Mercy Chinwos, Sammy Okposos, Sinach, Frank Edwards, Tim Godfreys of the Nigerian gospel scene, are they Yoruba.

Chimamanda Adichie, a celebrity author and a world renowned speaker and activist, is she Yoruba?

Emoneys, Cubanas, Hushpuppis who are well known in the Nigerian lifestyle sphere, are they Yorubas?

Sorry I have just been informed Hushpuppi is Yoruba, serving his time in a US jail

IBO: Southern Nigeria - some considerations of its Structure, People and Natural History

A. E. Kitson c.1913

The Geographical Journal - v.41

The Ibo tribe is potentially a very powerful one, from which much can be expected with consolidation, the spread of modern ideas and careful, strictly just direction.

The people are observant, reflective thinkers, and rapid actors, with a remarkably keen and true sense of justice and determination to get it. They possess strong individuality.

Like the Yorubas, they are, as a people, honest, intelligent, industrious, cleanly, hospitable, and humorous, though more emotional, artistic, and musical. They are distinctly warlike, especially the branches east of the Niger.

In some districts every town is surrounded by a trench, wall, and belt of thick bush; in some cases with also an outer line of gun pits. In others each wall-girt house has its own fighting tower — storeyed and loopholed — commanding the entrance.

This condition of the country reflects strongly the character of the people.

As agriculturists after intelligent native methods, they are of a high order. It is a perfect picture and a revelation to see their farms when in their full wealth of verdure. There is no doubt that when settled conditions arrive the people will raise much produce for other than local markets.
...
Most tribes have a love of music and a crude knowledge of art, but the Ibo stands pre-eminent, his innate musical ability manifesting itself in various ways.

I have often enjoyed listening to the sweet melody, heartily sung by a group of young girls and children; to the soft chant of my garrulous carriers; to the simple but sweetly perfect dance-song of a swaying circle of women of Ebo, celebrating the killing of a crocodile; to the rhythmic, sonorous, and harmonious war-song of naked Ezzi [savages].

There are various kinds of musical instruments; among them some of the dulcimer type, but with wooden, cane, or palm plates; some like harps and rude violins; others like pipes and flutes.

The Ibos and the Binis have distinct artistic ability.

Many of the Ibo branches adorn their mud-walled houses, wooden doors, shrines, and playgrounds with neat modellings, paintings, and carvings of natural objects and geometrical designs. The people of the Ugep district, east of the Cross river, have fine examples of carved tree-trunks and blocks of stone.
...
Though most natives trade, the principal travelling traders are Hausas and Aros by land-transport; and Lagosians, Jekris, Brass men,Opobo and Bonny Ibos, and Efiks by canoes.

Iron smelting was largely done before bar-iron was imported. Yorubas still do so at Bode, Ijegun, Iporin, Odo Ogun, etc. The ore is magnetite, occurring in schists and in dykes of granite and pegmatite.

A. E. Kitson

The Geographical Journal - v.41

It's a good thing he wrote this stuff in 1913, before Nigeria came into existence.
If he wrote this a year later, it would have been inadmissible in our current argument.

Please Ijaw landgrabbers should pay attention to this. Only provide eviidence written by neutral observers and before Nigeria came into existence

grin Obasanjo is a dishonest fellow, he could not account for $16 billion power project, the money he shared among his ex military general friends yet saying most aspirants should be in jail.

When he was in power, he chose Goodluck Jonathan an Ijaw man as VP to his successor ignoring the Igbos he now preferred.
Nwokem, when OBJ was in power, no SS man had ever been the president of Nigeria, so OBJ was justified to want a SS man up around the corridors of power.

Presently, a SS man has done 5 years as the commander in chief, so OBJ is now justified to want an Igbo man at the helm

Ubini Ukpabi is Ibibio
Arochukwu is Igbo. Otherwise tell us what Arochukwu means in Ibibio

But in any case, we now know that a deity originally owned by the Ibibios, and eventually owned and controlled by the Igbos, was the major deity all Ijaws showed reverence to.
Your teeth-filing ancestors ran to Igbo priests of Ubini-Ukpabi in the Igbo town of Arochukwu and begged Igbos to intervene on their behalf.
This same Ubini-ukpabi, was and is not universal in all Igbo territories, which was why my people paid no reverence to it. All Ijaws must revere Ubini-ukpabi. It is greater than any deity your cannibal ancestors could ever come up with

By the way, I hope you have made a blown-up copy of Basden's map of Igboland, so that you can actually appreciate the hugeness of the Igbo territory. Stretching from the coasts of Ubani/Ibani/Okoloma to territories by the west of the Niger, and hundreds of kms to the east of the Niger.
Please read Basden's work. It will help you with knowing the actual dimensions of Igboland.

