My Brother, once the day of your interview comes around, just go to the Abuja Embassy at most 7am on you are there on Ground. Cross check all your documents, if you are married or have a common law marriage with kids then it wud like be an advantage. Once the 8am appointment announcement is made, quickly join the line, don't be in a hurry as camera's are everywhere. Your dress mode must be corporate, and your Passport Photograph should not be the one you took with the same shirt that very morning, dress maturedly either in native or corporate wear to snap the passport and it should be exactly the DV Visa Lottery Passport Size with white background. And on the day of your interview, dress on suite with tie and tucken very well. Be very bold, and be ready to defend your reason for traveling abroad, is not a do or die affair. But the best part is that, you should never close your mouth once you arrived there. Just keep praying and talking to God, pray for his Mercy and Favor upon you. And you will come back here to share the testimony if you do it this way. NB: You will not be ask to Pay any more Money as the 23,150 you payed at GTbank is your Visa fee and the only Money you would ever pay. What they would mostly check is your Bank Account Statement and another question is where you are going to in the United States, The State and tourist center there since you mention you going for tourism, make sure you'd be familiar with all that and if you have relative in the States, answer: NOOOOO. You have tie to Nigeria like kids, if you have tell them, if you don't still them and let them know you can't run away for any reason. Gbam over and out. |
provided by MainSt by Seth Fiegerman Many Americans rejoiced at the news that the economy added nearly 250,000 jobs in January, but that's only the tip of the iceberg. The economy is expected to add more than 20 million jobs by 2020, a 14.3% increase from 2010 in the number of people employed, according to recent data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Many of these jobs will be focused in a few key industries. The health care and social assistance industry is projected to add more than 5.6 million jobs this decade, more than any other sector, largely because the population is getting older and will require more care. Meanwhile, the construction and retail industries are expected to add more than 3.5 million jobs in this time as demand for these services increases from a low point in 2010 in the aftermath of the recession. While the overall number of people employed is expected to grow by 14.3% in this period, some professions are projected to grow at more than three times that pace. MainStreet took a look at the 10 professions expected to expand at the fastest pace, which are by and large in either the construction or health care industries and require some postsecondary education. These positions don't always come with the biggest paychecks, but if you're looking for a profession with solid job prospects, these 10 are your best bet. The Fastest-Growing Job: Personal Care Aides The number of people employed as personal care aides is expected to nearly double this decade. While this will create hundreds of thousands of new job opportunities, the downside is that these positions tend to be low-paying ones. The median wage for personal care aides was just $19,640 in 2010, even less than the $20,560 earned by home health aides. That said, these positions usually do not require advanced education or even a high school diploma. Instead, candidates receive extensive on-the-job training, which make these jobs particularly great options for those who can't afford higher education or those who are trying to switch careers without going back to school. Employment in 2010: 861,000 workers Projected Employment in 2020: 1,468,000 workers Increase: 69.4% 2nd Fastest-Growing Job: Home Health Aides The health care and social assistance industry is expected to gain about 5.6 million jobs by 2020, more than any other sector in that time period, according to the BLS data. As MainStreet has reported before, much of this is due to our aging population, which boosts the demand for the kind of medical assistance provided by home health aides and the next occupation on our list. Employment in 2010: 1,017,700 workers Projected Employment in 2020: 1,723,900 workers Increase: 69.4% 3rd Fastest-Growing Job: Biomedical Engineers A 2009 BLS estimate projected that biomedical engineers would be the fastest-growing industry between 2008 and 2018, and while their rank may have slipped in the most recent report, those in this industry continue to have very bright career prospects. Biomedical engineers are responsible for developing everything from artificial organs to MRIs, and in the future the demand for them to come up with new and