Family / Re: My Sister Has Been Finding It Difficult To Forgive Our Aunt. by okpanachil: 6:57pm On Aug 16
This is very sad to hear.
But there is nothing normal about what is going on in your family.

Think about it for a second, you do not know what transpired between your mum and your Aunt that made your Aunt decide not to relate with your mum anymore, she died with that burden your Aunt refused to forgive her,now your sister is repeating the same cycle i.e your Aunt is begging her to let go but your sister is finding it difficult to.
If this continues, she probably would die in that state and the next generation would pick it up and continue, at some point the origin of the whole issue would have been lost but the enmity would continue into successive generations while the devil would sit on one corner laughing and watching the seed of hate he planted growing and blooming in your family.

Show this post to your sister and tell her it's time to break that cycle.

If you re a Christian, pray for her for the ability to forgive,in fact whether or not you re,pray for her to be able to forgive an she would come around.
You guys do everything to ensure this is not passed to the next generation if not.... The devil is working overtime on scattering tour family.

keep deceiving yourself, labour has lost the goodwill with their behaviour during the car sharing episode in the legislature, Edo people expected Edo labour party representatives in the legislature to reject the over-expensive cars but they were the ones defending it, this made Edo people to realize that labour isn't different from APC and PDP embarassed

While you have a point on the position of the law makers regarding the SUVs,I just wonder who made you spokesperson of Edo people?
Family / Re: How Did You Prevent Your Parents' Toxic Marriage From Affecting Yours? by okpanachil: 1:47pm On Nov 05, 2023
casualobserver:

It sounds good in theory but if you did not experience a stable home with two parents, you have no reference point to build one yourself. Whatever we learn at home in our formative years is what we carry into the world. It is extremely hard to change dysfunction that has been built into one’s DNA.

We all have habits that we struggle with whose origins can be traced to our youth and upbringing. So for anyone to think you can just overcome family dysfunction is nothing but pure fantasy. It can be done but it takes constant consciousness and vigilance…most will not succeed. Very often those raised in dysfunction are not even aware of the dysfunction. Sometimes you want to over come but can’t because you have no reference point or experience of what it takes. This is why the cycle tends to continue.

A man is brought up in a home by a single mother he has no father reference figure. He has not seen what it takes for a man to have peace at home because he has not experienced the dynamics of 2 parents at close quarters. He starts a family and feels it is everything he has to comment on and does not have the knowledge that for peace you have to learn to see and not see because he has not seen his father have to do these things. A woman is brought up by a single mother, as the breadwinner the mother is naturally masculine and aggressive because she has to perform the masculine roles of a missing father, the daughter has never experienced a scenario where the mother is submissive to anyone or has trust in a man, she has never seen the dynamics of a man and a woman in a stable and peaceful home. How is she supposed to unlearn what she has been nurtured in her formative years and trust and depend on and be a partner to a husband? Children from broken homes are more likely to have broken homes themselves because painful as the experience may have been and determined as they may be to avoid it themselves…. You can’t give what you don’t have! especially these days that marriages are fragile. It is possible but the vast majority will repeat the cycle.

This right here is wisdom.

My dear you are no casual observer, you are a deep observer!

But for God's Grace and intention to stay married against all odds the cycle will always continue.

Yes please. When I saw the line up - 5 4 1, I said these ones came to defend, not to win or score goals. They were lucky to have scored at 9 seconds. That gingered their swagger and for long minutes Arsenal actually let them think they can win the match. Thank God for supersub Nelson.

This is nice, seeing a lady that knows so much about football.....even discussing formations.

Keep it up.

I hope your hubby is also a football enthusiast?

Politics / Re: Senate To CBN: Extend Deadline For The Exchange Of Old Naira Notes Till July 31 by okpanachil: 1:31pm On Jan 25, 2023
victooman:
the withdrawal limit per account is 500k a week the money in circulation is not even upto 20k per person,,, let them kukuma eradicate the paper money and focus on e-transactions instead of this deceit

Now think about it, assuming but not conceding what you just said, does everybody need 20k cash in their wallet per time? The cash transactions for which you re reserving the 20k can they not be done via e-channels.

I know there are bottle necks around it, but they are not insurmountable.

No serious economy manages / handles cash the way Nigerians do.

I stand with the Senate on these, all those saying they are doing it for their own interests don't know wot they are saying.Imagine the deadline is 31 of January and so many people hv already stopped taking d old notes as of yesterday. So many big shops hv stopped taking it,u cnt use it in d airport again cos those selling their have stopped taking it.The new notes are scares. So tell me why won't d deadline be extended when CBN and banks keep playing d blame game on d detriment of d poor Masse's.Or u think if a serving senator wants d new note he cnt get as much as he needs in a corrupt country like ours. Its high time we leave all these political bullshits and call a spade a spade.

Oga, it is intentional that the new note is scarce. The objective is to compel people to embrace e-channels .

At least this money would have been 50-60% in circulation by now..I can bet my balls that not everyone on this forum has seen the new notes undecided

My dear do not for a moment think that this new naira notes will be in circulation like the old ones.

CBN is trying to achieve two major objectives with this initiative, change the naira notes (while mopping up the excess money hidden in bunkers) and encourage e channels to prevent us returning to status ante after this exercise

You will see what will happen in the coming days.

This question should be directed at you. I remember how you were jumping from thread to thread late 2014 to early 2015 only to start singing discordant tunes (casting aspersions) much later in the life of the current administration.

You have started again this election season. You will lead people astray and when the deed has been done you will come with regrets. If not for selfish reasons and the emilokan/awalokan syndrome, how can anyone support Tinubu over Peter Obi?

Pathetic is just putting it nicely.

Peter Obi needs to stay put and remain strong. Even if he doesn't win in 2023, he needs to keep building Labour Party because the next president will definitely misbehave, making Peter Obi the favourite to win in 2027.

However, I am not totally ruling out his victory in 2023 because this country needs to be rescued from our aged oppressors.

If we don't get it right in 2023 ,there will be nothing left to salvage in 2027. Let all men and women, boys and girls who mean well for this country do the right thing.
Vote right and forget all the sentiments that have held us down I'm times past else na ebay them go auction that country.

Nope, I think the message they were sending was to Shettima personally. I doubt this happened with any other speaker apart from Shettima. I also think this has a lot to do with that leaked recording of a phone call between Shettima and Amosun where Shettima so much denigrated the Igbos.

Kwankwaso knows he cannot win, he knows that he is the weakest of the big 4,he also knows he can no longer be VP to Obi which was his best option originally as that ship has sailed.

He is hoping if he pulls enough votes from the North,he will be able to force a run-off that would see him strike a deal with Obi, that's what he is angling for.

This is because Nigerians now know that the two chuckle brothers are the same and Now desire a fresh start, and no sane mind would want to identify with either or both of them.

Kwankwaso should have taken the deal when he was offered.

I asked what redline does Christians have concerning Jesus... have you answered? ... or decided to jumped to conclusions? You guys denigrate..... you all claim .... your ilk will want.... in what group have you placed me? Guys like you have caused innocent people to be lynched.
I said she should not have been killed ... after reading that why would you even think I'm justifying their actions? Again... we should learn to respect the belief of others.

You see why I said you are no different, what have I said in my earlier post that would suggest anyone been killed. That you think what I said is enough to make someone want to kill another......You claim you didn't want her to be killed but you avail like minds of excuses/reasons to.

Go back and read my earlier post again, this time slowly, and maybe you will get my implied meaning on red lines.

Tolerance,forgiveness,justice are forerunners of peace.

It's this same mentality that caused her death. This guy is saying there are certain red lines that must not be crossed. It doesn't make sense to you ... therefore it must not make sense to them. Go to Sokoto and right to free speech and cross the red line. What redline does Christians have concerning Jesus?
Not saying that the girl should've been killed... but we need to respect....respect....respect the belief of others.

What makes you think Christians do not have red lines and who made this lines red?

So the saying that Jesus Christ is not the son of God but rather a Prophet is not red enough for you but the article that Muhammed would have taken a model for a wife is so red that your ilk would want to spill the blood of the writer.

If you are justifying their actions then you are no different from the guys who carried out this heinous crime.

About red lines again, you guys denigrate and mock the person of St. Paul everyday. You all claim Jesus Christ is not God yet no one attacks you anywhere in this country.Since that is not red enough, how about I tell you hypothetically that Muhammed was/is not a Prophet, I am sure your blood will boil over. But Christianity advocates Peace, forgiveness and bringing people like you to the light. I mean why would I want to follow someone who will encourage vengeance over one who preaches forgiveness.
