No matter what people would say about this and link it to Buhari's government. I must remind Nigerians that under Obasanjo's PDP government a former number one police officer (Tafa Balogun) was handled in same manner by EFCC and in one occassion when he failed to promptly enter a waiting car, he was pushed and dragged into the car by mobile police men attached to EFCC and he hit his head on the car and was bleeding but yet he was forced into the car by same men he onced commanded. So there is nothing new under the sun. If Nyako did not go into hiding from Jonathan's government his treatment would have been worst. Methu played the sturbon one and as you know it, he would not be shown mercy by the law enforcement agencies even when the officer in charge is an Igbo man. Mbu Joseph Mbu was out there against governor Amaechi and the EFCC locked Tinubu in for days, where were the wailers then? What goes around comes around someday.

This man is a former COAS, Chief of Army Staff. By the contents of terms and conditions of service, he is entitled to a driver and an orderly who are serving military personnel. His residence is equally secured by serving military personnel . The choice not to be wear uniforms is dictated by the circumstances. No retired General of that status will leave his Military Orderly who has been with him for decades for an SSS officer, if there is anything like that. The person stooping is a serving soldier dutifully attending to his boss, a 3 star general. I challenge you to cross check these facts to avoid sensational reports. What is so extraordinary in a soldier officially attending to his boss, a general at that?

He should have been given honour for the most corrupt president . Under his watch, billions of Nigerian Naira went messing, there was too much fraud, corruption, looting and money laundering during his time. Imagine the billions meant to fight insurgency where deviated to their personal accounts, and the same fraud stars will come blackmailing innocent people for the tragedy they caused to Nigeria. The same GEJ sacked the former CBN governor for exposing their fraudulent behavior towards subsidy removal. No wonder " Stealing is not corruption" , Such were the words of the so-called educated man who were not able to save his country from bankruptcy. The same people you expect to go free while putting your eyes on people less corrupted.
Who would you catch first, the thief that took all your family treasure or the thief that took only your treasure? GEJ and his companions looted Nigerian economy, while they accused Amechi and others for laundering from their states. All we care now is to probe national fraud stars, before local ones.

Sir, You have left Nigeria in a mess that will take 20years to erase. When you were in U.S in November Last Year , you said no arms money was diverted, You claimed the new administration lied.. yet today, we have confessions from members of your party and other parties who have admitted collecting huge sums from NSA. You have refused to comment on this issue. You shared dollars and ruined our Naira, Sir. You awarded multi-billion Naira contracts to militants while you also admitted doing nothing for even your people in the Niger delta. Mr Former President, You ruined Nigeria..... You ruled when crude sold for over $.100 per barrel, you did nothing for Nigeria. The rail Projects are funded by Chinese loans.. Soldiers complained or lack of arms , you took them to prison instead. Have you heard the confession of your Chief of Defence Staff Rtd Air Chief Marshal Badeh..Sir the man said no arms were bought to fight bokoharam. Sir at the openning of your campaign in Lagos in 2014, You claimed that you couldnt tackle Bokoharam because arms were not bought in the 80s... Mr Ex President you did Nigeria great disservice. You are not an honest man. while Nigerians were roasted with bombs everyday, the money for arms was used for your re-election, God being kind to man.. You lost that election. That Bokoharam that took you a whooping 6years to tackle, has beein substantially degraded. We no longer see them killing 100s of Nigerians and bragging. Conscience will never allow you speak on National TV in the country again.[ I have written the truth, based on facts, I challenge you Sir to check these facts and if you never said the things herein you can sue me]. Now I wait to see insults flow from haters of truth and worshipers of money and man.

PoliticsEFCC To Falae, Odili, Ladoja: Refund Cash Or Face Trial by olatade(op): 8:23am On Jan 11, 2016
Commission retrieves Dasuki’s memos to Jonathan

Ex-MILAD refunds 60 per cent

All politicians who shared in the allegedly diverted $2.1billion arms cash must return what they got or face trial, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has said.

A former Military Administrator of Kaduna State, Gen. Lawal Jafaru Isa, has refunded 60 per cent of the money he allegedly collected from the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), The Nation learnt yesterday.

Also yesterday, it was gathered that  Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Publicity Secretary Chief Olisa Metuh had admitted the transfer of N400million into a company in which he has substantial interest.

According to sources, EFCC decided on refund of cash after retrieving some of the memoranda which the embattled former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd.), wrote to President Goodluck Jonathan to request for funds.

A top EFCC source said none of the memos seen so far indicated that the funds would be used for political purposes, party funding and the 2015 general election.

Based on the vetting of the memos and disbursement of money to PDP chieftains and other highly-placed Nigerians, the EFCC has drawn the battle line of either “you make a refund or face trial”.

Some of the beneficiaries of the cash include former governors Peter Odili (N100m);  Rashidi Ladoja(N100m), Attahiru Bafarawa(N100m), Mahmud Aliyu Shinkafi (N100m), and Jim Nwobodo(N500m).

Others are: Chief Tony Anenih(N260m); ex-PDP National Chairman Ahmadu Ali(N100m); Chief Bode George (N100m/ $30,000), Yerima Abdullahi (N100m); Chief Olu Falae (N100m); Tanko Yakassai (N63m); Gen. Bello Sarkin Yaki(N200m); Raymond Dokpesi, Iyorchia Ayu’s company(N345m); BAM Properties(N300m); Dalhatu Investment Limited(N1.5b); ex-PDP National Chairman Mohammed Bello Haliru, Abba Mohammed, Sagir Attahiru, serving and former members of the House of Representatives(over N600 million); former Chairman of the House of Representatives on Security and Intelligence, Bello Matawalle(N300m); ACACIA Holdings(N600m); Bashir Yuguda (N1,950,000) and many companies.