better treatments for the sick and elderly will only continue to increase. Unlike other professions on this list, biomedical engineers are generally required to have at least a college or graduate-level education, but their median salary in 2010 was also more than $80,000, so there's certainly a big payoff. Employment in 2010: 15,700 workers Projected Employment in 2020: 25,400 workers Increase: 61.7% 4th Fastest-Growing Job: Brickmasons, Blockmasons, Stonemasons, Tile & Marble Setters These professionals are expected to see the biggest percentage increase of any occupation in the rapidly expanding construction industry, at least in part because it's a smaller sector to begin with, making the gains more notable. These positions typically have lower skill requirements than most and a relatively low median wage of $27,780. Employment in 2010: 29,400 workers Projected Employment in 2020: 47,000 workers Increase: 60.1% 5th Fastest-Growing Job: Carpenters Several factors are expected to increase the demand for carpenters, including the need to build more roads and bridges and to make homes and buildings more energy efficient, not to mention the fact that older carpenters will continue to retire. There's no single educational route one should follow to be a carpenter; some do apprenticeships and on-the-job training while others attend vocational schools. Likewise, salaries for carpenters can vary significantly by industry and region, but the median wage in 2010 was $25,760. Employment in 2010: 46,500 workers Projected Employment in 2020: 72,400 workers Increase: 60.1% 6th Fastest-Growing Job: Veterinary Technologists & Technicians Americans love their pets and according to the BLS, they are increasingly willing to spend on medical care for them. That should lead to a job boom in the veterinary industry as the demand for qualified pet care continues to increase. Just how much education you need in this profession depends on the position you want. Veterinary technicians follow a two-year training program, whereas technologists pursue a four-year training program. The median salary for these workers was just shy of $30,000 in 2010. Employment in 2010: 80,200 workers Projected Employment in 2020: 121,900 workers Increase: 52% 7th Fastest-Growing Job: Reinforcing Iron & Rebar Workers These workers are responsible for reinforcing concrete in building projects. It may not sound like glamorous work, but it will be in high demand in the coming decade as the country embarks on infrastructure improvements. Most workers in this profession need a high school diploma and a three- to four-year apprenticeship. The median salary in 2010 was a modest $38,430. Employment in 2010: 19,100 workers Projected Employment in 2020: 28,400 workers Increase: 48.6% 8th Fastest-Growing Job: Physical Therapist Assistants The BLS attributes the increase in physical therapist assistants to changes in reimbursement policies for physical therapy, combined with the fact that population is getting older and will need more care. Physical therapist assistants typically need a two-year associate's degree and most states require them to be licensed. Still, that's much less than is required of others in the medical profession and the median salary is about $50,000, better than most on this list. It's almost too good to be true: A rapidly expanding industry with limited education requirements and a good salary. Unfortunately, as the BLS notes, that means there will be plenty of competition for these positions in the years to come. Employment in 2010: 67,400 workers Projected Employment in 2020: 98,200 workers Increase: 45.7% 9th Fastest-Growing Job: Pipelayers, Plumbers, Pipefitters & Steamfitters The construction industry is expected to see one of the biggest hiring increases this decade, adding roughly 1.8 million jobs by 2020. According to the BLS, much of this is due to the simple fact that employment levels hit rock bottom during the recession and really have nowhere to go but up. For pipelayers, plumbers, pipefitters and steamfitters, that means there will be more than 26,000 new jobs. These workers earned a median salary of $26,740 in 2010. Employment in 2010: 57,900 workers Projected Employment in 2020: 84,200 workers Increase: 45.4% 10th Fastest-Growing Job: Meeting, Convention & Event Planners This decade should be a good one for event planners: The Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts that demand for this occupation will grow significantly in part because there are more events and meetings in a stronger economy than a weaker one, and also because companies are becoming more globalized and need organized events to bring their employees and clients together in person. Having a college degree can make a person more competitive in this industry, but it's not required. These professionals earned a median salary of $45,260 in 2010. Employment in 2010: 71,600 workers Projected Employment in 2020: 102,900 workers Increase: 43.7% More From MainStreet.com: 10 Companies With Toughest Interview Questions How to Survive Weird Interview Questions 6 Questions to Ask in a Job Interview |

