The finest Stadium is in Uyo. Very well maintained tarred roads with good drainage system and street lights in tow. I don't want to mention the clean fresh water, security, the ambience or the side attractions like the people, the culture et al.
You obviously expected to see filth, parked on the roads like is practiced in other cities in Nigeria. Pray tell, your state so we know how to respond.

Yinmu. Abegi relax with the hype. While you are entitled to your opinion, my experience starkly contradicts yours. In my honest assessment of Uyo, I would describe it as a big village compared to even mid-level towns and cities in Nigeria, not to talk of major cities. Yes it is clean quite alright but it's sparsely populated and looks more like a big village in its layout and development (very unplanned and haphazard layout). Development goes beyond bridges and flyovers, I'm sorry to say. I was very disappointed during a very recent pre-Covid19 visit to the state. The drive from the airport to the heart of Uyo Town was very telling - - well paved roads with empty swats of land with poorly built houses all over the place. I was like wtf??

In spite of the flyovers and bridges there was little else on ground to support that the state is developed, and I am being brutally frank here coz I was actually expecting to be wowed based on prior commentaries I had heard that were similar to yours about Uyo. Compare Uyo to neighbouring PH that doesn't have as many relatively new bridges and flyover infrastructures, and you will understand what I mean when I call the town a big village - - too slow and uneventful for a state capital. I doubt the state's entire population will be more than 4-million, from what I experienced throughout my short stay in the town. The state government needs to urgently work on/concentrate more on its human capital development because I wasn't impressed with what I met on ground one bit, to put it mildly, considering all the 'oyel money' at its disposal.

When igbo marketers were in control of the distribution of Nollywood movies, they could exclusively dictate who appeared in films and which movie did well in the market. But that era is now dead and long gone because other more sophisticated technologies have taken over the levers of distribution. With the proliferation of cinemas and Video-On-Demand (VOD) distribution (a la YouTube, Africa Magic, Netflix, etc), the audiences are now the ones in control of whom and what they want to see.

Check the list of the top grossing movies at Nigerian cinemas and you will notice that they are conspicuously absent where the Yorubas are shinning with back-to-back hits ( https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_highest-grossing_Nigerian_films), not because they are not taking their films to the cinemas but rather because their style of storytelling just aren't doing well there.

Consequently, the igboman has found himself in a position that he can no longer control and is therefore frustrated, hence the recent outbursts from the likes of Zubby. The same applies to the music industry. And na that frustration go kill them because nobody will shift for them in today's market. They must be ready to compete like everybody else.

But I've had to stop that nonsense coz it's pointless. It's no secret that you're getting paid by your state governor to not only prop-up your state on social media, but it doesn't end there, part of your job-description is to also engage in trash-talking/disparaging and attempting to de-market SW states while you're at it. But after taking stock of your activities in this regard after all these years, nna, wetin you don gain? Tbh, ibadan is probably light years ahead of other cities in Oyo state because it was once a regional capital and has enjoyed significant investment in infrastructure ever since.

Overall Anambra might have better infrastructure than Oyo state when we look at state to state basis, but Ibadan has better infrastructures than Onisha.

I think even Oyo residents are unaware of and underestimate the depth of the state's urban landscape. I have business interests at Oyo Town (comprising Oyo East, Oyo West, Afijio, and Atiba LGAs) and a house at an upscale part of the town known as 'Oyo London', which should be almost as big as Magodo phase 2, drone/aerial shots would attest to it. And the quality of houses in Oyo London beats anything these chestbeaters keep regurgitating on this forum, and are comparable to Lekki Phase 1 and Magodo 2 standard homes. Fortunately for them I have since dropped my dick-measuring garb ever since I realized that shyt's pointless really. Else I would have gone on a picture snapping spree just to prove a silly point. Now, having said that, Ogbomosho, which should also have no less than a million inhabitants, is relatively more modern/developed than Oyo town. Then there're Saki West and Iseyin which also have their fair shares of modernity.

As per industrialisation, I think from what I've seen posted on here, the overall industrial strength of Oyo state beats Anambra's hands down. I was recently at Flour Mills of Nigeria/Premier Feeds Ibadan grounds and Amo Byng located at Aawe, and I just shook my head at the massive scale of their infrastructure and operations. Many more other industries dot the massive Oyo landscape but you don't see Yorubas coming here to splatter pictures of them all over Nairaland the way some insecure people are known to do.

Osinbajo would be more sellable than Fayemi, IMO. If Tinubu's political machinery and network backs Osinbajo, Fayemi can't smell it. He lacks the clout.

This is a welcome development. Igbo muslims are increasing in number by the day in AlaIgbo. Not true. Northerners aren't investors.
