I know of a woman who did . The husband got married to a Japanese woman so he become a citizen and get a job . He has two girls with the woman now , and the nigerian woman also have two children . Last December , the Japanese woman came to Nigeria, the man introduced his Nigerian wife to the Japanese as the sister. She only communicate in igbo whenever the japanese woman is there . They stayed for two weeks , and this man never comes home , he is fully in Japan, as the woman won't let him come home alone . Menh, that woman took shit , all for greener pasture .

I love Achebe , but I woukdnt give him the father of literature .first because , he is only a master of one segment , which is fiction , or story telling . He was only lucky to have his work as the first to be published in Africa.several good writers got their works published after his 'things fall apart ' that a man is the first to get his work published doesn't necessarily make him the best .every writer to his orbit as soyinka said . There shouldn't be anything as father of literature , the word pioneer should fit more , and he should be restricted to just fiction . Achebe died a resentful person . Read his last work , then you will see that Achebe never loved Nigeria.

I agree With the contributions so far . I think also , Nollywood should focus more on producing good drama , and adventure. Now , if that is the case , then our producers should begin to challenge themselves into producing quality movies , both technology and story line wise . And the government should see to curbing out piracy as is one of the reasons will have many low budget movies , as nobody wants to invest where he or she won't profit from . If quality drama are produced , then we could pick up other genres.


P S :can anybody direct me to a body. Of writers , where I could also be a member , so that will help me learn from others , and sharpen my skills
