I hardly see movies portraying Yoruba culture
Dude, first of all you are a nonentity. Nobody gives a flipping fvck about what you 'see'. Yorubas are a world-famous ethnicity with a renowned cultural brand that predates 'Nollywood'. We never needed your nolly/igbowood to gain visibility for our culture and language, despite the fact that we have our own thriving film industry that has been promoting our culture and language all along -- you people are the ones that had to beg, blackmail and cajole AfricaMagic to give you a dedicated igbo language channel coz DSTV felt it won't be viable on their platform (and they've been proved right coz it's the least popular), long after a Yoruba and Hausa language AfricaMagic stations had long been established. Yorubas have been shooting movies that have been winning international accolades and breaking the box office before you were born, so your validation is inconsequential coz you're a nobody, so quit trying to feel important. Now fvck off my mention, stvpid troll.

keep quiet.....

Nollywood keep promoting Igbo culture......and you are here talking trash.....
you think its easy to overthrow an Igbo man in business....
Even your best actor....odunlade is not popular .
Nobody knows him in SE and SS even in the north....I only hear of that man on nairaland.
Desmond Elliot, funke akindele and co were all brought into landline by Igbo producers....they were even forced to learn how to speak Igbo....
96% of nollywood movies are produced in Enugu and Asaba..sometimes Owerri and 4% in Lagos or abuja...
yoruba wish production were done in the brown roof republic of Ibadan and ogun
Ode, Odunlade 'is not popular', yet you know who he is obviously coz you've been seeing him everywhere. Igbo producers didn't make him, neither did they Funke. Funke blew from Yoruba movies and producing her own flicks and works (e.g Return of Jenifer and Jenifer's Diary) before your producers started poaching her in order to glean from some of her shine. You said Funke Akindele was 'brought into landline by Igbo producers'? Dude what tha funk is 'landline'?? Or you meant to say limelight?? Lmao. Look, you need to go work on your grammar before coming here to embarrass yourself. Go on Youtube and compare the number of views Yoruba movies are getting compared to your worthless Asaba trash y'all call movies. Even Ghana flicks are now doing better than your igbohood movies. Yoruba movies are better shot, better color-graded, more versatile with their storylines than the trash you people are churning out. #Fact. If Igbo producers are so fantastic, how come they are making zero impact at the Cinemas?? That's coz they know Nigerians will reject their substandard and wack crap since they've refused to upgrade the quality of their productions and storytelling -- actually, some of them have taken their movies to the cinemas but recorded poor results coz Nigerians ain't having none of that crap, not anymore anyway.

Even without una producers, the Yoruba movie sector has been churning out great acts and like Odunlade, Funke Akindele, Mercy Aigbe, Toyin Aimakhu/Abraham, e.t.c who have all become celebrities in their own right and are attracting multimillion naira endorsements left and right. Odunlade doesn't need y'all to continue 'blowing'. That nigga's been getting way more endorsements than all your people in your igbohood. Abeg leave trash for lawma.

ODVanguard these flatteee people still haven't gotten the message oh. They should have seen this coming. We're grabbing the only industry they used to chest-beat about by the balls grin cheesy Globemoney I told your dumbass but you thought it was a just "a couple of movie directors". grin You people can't compete. Yorubas don't make noise. We'll just be showing you how it's done. Silently. No gragra.
Opon ti sun tipe tipe. They used their control of the former 'brick-and-morter' distribution model to decide who to cast in movies and as a consequence who became a 'star', and what not. But today, the likes of Mo Abudu, Jade Osiberu, Kunle, e.t.c can shoot a film, decide who to feature and break the box office without depending on some trader at Alaba dictating their cast. The playing field is more level now coz distribution is now on neutral ground (online) and Nigerian audiences are more sophisticated. The quality of your film will determine your success.

So flatteees are still living in the delusional bubble that they control nollywood. lmao grin grin Didn't they see the hand-writing on the wall when Biyi- Bandele and Afolayan were smashing the charts? cheesy Kemi Adebita is currently grabbing the industry by the balls with wedding party. Yoruba movies too are still doing absolutely well. Lol flatteees wake up and smell the coffee. the Ada the serpent, sam-loco era has passed oh grin
Ignore that obingo lapdog. He's obviously an ignoramus. The only edge his people ever had in the film sector was in the distribution chain -- coz they had traders spread out all over, they could easily distribute movies through such channels. But alas, that business model has been utterly destroyed and rendered obsolete by the internet (YouTube, IbakaTV, Iroko, OlekuTv, ApataTV, YorubaPlus, etc), and rampant piracy perpetrated by their own kin.

