True words. That's part of why I give kudos to Yoruba movies for still largely staying true to our traditional roots by promoting the traditional aspects of Yoruba culture; they are not shy to promote ifa consultation alongside pastors and alfas. Our people need to be very careful not to allow religious differences to erode our shared cultural values as this will certainly spell doom for us.

The third World question is about quality of living on average for the WHOLE POPULATION
China has the second largest economy that is true but not relevant to whether it is third world or not.
A man earning 1 million Naira a month with 100 dependents has a bigger economy than a man with 100000 a month income with 2 dependents.
The population of China is HUGE and there is widespread inequality . To answer whether or not it is Third World one needs definitions and parameters. There is a huge population of people living in abject poverty in the rural areas in China.

You did not answer his question ,rather you are bluffing. He asked for PROOF

Let me put it like this if China were to get anywhere near 1st world standards this planet will be in serious environmental trouble
On average Chinese standards of living are VERY FAR from first world in terms of education and health care

Take a look at this list

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_GDP_(nominal)_per_capita
Your definition and perspective of the subject matter is too narrow and subjective. The whole 'first, second, and third world' concept is a legacy of the 2nd world war and the cold war, which divided the countries of the world into 'first, second, and third worlds' on the basis of those nations that are capitalist, 'western', and that fought on the side of the U.S and the U.k (first world), vs. the communist bloc whom were considered 'second world', while the neutral/non-aligned countries were relegated to the 'third world' status. In other words, according to the Western victors, you weren't 'first world' if you weren't 'democratic' or didn't practise their style of capitalism. huh huh Thankfully that criteria has now been rendered outdated.

If you can go as far as giving me a wikipedia reference to your private/personal interpretation or understanding of the criteria for deciding what makes a national 'third world', why are you narrowing it down to just nominal GDP? What about other more current and equally valid criteria that includes how industrialized the country is, literacy rates, life expectancy, and the Human Development Index? Those are the expanded benchmarks (according to wiki) that are used in determining 'first-world' countries today (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_World).

But even if we were to go by the original criteria, China still wouldn't be considered 'third world' but rather 'second world'. According to a UN report, the country has managed to lift an unprecedented 660-million of its citizens out of poverty in the last 3-decades. Ironically, the same Chinese are the highest FDI contributors to most of the 'Richer', 'Western', 'First World' countries today. Bottomline is that the Chinese have been able to develop themselves in accordance with a homegrown model that disproves and defies traditional Western norms concerning economic development. I can't shout.

Like seriously? If you have to ask then it means you are highly ignorant. Anyway, FYI, China is now the second largest economy in the world behind the U.S (and is poised/destined to overtake the U.S economy pretty soon). If any country boasts of as much infrastructures as the following Chinese cities and still isn't considered 'first-world' then even the U.S isn't one. Only NewYork and Chicago can come close to matching the skyline of Chinese cities. #Fact.

It's really a pity, I tell you. Other Nigerians can't turn to wanderers like Igbos just for the sake of it, coz there's a critical economic-based reason why ibo people choose to leave their region en-masse. Igbos have shown/demonstrated little confidence in the economic viability of Igboland, yet they and the likes of Balarabe expect others to emigrate there en-masse as a criteria of their 'One Nigeria' patriotism? To do what exactly? It's not done! That place isn't economically viable. Not only Yorubas but most other ethnicities (including the igbos that chose to emigrate en-masse) avoid the region for the same reason. We need to quit deceiving ourselves abeg.

If the Nigeria restructures ie going back to the 1963 constitution. That may keep the country together
Sorry but I do not share your optimism. This Musa man was talking a whole lot of crap. Where was Balarabe Musa when Igbos were in alliance with the Northerners (or when they were in virtual control of GEJ's administration) while mainstream Yorubas were in opposition? All of a sudden now Yoruba people are now the problem?? It's the 'One Nigeria' Yoruba advocates that I pity coz no matter what they do, the igbos and Northerners will still doubt their commitment to 'One Nigeria' -- even though they once fought and spilled their blood to keep the country together, Igbos will continue to view them as 'traitors' while the North will also perpetually view them with suspicion (like this Balarabe Musa man just exhibited).

