your responses. All of the jobs are be |

Please help me find the link. I've been looking everywhere and I need the Nigerian version |
As if the money would be actually used for he intended purposes. It's sad that polio a disease almost erradicated in he whole world is still in nigeria ![]() |
I am a patriot. But what does this have to do with anything? |
I am neither, I am awakened. And besides what difference does it make, Is that a compliment? |
Nigeria is a great country despite what people say. Nigeria has faced many tough times and has overcome those problems. We have lived when people said we would die and we continue to stand here today. Although we face our unique problems, we must find our unique answers to them rather than Europeanesque ones. We must learn again to solve African problems with African solutions just as Tafawa Balewa, Nnamdi Azikiwe, and Awolowo did. If one looks at Nigeria today, he or she migth laugh and say "Is this your aafrican gaint?", but we musnt ignore them because a good way to kill a dog is to make it deaf. We must use previous expreiences, outside examples and our won inginuety to solve our problems. The main problems in Nigeria are "Lack of electricity, lack of good roads, and lack of security". Without these three economical growth is almost impossible. i remeber some time back seeing pounded Yam bags saying "PRODUCT OF NIGERIA", but nowadays all you see is "MADE IN GHANA". The Nigerian gov't has found it increasingly cheaper and more convenient to buy goods from the already well-established Ghanaian retailers rather than go through the trouble of buying domestic goods. How can goods be mass produced with out electricity to run factories? How can goods be transported to ports without good roads? And how can goods be safe without adequate security? Nigeria began the "race" as the hare who rushed and fell asleep on the way, but nations like Ghana and Kenya have overtaken us just as the tortoise who took the journey one-step-at-a-time. Nigeria awake from your slumber and lead the way! |
Nigeria needs to step up to the game. It cannot stop lying to its people anymore; this is 2010. |
ifyalways:Yes they are. In Aro "v" and "h" are used instead of "f". For example: Ofe and Ovo, Ovia Ofia and ohia, ivuru ifuru and ihuru, Ihe and ife |
You people seriousley need to stop wasting your time arguing about how little Nigerians have and actually DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. You are just whiling away time when you can be out theredoing something i. e. contesting for seats in the government and expressing your ideas via a political party. Any one of you can be the next Obama, you just have to get your lazy a**ess off the computer and into the real world. Actions are stronger than words. |
The typical rural Nigerian is poor. 150m live in nigeria. 75million people survive on less than 1000n a day. 48million people are considered average. 2million are wealthy. The average Nigerian buys food on credit and his staple foods are bread, beans and the occasional rice. (fufu is too expensive) |
Just a clarification of some Igbo dialects ![]() Money: Ego, Egbege (Aro), Egbogo (Aro) Forest: Ovia, ohia Meat: Ani, Anu Bushmeat or Insult: Aniovia (Ani typically goes with Ovia rather than ohia), Anuohia To see: Avurum or Ahurum |
There is an element of truth in the British what good would 210 million people do if 170million of them live on less than 2$ a day? China solved their pop prob by sending ppl into the army. they did not only use the army to fight but also to build roads, buildings, farming, and manufacturing. |
Good News ![]() But it will also leave thousands jobless ![]() A sensible president shall see that NEPA has failed us and would import foreign power companies like ConEdison which is powering most of America. |
We should al lpromote our indeginous languages because it is defines our past and it is who we are. You will be an Igbo forever aslong as you know your customs and your language. If you forget your customs, your tradition and your language then you have uprooted yourslef and are nothing more than an individual. I myslef feel sorry for all of these Akata people who are just "black because they know not their original language. there are many AA people who would do anything to have a background and it pains me to see cultural Africans like us who throw away our tradition in exchange for modern languages and customs. Every language has its golden age. In 400a.d. anyone who was anything spoke Latin. In 300 b.c. anyone who was anything spoke greek. In 1000 A.d. anyone who was anything spoke arabic. In 2010a.d. anyone who is anything speaks english. the new global language will be Mandarin Chinese, you people just wait and see ![]() |
Our Christian God was not that of the white mans making. Jesus is the supreme God of all mankind who revealed himself to us. Mohammed only created Islam as a way to meet the spiritual needs of the Arabians who did not meet spiritual standards with their many gods. Man created Islam. Christianity created man. |