What was the reason they state for your denial? Go on and throw more light on how you applied, so that others can advice you accordingly. |
combatmedic:Bros or Sist, I beg een, choose your PhD Scholarship in the Australia Uni and move to Australia. If you still not sure, then Pray. |
davidylan:Thanks David, inquiring for the younger generation whose aspiration is to school in the US in the various courses that I listed up there. I will get the information across to them. What about the others, do you have an idea of the % of their chances to gain admission to any good school in the US to study the courses listed? |
Sagewood:@Sagewood , Thank you for the good piece of information you gave out on here. I just want to find out for someone who is aspiring to study Medicine, like how many years she is going to spend till her finals if studying in the States? And another cousin of mine who wants to pursue a career in either Health-care / medical sciences. Pharmacy or Nursing, the duration of the courses over there in the States? Your candid advise is awaited. Thank you |
Gbenge 77:@Gbenge77, thanks for expatiating more on this. I have pass the information across, but He already has a fiancee there shall, so hopefully that would help. Thanks for your time again. |
Gbenge 77:@Gbenge77 thanks for your urgent reply, but they told me it was a B1/B2 Visa, and what do you mean by the INS asking the right Questions? You can drop me your email if it's not comfortable for you to write more about this on the forum here. Thanks Sir |
Gbenge77, Thank you for your positive contributions to other ppls posting on here. I want to ask you a question regarding settling down in the States, How can a person who enters the US with visiting visa have a residence or work permit? If you understand what I mean. Thanks, as I await your kind response. |
Please just apply with the current passport you have with you, don't go and apply for another one until this expires completely. All you have to do is explain to the interviewer, just a thought. |
On behalf of the FRON, I wish you all on travel section a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Please do share your experience here on how Nairaland Travel Section as been of great help to you and no help at all to you. It would be interesting to hear from all our brothers and sisters again. Enjoy your Hols with smile. |
Mr.VicJustice. Congratulations from Nigeria and on behalf of the Good People Of Nigeria. We love you and God love's you more. PS: Bros, you handsome shall and your wifey is da bomb. One luv |
ronkebp:Be Reasonable old Nairalander ronkebp. @poster. Please update this Thread when our Baby and the most beautiful girl in Nigeria finally comes down to have a glorious life on earth with us. Takia |
paniki:Try and Advice the White Folks who are oppressing you and your Corson, Suthu and the rest of una people. Take your silly advice out of this place. I met a lot of South Africans on SAA while returning back to 9ja coming here to work, and I asked the Colored woman sitting almost next to me, if she got papers, but she laughed and never responded like she got 1. Una know our Home Affairs? Why do you think he will end in Crime? Is it only Nigerians that are doing the Crime there? Or na we bring HIV come SA? Don't ever try to address a Nigerian like you superior to anyone of them, cause you are a Slave in SA. Look at this Location Resident. Hissssss |
tEsLim:My Brother, you have been on Nairaland for some time now, you should have known that some big names (SADIST) never help anyone with travel information to better their lives or keep them informed, but rather claim to combat scam and 419ers. A true hero, is one who help and look at for others, selfless in his/her services and don't engage in eye services. To answer your question: Brazil is a lovely country, I have only been to Brazil once for Holidays, and I can tell you that there are Nigerians there doing all sort of hustling, I didn't inquire much about how life is there. But if you want to go to Brazil to hustle, and your mind is there. Then go. You will only find out what to do when you get there. I tell you, don't let anyone discourage you. Make some research on cheap accommodation in the safe Areas or the areas you mention from google.com or find someone who is there to give you some information. I know that there are lots of Opportunity everywhere else outside Nigeria and some other corrupt Nations like Zimbabwe and more. Reason because, less corruption and the govts there have the passion to serve her citizen selflessly. Oh boy, go hustle ooh, nor join bad gang or any bad runs there ooh. Later things |
