PoliticsRe: Inauguration Of Gboyega Oyetola As Governor Of Osun State (Photos) by ODVanguard:
LibertyRep:
I thought it has been settled that that state is Osun State and not the State of Osun as Aregbesola would have it called.

There is obviously a disquiet in Southwest APC or how would anyone explain the absence of other Southwest APC governors ( Amosun, Akeredolu, Fayemi and Ajimobi) at the inauguration of another APC governor in their region.

A clear writing on the walls for Tinubu. These are the men that would be commissioned to cut him to size in the region when the time comes.
You people just like to exagerrate. Ajimobi, Ambode, Fayemi and Akeredolu were present at the inauguration. Amosun was the only one absent without a rep.

But igbos have Nnamdi Kanu. The guy has turned them to confam zombies. He has them under a spell, I'm telling you. He told them that Buhari is not Buhari but rather some phantom 'Jubrin' from Sudan, and like play like play, they all swallowed his horseshyt without question; not just the Igbo ipob touts alone o, I mean even their educated class and clergymen believe that crap. KANU has used igbo people's brains to fry plantain. undecided

PoliticsRe: So Nigeria Is Now A Country Not A Zoo Anymore? by ODVanguard:
Guy, you suppose don get used to our lousy and rambunctious neighbours by now. They make too much empty noise. Na so dem disturb us with Biafra. After egging on Nnamdi Kanu and getting the chap into trouble they moved to hyping Saraki until he lost the primary election to Atiku, and now they are 'Atikulating'. After the election and Buhari's victory they will move on to another past time -- likely a relaunch of Biafra agitation 3.0. Na their way. undecided
PoliticsRe: Osinbajo Vs Peter Obi On A Vice Presidential Debate by ODVanguard: 5:19pm On Oct 15, 2018
Those comparing Osinbajo to Peter on eloquence must be stupid. They probably dont even understand the
the meaning of the term. Osinbajo is by far more eloquent. Is it not the same igbotic and feminine sounding Peter?? No sentiments pls.
PoliticsRe: What My Friend In The North Shehu Bello Just Sent Me. by ODVanguard: 10:50am On Oct 15, 2018
Smh. With the way Igbos are carrying this 'Atikulate' matter, I don't even want to imagine what they would do when Atiku loses to Buhari next year. I just hope they would not go and start taking Sniper and committing suicide. Y'all need to take a chill pill. Like seriously.
PoliticsRe: Atiku Has Lost The 2019 Elections by ODVanguard: 9:50am On Oct 13, 2018
The reaction of Igbos to this thread is really funny. Well, I won't say much except that everybody should bear their father's name. Igbos would have clearly denounced Atiku if he had picked a non-igbo vice, therefore they should not act shocked if the vast majority of Yoruba people also choose to back Buhari for Osinbajo's sake.

Yorubas (including the fake wannabes) that are forming 'sophisticated' are also free to vote for Atiku/Obi if they choose, no problem. There will be Igbos that will vote for Buhari as well, though they will expectedly be fewer in number.

Igbos should quit their hypocrisy. While they expect to go all out for their 'son' Peter Obi, they would be stuupid to expect that Yorubas will just sit back and fold their arms to play 'sophisticated' politics (the same sophistication they are fond of using to deride us all the time), and return to the days GEJ when the Yoruba were marginalized. Ko Jo. Yoruba people voting for Atiku/Obi will not stop igbos from hatimg them so let us stop deceiving oursleves. Besides, Osinbajo is evidently more detribalized than 1000 Peter Obis.

A lot of infrastructural projects that didn't exist in previous administrations are currently going on across the SW, and as far as I am concerned, Buhari must remain in power until they are all completed.

The toothless Afenifere that failed to call Jonathan's administration to order while it shut out Yorubas now thinks it will be able to hold Atiku/Obi to account on restructuring and fairness. Isn't that the height of delusion? cheesy Can Atiku/Obi be more accountable/detribalized than GEJ/Sambo was?

Anyway, like I said everybody should bear their father's name and quit the hypocrisy. Yorubas will vote for Buhari/Osinbajo for the same sentimental reasons the Igbos will vote for Atiku/Obi so nobody should come and be forming rubbish and nonsense. #Real talk.

What manner of fickleness do we call this? They have gone from 'Biafla till death' and 'No lefelendum no erection' to screaming 'Atikulate' all over the place like a bunch of swooning teenagers on heat. huh I shudder to imagine their response/reaction to an Atiku loss to Buhari next year. Na to probably launch a Biafra 3.0-reloaded agitation. What tha actual feck?!

