Bros! Let's leave transmission, distribution an the rest aside, let talk of "GENERATION"first,we are saying that in almost six years jonathan's admin.can not give us atleast 7000MW(add to Maybe two 2000MW or so we had earlier)by now we be hiting just under 10000MW,then you can now Talk of distribution an the rest. As it is now even if you buy transformer for every household,we wud still not have regular power because we are not generating enof.
Most of the generating plants are gas powered and beyond being completed, they cannot start operations until gas is supplied to them. Installed generating capability if gas is available to all of them is presently above 7000 mega watts, but what is actually being operational based on gas availability is 4500 mega watts. Even at that, sabotage of gas pipelines is preventing us from consistently generating at that capacity. The question you should be asking is this, can the present transmission facility evacuate 5000 mega watts from the GENCOs to the DISCOs? The answer is no and Prof Nebo has stated as much. You need a holistic approach in order to deliver power to the final consumer. Prof Nebo was simply speaking holistically.

Abeg
Show us anywhere in the world
where 1MW of electricity = 1billion dollars

For a whole prof to utter the above statement
Then Nigeria is in trouble
That means Nigeria spends 4.5 trillion dollars to generate its present 4500MW shocked shocked shocked
The Prof said ''The cost of providing electricity per megawatt on average is $2billion''. He was talking about the cost of generation, transmission and distribution, down to the final consumers. If you generate power without it getting to the people who need it, it becomes a sheer waste of time. Most of the power contracts awarded by OBJ were in the area of generation, and that was why consumers never felt the impact because the then existing transmission facilities were incapable of back-hauling the power from the GENCOs to the DISCOs. Even at the DISCO level, they may not even have the capacity to receive what is sent to them. That is why a proper costing should factor in all that is required to make it available to the consumer. GEJ has been investing heavily in improving the transmission facility to most of the major cities in the country. It is a massive investment that will take many years before the people would enjoy 24/7 power supply across most parts of the country.

See this one!... mister know all.... you think say 2billion dolls na 2 billion naira ba...... anyways Politics has beclouded your mind... I'm done talking to you......
2 billion dollars to generate, transmit and distribute 2 mega watts of power to the consumers is not abnormal. It is only abnormal for people who expect university education to be free for all, power supply to be free for all, health insurance to be free for all etc. That is why the APC in their manifesto is promising to spend over 50 trillion naira in 4 years if voted into power. It is not a surprise that people who are very poor in numeracy are making bogus promises all over the place, with little or no idea of what they are talking about. If I had my way, A1 in mathematics at school cert level would be a minimum requirement for anybody who wants to contest for any political office in nigeria. This would go a long way in reducing the amount of trash in the name of campaign promises some of these politicians are making. GEJ has got the best economic team ever assembled to manage the nigerian economy, and whatever challenges that have slowed down the pace of their work has been due to outright sabotage by disgruntled elements who are out to discredit the government. It is hoped that people who know little to nothing about some issues should desist from causing confusion through some of the silly comments they are posting on social media.

My brother am surprised that nobody challenged him on spurious and dumb statements...2billion dollars shud fund nothing less than 1,500MW,obviously they are stealing the money if that is the case
You should factor in the cost of generating, transmitting and distributing 2 megawatts capacity to consumers. He was not talking about generation alone.

The problem in nigeria today is that social media has afforded all manners of characters to come online to spew thrash. I implore you to do a little research of the profile of Prof Nebo before coming here to advertise your idiocy. When the Erudite Prof says it costs 2 billion USD per Mega watts, he knows what he is talking about. Those of us who are well informed know that the man is absolutely correct and that is why we are not queuing up behind the cattle rearer and mooing 'change' like one of those his 150 cows.

If your Buhari had half the integrity that Prof. Nebo has, the north would have been a better place than UAE. For you to refer the well respected Prof Nebo as corrupt clearly shows that your type and your mentor Buhari are really deranged and need to be put in an asylum for lunatics. Buhari can never achieve the credibility that Prof Nebo has, even if he is given 50 more years to work on his criminal records. Your type are the consequence of the tragedy of the present nigerian society where criminals who have evaded the law will later put themselves up for political office, simply by sheer propaganda and falsehood. If any of these seven points are true, then Jega should be arrested immediately and tried for treason. These points should be investigated immediately by the DSS and all those culpable must be arrested immediately and tried for treason. Sacking Jega should be the least action that should be taken against him. There should be an immediate reshuffle of INEC RECs to forestall any attempt to compromise the integrity of the elections.

Just wondering why APC celebrates ignorance. NAIRA VALUE WAS AS A RESULT OF FALLEN OIL PRICE. The reason okonjo iweala is working hard to diversify our revenue base.
The major issue with the naira right now is that the APC through their companies, are mopping up all the foreign exchange in circulation, in other words, they are colluding with some banks to engage in foreign exchange racketeering so as to create artificial scarcity that will continue to drive down the value of the naira. The CBN should simply ask the banks to provide all the details on their FOREX transactions within the past two months and immediately withdraw the banking license of any of the erring banks. The erring banks must be made to pay a heavy price in colluding with the APC to destroy the nigerian economy, with the APC using same to rubbish GEJ's government. This is a time for GEJ to really go tough on these economic saboteurs. GEJ till 2019.

