Manchester United have signed Brazil winger Antony from Ajax for an initial fee of 95m euros (£82m).

The deal, which includes a potential 5m euros (£4.3m) of add-ons, is the fourth most expensive signing in Premier League history.

The 22-year-old has signed a contract until 2027, with the option of an additional year.

"This is an incredible moment in my career to join one of the most iconic clubs in the world," said Antony.

"I'm thankful to everyone who has believed in me, especially my family, and all my coaches and team-mates, because I could not have got here without them.

"Playing under Erik ten Hag at Ajax was perfect for me and my development. His style of football and coaching brings out the best in me, and I am excited by what he has told me about his plans and ambitions in Manchester."

Antony scored 24 goals and provided 22 assists in 82 appearances for Ajax. He joined the Dutch champions from Sao Paulo in 2020 and played under Ten Hag.

He netted seven goals in 11 Champions League appearances for Ajax and scored twice in nine appearances for Brazil since making his debut in October 2021.

Manchester United's record transfer fee is £89m, which they paid out to sign Paul Pogba from Juventus in August 2016.

The attacker becomes United's fifth signing of the summer, following the arrivals of his former Ajax team-mate and defender Lisandro Martinez, midfielder Casemiro from Real Madrid, full-back Tyrell Malacia from Feyenoord and playmaker Christian Eriksen on a free transfer.

United have spent more than £210m in this transfer window to back new boss Ten Hag, while several players such as Pogba, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata, Nemanja Matic, Edinson Cavani and Andreas Pereira have left.

Chelsea have signed French centre-back Wesley Fofana from Leicester City on a seven-year deal for £70m plus add-ons.

A France Under-21 international, Fofana joined Leicester from French side Saint-Etienne in 2020 and has since made 37 Premier League appearances.

He was restricted to just seven league games during the 2021-22 campaign after breaking his leg in a pre-season friendly against Villarreal.

"The two last days have been really big for me and I'm very happy," he said.

"I trained this morning with the team and it's a dream for me. I'm very excited to start playing games for the fans and the club.

"I'm here to win trophies - the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup, everything. I came here to win and the club is built to win trophies so I'm here to continue that."

Even with add-on payments, the deal for the 21-year-old does not exceed the £80m that Manchester United paid Leicester for Harry Maguire in 2019 - still a world record for a defender.

Chelsea chairman Todd Boehly said: "Wesley is a hugely promising defender who has already proven his quality in the Premier League at a young age. We are delighted we were able to bring one of Europe's most exciting talents to Chelsea and further strengthen that area of our squad, both for this season and many more to come."

Fofana was part of Brendan Rodgers' starting XI as Leicester won the FA Cup for the first time in their history by beating Chelsea in the 2021 final.

"Every player wants to play Champions League football so it's understandable.

Elliot Senseman, from Pennsylvania, US, died in awful circumstances when he suffocated as the massive boa constrictor stopped his airflow.

Doctors were unable to save Elliot who was treated for his injuries in hospital before he died. He passed away on Sunday, July 24, four days after the incident.

Lehigh County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio said: "A Boa Constrictor type snake approximately 18ft in length constricted around the neck of Mr Senseman, thus causing the anoxic brain injury (complete lack of oxygen to the brain)."

Local media reports that it was his grandmother who found him on the floor with the snake wrapped tightly around his neck.

She called the police who were forced to shoot and kill the snake to make sure the suffocating Elliot was released from its clutches.

A report by Upper Macungie Township Police Department said: "[He was found] unresponsive and lying on the floor of the home with the mid portion of a large snake wrapped around the male's neck.

"Due to the massive size of the reptile (estimated to be 15+ feet), one of the officers was able to shoot the snake in the head without risking further injury to the male.

"Once the snake was injured from the gunshot, the officers were able to pull the male to safety."

Elliot's family said he was a snake enthusiast with a passion for conservation and had been handling them since he was the age of just 10.

He was reportedly cleaning the cage when the snake became aggressive and attacked him.

A woman who said she was raped by footballer Benjamin Mendy has told a court he boasted about having had sex with 10,000 women after attacking her.

Mr Mendy, 28, has denied eight counts of rape, one of attempted rape and one of sexual assault.

The woman told Chester Crown Court the attack, which jurors heard had left her bleeding, lasted about 15 minutes but "felt like the longest day of my life".

She added the "hardest thing that makes me upset is how many times I said no".

The jury was told the woman was invited back to the Manchester City player's home for a party with her three friends in October 2020, after they met at a bar in Alderley Edge.

She said the French international took her phone and found private messages on her Snapchat account, before going upstairs.