Lol. Leave them make dem dey deceive diasef. Bottomline remains that the non-Yorubas in Lagos are merely pawns in the hands of the Omoluabis for the purpose of realizing their political objectives, irrespective of the political party involved. For as long as neither the ruling APC nor PDP are controlled by the non-Omoluabis, either way they choose to vote (be it for APC or PDP), na the same Yoruba interest naa ni. i.e Yoruba leadership in PDP will use their votes in the state to realize their own political objectives, while the APC will also do the same.

Until they can influence or succeed in seizing control of the party leaderships of either or both of the ruling or major opposition parties in the state, they will remain tools in the hands of the Omoluabis to further their Yoru-centric interests for Lagos coz last last, na Yoruba men both parties go present as party leaders, governors, and deputy governors for the state. That is all their votes are good for in Lagos -- electing Yoruba leaders. cheesy

My friend, ancestral thrones are respected for what they are . ancestral and that is all there is to it. World over, it is so. For example aboriginal tribes of The Mi'kmaq. The Maliseet, The Innu or Montagnais-Naskapi Indians, The Inuit, Métis and Non-Status Indians retain their ancestral thrones. This does not make them larger or egoistic as 'Omo nile' we have down here in Nigeria. Things are changing fast my friend. The world is moving fast. Ethnic politics is dieing world over. At the rate you are selling your land and moving to Ogun and Oyo, soon you realise Lagos is owned by visitors or those you term 'Land Grabbers". Kiss the truth!!!
Yimu. Dey dia dey deceive yourself. Talk is cheap. Lagos will always have a Yoruba majority thanks to its geographical location (completely surrounded by another Yoruba territory of Ogun, which is also bordered by another Yoruba territory, Ondo). There will never be a short supply of Yorubas from surrounding territories to perpetually ensure and guarantee that its dominant ethnic integrity is protected, never -- the Yoruba language and culture has demonstrated over time that it is just too stubborn and resilient to be displaced by foreigners ( not even slavery could wipe it out).

Secondly, for as long as Yorubas continue to hold the political and administrative control of the state (it's not by mistake that they have both the ruling APC and opposition PDP leaderships in their pockets), its Yoruba character and dominance will remain intact. E.g, In Dubai, Foreigners outnumber natives by 3-1 ratio yet they know their limitations while the city is still essentially Islamic/Arab in character (they don't even interfere in the territory's politics, even though they are landowners). It would be much easier for foreigners to displace the Emiratis than for non-Yorubas to displace Yorubas from Lagos. But hey, it's not a crime to dream. undecided

CelebritiesRe: Yinka Ayefeles Fresh FM Is Currently Being Demolished by ODVanguard: 8:06am On Aug 19, 2018
So sad it had to get to this, but Ayefele made a grave mistake by taking this fight to social media. You don't fight dirty with government in a case like this because you will surely end up the loser by the time they unleash power of the state on your behind. Now his building is being demolished (which I still think could have been avoided or at least stalled while he negotiated some sort of compensation). He can still go court if he believes he has a good case, but the case will probably drag for donkey years with no guarantee he will win. Oh well... undecided

Actually, I don't blame him because he knows that no force can stop his removal if he reconvenes as things stand today. Forget all the permutations his supporters are making on social media about 2/3 this and that, Saraki's way smarter than those supporters because he knows what's up. The problem is not a political one. Politicizing as they have done is looking for trouble. This has affeted local garage operators as well not just the interstate.

If anything the State Government has evenn more responsibility to the local ones

The issues are
1. The buses cause traffic issues on Ikorodu Road and the problem is getting worse
2. The buses actually causes damage to road railings and conrete when they turn
3. Their activities contravene the state Master Plan and are illegal
4. Government has provided an alternative at Ojota.

Is the request of these folk reasonable? That we should leave things as they are and not plan for the future

What has this got to do with southern unity? So because of unity we should not have law and order?
Did you read anywhere that transporters from Oyo or Ondo are treated differently. Why must everything be sentimental
Are you minding them? They are usually at the forefront of abusing Lagos as a 'disorganized cesspit and slum', calling it all kinds of demeaning names relative to Abuja for example. Yet when the government takes steps in order to address problems of this sort and to bring sanity to the state they will be the first to condemn the move. The way they are going about it you would think they are the only transporters affected.
