You get dat kain money, use shakara dey talk "I'm paying cash, I can't use insurance ooo, come still dey squat, your case na sorry... grin

Best of luck to all the new mommas n papis in the hux. ..hey #shola u just became my friendlier. ...hehehe

Hospitals presumably equipped for vbac includes:
Baylor medical centers
Texas Presbiterian hospitals
Methodist medical center etc.. Google for more

Vbac friendly obgyn around dallas area includes:
Yolanda - baylor
Charles Griffiths - presbiterian
Downey - methodist
Carlton - methodist.
Google for more and be quick to hola at them because the doc's don't take late patients especially if they ate vbac because there's a lot of parameters required to be considered to decide weda the woman is a gud vbac candidate or not.

Google vbac friendly doctors in Texas and a few names will pop up then go further by researching personally each of the doctor's of their experiences with vbac and patient review on that specific practice. .

My wife used methodist Richardson n Downey as obgyn.
He did pretty well and no drama.

U ll like to note that hospitals that are vbac friendly are usually large and have dedicated various med practices housed in the same complex such that d docs are practically available all thru the delivery n labour pls they are ready for any emergency.
Mostly the labor rooms (private) are equipped to go to emergency c section without moving the patient during delivery.

Gud luck on ur further endeavor. ..

bizzle6:
Thanks so much for touching that matter, can you help out with the name of hospital and dr your wife used for the VBAC.

Hmmmm....
I know I can be very insensitive to people who try to play #jah because they got something on you. .
Instead of me to tk #shi from a host so much to be treated like a toddler just because u feel you ate doing me a favour I will tell u str8 to please kip it (if not shove it sef) n I ll step out.
If not anything my sanity n dignity are paramount to me.
Bad as e bad intown n studio 6 dey week no cost more than $1k per month. ..I wee go there n manage rather than ur space managed combo wch is apparently being turned into ur Kingdom because I wan squat. ..

Like I said, I ll kip preaching no matter how ur host beg u, get an apartment rented on ur own no matter how budgeted it is it ll surelybe more comfy for u than the one bed that ll be #gifted u in a host's place.

My own sha ooh. .

modath:
It's easy to insist that you don't respond to naysayers but it hurts so so so bad when one goes with so much expectations of being treated decently & also reciprocating with respect & goodwill but find the case to be the reverse..

People always are quick to malign the hosted party without getting the true facts of the course of events which is so so unfair....

Let's be slow to judge without facts.

Can anyone imagine a grown adult being called from the room to come pick up a grain of rice that fell from one's plate or told having a CS does not preclude sweeping just a week later.?? sad

I never planned to do this ever,but just have to;

When my spouse's relatives started drama, nerfititiram & her angelic aunty were my boy & I's refuge... I started doing 3 days with them, 1 day with our relatives who suddenly became friendly when it was apparent I now had alternative & didn't have to endure..

What's so ironic is that they've sent us an errand, like they do while conveniently forgetting their actions .... angry

Can I get an e-round of applause for nerf & aunty, dem too much abeg.... smiley

I don't quote long posts but in this case I had to make an exception, sorry everyone.

Quick note. ..
On the VBAC case. ..
there's really no special (or different hospital/ obgyn) price as to normal/cs and vbac delivery.
Is just a matter of whether or not the hospital is equipped to handle likely emergencies that may arise during a vbac and further if the doctor is experienced at handling vbac cases.
My wife just had a second vbac with a 4kg+ youngie n the doctor and hospital charges were same as a normal delivery.

My advice is for your location just Google obgyn that encourages and performs vbac however from research only a handful does it and are successful at it.

Please a word of advice really research the doctor by reading vbac mums review of him/her because some of them will tell you they ll give u a vbac only for them to ve premeditated n offer u an emergency c-section few days to ur EDD wen dey know u got no where else to run to. ..

I noticed that during my research whilst looking for a vbac friendly obgyn. ..

2 cents for who cares to pick. . cool..
out for a bit again I'm seriously in need of a shutter-eye

Hmmm....
In view of the foregoing, oI'd say this is a more astute response to d case (ignoring the smoke screen).
Let's to highlight the later paragraph and move on ahead. ..
To every give there's a take, to a Ying there's a yang, plus - minus, yes - no. These makes the balance of life.
Noted and kind enough that the gud doc have credence to the complaints of the ma'am regardless of time n circumstance played out.
Let's just hope others tk a cue from this and realigned their acts to acknowledge that we naijas don't always like to raise hell in no man's land, we still very well know where the furnace controls are. ..

I hereby move for the case to be struck out n discussed no further given his apparent repentance.

Hi.
Pls proof read and rephrase. .
Don't know what u trying to say!

kosplateau:
Hell all, why wld a doc or hospital u activate medicare and some don't suggest or say don't say I told u so? Why do some prefer u pay up from ur home country and with d risks of not paying involved and still don't want u to use medicare? If u don't pay up...is the penalty not being able to have ur visa renewed only?

TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 2 by olokings(m): 11:02am On Sep 28, 2015
My thoughts exactly. ...
I was gonna ask that buh I rmbr we got some docs in the hux as such I hit d mute button not to sound too fwd. .
However diff ob / gyn with diff styles and policy of practice.
Madam has been subjected to 2 routine blood tests all within the 3rd trimester to make sure all's well.

Further to the above, didn't u tell them ur missy is a vbac candidate? most hospitals n docs outrightly don't do ur yo know. ..

Word for all: pls endeavour if you are a vbac candidate (even if it's a vbac^2) to tell ur ob/gyn so they can mk am informed decision. .. not all practice n hospital does this. Up here they need special consideration for that.
In dallas for example only a handful of docs (not more than 10 i think) does it n dey need a higher rated hospital plus d docs office a usually housed in the same complex s the clinic I think. ...

Sorry abt ur situation though, really try negotiating with them however I know there are some wch state in their quotes that bills subjected to market dispensation are not allowed for negotiation as they have already been discounted.
Happy ur baby n wifey ate n both okie that's the most important.

favoredgal:
Sorry bout your ordeal. Pls ask and insist on a discount and a flexible payment plan. Your discount can be more than 50% doesn't matter.
Also ensure you collect zero balance for the once you have paid on full so far that is for the mum and hospital. It will come in very handy

Big hug

P.s dint they test her for gbs in the third trimester? I remember I tested positive so they administered anti bacteria to me during labor to prevent the child from getting infected. It is well

Nope!... I don't have a clue.
I'm just saying since we most usually take PTA for our trips (given d thought that PTA taken is not for miscellaneous) lil purchases can be done with naija cards while large amount denting can be directed to cash or otherwise...
It's all about perspective though..

U see exactly what I am saying....?!
The charges you runaway from with naija banks exchange rate and surcharges u pay with amelican minimum balance n hidden surcharges as well.
These feefoo know how to rip u n kip u smiling at the same time ..lol...

shawlar:
Firstly, the cash/self payment package in the hospital doesn't necessarily mean paying in hard cash. I think its better termed upfront payment. U can also use ur card, swipe and use d debit option or count out the cash; Whichever way, as long as the hospital gets paid immediately.

I think most people open bank accts in order to avoid keeping or carrying around so much cash. Its also easier to use for online shopping et al - than 1 naija bank saying I can't spend more than $300 or so. My wife travelled with over 8k and I got her to open the BOA acct but when I hear say the minimum bal. na $1500, fear grip me... shocked shocked. plus if ur bal goes less than that in a month, u get charged around $7. They also opened a savings acct for her too. Anyways, I'm going to go into the bank on mon to talk to them cos my sis (who has had an acct for over 3yrs) doesn't abide by the min bal thingy and she doesn't get the monthly charge either

I'm not sure oh, but I don't know of any individual that funds their amelica acct by swift transfer from naija.. I'm sure the bank charges r ridiculous (as usual). Most peeps jst bring in d cash and deposit it

TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 2 by olokings(m): 6:14pm On Sep 25, 2015
Okie so this BOA thingy got me thinking.
1. How do u fund the account?.
Do u lodge in cash which I surmise you got from ur PTA (wch is ur case is $4k)... If u did, then haven't that defeated the point that u wanna do self (cash) payment.
2. Reviewing the bank charges and monthly charges, correct me if I'm wrong (because I got no clue on weda dis boa guys have got ATM surcharges) but comparing the resultant charges on the BOA card and the fact that you have grossly moved ur cash in hand into credit balance with the bank doesn't that have its own negating effect as it is.
3. If u are eventually going to fund it from ur own account by intl swift transfer I bliv u are gonna yet be paying the same bank charges wch u were running away from in the first.?!

The thought process goes on more than I care to type perhaps I need to be properly schooled in that regards.

At the end of the day, after careful consideration (to the best of my kpako sabi-ish) the best gamble is to buy PTA hard cash and use cards for important POS n online transactions wch u can't get away from.

My take though waiting to learn more...

Hahaha. .I never thought of it via that perspective. .hmm.....

As per the later I deliberately didn't say much buh I trust I tickled the thought process of allot.

Funny how the poster joined NL less than 2 hrs n the first, one and only post is the bomb.
Then I wanted to waka pass on the condition that the poster responded to the quote where someone requested for further details but he/she didn't.
That simply gave them off n affirmed my suspicion.

Yet I tried to downplay it by just dropping a pebble on the water rather than a full out tsunami wink.

I got no beef whatsoever buh my line of thought is its better the ladies (and dudes) take decisions with adequate info on the fine prints n not have to play R-Kelly "I wish" remix afterwards.
It's not a matter of good / bad, buh rather is just a master of sharing info to know whose the goose n who's d gander so that we know what's best for each if u get my gist. cool

How's yo precious doing. ..?