Most people no longer depend on DVD/VCD to watch movies anymore thanks to cheap data and the proliferation of free and downloadable movies all over YouTube (i prefer to stream Yoruba movies on my smartTV via YouTube) and other subscription and freemium channels available all over the internet, so those illiterate traders have been rendered useless in the scheme of things.

They no longer make money from movies anymore like during the days of yore. The only movies they make these days are the 'Asaba' ones which are funded by wannabe slay-mamas and prostitutes seeking instant fame -- asaba producers refuse to spend their money on movies anymore coz they can no longer recoup their investments, so they encourage fame-hungry celebrity wannabes to sponsor their movies.

https://www.vanguardngr.com/2017/12/asaba-big-girls-started-money-sex-movie-roles-stuff-omalicha-elom/

Right now, serious filmmakers target the cinemas where they hope to recoup their investments before pirates feast on them. Piracy, Cinemas and the internet have changed the game forever. Forget the hype. They don't 'dominate' or 'control' anything anymore.

If GTbank (like you).. wanted to own the company they know what to do... they buy up their stock.

it's no brainer. even my little niece knows this fact.
GTFOH dude. Until NestOil pays back the loan facility to GTbank in full the bank will have a claim over that property, that's a no-brainer. Now get the fvck off my mention. I can't stand retards.

Until you can show me proof that NestOil has paid back the credit facility then you're stvpid for this trash of a post. I have showed you evidence from NestOil itself acknowledging that GTbank funding the building of the tower, now it's your own turn. Honestly,
You missing my mark,

We can bask in the pontifications, and glorification of the stats till eternity,
But is that really a true representation of fact,

If this stat fails to spread it's tentacle to gezawa lga and all her clusters, then what about the other lgas all over the country with clusters of industries?

I doubt if you know ogun more than I do,
But you have you crisscrossed kano before?

How and where do these guys conjure these stats,

Many industrial clusters are even undergoing expansion,

Some coys are quietly being established without any media frenzy and sensational razzmatazz

Anyway, it's our individual right to uphold any form of believability,
But I personally on this, will repudiate this stat
Guy, you are free to continue living in your little bubble where your personal opinion trumps verifiable facts and data. However, in the real world where facts and irrefutable data are the measures of credibility, your opinions are as worthless as trash. undecided

arinzeejikonye:
Hi everyone,
I come in peace, hence I seek disarmament from the keyboard elite force,

First am happy for the developments,
However the verisimilitude of these stats being churned out is getting me befuddled,

For instance, To what extent was the research in kano conducted, in view to foster accuracy and truthwordiness as comprehensive collection of data.

My skepticism isn't borne out of calumny, spiteful scorn nor hypocrisy, tribalistic chauvinism and ethnocentric-cyber armageddon, far from it,

Here are my buts,
How can such stat not take into cognizance the humongous clusters and estates of industrial complexes spanning all over gezawa lga in kano

These sorts of drifts keep giving the impression of haphazardly concocted falsification of half truths,

Example in gezawa lga alone from yankaba to gudunwawa to jogana to minjibir to hadeja road onward towards jigawa spans clusters of industrial Parks

Lee group alone got almost three clusters, as a single company into myriads of productivity

This is just a company,

I ain't even talking about other lgas,
Just gezawa alone,

Even the quackiest statistician in quackery can't be blinded not to see the tens of clusters of industries in gezawa lga

Like I said this is just one of the clusters owned by just Lee group

You be the judge with an unbiased lens and rate the fabrication christianed stat
Bro, you have not showed any shred of measurable data or stat to counter the facts presented in this thread. None. Yet you expect to be taken seriously? The onus is on your to PROVE/COUNTER the data presented herein with verifiable stats and data of your own to prove your case/point if you expect to be taken seriously. Showing pictures of warehouses won't cut it. You talk about Kano clusters when Ogun (which may have even surpassed its population by now owing to the Lagos spillover factor) has several sprawling industrial clusters at Agbara, Igbesa, Abeokuta, Sango-Otta, Ibafo, Mowe, Ijebu-Ode and Sagamu. You sound like the one who's biased IN SPITE of an abundance of evidences from MAN. Showing Lee group-owned clusters of probably empty warehouses doesn't puncture nor counter the point of this thread. I'm sorry but if Kano is as industrialized as you tout (relative to Ogun), available and verifiable data would easily reflect it without you having to try so hard to convince the rest of us. Indeed Kano IGR should reflect it coz Ogun is already posting very impressive revenues owing to its industrialized status (even though a number of the new companies in the state are still enjoying tax holidays). The latest 1st to 3rd Quarter report on IGR further demonstrates that these reports concerning Ogun are indeed credible coz the numbers are there to back them up. Compare and contrast them with Kano's:
