The Delta state government has set aside N97.93M for the construction of toilets and hostel rehabilitation at the NYSC orientation camp at Issele-Uku! The Delta Government spends N97.93M on toilet! The Delta Government is to spend N250 million on the provision of toilets and water in some markets during the year, the Commissioner for Economic Planning, Mr Kenneth Okpara, said. Okpara made the plan known in Asaba on Thursday while giving a breakdown of the state’s 2013 budget. He also said that the government had set aside N97.93 million for the construction of toilets and rehabilitation of hostels and classrooms at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Orientation camp at Issele-Uku. He said that funds for the projects were part of the N4.80 billion allocated to sports and youth development by the government in the budget. According to him, N2.35 billion of the sub-sectoral allocation is provided for the development of sports facilities during the year. He said that the development of Warri and Asaba stadia would take N550 million and N350 million of the budget respectively. Okpara also said that the development of Sapele stadium would cost N200 million, while the construction of a mini stadium at Koko would cost N400 million. He said N155.4 million had been earmarked for the construction of five new youth development centres at Ugborodo, Koko, Agbor, Agogboro and Ogbe-Ijoh during the year, while the maintenance of nine existing centres would cost N30.77 million. The commissioner said the government would build a residential accommodation for ex-lepers at Eku at the cost of N22.50 million and provide equipment worth N50.50 million in six skill acquisition centres across the state. “To address the issue of delinquency among our children and the problem of destitute that roam our streets, this administration will continue to provide facilities at the Children Remand Home in Warri and Sapele,” Okpara said. The Gombe State House of Assembly member, Jalo Ganga, who was kidnapped on Sunday, has been released. Mr. Ganga was released on Wednesday night by his captors, and was reunited with his family at about 10.30 p.m. Speaking to newsmen in the house of the lawmaker on Thursday, the legislator’s younger brother, Abdulkadir Mohammed-Yelwa, said Mr. Ganga arrived home on a motorcycle at about 10 p.m. on Wednesday. He said that members of his family, friends and relations were happy to receive the legislator, adding that God had answered their prayers. “We are very happy seeing our brother. He has returned and met with his family; but right now he is not home. “He came back and told people not to worry that he had arrived safely. May be later in the day or tomorrow, you will see him and talk with him. We thank everybody who helped us in prayers,’’ he said. Mr. Mohammed-Yelwa said that his brother went to The Government House shortly after he met with his family. The Gombe State Police Public Relations Officer, Fwaje Atajiri, said the lawmaker was released unconditionally. Mr. Ganga was kidnapped at about 5.00 a.m. on Sunday while returning from his morning prayers by unknown gunmen who came on a motorcycle. He was immediately forced into a waiting vehicle and taken to an unknown destination. Kidnapping has been on the increase in many parts of Nigeria with victims released mostly after the demands of the captors are met secretly. Only in very few cases are the victims released through the efforts of law enforcement agencies. Source- www.informationnaija.com/kidnapped-gombe-lawmaker-released/

Nigerian gunmen have attacked and razed the Song divisional police station and local government secretariat in Adamawa state. It was the fourth such attack within a week by armed men against government symbols in the state. Last week, gunmen attacked Maiha, also in the state, on 28 December, burnt down a police station and freed prisoners. They also attacked Fufore and Hong Local governments. The latest attack bore a striking similarity in the targets of the marauders. A resident of the town said the attack occurred in the early hours of Thursday. “The police station and part of the one-story secretariat building were burnt by the gunmen, who also attacked a security check-point on the Song-Yola road,’’ he said. The source said that an old woman and a boy were hit by stray bullets in their home near the police station. “Dada Audu, an 80-year-old woman with her grandson of about 15 years were hit by bullets and are feared dead,’’ he said. Contacted, the Adamawa police command Public Relations Officer, Mr Mohammed Ibrahim, confirmed the attack but gave no details. Ibrahim said he was heading to the location. Senegalese international Demba Ba has completed his move to Chelsea from Newcastle. The Blues agreed a fee with Newcastle for Ba after making an official bid on Wednesday. Ba has a release clause, understood to be £7.5m, which was triggered by the European champions. A statement on Newcastle’s website on Wednesday read: “Newcastle United can confirm that Chelsea Football Club has made an official offer for Demba Ba which has triggered the release clause in the player’s contract. The club has given the player permission to speak to Chelsea and therefore he will not be included in the squad for tonight’s (Wednesday’s) game against Everton.” As at 9pm on Wednesday, the London club had finalised the discussion on personal terms with the player. Preliminary discussions between representatives of the player and Chelsea had earlier broken up with the deal on the table nowhere near the Senegal international’s expectations. Ba’s representatives indicated that the striker did not expect to end up in west London come the end of the January transfer window following the failed talks. Manager Rafael Benitez said on Wednesday, “You can always improve things, especially when you have Injuries, and we lose two players to the