sorry bro, my school in Nigeria offers biotechnology as a whole discipline..........nur vex o......am just saying........ and yea it does qualify him, cos they are related in a way.
The problem we are always having is inability to comprehend english yet our nigeria's first language is english grin

It is good to know your school offer the course ,what are you being sorry about? The next thing would be for you to let him know that he is qualified for Msc biotechnology with a bsc microbiology. So he could inform uni-assist.ev and ask that his documents be forwarded. Alles gut.

Pascalbaba:
Top of the morning to you wonderful people.
I got a report from uni-assist yesterday concerning my application (MSc biotechnology) to BTU Cottbus). It reads that my application can't be forwarded to the school because I've not yet attained the necessary undergraduate degree to qualify for the graduate program. My undergraduate course is microbiology and I'm sure its one of those courses that qualifies one for MSc biotechnology.

Also in the report, it was kindly noted that when my bachelor's degree (8semesters in Nigeria) was converted to German bachelor, it's 6semesters. Stating that 7-semester program is required to qualify one for the graduate program.

At this point, are they saying 8-semester program in Nigeria is equivalent to 6semesters in Germany? Was anyone in this dilemma before? What should be done now? Should I request that my application be forwarded to the school that way?

@Eke40seven, @phucado, @Hollyatan and everyone please come to my rescue.

Prompt and critical responses are needed please.
It is funny, that you can conclude that bsc microbiology qualifies you definitely for Msc biotechnology. This is totally wrong. Bsc biotechnology qualifies you for Msc biotechnology not bsc microbiology. Biotechnology as a whole discipline is technique. And I do not thing there is a school in Nigeria that does biotechnology as a whole discipline. Haven't said that. My advice, please try biological sciences. You could apply to unigiessen, agrobiotechnology. It will be accepted since it is not a whole biotechnology training but just part.

guys please answer my questions. please I really need ur answers
My opinion. Appeal your first refusal.
One of the interview questions is:

Have you ever applied for a visa?
Guess your answer is yes, I was refused

I know of few who appealed and it was granted. Some others appealed, reasons like, it is already too late were given. When some applied the previous year it was granted. Ultimately, some guys, who never appealed were rejected again, and also others who appealed . You previous refusal is an issue, appeal can resolve it.

Again, this is just my opinion

Boss! My reason for mentioning those monikers is to allow him/her read through their posts and if possible contact them for futher ideas.. I am not sure they both used the uni-assist doc.. I stand to be corrected though.
The embassy in Nigeria doesn't accept uni-assist processing letter for block account. For applicant study visa, you need maybe an invitation for an exam or the like. This has been discussed here ,read some pages back.

]You see this guy you are talking about, the Nigerian working at Studentenwerk, I know him in person.[/b] I strongly wouldn't subscribe to your showing proof to the studentenwerk. One thing that is clear for the 2015 summer entry is that Studentenwerk was overwhelmed with accommodation requests. I really don't know why you didn't apply online and follow due process. The fact that someone assists blacks doesn't mean we should bring him to the open. What happens when you 'report' him to studentenwerk that he gives accommodation to students who didn't apply online? What will be the backlash effect on generations of blacks with plans to study in Stuttgart in the future?

My one euro advice? Better you speak to the guy yourself to help you get the accommodation than calling him out to the Studentenwerk.

Where is the Cameroon boy with a HiWi at the MPI? Which group are you in? I think say na me be the only black for those twin Institutes oooo. Show your face.
I do not school in stuttgart and have no interest in stuttgart dorm. I only was concern, because of the nature of this story and the guy who claimed to be a Cameroonian in particular. His story was suspicious, and I thought I could do something so some people here don't lose their money. Anyhow, nothing is at stake here for me. We can as well forget the issue. As an advice to someone here, do not give your money to anyone because of accomodation. Do the right thing, by applying online. If you need a place to stay for the time being contact anyone you know or the school for assistance. The school will always give you options. Take one of the options. It is not what it. You will eventually get a place to stay. Ciao

Okay i need to make somes issues clear here. Because many of you are surprise or having some issues with some statement I have made. Well I don't blame you at all, I have been around many African that when there aren't able to achieve something on they own all they can do is complaint.
And I also know when it come to issue of fraud and corruption Cameroon is Nigeria petit frere.
For some of you, YES I'm Cameroonian and I'm proud @ Mr Eke40Seven,
I did my under Graduate in South Africa @ University of Pretoria and my average percentage was 92.5/100. And if some of you are having doubt well I don't blame you only God know what I'm saying is true. And if you want I can give you my fullname in private msg so that you can google my name I'm sure you will find somes of the paper that I wrote during my undergrad, and also price that I won during my curriculum. Or more. I can take a pic of my degree, my academic record with the graduation book with name and you will see where they mentioned I graduate Suma Cum laude, and before I forgot I won't the dean medal.
Well Mrs Crowns2, you can continue laughing and please don't laugh till you break your bed.
I guess it was because of my scientific publication and also achievement that I was offer a Hiwi position with Max Planck Solid state Institute.
Mr Kosplatean I hope I answer your question.

