For Load my rough Guess will be
2-3 Interver AC(1.5hp)
2-3 TV
3 standing FANs
1 Water Heater
All lightings
1 Fridge
1 Freezer.

My plan is to use appliances that are as low energy consuming as possible and this will be factored in as we do any purchase.

So with all these, do you think a 15KWh - 20KWh LiFePO4 would go a long way? And how much should I budget for? I'd personally like to buy most of the things myself to save cost. I am already in talks with Felicity and BSLBATT. The former is cheaper but I'm concerned about quality as I'm getting divergent views.

The 20 panels is just a start, minimum to charge your batteries alone, considering your loads you will need. More panels. -300W + will be better

If you haven't roof your house yet kindly consider a flat roof this will be better for a solar install.

And plan ahead of time to get your plans scalable and flexible (since your loads, are not properly define yet)

The plan is not off grid. Phcn inclusive.
But I'm also looking at what I'll require to do off grid. If I'm importing myself from China and I can get let's say 10KWh x2 LiFePO4 (connected in parallel) with let's say 20 Panels. Do you think that can sustain an off grid system efficiently and provide 247 Power? Budget by the way is 2.5m - 3m.

I can't really say what load will be yet as we are not in the house yet but at least 3 inverter AC, refrigerator, all lightings, TV and other basic household things will be on it.
What do you guys think?

You can try BSLBATT or pylontech, they communicate with victron, growatt and a few other inverter. But pylontech is local so warranty is available locally if not cash restraint

Do your research that learn more in above.

Its best that the critical loads you want to power be used, and assuming you have taken care of your night loads to arrive at the storage

So Loads (watts) x day time usage and add all together

300 WATTS X 12 PIECES IS 3600WATTS, ASSUME 3HRS OF SUNLIGHT EVERYDAY, so you wud be getting approx 10kwh back from the panels.

the big question is your loads, kindly compute your loads , if your daily avg load is more than 8kwh, then you would be better off getting more panels...

is the setup offgrid?..no phcn charging??

Their battery is fairly good I guess, their stated energy capacity is falsely stated as proven by good members of the forum.

Since this is a custom fit, you might have to DIY Since it's just the Allen - just a thought

I don't think so. A normal setup with this his kind of requirement will require hundreds of batteries, but with this model, he can use two even low capacity batteries just to power the inverter that will give the main inverter its reference voltage.

True about the simple battery inverter,

But that will require a system of special inverters like victron, SMA to form a mini-grid that the inverters will then feed into to supply loads.

IMO I think it defeats the idea of the Op running away from battery all together.

Very nice submission. I wanted to reply earlier but I forgot the Grid tie name and I also could not see my diagram for referencing.

As for the bolded, one workaround is to use another simple battery inverter to play the role odnthe grid for synchronization.

1. How it works is that you are expected to have a steady power supply, then a Grid-tie inverter of say 20KWp or more is installed, the sun comes up and the inverter synchronise with the grid and supplies your loads, the higher your solar production is the lower the grid supplies you and the process is vice versa.
In short at the end of the day your utility bill will reduce.

But

Grid is not steady here, the closest option is an hybrid invester that can work without battery but because your load is high this method will fail without a small sized battery to it or a steady grid supply that will do as stated above.

if you can make your loads more efficient in bold, you can get a better run hour/back-up time

If you run your refrigeration during day hours, then you have a more backup time to run other things at night

I can share with you a form/doc to know your usage pattern which will stand as real-time reference to prevent a poorly designed solution for you

As par local suppliers ojesky gave a suggestion to this in one of his earlier post, about those who import and couple cells locally, you might want to engage them to get what best suits you as they might give you the freedom of testing ....

Or

You can buy several known brands locally available like Pylontech of different energy variant, BYD, BSLBATT, Dryness and others ... These you get what their spec sheet states.

If the switch is toggled off, and solar is present. It cuts the AC output but stays on with fans and LED display on

Or if grid is available too, it stays on to charge and bypass.

This much I know of.

IMO, why not buy from an authorized dealer and get a two year warranty instead of one year you get from jumia and also aftersale support.