PoliticsRe: Wamakko To Service Chiefs, IGP: Resign Now For Dereliction Of Duties by ogene007: 5:42pm On Feb 08, 2015
It is Wamako and the sokoto state REC who should resign for their attempt to disenfranchise some LGAs in sokoto state by having their PVCs burnt, while agitating for non-shifting of the elections. The Service Chiefs and the top security hierarchy ought to be commended for their sense of patriotism in recommending the shift in election date. We implore the security agencies to investigate the activities of those 20 RECs that were against the shifting of the elections, especially as it concerns the low PVC collection in their states occasioned mostly by the strange disappearance of the PVCs of innocent voters. Jega must as a matter of urgency, ensure that all missing PVCs are reproduced and the owners contacted to collect them within the next four weeks, else we would safely conclude that he has also sold out to the agenda of the evil forces trying to destroy Nigeria. We recommend that the President, as the Chief Security Officer of the country, places all suspicious elements officials within and outside INEC under security watch, inorder to ensure that the integrity of the elections is not compromised. This president has shown the willingness to give us a credible election, and must not allow desperate politicians to scuttle the whole process. If the president has refused to induce INEC to his own advantage, he must also ensure that no political party infiltrates INEC at whatever level to induce it to their own selfish interests. Jega is advised to pay more attention to what the RECs are doing in their individual states, to ensure that they don't tarnish his name. GEJ till 2019.
PoliticsRe: Gunmen Storm Lagos Press, Confiscate Book On Jonathan by ogene007: 2:35pm On Feb 08, 2015
viczing:
Like actions in Hollywood blockbusters, gunmen, which number could not be easily ascertained, on Friday morning raided a printing press in Shomolu area of Lagos State, carting away copies of a book on the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan.

Our correspondent gathered that the gunmen harassed the printers and took away copies of the book, entitled Two-Faced Jonathan: 100 Reasons Why Jonathan Must Go, authored by Blessing Agbomhere.

Workers in the printing press who were too  frightened, could not ask questions or confront the gun-wielding men suspected to be security operatives.

Speaking to journalists on the development, Agbomhere said the book was scheduled for launch at the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) Secretariat in Lagos, before the incident.

Agbomhere, who is also the initiator of Change Ambassador of Nigeria (CAN), said, “This book was being printed in Shomolu and I was told that the book that was to be launched today (Saturday) was taken away after someone within the printing press, who has sympathy for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), alerted security operatives about it.

“They came and confiscated all the printed copies of the book.  They came in mufti.

“We don’t know the arm of security agency that they belong to, or whether they are private individuals or not.

“The printers had to immediately release the books to them, because, they were heavily armed. I am not owing them. I have already paid them.”

Agbomhere added that the book mirrors Jonathan as a “President of the cabal, Tompolo, Asari-Dokubo and a few other corrupt elements, who are sponsoring Boko Haram to destroy Nigeria’s unity.

“The book says President Jonathan has failed to defend the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and as such should not seek re-election or ask for a job he know he doesn’t have the capacity to do,” he said.

The author dared Jonathan to act on the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) forensic audit report and bring those indicted by the report to book.

Also speaking, Ibilola Essien, a social entrepreneur with Act Now Nigeria, a non-governmental organisation, said the present administration has not done enough to salvage the country from the many problems besieging it.

According to her, poverty and corruption have continued to soar, while insecurity in the North East has claimed over 15,000 lives since 2009.

The resident electoral commissioner for Lagos state should be redeployed immediately, it is clear that the APC has compromised him. INEC should immediately open up a special mechanism to resolve this issue in less than 2 weeks from now. The FG should ensure that Jega deals with this peculiar Lagos issue immediately within the next two weeks. The APC knows that Lagos is going to the PDP, and are desperately trying to disenfranchise eligible voters. That was why they were the proponents of election date not being shifted, so that they can rig the process through disenfranchising a majority of Lagos voters, for how can one explain the fact that Lagos has less than 40% success in the collection of PVCs. In the coming weeks, the entire rigging plan of the APC, which unfortunately has been scuttled by the postponement would be made public. GEJ till 2019.
PoliticsRe: US Condemns Postponement Of Nigeria’s Elections by ogene007: 1:01pm On Feb 08, 2015
They US should concern itself with cleaning up the mess it created in Syria which gave rise to the IS terrorist group rather than meddling in the affairs of Nigeria. This has clearly shown that the US knows a lot about BH and the plot to breakup Nigeria than they are telling the whole world. I guess this has put spanners in the works of their plans to precipitate the breakup of the country.

The US under Obama, has indeed become the new axis of evil and destabilization across the entire world. First they refused to sell urgently needed weapons to the Nigerian military, which would have helped us crush BH months ago, they went further to block other attempts Nigeria made to acquire weapons fom other countries. On the other hand, they were busy using CNN to rubbish the war efforts of the government, with the aim of painting GEJ as weak on the issue of security, on an election year.

Why would they not be disappointed with the postponement of the elections. They should please mind their own business, after all, they do not consult Nigeria when they want to deal ith their own internal issues. We are capable as a country in managing our issues. By the mercies and grace of the Lord God Almighty, GEJ will defeat all these evil forces, both within and outside Nigeria, and Nigeria will continue to move forward. GEJ till 2019.