Africa Cup of Nations. Obviously we need bodies but I am really pleased with the squad.” While the initial fee of £7.5m for a player with Ba’s track record, including 13 league goals this season, appears a bargain, the true cost of the deal could be much more. The Independent revealed that the total could be closer to £30m once agent fees of £5m and a four-year deal worth £80,000 a week are factored in. The Federal Government on Wednesday said that no fewer than 10 million cell phones would be distributed to farmers to boost agricultural production in the country. Mrs Ibukun Odusote, the Permanent Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, said this at a sensitisation programme for farmers at Igan-Ipabi. In Ijebu-East Local Government Area of Ogun. She said the distribution of the cell phones was one of the steps being taken by the ministry to ensure food security in Nigeria. Odusote said that the Ministry of Information Technology and other relevant stakeholders had been contacted to collaborate toward effective distribution of the phones. “As part of the electronic-wallet which we are promoting, the handsets will be the toll with which we will communicate to farmers in the rural areas. ”Deep into the interiors, we will be able to communicate with them. “ We are actually working with the Ministry of Communication Technology, so they are talking to the network providers. “They will extend their networks into rural areas where normally they will say there is no economic viability . “The Federal Government will be putting some support into this, they will go into the hinterlands and expand their network so that we can have access,” Odusote explained. She said appropriate measures had been taken to commence the distribution exercise before the end of the first quarter. Odusote also said that the beneficiaries would receive direct alert for the collection of fertiliser as well as information on farming seasons, prices of products and scarcity period. She added that farmers would get 50 per cent subsidy on fertiliser as well as other necessary assistance from government. Though Odusote did not specify the exact amount to be expended on the project, she stated that the phones would be bought directly from the manufacturing company. She added that some of the manufacturing companies had also expressed readiness to partner with the ministry and invest in the sector. Odusote also said farmers would be provided with solar- powered lamps for charging the phones, adding that the initiative was to achieve a complete value change in the sector. She said graduates searching for white collar jobs should tap into the opportunity, noting that this would bring about overall development in the sector. The Regional Director in the ministry, Mr OlalekanQuadri, said measures were being put in place to ensure farmers engage in mechanised farming. Rev. Daniel Mbaya of Ekklisiyar Yan’uwa ‘A’ Church of The Brethren in Nigeria, Utako, Abuja on Sunday said that 50 of their churches had been burnt and 109 members killed in the Northern part of the country by the Islamist sect, Boko Haram. Mbaya made this known yesterday in his sermon during the last Sunday of the year service of the church, which was attended by President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and other prominent Nigerians. Speaking on the topic, “Working with God,” the preacher while reading from the book of Genesis 5: 22-24 called on the need for Nigerians especially its leaders to work with God in truth and righteousness just like Enoch; the father of Methuselah. He said, “Our church which, is predominantly in the North-East is worst hit by the Boko Haram insurgence. About 50 of our churches have been burnt and 109 of our members killed in the North by Boko Haram.” The cleric said Jonathan’s visit to the church would restore the lost confidence of its members nationwide, noting that his visit shows that Nigeria was “blessed with a caring, loving and concerned leader”, In his speech, Jonathan assured that the Boko Haram sect would not succeed in 2013, noting that the strategic security plans put in place were already yielding positive results. “Boko Haram will not push us backwards. If their plan is to stop government from providing dividends of democracy, they would not succeed, because 2013 will be a good year for Nigerians and Nigeria.” Jonathan revealed that the sect had the intention of attacking churches on Christmas day, but the plans were truncated by the security agencies. His words, “The Boko Haram planned to carry out a lot of attacks on Christmas day, but we suppressed their plans during the Christmas, because the extent of their plans was not executed as a result of the strategies by the security agencies. While commending members of the church for maintaining peace and order, in spite of Boko Haram’s attacks on their branches, the president promised that 2013 would be a good year for Nigerians. Thks guys |
1. Be willing to initiate sex. Men equate sex with desirability. Help your man to feel desired by expressing your love in a physical way 2. Be open to experimentation. . It can be easy to get comfortable and fear of the unknown can stop you from being open to different sexual experiences. Allow your man to try new things with you. If you won’t, there will be someone else who will. I’m not saying to engage in sexual activity you find repulsive but allow yourself to experience new things with the man you love. 3. Don’t over-accomodate. Sometimes in a relationship, a woman can become too accommodating. Men get into relationships with a very clear picture of what a lifetime partner looks like and this is often in stark contrast to whom he may have dated casually. Women work to become the person their partner wants them to be and in doing so, they lose themselves. One day, their man realizes this is what he asked for but he isn’t sure it’s what he really wants. Maintain a healthy sense of self in your relationship. 