Funny you! anyway for your information I am a Chemical engineering graduate with some years working experience as a Quality Control Analysts and QA/QC in various multinational companies that are into soap productions. Anyway I am just here to give some clue on what it takes to produce a good soap that will meet NAFDAC and SON specifications.
In fact my main interest is to see that people who want to venture into this business, do so without causing harm to themselves and to the public. As you know, one can have good and genuine intentions, but with half knowledge, that good intentions may turn to something very awkward and detrimental to themselves and the public.

I'm a Chemical Engineering graduate too with research interest in soap and detergent. I did all these QA/QC analysis during my undergraduate. I'm into the business now. It will be cool if you can offer the society this knowledge. Although with the general formulation people are using, no threat is involved since they are producing mainly laundary soaps. The major problem in the business is the high cost of oil. So as you will be talking quality also visit the area of optimization.

Inasmuch as I don't want to sound as if I am about spoiling someone business, but I don't want innocent people to fall victim of buying material/handbook or starting up a business you know little or nothing about.

There's is absolutely no doubt that soap Production is a good business to venture into, but you don't just start a production business base on what u read on some hand books that give u less than 40% of what you really need to know b4 commencing your production.
The truth is that soap Production goes beyond mixing of Caustic Soda, PKO, PFAD, Palm Sterin, Fragrance, Soap Noodles, Sodium Silicate, EDTA, Water etc.
As someone who has work as a QA/QC in some soap productions companies I just have educate you people a little bit on what it take to produce a soap that will meet NAFDAC and SON specifications.
Before starting up a soap Production company, you need the service of an experience Quality Control Personnel who will carry out all the basic chemist test on your raw materials to make sure d meet the basic specifications. Example like the purity test on your caustic soda, saponfication value, iodine value, titer value etc of the various oil you intend using for the production process.
Now you may want to ask what's the need of all this test?
Let me explain the importance of some of this test:
Caustic soda purity help you to determine the purity of the caustic soda because the purity of caustic soda differs. Some are 99% pure, others are 95% or even less than that.
Now the purity of the caustic soda help you to determine the quantity of water you will use to dissolved it so as to get a better concentration of the caustic soda solution you need for you soap productions.

Saponification Value (SV) of the oil: this is also very important because every oil has it SV. The SV help u to determine the quantity of caustic soda solution that will saponify the oil and give you a better soap that will not cause damage to the clothes or skin of your customers.

Now another important things is your formulations or the blending ratio of the various oil you want to use for the soap productions. Your formulations/blending ratio depends on the type of soap you want to produce.

After producing your soap, you don't just package them and sell the soap to the public without carrying out some quality test on them. Some of the test includes Total Fatty Materials TFM, Free Acid, Alcohol Insoluble, Lather Test, Free Fatty Acids etc.

Now all this analysis can only be done with the help of an experience QA/QC personnel. This test help you to determine if your soap is good for public consumption or not. It's only if you have the intention of causing harm to the public that is when you won't subject your products to this quality test.

Like I said earlier, it's just a brief enlightenment on what it take to produce a good soap that will meet NAFDAC and SON standards.

