ok. note it is PURE AC / DC. it can be plugged to light directly. they dont need ac adapter. it comes with remote and regulator. energy efficient and very low power consumption.

This is true for Felicity mppt, infact I did some pv series connection that totalled about 125v, still got the high voltage error.
So, 100v - 110v is the safest from my experience.

I need your advice.

It seems the PWM SCC is overcharging my batteries.

Whereas the PWM voltage shows 14.2v, but the inverter shows the batteries are at 15.3v. This triggers the Inverter over-voltage shutoff.
The PWM has setting for 3 battery types
BO1 is for flooded battery
BO2 is for Lithium battery
BO3 is for GEL battery.

Note that the inverter has not displayed the correct voltage.

Is there anything I can do while waiting for the arrival of the PowMr MPPT

Having tried the two, I am planning to DIY something that will be able to use SoC as well as wireless and remote capability. Nothing close to Tasmota but one that will need no servers (local or cloud) whatsoever and the wireless communications will be only between the battery SoC and the switching device. I am gathering the components presently.

Lol. +1 for tasmota on sonoff devices with nodered, especially the ones with the power monitoring which will allow automations based on your consumption / solar production for example. Not really one for voice commands via alexa / google assistant / siri etc...but i believe you can also add this via nodered or Home Assistant.
Interface via a telegram bot / the home assistant app through a private cloud and everything is vely vely hallright.

I integrated Google Assistant, and it works quite well even with voice command.
Also, you can set your desired kind of weather or temperature automation. It will Geo-locate the address of device and use available weather forecast to switch ON/OFF, depending on how you want it.

This first device (picture attached), is very fantastic and gets the basic job done, however, it has a limitation which is quite worrisome. When you program it to power on at a certain time and you leave home, weather can suddenly become cloudy or even rain for hours and your batteries will be depleted seriously (which you may not want) because of unavailability of sunlight.
This made me to think of a better alternative that gives one more control, preferably can be done remotely anywhere (I'm a fan of home automation). After an extensive search, I came across the second device (picture attached). This device gives my kind of desired control, all you need do is to sync it with a dedicated home router. It's called SMART PLUG and works with other home automation apps such as Alexa and Google Assistant. This is more preferable, you can get everything done on your phone, it has a programmable timer also, instant ON/OFF anywhere you are in the world. Someone may find this useful.

Interesting... And I'm glad you brought this up.

So in my situation, PHCN is N60 per KW and power is almost 24/7. Even if they take it, it's typically not for more than 2hrs a day. I have to be practising load shedding in my house, just so I can afford it by turning off power from 11/12am till 7pm in the evening. Even with being economical, I'm still using about 800 to 900KW a month which if you do the maths, it's costing over N50k per month

I'm in the middle of building a 5KW system with lithium batteries. and I've calculated the payback period to be 5 to 6years. So for those paying N30 per KW, your payback will be over double. BUt then, the major advantage is I will not have to be so power conscious anymore. Regulating consumption will be a lot easier since I've also made my house completely smart. So I can make "smart rules" to keep consumption optimal always so I would never have to rely on the grid. (Or at most Maybe 5k per month or something)

That's the plan anyway

One other scenario that I have found to make sense is an ESS or ESS like system for people with 24/7 PHCN supply (estates on IPP or priority service)

Basically you oversize your panels for daytime use and only use the minimum battery size possible. This way you run the house loads off PV during the day and keep battery capacity for self consumption and backup against grid failure.

I have a number of residences on this sort of scheme and all show good results on average 28kwh/d generated from 7kw of panels - at 60naira per kwh this works out to 1,680naira per day or 600k savings per annum from a system that cost under 2million for the solar related components.

Fair price I think...? I don't think importing panels is worth it though, i have not done my calculations on that well. You mentioned JA.. they good? What do you think about the suggestion someone made on buying cells to assemble. I am particular about the high quality of the entire setup that's why I am skeptical about that.

Well the roofing is not in my hands as it's a mini estate where we just buy. Attached is plan and 3D. The second one is mine. They are still at DPC and project should be ready to deliver by March/April next year so I'm trying to plan ahead. Is it possible to deduce how much Panels each tenant's roof can take from the attached plan/3D?
From a rough estimate each tenants roof apart from the far right apartment excluded should do ~ 11.88KWp /36 JA solar panels each but 40 Panels if others slack

The flat roof is perfect as the panels layout will allow for the sun to pass over them daily and seasonally

Your loads based on assumptions is roughly 8KW at peak

My plan is to use appliances that are as low energy consuming as possible and this will be factored in as we do any purchase.
So with all these, do you think a 15KWh - 20KWh LiFePO4 would go a long way?

And how much should I budget for?