Based on the vetting, the EFCC is insisting that all those implicated so far must refund the “illegal disbursement” of cash to them or face trial.

A top EFCC source said: “We have conducted a thorough investigation and we have retrieved some of the memos sent to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan by the former National Security Adviser; none of them indicated that the cash should be for political purposes.

“There was never a memo for cash advance for political matters like campaign or election.

“We have also traced some of these funds directly to the accounts of these bigwigs or their proxy companies.

“Having gone far, we are asking them to return these funds or else, we will go after them any moment from now. I think they should respect themselves and make urgent refund.

“In the alternative, we will arrest them and arraign them in court to defend such strange allocations.

“We will retrieve every kobo given out from ONSA. It is insufficient to say somebody gave me this money. Once we trace undeserved public funds into your account or phony and proxy  companies, we will ask for refund.”

Regarding the interrogation of Gen. Isa, the source added: “He admitted collecting money from ONSA and he has refunded 60 per cent of the sum credited to him. I think it should be about N100 million.

“Isa is the only person who has so far refunded money among the political figures who collected funds from ONSA. We have granted him bail to allow him time to source for the balance.”

On the detention of the National Publicity Secretary of PDP, the source said: “So far, Metuh has admitted the transfer of N400 million by ONSA  into a company in which he has substantial interest.

“It is left to him to justify why he deserved such benefit from arms cash. We are still questioning him on other remittances into the company’s account. We are also demanding how he will refund the cash.

“Contrary to the noise outside, we did our homework very well. Anybody we bring to the EFCC this time around, we used to make sure that we have established a case against him.

“So, we don’t invite or arrest on frivolous basis. We do thorough investigation this time around.”

PoliticsSearch For Lai Mohammed’s Replacement Intensifies by olatade(op): 8:20pm On Jan 01, 2016
Barely two months after the former National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Lai Mohammed, vacated his position, search for his replacement has begun, Daily Trust gathered.
An impeccable source within the party, who preferred not to be mentioned, said already some influential party leaders and political groups in the party have started strategizing for their candidates to succeed Mohammed.
The out-spoken former publicity secretary was recently appointed Minister of Information, hence making his former office vacant.
Daily Trust gathered that so far, some influential politicians from the South-south, South-west and the North have started preparing their candidates for the seat.
Among the contenders for the vacant position are Mr. Joe Igbokwe, Mr. Tim Frank, Mr. Rotimi Fashakin and Alhaji Bashir Hayatu, alias Gentile.
Mr. Igbokwe is the publicity secretary of the APC in Lagos State and is said to be the choice for South-west politicians, among them former Lagos State governor and APC national leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. It was gathered that Tinubu and co plan to retain Mohammed’s seat.
Mr. Tim Frank is the current deputy national publicity secretary of the party. He has been a deputy to Lai Mohammed since June 2014 when the National Working Committee of the party was inaugurated.
According to a source within the party, Frank is said to be enjoying the support of some influential politicians from the South-south and the Senate President, Bukola Saraki.
However, Frank’s loyalty to Saraki, according to a party stalwart might be an obstacle to him in the race. He said: “With the challenges faced by Saraki, I don’t think Frank will emerge the next publicity secretary of the party.”
He also said that going by the current internal arrangements within the party in respect of positions, Frank will not succeed Muhammad without some adjustments.
However, for the Buhari Organisation, it is high time President consolidates the party by ensuring that his loyalist occupies the seat. In view of this, they prefer the former publicity secretary of President Buhari’s defunct party, Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), Mr. Rotimi Fashakin, to be the APC’s next spokesman.
Fashakin has a brighter chance of becoming the next APC spokesman for some reasons:
One: he has been together with President Buhari and some notable leaders of the APC for a very long time.
Two: he knows the job very well having held the position of publicity secretary of the defunct CPC for many years.
And three: he enjoys the support of the Buhari Organisation.
Next after Fashakin is another out-spoken politician from Kano State, Alhaji Bashir Hayatu, alias Gentile. Daily Trust gathered that, Gentile enjoys the support of two strong politicians and national leaders of the APC.
A source close to the two influential party leaders, among them a serving governor in the North-west, hinted Daily Trust that the politicians are preparing Gentile for the job.
“The two leaders wanted to encourage young politicians to take over the lot of politics in the country, hence preferring Gentile to replace the former national publicity chairman of the party,” said the source.
Like Fashakin, Gentile also knows the job of publicity having served as director of publicity of the defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) in Kano between 2007 and 2011 and director campaign of former Kano State deputy governor, Alhaji Abdullahi Tijjani Muhammad Gwarzo, when he contested for Kano governorship in 2011 under the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN).
However, Gentile, like other contenders, has some predicaments which political pundits believed might prevent him from emerging the next publicity secretary of the party.
Though in terms of paper qualification he is rated high by some political analysts, having obtained a master’s degree in political communication from the City University, London, he is seen by many as not a member of the APC and this could be a minus for him as far as the race is concerned.
Another obstacle associated with Gentile was his low participation in the activities of the party, an issue which some politicians predicted might have prevented him from succeeding Alhaji Lai Mohammed as APC national publicity.
But Alhaji Idi Bello Giginyu, a political associate of the contender, confirmed to Daily Trust that Gentile is a full member of the APC, having obtained the party’s membership card on February 2, 2014, a day after the commencement of the APC membership registration exercise.
According to him, the membership card with registration number KN/NAS/05029282 was obtained at Giginyu ward in Nassarawa Local Government Area of Kano State.
Giginyu said: “After all, having been an active member of the defunct ACN, Gentile becomes an automatic member of the APC since his party, ACN, was part of the three parties that formed the merger to form what is today called APC.”
