perambulator: The problem of Nigeria is this:
I am state A, I have numerous untapped resources in my state but I have no power over it, any investor that wants to mine goes to the Federal govt to license, when he makes money, the mining and corporate taxes go to the federal govt, so i have little incentive to welcome such large scale miners to my state, so usually all the grnd schemes by the fed gov fail because there is no buy-in at the state level because there is little incentive.
I am state B, I have plenty of farm land, A large agric company needs 10,000 ha for mechanised farming. As the governor i have no incentive to give him the land because 1) mechanised farming does not employ many people, 2) the company profits are taxed by the federal govt. So if i give land for mechanised farming does serve any purpose for my state, I would rather give 10,000 poor people 1 hectare each to farm, at least I go a little way to provide employment. The problem with this is that we produce uncompetitive agric products both on the local market and for export. So we keep talking about agric especially at the federal level but nothing ever really comes of it.
I am state C: Somebody is causing problems in my state, I cannot do anything because I have no control over the police. it reduces my ability to attract investors if i have no real control over security in my state.
I can go on and on. these are constitutional problems.
Osinbajo, Emmanuel, Obi, Tinubu and all the other names you mention cannot solve these problems and if they cannot, nothing changes!!!
instead of Nigerians looking to personalities, look for issues. IMHO the issue facing Nigeria today is the constitution.
Only an enlightened, intelligent and visionary Northerner with stature can change our constitution. Thats why I said El-Rufai because I know he knows that Nigeria needs to change the constitution. Bottom line is any president that has no intention of changing the constitution or hasnt got the stature to do it is just a waste of time. it doesnt have to be Elrufai it could be anyone else. Every thing you said is true but for your choice of El-rufai. He is a very cunny man and cannot be trusted. PMB came in shouting restructuring and corruption, look the support he got nut when he came in his language changed. El rufai is the Pro max version of Buhari and what is more dangerous,he is more intelligent and woke which is a dangerous mix with deception and been cunny. What has been his contribution/position on the farmers/herders clashes, until recently, what was his position on banditry? El rufai would never drive a constitutional review at least not in the way the south desires it. |

Kdon2: That's called politics. And that is why the country is where and how it is. I think the question many of us should ask ourselves is this, if Nigeria were a company and we were shareholders and stakeholders, would we recommend any of these people were are rooting for to take up the job of the CEO of that company. The answer is obvious I think But because we dont feel the same about the Nigerian project we seek personal/ethnic interests over capacity, capabillty and competence. 2023 is decision time else Nigeria goes the way of Zimbabwe. |

mapet: Peter Obi is not rated, over rated and cannot deliver votes beyond SE. Even at that, his SE stronghold is not strong any more You see, this is the problem. How does the rating come about,is it not via acceptability and how does acceptability come,is it not by assessment of capability based on previous performances and records,or would you rather rally round and support another thief and nepotistic dictator just because the thief is popular? In other words you will support an incompetent but popular candidate all because of his popularity. |

abbey621: In this life everything na 50% planning 50% blessing. I no date my wife for up to 6 months before I decided to marry her. Brought her to the USA and aside from the normal arguments between couples, no wahala whatsoever, it's been over 5 years now. The greatest advice here is to ask yourself, who does the woman fear or respect? Look at her upbringing, her religious inclination, her views on life and family.
It's quite simple, any woman can mess up for any reason, it is a combination of hormones and nature, the key here is what exactly pulls her back to normalcy? Her parents? God? Love for her kids? Love for her husband? If her motivation is money, clout, fame etc, sooner or later the little love that she has for you would poof and disappear, she would find every reason to leave or destroy you from 30 seconds man to woman beater. Abroad no be 9ja where gra gra works, over here you must operate in stealth mode, never ever put all your eggs in one basket. Even tho you love your wife with all your heart, always have savings/assets set aside for the worst case scenario.....May God help us all! You see this your post especially that your first paragraph up there ba,flesh and blood did not reveal it to you. You see all this I love you,I love you been professed,it does not cut it in marriage. If you ask me the most important pre-requisite for marriage,it is not love (even though it is important to be mutually attracted to each other) it is how understanding your to be spouse is, his/her upbringing;if its a woman how does her mum relate with the father and if a man vice versa, who does she fear and respect and of course love of God. Trust me all of these will come to bear on your marital journey. |

MikelIbe: We3fffThe way i see people calling Peter Obi a fraud and a liar goes a long way to show how myopic we are and how Nigeria deserve any ill fate that befalls her.
He owns these businesses, his children aren't even directors, he grew the businesses from scratch before politics, he didn't misappropriate public funds, he grew the economy of his state, he cleared his state debt, he reduced wasteful expenses, turned a loss making state into making profit, built infrastructure the state has never seen before, has a very sound and detailed plan on transforming Nigeria.
Now ill meaning people who have been paid by ill meaning politicians are trying to spoil his image by all means. You see how deep they dug, yet can't lay a claim of money laundering or corruption.. And see y'all fish brained ill meaning people shouting and calling him a fraud.
Mission accomplished.. Instill tribalism on insecure brainwashed Nigerians and they'll fall.
Nigeria will never get Peter Obi or any other well meaning politician if we get easily swayed by the evil ones. The evil ones know how to make noise which is all we wanna hear, then we cry wolf when they mess up and stay mute in office. God bless you for this statement. You re a wise man |