4. Don’t become too controlling.. Often without realizing it, when we get into relationships we attempt to control the other person to do what works best for us. We engage in destructive relationship habits such as complaining, blaming, criticizing, nagging, threatening, punishing and bribing or rewarding to control. 5. Make sure he knows how much you appreciate him.Sometimes when women “get” the guy and get married, they begin to get a false sense of security. Remember, all relationships are voluntary. A person can leave at any time. With an over 50% divorce rate in this country, we need to remember how important it is to maintain a positive relationship, not simply to acquire one. 6. Let him have time to himself. Some men cheat because they begin to feel hemmed in by the relationship. Engaging in an affair can provide them the sense of freedom they lose in a relationship. Allow your man time for himself without you. Don’t try to monopolize all your guy’s time. Be open to time apart for him to spend with friends, pursue hobbies, etc. so he does not feel he has no freedom. 7. Be aware of your emotions. Whether or not we are aware of it, women are masters at using their emotions to communicate volumes without speaking any words. We communicate anger, rage, sadness and disappointment that is received by our partners. Instead of taking that as a cue to do something different, some men begin to look for another partner who idolizes them the way you used to. Don’t forget, your man wants to know he lights you up not that he is constantly disappointing you. 8. Prioritize your relationship. Often, when a man cheats, you will find the woman is also having an “affair” that’s not sexual. It’s more socially appropriate. This “affair” takes the form of prioritizing something, anything, over the relationship. This could be a job, children, a sick relative, a charity or anything that puts her man lower on her totem pole than the first position. Prioritize your relationship over everything else. This is the relationship you want to last for all your life. Other things will fade away and the relationship will still be there if you tend to it carefully. 9. Learn his love language. If you are not familiar with Dr. Gary Chapman’s The Five Love Languages, please read it. It has the potential to save more marriages than marriage counseling has. Learn your man’s love language and speak it to him regularly. He will know he is loved and remain true to you. 10. Find his relationship pattern. I do not know how to combat the biology argument. Some men simply believe it is hard wired into their genes to have sexual relations with as many women as they can. If this is your man, it probably won’t matter what you do. Try to recognize these men early on by asking about their dating history. If this is a pattern with your man, he probably isn’t likely to change just because you love him best. Your best defense against this problem is to be discriminating at the onset. If you have read this article and wonder, what about him? What does he need to do? I wanted to write an article for women. I encounter more women in pain over their mate’s infidelity than I do men. This is for you. source-http://www.informationnaija.com/10-ways-to-keep-your-man-from-cheating/ |
Five Nigerians Emerge As Richest Pastors In Africa - Forbes Africans view the wealth of men of God from different perspectives. While some think there’s nothing bad living a good life filled with abundant wealth, others believe men of God are just supposed have enough, and that their calling doesn’t require luxury spending. Whichever way you choose to look at this, everyone has a right to their opinion. Here are the five pastors Forbes think are the richest in Africa. 1. Bishop David Oyedepo Affiliation: Living Faith World Outreach Ministry, aka Winners Chapel Estimated net worth: $150 million David Oyedepo is Nigeria’s wealthiest preacher. Ever since he founded the Living Faith World Outreach Ministry in 1981, it has grown to become one of Africa’s largest congregations. The Faith Tabernacle, where he hosts three services every Sunday, is Africa’s largest worship center, with a seating capacity of 50,000. Oyedepo owns four private jets and homes in London and the United States. He also owns Dominion Publishing House, a thriving publishing company that publishes all his books (which are often centered on prosperity). He founded and owns Covenant University, one of Nigeria’s leading tertiary institutions, and Faith Academy, an elite high school. 2. Chris Oyakhilome Church: Believers’ Loveworld Ministries, a.k.a Christ Embassy Estimated net worth: $30 million – $50 million Last year, the charismatic preacher was at the center of a $35 million money laundering case in which he was accused of siphoning funds from his church to foreign banks. Pastor Chris pleaded no wrongdoing and the case was eventually dismissed. His church, Christ Embassy, boasts more than 40,000 members, several of whom are successful business executives and politicians. Oyakhilome’s diversified interests include newspapers, magazines, a local television station, a record label, satellite TV, hotels and extensive real estate. His Loveworld TV Network is the first Christian network to broadcast from Africa to the rest of the world on a 24 hour basis. 3. Temitope Joshua Church: Synagogue Church Of All Nations (SCOAN) Estimated net worth: $10 million – $15 million Nigeria’s most controversial clergyman is also one of its richest and most philanthropic. T.B Joshua heads the Synagogue Church of all Nations (SCOAN), a congregation he founded in 1987, which accommodates over 15,000 worshippers on Sundays. The Pastor has remained controversial for several years for his inexplicable powers to heal all sorts of incurable diseases, including HIV/ AIDS, cancer and paralysis. For miracle-craving worshippers, it’s the perfect seduction. The church currently has branches in Ghana, the United Kingdom, South Africa, and Greece. In the past three years, he has given over $20 million to causes in education, healthcare and rehabilitation programs for former Niger Delta militants. He owns Emmanuel TV, a Christian television network, and is close friends with Ghanaian President Atta Mills. 