Lucky4real28: 03 and 04 are same cars but 05-08 is slightly different from the former, it also has 3 back seat head rest. It’s more pricey because it’s more in Demand You forgot to add the auto lock system and of course some modifications. But I will rather go for the 2003 or 2004 and save some cash. Corolla is damn too pricy. |

Fountainofyouth: Yes schmuck, cos the first thing they try to show off is their cash not their brain or intellect, that's why most are getting burned these days,
That lady, despite the riches, said what she didn't like, but he still pressured and coerced her for marriage, not all ladies are attracted to money but most of y'all are to stupid to see that. Did i hear you say 'not all ladies are attracted to money?' Yes, they are. I mean ALL of them are gold diggers, including you. |

Op buy your car and post pictures, get your Hussle on and you can afford 200m to pay a miser who deprived himself of rest and pleasure for money he will later use and travel to India for treatment at an instant for his property in a choice location. You are a wise man! |

GAZZUZZ: Due to popular demand let us continue with the Hyundai Tucson 2007-2009
The 4cylinder.
Die hard vehicle came in back in the days from Dana motors engine costs 180k transmission I have never seen one being replaced so I have no idea how much that costs.
The V6 is a no go area, very unreliable piece of sh!t. (My personal view) This is the first generation of Tucson and it is dated as 2005-2009. Not from 2007 |

Car Talk › Re: Why Are Toyota Cars Still So Expensive Abroad? by OfficialSam(m): 11:23am On Aug 11, 2019 |
erico2k2: I asked a simple question, ie durability. No need throwing ur dummy out of the pram yet, teh vast majority of you on here have never ever bought any of these brands brand new so how do you pass judgment beats me,you buy a 10-year-old car that has min 100k miles on it and start talking about durability. You are here talking about lack of Mechanics, mayB you live in one village, wake UP there are good mechanics everywhere, you just need to spend money cos these cars do not come with easy fix and they do not brake down often,.If you are talking of those toyota sold in 9ja as brand new that loses alignnment in 10 days of sale then Im done Just hear yourself. You sound confused, so you are the dummy here. Let me school you a bit. Durability is used to qualify a car, and not strength or being 'stronger' as you implied. I don't understand why folks who are not fans of Toyota will always bash and abuse others for their choices. Always claiming that Toyota fans are broke, as if it's easy to own a car in this hell called a country. I know of a few wealthy folks that owns flirt of cars that are all Toyota/Lexus models, and would not buy your German machines for peanuts. It's not about being financially buoyant or not. It is just a choice. Most families have various brands, but will still own at least a Camry or Corolla as their back up plan. Some people have issues trusting other brands because their first car served them well, hence they rather continue purchasing it till the end of time. It's called peace of mind. |

erico2k2: And you believe what you just said, what part of Toyota do you think is stronger than other brands ie VW and BMW What do you mean by 'stronger'? But if what you are insinuating is durability and reliability. I'm sorry to burst your bubbles; Toyota beats your Volkswagen & BMW hands down. The lack of expertise for your prefered brands should tell you that. Anyways, i hope you even own one. I'm tired of braggers on Nairaland Auto & Car talk section. |
Car Talk › Re: Why Are Toyota Cars Still So Expensive Abroad? by OfficialSam(m): 10:16pm On Aug 10, 2019 |
sultaan: Getting used to darkness doesn't mean we all live in darkness. We all have our preference and financial difference. If anyone has money sitting in the bank, the last thing they consider is the fuel economy and reliability of a Corolla/Camry. $25k car market is huge but not the only market. I want you to pick any model year of a Toyota and compare depreciation to a Jeep Wrangler or Subaru maybe you will understand that some cars are hot in the used market and Africa influenced Corolla and Camry is n big way Sincerely i don't understand your points at all. Every auto brand has its fuel efficient and economy models. Honda has Civic and City; Nissan has Primera & Almera; Hyundai has Elantra & Accent, likewise the rest of the auto brands. Hence, your emphasis on Corolla & Camry is baseless and inconsequential. Lastly, talking about the craze over Corolla & Camry serving as preferences for not too financially buoyant folks. Don't also forget there are other models of Toyota (or Lexus) that will give you a run for your money. Please i will advice that, the next time you argue, don't be overshadowed by sentiments. Enough said, let me respond to the BMW dude; hope he owns one and not just a bragger. |
Car Talk › Re: Why Are Toyota Cars Still So Expensive Abroad? by OfficialSam(m): 11:10pm On Aug 09, 2019*. Modified: 11:40pm On Aug 09, 2019 |
sultaan: I have stated the primary reason for that before and it comes down to resale value. Most of Africa buys used Toyota. Since I here is a huge export marker for Toyota, People in the US will buy a car they can resell used without losing a lot of money compared to a Chevy Cruze that will stay on the American market.
The third world can afford a used Corolla or Camry but a Land Cruiser is in another class where it is Toyota but sells far less than the American competition on the continent. Those who but it are not looking at the resale value as the main reason for purchase. In the last ten years Africans are buying fewer 4runner and you will see a drop in volume sold compared to the competition or the cheaper Highlander. Honestly, i have noticed your balderdash comments on Car Talk section for sometime now. I do not comprehend your silly rants at all. Toyota is the most reliable auto brand in the world dude. Deal with it!