FAST-LINK:@FAST-LINK -- how much does it cost to get a date? Can't you do it free for them? I thought you advice them never to give Money to anybody? And you want small thing (money) from them? |
@parisienne , I would be flying into Lagos on the 24th of October 2011, what sizes of cloths, shoes, socks can I buy for your Baby when I am coming back from South Africa? Let me know, you a proud mother and God will bless you because of your humility in your post. My number here is +27789765451. Also send me a text of the list of other things you don't have, is not a problem, I would buy the one's important for ya, if it's OK with ya. Cheers and Congratulations. |
Dis Guy:Broda Dis Guy, talk to your Mod colleague justwise to stop spoiling the business of traveling agents. It's always a traveling agent I pay to arrange most of my documents I need to submit at the embassy, like flight, hotel reservation and all that. And to stop deleting my post on nairaland, or otherwise, show me the way to remove my account jeje. Thanks |
jidewin:Bros, I sent you my phone number to your mail also. Cheers |
malabu22: |
AjanleKoko:Bros, I applaud you for this good advice, thank you Sir. Such brilliant Nairalander's with positive view should be fixed up as Moderators, not some useless fools with 12,000 post and nothing good from them. Thank you once again jor. @Poster, you have heard it all, no further comment needed, except it's necessarily, go with this advice, you can use Google to do some findings about each embassy and their student visa procedures. Cheers |
justwise:@justwise , You must be a wizard. I am very sure of it. I feel sorry for people that listen to your negative advice on nairaland. You act like you know all, with all your internet finding advice. I am giving the guy an information I got first hand on ground here, you busy insulting your mother and your father who failed to raise you up with good manners. The question is, have you told Nairalander's what you do for a living? You are always online talking rubbish. You spent 12,000 plus post insulting other users, now people are fleeing this travel section and always seeing it as a Joke, all because of you. I have travel round the globe, I am not rich, I am blessed. What will be my gain if I mislead the boy. It's simple, i advised him to go down the office straight off once he gets there as he sounded like he don't have money. My Brother is now working as a Fork Lift Operator with a Salary mouth full salary here in SA. I have visited S.A again for the third time now, and have been here since 9days now, just on tour. You talk trash all the time, your goal you have achieved, which is being a Moderator on Just Travel section, is it not enough for you to keep your mouth shut and your fingers paralyzed. I won't bother replying you jor, they should just change this travel section to Joke section. Rubbish, you wan do hot body as if you are more active to Dis Guy, who is more matured in handling stuff on here. Poor suffer head Nigerian in UK. Go find your play mate jor |
@Omo oso, If you don get S.A Visa, na to find cheap Ticket buy. This is the way to go about it. Book your ticket to Johannesburg, you will get a cheap hotel there, within the range of 5 - 7 thousand naira for the J'bourg city. Then buy their news paper that comes out every Thursday, you would see first hand legit news paper that comes with different apartment advertisement for rent, for sell. You must ask around, and always behave well. RSA is a good place once you are calmed and determined. Then once you arrive, you enter hotel there and you pay for like 4days, then you go fit enter the ground know what's up for you there. Many Nigerians are buying up many houses and businesses in Johannesburg and Capetown and even Pretoria now. Nor let wetin happen to you at Crystal Service weigh you down, what if he true before, u come get plane crash? God knows best for you. About Work Permit: All work permit can be done at the office of Home Affairs in Pretoria when you reach there. You just need to say one or two things, or use an agent to do am, but originally, I know that the price is between R500 rands. Which is about 10,000 naira 9ja money. But some long throat agent go charge you up to R7,000 rands, about 140K 9ja, so once you fit enter South Africa, go Pretoria yourself, which is about 40mins drive from Jbourg, there are public Taxis that would take you there for about 50rands or so. Or you take a cab straight, for about 300 - 350rands. Walk into the office, dem go do am for you. Nigerians in RSA get better chance for Home Affairs in RSA in getting a work permit here. Job's are here once you are serious to work, after you have your permit. You can open up a Babrbing salon, and they barb one hair, 800naira, you fit dey barb up to 10hairs or less a day, you can just be creative and make money here. 9ja rule this place here, the crimes committed mainly in RSA is not committed by Nigerians mainly, but Zimbabwe and other countries close to RSA men. Crime rate in Jo'bourg has gone down very much. I have given you first hand confirmed information, and others who wish to enter RSA can use it too. Destiny na by choice, nor be by Church. He good make person be a Lion for one day, than a sheep, all his live. OK see ya later |