The 20-year-old woman told the court she had followed him, asking for her phone back, but he went through a double door, which she said had a secure lock like a hotel bedroom.

The woman told the court that she said to the footballer: "Listen, I want my phone, I don't know what you think is going on. I don't want sex with you."

To which she said he replied: "The door is locked anyway."

The jury was told the footballer asked her to UnCloth, stating that he just wanted to see her body.

She said she had felt that was "the lesser of two evils" and that she had been scared because she did not know what he could do.

She said he threw her phone on the bed and when she reached for it, he began forcing himself on her.

The jury was told she repeatedly said she did not want to have sex with him.

She said he raped her three times, which lasted about 15 minutes, but "felt like the longest day of my life", adding that the "hardest thing that makes me upset is how many times I said no".

She told the court: "My body was so tense. It was just this pain."

She said after being attacked, Mr Mendy boasted about having had sex with 10,000 women and told her not to tell anyone about what had happened.

The court was told Mr Mendy left the woman bleeding, then said to her: "Don't tell anyone and you can come over here every night," like it was a "privilege" to have sex with him.

'Most traumatic thing'
Mr Mendy, who denies all of the charges against him, is on trial alongside co-defendant Louis Saha Matturie, 41.

Mr Matturie, of Eccles, Salford, has denied eight counts of rape and four of sexual assault.

The day after the alleged incident, the woman said she got a Snapchat message from Mr Mendy with lots of question marks, and one from Mr Matturie saying: "Are you OK? Please can you call me so we can discuss?"

She took screenshots and blocked both their numbers.

Both men said if any sex had taken place with women or girls it was consensual.

In cross-examination, Eleanor Laws QC, defending Mr Mendy, put it to the woman that her phone contained "very explicit" photos that she was "happy" for him to look at before she gave him MouthAction.

The woman said: "No, absolutely not."

Ms Laws suggested the footballer had not talked about having sex with 10,000 women, or that it was a "privilege" to have sex with him.

The woman replied: "I'm absolutely certain, in high definition in my mind, it's the most traumatising thing that has ever happened to me."

The trial continues.

Manchester United are closing in on the signing of Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro for 60m euros (£50.7m) plus 10m euros (£8.5m) in add ons.

Talks have progressed quickly and United are optimistic the deal for the Brazil international, 30, will be completed in the next few days.

Casemiro has been with Real since 2013, winning three La Liga titles and five Champions Leagues.

United are bottom of the Premier League and host Liverpool on Monday.

Casemiro would become one of the United's top earners if he completes the move and would sign a four-year contract with the option of an additional year.

After talks to sign Juventus' Adrien Rabiot collapsed over the player's demands, United have turned their attention to Casemiro as they look to address weaknesses in Erik ten Hag's midfield.

Although Casemiro has a contract that runs to 2025, Real are mindful of the scale of United's offer of a contract that could extend to 2027 once the option of an additional season is added on. They would not stand in his way if he decided to accept.

He would arrive at United on a big salary in keeping with his status as one of 30 players nominated for this year's Ballon D'Or, even if his place at Real is under threat from new arrival Aurelien Tchouameni.

One of the best defensive midfield players in the world, Casemiro has been effective in a team that drops deep when it does not have possession, which Real tend to do with Luka Modric and Toni Kroos in their team.

Casemiro's impact can be seen by looking at Opta statistics to compare his figures against those of other central midfielders in La Liga last season.

The Brazil international ranked top for successful blocks, placed second for tackles made, behind Barcelona's Sergio Busquets, and also came third overall for possession won. Real Sociedad's Mikel Merino was first and Busquets runner-up in that latter category.

He also contributed to Real's attacks, ranking fifth for forward passes and joint-sixth for shots among the league's central midfielders.

Casemiro spent a season away from the Bernabeu on loan at Portuguese side Porto in 2014-15 but returned to Spain the following season after Real activated his buy-back clause.

He has made 222 appearances for the Spanish giants and scored 24 goals.

The World Athletic Championships have been shrouded in controversy after the women's 100m hurdles world record was destroyed.

Tobi Amusan of Nigeria shocked the athletics world with her semi-finals time of 12.12 seconds - a whole 0.08sec quicker than American Kendra Harrison’s previous record from 2016. Across all three semis, 12 of the 24 runners set new personal best times.

The flurry of records prompted sprint legend Michael Johnson to question the timing system. Taking to Twitter, he wrote: "I don’t believe 100h times are correct. World record broken by .08! Twelve PBs set. Five national records set. And Cindy Sember quote after her PB/NR: ‘I thought [sic] I was running slow!’ All athletes looked shocked.