During the last Independence day celebrations, which other set of Nigerians openly showed more One Nigeria 'patriotism' than Yorubas? Which other region is the least hostile to non-indigenes from all-across, sells land to them, open up their markets to them, while creating an enabling environment for them to thrive and prosper in Nigeria than Yorubaland? Igbos have shown their willingness to dismember Nigeria not once but twice (Biafra 1.0 and the recent 2.0), yet to Balarabe Yorubas are the problem??

Yorubas had better start planning for a post-Nigeria future coz it's inevitable. We are better off respecting each other's bounderies, trading and living in peace as neighbours (as we have been doing with Togo, Benin and Ghana) and as separate countries than this current 'One Nigeria' setup/arrangement.

Boy, you have completely lost it. You are yet to unearth your phantom NUC data that purportedly proves that Imo state has the highest number of professors in Nigeria. And the only list you could muster in a failed attempt to save face is list a of 24 u.i professors of which only 4 (Odinka, Okwaligwe, Isiugo-Abanihe, and Okpala) are igbo -- Liz Adenike Emeke is a confam Yoruba woman married to an igbo, while Umoru Onuka is Ebira. Only in your twisted mind does that represent 25% of that list or prove your fake imo claim. I was clear in my submission in my post that you quoted that U.I (and OAU) professors are predominantly Yoruba, a fact which your own list only further buttressed -- I also could as well pull up a list of Yorubas on UNN's faculty to show you that Yoruba professors exist there, so what?? Poppycock. I dare you (and PrecisionFX) to show proof from the NUC to back your claim! You people are scammers. Where are these Imo professors? The igbo guy that made that false claim about Imo having the highest number of professors never presented any shred of evidence to that effect, in the usual igbo fashion. Peter Okebukola (pro chancellor of Crawford University) recently carried out a thorough research on the number of professors in most Nigerian universities. Ondo state government should seek investors to build one if they want one coz FG won't come and build it for them. FG is no longer in the business of solely building ports, same way they would rather leave the building of refineries to the likes of Dangote. States should stop being lazy (and quit blaming Lagos) and instead focus on creating enabling environments that would encourage investors to willingly commit their funds towards such projects in their states.

No, The same way Lagos has decided to build Lekki and Badagry ports for itself. The same way Akwa Ibom is showing commitment towards building Ibom Seaport. Even Kaduna, a landlocked state, has been able to build a dry port, while some lazy landlocked people are still finding a way to blame Lagos as usual. Last time I checked, no one is preventing shippers from shipping to the other ports in the country. That shippers find Lagos ports more economical isn't Lagos' fault now is it? Na wah for una o.

While I am a supporter of this administration, I don't think Fashola is sincere with this call. Or at best just to divert incoming cargo temporarily to other states and when the roads are finished, they will simply return to status quo. This is a government that is proposing another port in Badagry. Is it that they don't know the traffic implications for the state? If it is for the development of SW (as people tell me), why not take the coming port to Ondo state because they also have access to the sea? At over 20million residence, Lagos is already too congested. I am not an expert in the shipping industry but from a laymans perspective, it makes no sense to have another port in addition to the existing well-function ports in tiny Lagos.

I'm sorry maybe I am myopic and not seeing the bigger picture so I will appreciate an intelligent explanation. The only reason I can think of is if its is for political reasons. Since Lagos has now become like a fortress for APC and Ondo (even Ogun) may not always be guaranteed to be ruled by APC government.
When will people stop blaming Lagos for their own shortcomings and laziness for goodness sake? Ogun is currently getting more FDI in the manufacturing sector than Lagos coz it is leveraging on its proximity and landmass, we don't hear Lagos government sulking and lamenting over that, rather the state is still creatively coming up with other ways to attract investors into its other sectors. Are you people suggesting that Lagos should just stop growing because other states are lagging behind and refusing to develop?

If Ondo wants a port it should build one for itself (or seek investors that would be willing to commit the funds towards that) the same way Lagos is planning to build two new ports abeg. Dangote initially wanted to site his refinery at Olokonla in Ondo but the state govt in cohorts with the locals were giving him problems so he rightly sought a more investor-friendly state -- Lagos. People should quit trying to guilt-trip Lagos for handling it's business and maximizing it's god-given potentials/advantage abeg.
