This guy looks intelligent . He should be using his useful age and intelligence to do something productive rather than fighting for a lost cause. |
They are not used to sanity so its strange to them, they still live in Hobbesian state of anarchy where human-beasts rule and obtain by violence. Where fool is fair and fair is fool, where wife of president not voted for wields power and flouts law, where there is official state thug who threaten to flatten geopolitical zones if his principal is not voted for. A state where fund meant for arms are shared and usher young soldiers to untimely death while the commanders buy choice properties with beastly and rapacious greed. Where every failure is blamed on opposition when they are in charge of army, police, navy and airforce. We shall never see such again. |

There is no DISCO in Kaduna? It is about 30 hours now, one cannot dance to his liking, everywhere is darkness and heat. There is no music from the DISCO master. The DJ is nowhere to be found, I learnt he lost his voice. Just paid N10,000 for a 300 wavelength of music While last month we waltzed through 480. Where is the DISCO master? Last night the DJ killed my life! This night? Hmmmmmmmmm |
I guess she's just a actress and not an economist. If she had voted for Jonathan perhaps she would have moved out of Nigeria by now. Where was she when Jonathan and his men were killing the economy? What miracle does she expect Buhari to perform? The President is giving the economy the best shot. |
the Nigerian police did well this time around...kudos to them |

Some people are born lucky. Even the presidential position of this country cannot transform His Royal Highness Mohammed Sanusi Lamido Sanusi into a pious Muslims Leader. No wonder , when he was the Governor of Central Bank, when asked about his political ambition, he replied that , he wanted nothing other than being the Emir of Kano. Allah fulfilled that long ambition to him. I was among the people that criticized the decision of Kano State Government, when it confirmed the position to him. In less than a week, he rubbished me and saw my self on my knees begging him through our Almighty Allah, to forgive my foolishness and ignorant of his leadership quality, for the first friday sermon he conducted both in Hausa and Arabic. Our Emirs are not traditional leaders but Islamic Religious leaders. Offering of prayers, sermons and preaching is part of their main functions. Look at now he is also leading prayers on a fellow Muslim deceased. Baba Mohammed Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, Allah Has favoured and blessed you beyond your imagination. The only way to show your appreciation to Him, is to forgive all your adversaries. Nobody in this world today and till eternity is worthy enough to be your enemy. The only problems you will be having is this petty jealousies. That's the only trials that you will be getting from your creator, until you return to him. Allah Ya kara maka imana da hakuri da mutane. Wish you long life, good health and more prosperity. |

Now that we've rescued Ese Oruru, it will be great if Punch, Vanguard, Guardian, The Nation, Premium Times, SaharaReporters, AIT, ChannelsTV, child rights activists, the police, Ogun state governor and all our human rights people could help locate the "Ese" who was slapped by Bishop David Oyedepo in the video munched here in 2011! To the best of my knowledge, this innocent underage girl (assaulted on tape by a highly revered Xtian Bishop) was never rescued, the IG of Police never intervened, the courts never helped her, in fact, we never knew what happened to this girl after she was slapped and publicly assaulted by Bishop Oyedepo! Please let's free this young lady too, let's locate her and reunite her with her unknown family. It was only four years ago! At least, let's make sure she is still alive!

The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu on Thursday revealed that the Federal Government will next week carry out a major overhaul of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC. Kachikwu made the disclosure at the Shell Production and Exploration Oloibiri Lecture Series held in Abuja. He said the Federal Government’s decision was in line with its aim of resolving the governance issues in the oil and gas sector as well as at the NNPC. He explained that the planned overhaul in the national oil firm had never happened at the corporation in the past 20 years. He said, “We are starting first with simple governance issues, those that are not contentious, that are very rapid and that deals a lot with the transformation of the national oil company. “For the national oil company, a lot of work is going on, I am sure some of you have seen the effects but within the next one week, we are going to be announcing some really major overhaul of the system, one that hasn’t been done in over 20 years. “The effect of that would be to quite frankly unbundle the huge company into four to five main operational zones; the upstream, downstream, midstream, refining and, of course, every other company that is trending to the venture group.” http://dailypost.ng/2016/03/03/breaking-fg-to-overhaul-nnpc-next-week-kachikwu/?utm_source=dlvr.it_dp1&utm_medium=facebook |