"Heat 2 we were first shown winning time of 12.53. Few seconds later it shows 12.43. Rounding down by .01 is normal. .10 is not."

Johnson then later said while working for the BBC: "I don’t believe these times, let’s look at the racing."

Writer Jonathan Gault also cast doubt, tweeting: "Struggling to comprehend what just happened in the women's 100m hurdles semifinals. Did Tobi Amusan really just crush the previous world record of 12.20 in the same race in which five of the eight starters ran lifetime bests? Officially wind-legal. What happened here?"

Amusan could barely believe the time herself, but it stood and she was rewarded with a $100,000 (£83k) bonus. And she then went on to win the final in an even more astonishing 12.06sec.

In a bizarre new craze, young people are reportedly using flavoured condoms to get high.

Officials in Durgapur, a city in the Indian province of West Bengal, are concerned following a surge in demand for condoms.

Local shopkeepers say that they used to sell three or four packets each day, yet now there is hardly ever any on shelves.

One shopkeeper reportedly asked a young man why he buys so many condoms, to which he replied that he uses them to get intoxicated.

News18 Bangla quoted an official as explaining that soaking flavoured condoms in hot water releases an aromatic compound.

Young people in the Durgapur will leave them in water for several hours before drinking the water, which gets them high for around 10 to 12 hours.

"Condoms contain aromatic compounds. It breaks down to form alcohol. It is addictive. This aromatic compound is also found in dendrite glue. So many people use dendrite for addiction also," said Dheeman Mandal, who works at Durgapur Divisional Hospital.

Durgapur RE College Model School Chemistry teacher Nurul Haque explained: "The long-term soaking of condoms in hot water causes intoxication due to the breakdown of large organic molecules into alcoholic compounds."

Condoms aren't the only household items that people in India have used to get high.

According to OpIndia, other items such as cough syrup, glue, paint, nail polish, hand sanitisers, aftershave, balm or Iodex continue to be used to get high.

In Nigeria there have been booms in the sales of toothpaste and shoe ink for similar reasons.

The rapper is producing and starring in the new flick, Skill House which is dark satire that looks into social media and influencer culture and is an unflinching take on fame and what new celebrities are willing to do to attain it.

A nurse was slammed for wearing an "inappropriate" uniform to work but defended herself by saying it's just her hourglass figure.

Erika Diaz, 22, works as a nurse after graduating from a university in Texas, US, and she recently went viral after posting a video of herself in a scrub suit.

Chelsea have confirmed the signing of England forward Raheem Sterling from Manchester City in a £50m deal.

Sterling, 27, has signed a five-year contract at Stamford Bridge.

City signed Sterling from Liverpool in a £49m deal in 2015. He went on to score 131 goals in 339 games, winning four Premier League titles.

Capped 77 times by England, Sterling is Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel's first major signing since the Todd Boehly-led takeover.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are set to sign Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly and close to a move for Manchester City centre-back Nathan Ake.

"I've obviously achieved a lot in my career so far, but there is still so much more to achieve and I'm really looking forward to doing that in a Chelsea shirt, under Thomas' management," said Sterling.

"London is my home and where it all started for me, and it's amazing I now have the opportunity to play in front of friends and family week in, week out at Stamford Bridge. I'm really looking forward to meeting the fans there soon."

He added: "I can't wait to get going now and continue to do my talking on the pitch."

Sterling's deal is worth up to £50m including add-ons. He had one year left on his contract at City and had attracted interest from major clubs overseas.

He has linked up with the Chelsea squad in Los Angeles for pre-season.

Since Pep Guardiola became City manager in 2016, only Sergio Aguero (124) has scored more goals for City than Sterling (120).

Sterling scored 13 goals in 30 Premier League appearances last season as he won his fourth league title, his 11th major honour in seven seasons with City.

City director of football Txiki Begiristain added: "Raheem has been a wonderful servant for Manchester City, and he leaves our club on the best terms possible having helped us win yet another Premier League title.

Sterling's opportunities were restricted by last summer's signing of Jack Grealish, while forwards Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez have arrived at Etihad Stadium this summer.

Sterling was on the bench for both legs of the Champions League semi-final defeat by Real Madrid and the epic final game of the season against Aston Villa.

However, he did spark that memorable last-day comeback by setting up Ilkay Gundogan's crucial first goal as City came back from 2-0 down to win 3-2 and pip Liverpool to the league title.

Chelsea boss Tuchel was looking to boost his attacking ranks after Romelu Lukaku rejoined Inter Milan on a season-long loan.
