ceaser: I have all my LFPs at 12.1v low voltage cut-off now o. I just reduced a set from initial 12.3v to 12.1v. I still hope to get an impressive performance cum duration of use from it sha. How much capacity do you have left after 12.5v below? I don't think it will be up to 10%, what system are you using that allow you set cut-off above 12v? |

olatade: Men in the house. I'm planning on upgrading from lead acid to lithium so i need expert review on this battery.
Is it a good buy ? Will i regret on the long run?
Can a hybrid luminous inverter charge it effectively?
thanks for your anticipated response Someone gave a review of this felicity LFP and it didn't sound interesting.... So I will advice you don't expect too much from it. You can't charge an LFP effectively with that inverter, you need something with adjustable voltage |

futurenix: Hello house of solar
I have a 12V 105AH Pb acid (VR) battery whose spec sheet indicates the
1. Charging Method for cycle use as:
Control voltage: 14.4V to 14.9V Initial current: 42.0A or smaller
2. Cut off voltage:
Cut off voltage/Discharge current: 10.5V/5.25A-21.0A 10.2V/21.0A-52.5A 9.9V/52.5A-105A 9.3V/105A-210A These values make it seem it's safe to run down to it and nothing will happen except cycle life but ...
I have a 24V hybrid inverter whose maximum low DC cut off voltage is 24V.
My inquiries with its appreciated response are
What voltage is recommended for: Bulk charge, float charge, equalization voltage.
What is the specified time for equalization of Pb acid battery and how long in between equalization (in days)
As per the low DC cut off voltage, 50% DoD is about 24.12V while 30% is 24.6V (from charts I have seen online and here) but the inverter has just 24V.
Is there a digital device I can install in between the inverter and battery to disconnect supply to inverter at my set DoD.
Also on LFP batteries, between the cylindrical and prismatic type, which is more preferable Let's just say it's one of the disadvantages we get for not going premium, I guess we should just leave with that I set mine to the 24v cut-off but I endeavour not to get to that level in the first place because mine is LFP, I think with lead acid you should be fine with 24v. On the LFP question, both are fine though I prefer the prismatic as I get to work with fewer cells but it's a matter of preference not performance |

earthrealm: Oh, its 12amp current?.didnt see it.. If so..then its still wrong..12a isnt optimal for 200ah batts
Then again price diff btw the 2 cable sizes isnt upto 400naira per yard, why scrimp on cable? Cable more than 16mm are not readily available and not that cheap, also if 8mm is already sufficient won't scaling to 10mm or even 16mm be optimal enough? Why spend more when it's not necessary? |

I was using electronic timers, but I have replaced them all with esp based switches. Makes my home easy to manage. I will be interested in doing this as well, as I have been relying on timer sockets for some of my appliances. If you don't mind, can you explain how to get just one appliance set-up for such management? I am more interested in the electrical part; how it interface with your home circuit and the software part. |

earthrealm: 8mm cable is too small... 16mm shud be the minimum. I recommend 25mm . 2ndly whats the size if your inverter, any idea of the charging current? For a 48v system with 12A current I don't think the bolded is necessary, 8mm will indeed be fine but he can push to 10mm or 16mm if there is budget. |

Just helpe explain small abeg. What he meant is that while they are all connected and under load, take your multimeter and start checking voltage of each cell(positive and negative of each cells) you should find some culprits |

mank1234: Lovely dashboard. Thanks to emoncms mank1234: I'm falling in love with your GK now as it can combine solar with utility to power load and charge the battery coupled with lower self consumption compared to MK.
It's high solar voltage, batteryless operation, lower self consumption VS parallel ability, zero transfer operation. Yup, but I think the lower voltage, parallel feature and higher combined battery charge rate is still a selling point for MK for those who have need for those |

ojeysky: My people, I need good panels with minimum of 33vmp and that has a maximum dimension of 1650 by 992. I know the 305 Canadian fits but that's beyond my budget, any suggestion of another good one that fits? The picture is the reason I need a higher vmp panel. I am limited to 9 panels max for now and have need to maximise things. GK is a voltage guzzler, I get late wake up and early sleep, it's the only flaw I detest in the inverter. On a positive note, it's good to be back on GK seeing high instantaneous hervest again; got 8.1A peak today, from a panel rated 8.3A. My LFP was smiling with a 59A peak today (limited by BMS)

chris81964: 120 amp AC charger. I am off the grid so I have not tried the combo. The manufacturer has and idle consumption of 50W on the spec sheet. On my battery monitor it is much less. I have done follow up videos. That sounds so cool, my GK idle consumption is <35w on spec as well but it's 15w in practice. You've got a beast system there Bro. |

ojeysky: Yes o.... But that limitation go soon disappear once I put my GK back online MPP GK back online with a few redress, 3 things I noticed straight up. 1. MPPT efficiency is way better than the felicity I was using temporarily. Now it's just less than 2A difference between charge current reading from MPP and BMV as against 5A on felicity. 2. MPP also seem to support more battery option on 3kva GK such as the pylontech. 3. Fan noise is way more silent, it feels like there is an improvement with the new board

bbally: please house, I need some lecture/ insight on how to connect an Hybrid inverter or inverter with built-in charger to a separate pwm/mppt cc connected to solar and batteries without causing issues or fault to either the inverter or the cc.
will the current from the cc backflow to the inverter board and vis visa? is it advisable to set the cc at 14v pv off to give preference to grid charging? is there anything like charging overload? You just need to connect the CC directly to the battery, not to the hybrid inverter |