MMM is not a scam. It is real. I know people who are making money from it. Nobody will run with people's money because of how the programme is designed. But there are few lessons to learn right now: 1. MMM will make life more difficult at the end of the day. It will definitely crash by itself. There are a lot constraints that will endanger its sustainability. I'm a layman in economics though. But MMM lacks what it takes to stand. So the relieve it is giving now is short term. The disaster will be enormous when it crashes. It will certainly do. 2. It has exposed mankind greed. Habit of getting something from nothing. The gamblers life. Vanity, vagary drives participants but not the real investment spirit. And this trait is against positive growth and development of an individual and society. If you are attracted to MMM and related scheme, then I doubt what lesson you have for your children. 3. Christians have failed. This is not strange to me anyway. Because all through school and growing up, christians can do anything for fame, grade, money, power etc. "Getting help" in the first place to christians should be a term that is linked to satanic statements. Help from who? Help from what? Help for what? I pray you make heaven at the first trumpet because with the drama MMM has played now, not many a christian can stand the Great Tribulation. I'm not saying MMM is satanic or 666. But 666 will offer enticing help like this at a time that global economy will be worse than this. (I pray no one reading this should witness the Great Tribulation). What we face in the world right now is a foretaste to what will come. The world has not seen anything yet. The worst is yet to come. I bleed for souls in the face of hardship to the flesh. 4. Would have done MMM if you were you gainfully employed and comfortable. Imagine if you would have been proud to be tagged as MMM participant if you were a figure like Dangote, Oyedepo, Kumuyi, Mark Z, Seun, Otedola etc. I do not support pyramid/ponzi scheme, gambling, exam malpractice etc. I am not perfect, no one is and no one will be. But I try my best to be moral even in my worst state. Say NO to MMM et.al

Ten (10) hours drive. The state I did my NYSC. I just came back October. I never knew they'll use state of residence to shortlist.

No. I didnot and do not intend to do verification in where I was deployed. I can't travel that far to do verification. Whatever it would take I need relocation.

Each time I try access this redeployment form, this is the message I keep seeing: "Deployment information is not available yet. When it is, you would be able to apply for redeploymemt from here!" I do not understand and I really want to fill the redeployment form. Is it that NPower has already processed my redeployment? Because immediately I logged in to update my data on NPVN site I sent them a message on my intention to redeploy and I had already sent them all the message that is require on this form now. Anyone with useful information.

Someone should help me also answer the document that makes proof of residence question. For instance, I used the local government that I was serving (NYSC) as my residency and pass out last month and relocated to my state of origin. And now I have been shortlisted in the local government I served for my NYSC for the N-Teach. Does this then constitute fraudulent claim? The local government chairman, the community leaders, the religious society there can testify to this based on my contributions to the place as a corps member. As a matter of fact I need relocation from N-Power but they are here pouring threats. Yes it is. Where you found your name is the state and local government that you are posted to, awaiting your place of primary assignment which the respective states are working on it now and hopefully this week we'll receive it - if the sheme must commence Thursday, 1st December. And as a matter of fact, this sheme is designed for graduates to serve in the state and local government of residence irrespective of ones origin. That is why this thread was created for us that have changed our state of residence within the last few month. To see if we can be relocated to our current state of residence.

The state and local government that your name is on is the state you are posted. What we are waiting for now is posting to a particular organisation (e.g. School) within the local government. I'm posted to Osun too, Ife South. Which local government are you posted?

By now all those shorlisted know the state and local government they are posted to. That is what I mearnt. I think what the posting you are asking about is place of primary assignment? All of us are still waiting for our posting to the place of our primary assignment which will definitely be within the local government of our posting.

I think what OP wants to know is the difference between Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Engineering, and Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech). These degrees are equivalent but not the same though they have the same length of time. It may not matter much in Nigeria anyway because Nigerians rarely work as professionals. B.Tech is a practical degree. The holders receive minimal theory and little-to-no design training. They are much trained in analysis. B.Eng is an intermediate degree, with some design and theory. B.Sc are theory/designed based, focusing heavily on theory and design prinicples, with little practical. If you ask me which one is the best I would say it depends on your career prospect. But it will bother much if your dream is having Ph.D soon after first degree, of which B.Sc. will be superior to the other two. As an addition, for those having either of the above and you desire to go for Masters, I would advice: If your Masters is only to give you a better place in the industry, go for Master of Engineering (M.Eng). But if you want a Master that will place you at advantage in the industry while at the same time giving you an edge in academia with better prospect of having a Ph.D, go for Master of Science (in Engineering). Then if your hands are strong and your inclination is greatly towards academia (having Ph.D) at ease, go for Master of Philosophy (M.Phil)