Dyt:Don't you ever post anything meaningful? You are so Jobless. Nonsense girl @Poster , That's how God works, perhaps Obama might have been dispose off ) who knows? Remember when Herod heard about the Savior, he killed nearly all the kids born then just to get rid of our Lord and Savior. So God knows how to preserve His own. |
Great thread, keep this advise coming, I did learn something from this thread ![]() |
Good Thread, but no comment from all the dons on NL. ![]() |
@Vicjustice , My brother, everything dey for God hand. Nor be by power nor might. Many people with every correct details, are sometimes refused in their application by some embassy. While others with some missing documents are issued sometimes, just like that. So wetin ou wan call that one? na by power? If na Muslim self, make he still pray to God. I just gave him the best advice I can give to him, as I have seen someone one almost the same situation before. OK night, still enjoying Capetown . |
jamesoo1:James001, HOTEL Booking can be done by any Traveling Agency, if you live in Benin, then visit Aregin Travel Agency at Airport Road, near the Benin Airport, ask there. It cost about 6,000naira for Hotel Reservation and Flight Reservation, confirmed one. If you live in Lagos, find a good agency who has worked for someone before in Lagos and do it there. Just relax, nor be thing of stress, nor be my document you submit, Na God's Grace and favor. A lot of people attribute success to their own hard-work or intelligence, failing to understand that, every good thing comes from the Lord. For the insurance, a list of insurance company is on the VFS FRANCE Website, just download and call them on their phone numbers there or visit their office, their prices varies. 1month I did last with AIG or so, was about #16,000 naira for one month insurance cover of the 30,000 euro. So get that one, fill your form neatly, pray as you dey fill am, and then, get all the rest requirement. He nor hard ooh, nor kill yourself, you go get am, so far your mind nor dey for drug cocaine pushing and stealing abroad. But for hardword, then you good to go. Gbam, Good luck |
iamcapela:@iamcapela , My Brother, I feel your pain and I understand the challenge on ground at the moment. But know this, that the constant thing in life is changes, and what brought about changes, is challenges. Don't run away from trouble, stand it, face it, solve and move greater. Vicjustice and the rest of the users here has said lot's of positive thing, if there is anyone who has not done any sort of dodgy deal before, let them be the first to cast a stone on you. Sure, there is no one who has not sinned in the past. What I will advice you is to apply directly again with your New E-passport. Don't go and look for any lawyer, it would be a waste of fund. Just get all the Requirements for your student visa and a well to do sponsors account, your genuine document and then go on and apply. Wait for the decision after 2weeks or I think 2months now, you will get your Visa one time. You have done wrong before, and God knows. It's only God that has the power to forgive sin and to turn a dirty heart to a new heart. From your post on here, without being a Pastor, I can feel your remorsefulness, and this is all God needs to see in a man to help him, once he confess his sin to him. Get all your document ready, go down your knee's, ask for God's favor. And you are through. The past has no life, Satan is tormenting you with it, now that you have repented of that sin, apply afresh again. Never remembered you once behaved or applied a certain way that was no right in the sight of God and man. Take care and wish you success. |
coogar:@coogar , From the way you talk, you sounded always like a kid. You talk as if you are not a Nigerian or something. Don't come here to a Forum like this, full of intellectual Nigerians to start writing trash. You have insulted Nigerians in general, especially the youth more than once in your post on this thread. You talk like you have a surname where you live, who knows you? How much do you have? What kind of life are you living wherever you are? Everyone have access to the internet, so I am not surprised at you. Stupid thing |