• Unions issue seven-day ultimatum over sacking of 400 workers The already poor power situation in the country may worsen going by a threat from the National Union of Electricity Employees, (NUEE), Senior Staff Association of Electricity and Allied Companies (SSAEAC), and Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) to shut down Egbin Power Station in Lagos and other electricity facilities across the country. The unions said the decision to shut down the plants was informed by the sacking of about 400 workers, including the Deputy President of NUEE by the management of the Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company, (IKEDC), on Friday among other issues. Already, the workers have issued a seven-day ultimatum, beginning from yesterday, to the management of IKEDC, to recall the affected workers unconditionally or “risk unprecedented industrial action.” Showing solidarity to its allies, NUPENG, in a statement signed by its President, Igwe Achese said it had already directed members at the Nigeria Gas Company, (NGC), “to commence a shutdown of gas supplies to the thermal stations and plants if the 400 workers are not called back to work at the expiration of the seven-day ultimatum.” Speaking with The Guardian on the development, General Secretary of NUEE, Joe Ajearo alleged that the decision by the management of IKEDC is part of its anti-union postures and victimisation of union members in favour of casualization. Explaining further, he said the company’s anti-labour posture cumulated into last Friday’s sack of about 400 union members, including, the Deputy President of NUEE, Christian Omemeh. Reacting to the allegations, the management of IKEDC through its Head, Corporate Communications, Ikeja Electric, Felix Ofulue, said, “The key objectives of the company is to create a high performing organization, which satisfies the needs of all of our stakeholders, especially our customers, as we reposition for growth. “In the last few months, the electricity distribution company has scaled up the metering programme in order to meet the expectations of our customers and further reduce the agitation on estimated billing. It has also achieved significant strides in human capital development, which is critical to the repositioning programme,” Ofulue added. Expressing shock over the sack, both NUEE and SSAEAC, in the seven-day ultimatum to the IKEDC, alleged that since the takeover of the company on November 1, 2013, the management has refused to put in place a mechanism to draw-up a credible condition of service that would enjoy joint authorship of labour and employer, for the benefit of both staff and management. http://www.ngrguardiannews.com/2016/03/blackout-looms-as-labour-threatens-to-shut-down-power-plants/ |

A former Presidential candidate of the defunct All Peoples Party, Chief Olu Falae, on Tuesday escaped death when one of the policemen escorting a bullion van opened fire on the vehicle conveying the politician. Our correspondent gathered that the incident happened at Ile Oluji Junction on the expressway while Falae was traveling to Ile-Ife for a visit of the Afenifere leaders with the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi. Sources at Ife palace told our correspondent that Falae who is the National Chairman of the Social Democratic Party, briefed some persons at Ile-Ife about the incident before the meeting with the Ooni. “I was coming from Akure approaching Ilesa. I saw some vehicles ahead of me. There was a bullion van in front, the vehicles ahead of us were overtaking the bullion van and we followed too. “I barely overtook them when I heard a shot and a bang on my car. We stopped and we saw that they had fired at our car. “They didn’t stop. We stopped at Erin-Ijesa and complained to the police at the check-point that we were fired at by some policemen attached to a bullion van at Ile-Oluji juction,” Falae was quoted to have said. Efforts to speak directly to Falae were unsuccessful as calls put to his telephone did not connect. However, a leader of the Afenifere in Osun State, Mr. Niyi Owolade, confirmed the shooting to our correspondent on the telephone. Owolade said he spoke to Falae directly and he told him that a policeman attached to a bullion ban shot at his car while coming to Ife. He said, “I just spoke to him and he confirmed it. He said his car was shot at by a bullion van’s escort. “Chief said he would take it up because such thing should not be allowed.” The personal assistant to Falae, Capt, Moshood Raji, also confirmed the incident to our correspondent in Akure on the telephone. http://www.punchng.com/bullion-vans-escort-shoots-at-falae/ |
A total 158 Nigerians are waiting to be executed over drugs related offences in China, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia, the Senate said on Tuesday. Moving a motion tagged: “Nigerians involvement in illicit global drugs trade and increase in domestic drug abuse by Nigerian youth”, Senator Gbenga B. Ashafa (APC, Lagos East) said 120 of persons are in China. He said 30 are in Malaysia, seven in Indonesia and one in Singapore and that six Nigerians were executed for drugs related offences last year. He noted that the Malaysian authorities have again issued a strong statement that 40 percent of the foreigners being arrested for drug offences are from Nigeria. Student disguise He observed that in their desperation, Nigerians are disguising as “university students”, colluding with drug syndicates to undermine the visa system and gain entrance into Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and other drug traffic routes. “On getting there, they abandon the education agenda and get busy with their illicit and illegal drug business activities; trading in opiates, cocaine, heroin, cannabis and amphetamines," he said. He said that the Federal Government has not swung into strategic action to curb the menace of drug couriers and their sponsors both in and out of Nigeria. He noted that the incidence of young Nigerians abusing substances including Codeine, Rochephenol, Tramadol, heroin, Cannabis Sativa (Indian Hemp) and even different grades of crack cocaine have become prevalent in across the country. Traffickers and couriers He said Nigeria topped the list of the countries involved in drug trafficking and drug use in West Africa’s and also the list of drug couriers arrested in Europe in 2011 and 2012. Contributing to the motion, Senator Jibrin Barau (APC, Kano North) said the rates at which housewives are abusing drugs are alarming. “We need to do something about, it has gone beyond youth and now it is very prevalent among married women. Women who are in charge of upbringing of children are now drugs addicts,” he said. The Senate however urged the Federal Government to restructure and reposition the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to be able to meet the challenges of evasive drug traffickers using nigerians to traffic drugs. http://www.dailytrust.com.ng/news/general/drug-trafficking-158-nigerians-on-death-row-in-china-malaysia/136038.html |