Please anyone coming to stuttgart this summer make sure you secure accommodation, I found a really good Nigerian guy who's working at the Studentwerk who help me secure accommodation since I didn't apply online, as my first choice was Magderbug. So I think if you are struggling he might also be of great help I will ask him about giving his email to student struggling with accommodation.
And I did answer all the email that I recieved, and will keep answering them to the best of my knowlegde.
Best Regards
This is the post I am referring to. Now studentenwerk stuttgart have said they do not give accomodation to those who did not apply, and I should provide proof. I need this young man to provide me the proof to send back to them. It was mentioned that there is usually a waiting list, that every student is given equal priority according to the earliest application.

I know someone would say maybe I am jobless or something. angry. I actually do not have a job. There was a post here by someone sometime back about a Nigerian securing accomodation for him in the studentenwohnheim in stuttgart without applying. I would like to raise that issue again, and if that moniker is kind and honest enough, let him respond or contact me . Otherwise, no one should contact him for his/her own good.

Hi....you can't pay for Uni assist with a form A. It doesn't meet the requirements for making payments via form A. I know this cos I work in a bank. What u can do is look for someone in Germany dat can help u make the payment then u credit the persons naira account, or do a direct FCR transfer from a euro domiciliary account.
Oh nice, it is good to have someone who works in a bank here when we have questions like this, but I would like to know which of the banks, I am aware most guys in the bank don't know trash about money transfer, at least I experienced it while I was in Nigeria. I practical had to explain everything to them. Anyhow, like I said before banks used to do it, I don't know about now, I am more certain about union bank. Anyone who wants to try should not rely on what a guy who works in a bank say. Contact the bank yourself. You can even try their customer care lines, you get better information from there.

Have you tried it bro? Or do you know of anyone who has done it successfully? I'm asking cos I found out from about 3 seperate banks including union bank, that a Form A requires an admission letter from the school at least, so it would be interesting to learn that this could be done at least for the benefit of those yet to pay. Alles Gute.
The banks were doing it. Form A was not only used for school fees payment . It was also used for other kind of transactions like payment for goods or individuals you did business with. But now I think the system is very tight. It is not easy to pay even school fees presently with form A come to talk of application fees. I will say he/she should inquire at the bank, especially union bank. That is where I did mine.

Also to the guy paying. When you get to the bank maybe union make sure you separate the uniassist.ev IBAN to ACC, BIC and branch name. That is what I know they can work with. Or else they will turn you down.

Firstly I'm not your friend, and I do not know why answering an inquiry made by babanila related to how I secure my admission at uni Stuttgart becomes big issues here. I actually thought this platform was there available to help fellow students seeking assistance but It have turn out to be platform to harrassed others willing to help, and I am not even a Nigerian.
Yes a Nigerian guy help me for accommodation, and those claiming he is a frauster "shame on you". You can insult me saying my English isn't at point i get that neither French, English, German nor PidginEnglish are my mother tongue, So i really don't care. But i found it very offensive when you open your mouth and insult someone who almost twice my aged and Of course much older than you. Without even consider or reading the fact.
Ask me the proper questions likes how did that happen, which program i am doing, under which institute then i will answer you and u will get all the fact straight. In my course every admitted student have thier named send to the student housing department (by the course coordinator) for accommodation but since i was late (and since you are on my case i assumed u know why i was late) and the number of place allocated to us were full for this session my only option were to wait till May 2016. But the nigerian guy appilled to his boss saying there's a close that allocation of room are made based on the km you are from and that i am very far and so on. That's when i was able to get a room. Because of his intervention. And that's when i ask if he can send me a copy of these clauses so that student can fight for accommodation on campus based on that. And he laugh and that what he say to me exactly (abi no wahala we dey african in olybo land and i dey work here so i fit help new comer...)
In my culture you should respect elders no matter how old they are even if he is just few weeks older than you. and i assume u are much older than me that why i am amassed when reading your post insulting that dude who help me .
If it was a scam as some people claimed here, how come, I signed a Rental contract and did register at the local allien office with that address on the rental contract and extended my permit and working paper here in Stuttgart with that ?

You talk about my level of english and how i did managed with papers and projects I challenged anyone on this thread who did Chemical Engineering and did specialised on Process control and Monitoring in their third and final year how much english course were needed for the program huh We are more exposed with program such as Matlad, AspenPlus and many more. If you did attend international conference during your undergrad course u will surely know that most speaker are from China, India, Germany breif English isnt thier first language, but when they exposed their project u can see the contain of it and see that they know what they are talking about.
If the course u are doing now is taught in English u wanna tell me that the German lecture teaching you is perfect or fluent in English ? Why don't you complain about that ? Because i am african like you and did achieve it will become and issues

Anyway I really had enough and this will be my last post, all people needed my help are having my cell-number now and we are chatting on the regular based (currently 4 of them coming to stuttgart this summer and one coming to the same program as me) other needed my help you can get my number from my good friend "kciano". I think i have done my part and will be glad to help others.