I am sure you know by now that any future gra-gra by your drunkard relatives in Bonny, will be met with adequate ferocity by our brother, the king of Bonny. No Amadabo will rear his ugly head in the Igbo territory of Bonny, without first paying proper respects and duly recognizing the king of Bonny, Nwanne anyi nwoke. Igbo Kwenu!!!

I'm driving at the point that y'all claim the ijaws worship the Aro deity in a sense that "YOUR DEITY" helped the ijaws when in fact it isn't your deity, nor your land because you peacefully and craftily entered there but rebelled and stole the land.
THAT'S WHAT I'M DRIVING AT.
The Eze Aro remains an Igboman so did the priests that attended to the long juju.
Bottomline is that your ancestors went to the Igbo town of Arochukwu, and sought the spiritual guidance of Igbo priests attending to the Ubini Ukpabi shrine.

Now just to add a little more detail. Nri people don't need to go to Arochukwu for anything. Nri people have it all, within the Nri sphere of influence. So an Nri man does not need to know what Ubini Ukpabi means or what people go there to do.

Nri-Igbo people brought civilization to clans you consider as superior to the Ijaws, and by this I mean Bini, Igala and Idoma, and all of them still use Nri-owned four market days.
Ancient Nri-Igbo priests had a deep knowledge of Astrology and Astronomy, as they were aware of heavenly bodies and their positions, which was what they made use of, while traversing the length and breadth of Igboland, Benin, Igalaland e.t.c.
That knowledge also allowed them to count the years and officially see in any new year, with the Eze Nri holding his usual yearly IGU ARO ceremonies. These are some deep aspects of civilization, Ijaw people probably still don't know, in spite of western civilization that has taken over Nigeria and advancements in astro-physics.

Power was given to the Yorubas in 1999, they did not take it.

It was the reigning junta that brought Obasanjo were he was rotting in jail to dust him up and wangle him to the presidency.
The ANPP allowed the candidate of a smaller party to become the presidential candidate of the union between AD and ANPP, to ensure Yorubas were the candidates of the only two parties at that particular time.

Igbos that are interested in the presidency are also asking for that consideration. Ogbonnaya Onu, who is a bonafide Igboman sacrificed his own ambitions, and made way for a candidate from a smaller party.

Moreover how many votes will SE give in 2023 when the terrorists will intimidate people with no voting but referendum and at the end you can't even present upto 500k votes to millions that will be coming from other zones.
Just as Yorubas were rewarded with the ANPP presidential ticket in 1999, even without Yorubas being in the party, so also are Igbos who are interested in the presidency, asking for that favour to be returned in 2023 by Yorubas.

Every major party has to chose an Igbo presidential candidate, as was done by the Igbos, who stood down for Yorubas in 1999 in ANPP, after Obasanjo had already won the PDP presidential ticket.

I believe the Igbos interested in the presidency are asking for Igbos to be chosen as the presidential candidates of all the major parties, just the same way Yorubas were also given the ANPP presidential candidacy, even though it was won by Ogbonnaya Onu.

Their request is very fair.

Last Anambra governorship election, the APC candidate was finished with all forms of rhetorics from Fulani party to he will sale us to Hausa Fulani, there will be insecurity ( I wonder if what is happening in anambra now is security wise).

If APC zoned presidency to west that is simple logic they have been voting for APC and Fulani had never taken over their lands likewise Insecurity hasn't overwhelmed them.

If you need Presidential ticket go to PDP or let APGA present a presidential candidate that won't sale you all to Hausa Fulani.

But APC is governing two Igbo states namely Imo and Ebonyi. So SE deserves the presidency. No party controls more state in the SE than APC.

That definitely does make the SE deserve the APC presidential ticket.

Indigenous languages (some of them creoles) include Fang, Bube, Benga, Ndowe, Balengue, Bujeba, Bissio, Gumu, Igbo, Pichinglis, Fa d'Ambô and the nearly extinct Baseke.