4. Matthew Ashimolowo Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC) Estimated net worth: $6 million – $10 million In 1992, Foursquare Gospel Church, a Nigerian church, sent Ashimolowo to open a satellite branch in London. But Pastor Matthew had other ideas and decided to set up his own church instead. Today, his Kingsway International Christian Center is reportedly the largest Pentecostal church in the United Kingdom. In 2009, the church posted profits of close to $10 million and assets worth $40 million. Ashimolowo earns an annual salary of $200,000, but his real wealth comes from varied business interests including his media company, Matthew Ashimolowo media, which churns out Christian literature and documentaries. Ashimolowo’s representatives did not respond to a request confirming his net worth and ownership of all these assets. 5. Chris Okotie Church: Household of God Church Net worth: $3 million -$10 million Pastor Okotie made his first success as a popular pop musician in the 80s. He found the light, embraced the bible and set up the Household of God Church, one of Nigeria’s most flamboyant congregations. His 5,000 member church consists predominantly of Nollywood celebrities, musicians, and society people. He contested and lost Nigerian presidential elections for the third time this year under the Fresh Party, a political party he founded and funds. An automobile lover, he owns a Mercedes S600, Hummer and Porsche among several others. source-http://www.informationnaija.com/five-nigerian-pastors-among-the-richest-in-africa/ |

The management of Ekiti State University EKSU, Ado- Ekiti have threatened to expel about 10,000 students who have not paid the mandatory reparation fee of N6, 500 and completed the screening exercise imposed on the students by the university on or before December 14th. The Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Oladipo Aina said this at a meeting held on Friday with principal officers of the institution. It would be recalled that EKSU was closed down on September 28 following the violent demonstration of student triggered by the news of the death of a final year student of the Accountancy Department, Abiola Yusuf, who was knocked down by a vehicle, which led to the destruction of some buildings , looting of the livestocks from the university farm and burning of about ten vehicles. The school authorities however reopened the institution on December 3rd with a strict condition on all its students to pay the reparation fee and undergo a screening exercise or lose their ‘studentship’ with the institution. A source who pleaded anonymity said, “The university has fixed December 14 , 2012 for all students to conclude the screening exercise. Any student who fails to meet up with the deadline may lose his or her studentship. “The screening exercise requires all students to submit a sworn affidavit of good conduct, letter of undertaking from their parents as well as receipts for payment of the reparation fee and evidence of payment of school fees, among other demands. “Some of the students have complied with this directive and some are still undergoing the process. But about one third of the student population have not turned up and the university authorities have agreed that any student who neglects this directive would no longer be regarded as a student of EKSU.” Confirming this development, the Deputy Registrar Information of EKSU, Mr. Olubunmi Ajibade assured that the authorities are firm on the ultimatum of the screening exercise, adding that there would be no going back on the strict condition. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ImmbxThnjc Three rescue dogs in New Zealand have been taught how to drive a car. Monty, Porter and Ginny have learned the skills to prove how intelligent dogs can be, in an attempt to encourage more potential owners to come forward. The drive for publicity by the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals saw the four-legged friends spend weeks getting to grips with four wheels. The dogs, a giant schnauzer, a whippet cross and a beardie cross can change gear, steer and brake. They sit in a driving position on their haunches responding to instructions called out from the dog behaviour experts. Animal trainer Mark Vette and his team began training the animals using a mock vehicle before introducing them to a real car - a Mini especially adapted for paws. He said: "We chain behaviours together ... in this case we've got 10 behaviours we're putting together. Then you put them into a sequence. It's a lot to do, and for the dog to actually start to get an idea of what actually is happening takes quite a long time. "So we'll start the car, get into position, brake on, gear in place, back onto the steering wheel, accelerator, take off and hoon (=drive fast) along the straight and then stop," said Mr Vette. However, the animal trainer says things did not always go smoothly when the dogs got into the real car. "A couple of days ago the car was going too fast, the trainer nearly got run over," he said. Now the animals can start a car, accelerate and steer they are scheduled to show off their skills on live TV in New Zealand next week. For the final test the dogs will also have to brake as they are driving along a narrow lane. Trainers are hoping they won't become too distracted driving past any lamp posts. http://uk.news.yahoo.com/rescue-dogs-taught-drive-car-015357820.html