Best Regards
You can rant all you want. I don't care. It is good you know most common monikers in this forum and I wonder what message that sends to me. I am very busy, but I most do this research on how studentenwerk operates in stuttgart, I am writing an enquiry to them write now and if all the contradicting stories you have been telling this forum are lies, I will make it known shortly. Lol don't get me wrong bro, the reason i am more friendly and willing to help Nigerians national, Its bcz all the difficult situation i found myself into, most people willing to help at that moment were Nigerians and that's why I am taking my time to help other people in this thread.
The Nigerian Sir who help me at studentenwohnheim it is an amazing guy, and i was with him at Church yesterday and i told him about this thread and our struggle to get accommodation, and I am sure in the nearest future he will also sign up and help other with his own personal experience since he have been here for more than 10 years.
The reason he was eager to help it because my course coordinator also did send a letter to his boss.
Anyway i don't see why i have to explain myself all the time. Hence, people coming to Stuttgart I will be really happy to assist to the best of my capacity in most part of your journey.
So what is offensive and annoying here, anway I guess all i am doing it what they called the Ubuntu spirit back in SA
My friend, you should tell us the game you are playing. Take a look at the bolded, and your message to this forum. You have said that your Nigerian friend could secure a room for anyone who is in need of it. And now you say, you course coordinator send an email to his boss in your case that's why he could secure the room for you. Mr, I know who are but how does this work for you? I mean the scam thing.
And also who doesn't have a course coordinator amongst the applicants for student housing?

I find this post very offensive and annoying. That a Nigerian secured a room in the studentenwohnheim for you when you did not apply. I think you discredit nigeria with this post because we all know it is not done. Even when it did happened, you call us fraudsters with this post. I do not have anything to say about you acclaimed successes because you can say what ever rubbish you like. What I wont accept is discrediting Nigerians here.
What even brought you to a forum like this in the first place? People who come here have either been here during their application or are presently sourcing for information on how to process theirs. If you are already schooling in Deutschland, what are you looking for here, if you are not fraudulent.?

Yeah but that's a seperate issue from what we are discussing, even if you have a plan to get the money for block account, that doesn't make you rich enough at the moment to make all the applications, some people sponsor themselves for the application process so with the admission letter they can then convince those willing to help them. BTW, I would agree it is risky to do the contact thing, I'm just against the myopic view that because someone applies to study abroad then his bank account is already full to settle all application expenses. This is not an issue anyway, Ciao.
Have the money or have a plan on how to get the money before you apply.

Many thanks.
TUM rejected my documents too. They give me admission and asked me to send it later.
They can admit you even if it is not properly sealed or certified. And don't get me wrong. You have to do it properly as stated in the website. Else it is assumed they haven't received a certified copy even after you have been admitted. Just wanted you to know this.

No, Birth certificate must either be from NPC or declaration of age from high court, it can serve as biography, if you have baptism card from your church if you are a Christian it is OK.
Everyone has a local government of origin certificate. You can use it too for biographically old document.

I however have a question for you all to help me with; I'm planning towards this summer term(2016), getting my documents ready but my international passport is getting me worried as it will expire by January 2017.

Going by what I saw on daad.de that one's passport must be valid for one's period of stay, is it wise enough to go ahead with my application with this said passport or I should get a new one to begin my application with?

Thank you all for your detailed response.

Nah! I don't think that will be possible. From experience, it will take you a week or even more depending on how fast they or you are at that point.

The info will be useful for people going for the next summer or winter semester.
The bolded gets me confused. What I am saying is that I have contacted them before now and was sent the insurance form. I was also asked to send my passport, passport photo and admission letter which I decided to send to them some minutes ago. I would like to know if the insurance certificate and the insurance card would be sent to me on Monday. How long did it take them to send yours after sending to them the signed insurance form and the other documents as requested by them?

I had explained in details before, this is just an update. You can register with AOK from here for your insurance. Note however that they your insurance will continue to count from the day school starts. Mine is October 1st whether I'm in Germany or not. So from October 1st the insurance which could have covered me in Germany, can be used in lieu of the one from Nigeria.
And note, that its same insurance company I will continue with when I get to Germany.

Reach them online through their student service mail and they will direct you on how you can go about the whole procedure. I will look for the mail later.
OK, oga boss thanks. But also I just sent to them the completed form and other documents they requested for. do you think they can reply on Monday and on time? judging from the time it took them to send yours.
