Info: A bit is a single numeric value, either '1' or '0', that encodes a single unit of digital information. A byte is a sequence of 8 bits. Usually, data communication speed is measured in bits/kilobits/megabits per second, while storage space is measured in bytes/kilobytes/megabytes. In data communications, a Kilobit is one thousand bits. It is used to measure the amount of data transferred per second. Kilobits per second is shortened to kb/s, Kbps or kbps (as opposed to KBps, which is Kilobytes per second. Note the capitalization). The lowercase b is commonly used to denote bits, while the uppercase B is used for bytes. 1 kb/s = 1000 bits per second 1 KB/s = 1024 bytes per second |
Solutions: Increase generation capacity to about 10MW now and gradually increase by 5MW every other year. Cheapest technology suited to our environment is gas turbine. Others are coal and hydro Solar is too expensive. Wysiwyg:It is possible But you must know the frquency bands and the approx location of the wireless source You then need a high gain directional antenna and possibly an RF amplifier (booster) These are generally called WIFI Hotspot Range Booster antennas But they are not cheap Goodluck! |
On line scam is an American invention 419/AFF has its origin in Nigeria and obviously Nigerians are in the majority 419/AFF is a subset of scam In the aggregate, there are more American scammers than Nigerians Good thing is that Nigerians discuss and condemn scammers, not the holier than thou attitude of the Americans. Actually the western world started "scamming" Africa and Africans many centuries ago |
peeshine:I disagree with you. Not all Nigerians are corrupt. Not all would behave the way he did And I am sick and tired of us measuring corruption and punishment by scale or by comparison Lucky's time will come |
@koseepaaro send me your email. I will send it to you |
What has this got to do with us now? We are Nigerians! ![]() |
Folder Lock is fast file-security software that can password-protect, lock, hide, and encrypt any number of files, folders, drives, pictures, and documents in seconds. tai2:Some websites do not allow for anonymous login Also, you can only resolve IP addresses if they are dynamic I think Starcom IP address is static, you cant change it |
Reltel, Starcom or Multilinks are all the same They all operate similar voice-centric platforms When data subscribers on Reltel increase, they will experience the same problems being encountered by Starcom subs. Hopefully, better competitors will come on board, by 2008. I will stick to my Starcom EVDO, until then |
Wouldn't it be easier if you google searched "Study in Malaysia"? You don't have to be a space scientist to ![]() http://www.google.com.ng/search?hl=en&q=Study+In+Malaysia&meta= |
IBB is buck passing. The genesis of our problem started with him. |
There are no quick fixes It needs conscientious and altruistic planning good leadership and of course availability of Power |
I abhor corruption But we must not fight corruption with any hidden agenda, be it tribal, ethnic, religion, personal hatred or whatever When we fight this evil with open mind, without grudges or sensationalism then we are on the right path We should not rush to judgement from what an agrieved partner has alledged. When the going was good, did they complain?. Good for all us that the contract has been cancelled Please, please let us remove our personal biases from this evil We should be intelligent enough to analyse the corruption problems that confront us or else we will be part of the corruption cycle. |
stillwater:Mandela didnt do it by dying. He is still alive ![]() We can do it and still live |
Kobojunkie:The media is part of the problem. They worship mediocrity and glorify corruption. The media feeds fat from these corrupt people. One of the solutions is to start talking about corruption in our country, the way we are doing now. The process of minimising corruption is a long, tedious and frustrating one. But let us start now! |
EloSela: I am already part of the solution, by living in the system!I do believe in education too. And in my own little way, I have been able to contribute to my profession, by educating the young graduates, to do it right, professionally and ethically. It takes the efforts of all to make it work. No abradacabra solution to these problems, definitely not your extremist option. I abhor violence. I still believe we can make Nigeria work. I am convinced Nigeria is not a hopeless case. Or am I deluded? ![]() |
@EloSela Dont get me wrong. These things happen. I would be deluding myself if I thought otherwise. We meet these types of frustrations everyday here. Some of us are determined to stick with the system and possibly make a positive change On the other hand, I do not have any probs with "awol Nigerians" ![]() My believe is just that you can impact the system better if you live in the system. What are your own solutions to these problems? |
In 1961 as young man in lagos, a personnel manager took 10 pounds sterling from me, to get me a 3 pounds sterling a month job. 1n 2007 i ask a relative to help me sell a car in nigeria, months later he said arm robber stole it from him. I have no answer to our problem. God help us

What type of answer is this now? If by 1961 you were old enough to work, then you must be above 60 by now. And this is the type of answer you give? Pls stay where you are. The new Nigeria does not need this type of answer. If you were the best, there was no need to bribe anybody to get employed in 1961. |
Whatever they cannot dominate they integrate and give reasons! Thats their style. 5-10 years from now, they (the west) will be saying the same for China, India and hopefully Nigeria! |
Posted by: akacool "I have ever wounder if one can make money from surfing the net in Nigeria order than doing yahoo yahoo. I just discovered that my intelligent can fetch me money from internet at www.hitwev.com where I answered a set of 15 question and won 20,000. I encourage Nigeria youth to visit this site and be free from yahoo yahoo that is spoiling our name , from akachi 08060738434" This is the type of schemes that make our youths un-employable There are no free dinners my friend. And where are you getting the next 20,000 from? Get yourself something tangible to do Hardwork does not kill! |
EloSela:I was not being personal with my comments. I apologise if it sounded so. But my observation is the general trend. EloSela:Because you think some category of people should behave some way, when money/integrity is involved. No, it does not work that way, even with Nigerians. When you start treating people based on categorisation, then there is a probelm. , And back to the topic, whatever any one would say, I still believe, this is the best country in the world. We have our problems, so also other countries. These are problems that are solvable. Problems are not solved by running away from them! |