FreeStuffsNG: You want subsidy on Gas too, shebi? Same you city dwellers enjoying subsidy on petrol and electricity while those folks living in the villages continue to pick the bills as funds meant for their roads and cottage clinics and industries is being used to fund subsidy lifestyles for us in the cities and towns. Sir, if you are truly in the gas business, you should know what gas is doing now even globally since the hurricane ida occurred in the US and locked 90% of the supply from that axis affected by ida.
You guys should please learn more about your industry, it's not the job of Buhari to ask you to READ or to subsidise gas for you at a time even industries in Europe are reducing production because of high gas and oil prices.
Take a break from nairaland and get real perspective of factors affecting your industry and understand it very well enough to be regarded an expert there . It's no brainer that except things change, gas and crude oil price may even increase more and Oman is already predicting that it will reach $200 per barrel because of bad weather and return of most industrial productions after covid-19. Brent was on $75.10 the last time I checked this morning. It has nothing to do with PMB, your usual scapegoat for everything. It is funny how we always change the narrative to suit our intentions. If the PRICE of crude oil drops, it is argued that is the cause of rise in exchange rate as we do not export enough hence the drop in the value of Naira and when the crude crude oil price rises the argument is, that is why crude oil products and gas have increased in PRICE. Head or Tail the Nigerian People lose. |

He and his goons stole our National wealth. This man is suppose to be locked up in Kirikiri for good. Oga don't assassinate a mans character because of politics. He is not like other politicians, everything a about him stands out, tested and trusted(at least those who are truthful will testify of his stellar performance at Anambra as Governor) Amongst this crop of our politicians,he is the only one I can call a Leader. His kids committed incest, one brother killed the other, and the killer still got himself killed in the long run, but that was after he had taken his own father's concubine and lashed her before the eyes of Israel. That is, David lashed Uriah's wife in private, but his own son Absalom lashed his father's concubines on the rooftop in the open public.
All these happened despite David having the God's grace. Do you have a Davidian grace upon your life?

They are the ones who should be sacrificed to their village idols as a peace offering, not Buhari. No Dear, the first time was the mistake, people like him you don't give them any chance at all, you sniff out every chance they might get because all they need is the first chance. Question 3, do you have a love child somewhere else? Final question, have you had course to be away from her through distance or you neglected her needs due to work stress? Answer truthfully. Which one of these points qualifies or gives her the license to cheat. If a man is been physically violent towards you, why don't you do the needful and treat the issue like an enlightened person would. My blood particularly recoiled at your last point, so the reward for a dutiful husband who is out there breaking his back to make some loot for the family is infidelity. I hate how women many times want all the good things of life and yet don't want to make the sacrifice that comes with it. |

Crying is a natural and healthy response to emotional anguish. Let go of your toxic masculinity. This man here cries and is very secure in his masculinity. If any woman is offended by it, she's the one with the problem, not the crying man who's in pain and having a natural response to emotional pain.
Of course, what's going on is painful and no I didn't beg. I pointed out the reality of what she's choosing and how foolish it is. phabulous88: You need a good internet. I used my phone’s hotspot. Airtel
On Chrome Settings, I allowed popup for ‘iqas.labour.alberta.ca’. I also allowed Automatic download.
1. Before the system gets busy (say around 3:30pm), log onto your IQAS account and click through your application page s until you get to the Payment page. This is the page that normally say ‘IQAS daily limit has been reached’. Copy the Webpage link of your Payment page. It’s usually something like this: https://iqas.labour.alberta.ca/imm-paymentmethod/............................... and save on MS Word. This weblink is unique to your application, you can't use the one for someone else
2. The way IQAS has programmed their website is such that at exactly 8:00am (Mountain Time), that’s 4:00pm Nigerian time, their website refreshes and logs out everyone
3. So at 4:00pm, log onto your IQAS account and it will take you to your Home page
4. Next, open multiple Tabs and paste your payment Webpage link ( the https://iqas.labour.alberta.ca/imm-paymentmethod/............................... ). This takes you directly to your payment page and saves you the time that you would have spent navigating through your application pages to the Payment page
5. On the Payment page you will see ‘Preview application’ and ‘Submit’. Now because it’s not yet 4:15pm, you will most likely see ‘IQAS daily limit has been reached for today’ after a few seconds
6. Just refresh the page and you will see the ‘Preview application’ and ‘Submit’ link again
7. Keep doing this on all the Tabs until it's 4:11pm
8. From 4:11pm, when you refresh the page and see the ‘Preview application’, click on it and then immediately click on ‘Submit’. Now because I allowed Automatic download in my Chrome settings, the moment I click on ‘Preview application’, it starts downloading and then I click on ‘Submit’. Saves me about 2 seconds
9. Repeat this on each of of the Tabs you’ve opened say after every 15-20 seconds, and one Tab at a time
10. For example in Tab 1, click Preview and then ‘Submit’ at 4:11:20s; in Tab 2, click at 4:11:40s; and in Tab 3 at 4:12:00s...
11. Hopefully, one of the Tabs will take you to the Payment gateway
12. One last thing, from 4:14pm, any tab that gives you the ‘IQAS daily limit has been reached for today’, just close the tab and focus on the other tabs.
All the best Great |
