I wonder who started this documents certification story sef. I also saw it way back in this thread. There's no need to certify any documents you're applying with, especially school certificates. They are already certified with ur school stamps and signature on them. I didn't certify anything, I just applied right away.

1. Can I show a bank statements that was printed on September 23rd with a closing balance of 7milloin plus in it. And how many months bank statement do I need to show? I have a statement that dates from February-September.

For schools like NTNU that the application is done between Oct-Dec this year, Yes you can. For those that are early next year like UiS, I don't think so. Though it cost almost nothing to get a new account statement. Gtb charged me just N50 for a stamped statement of my account. For most schools, the account statement should not be more than three months old.

If you're applying to UiS alone, don't waste your money on IELTS, it adds nothing to your application I can assure you, provided you have at least a C in O'level. What counts here is a good GPA, good grades in your prerequisite courses and a good application.

I might not be able to get access to my sponsor's statement of account at the point of application.
However, I have gotten a letter of confirmation from him although the letter is not printed on a letter head paper, would that be a problem.

It has to be Letter headed. Cos anyone can easily arrange a letter on his own claiming it's from his sponsor. So statement of account or letter with letter head. But to me, preferably statement of account.

I want to know if I'll need to get my sponsor's statement of account or just a letter of confirmation will do.

You can use both if you can get easily access to them.
For self-financing student, statement of account is compulsory. For sponsorship, if the sponsor can also give a statement of account, better.
My friend currently at NTNU used only letter of confirmation with letter head from his mother's company. But the mother had to explain why she didn't include the statement cos it's a company account I guess.
So just tell ur sponsor to give you both if possible.

Let me educate you.
You import refined products instead of refining locally. Even countries that buy our Oil like India, have tremendous refining capacity. So you need dollars to import petrol, but now the naira has very poor value against the dollar due to an oil based economy you have. Meaning, you have to pay more naira for every imported product into Nigeria including petrol.
So you see where all the past govts have left Nigeria hanging on high oil price alone!
Unluckily, low oil prices fell on Buhari, so he becomes the victim.
Now assuming previous govts improved the foreign exchange reserve like Indonesia, saved enough from oil boom like Norway, Nigeria would be better off, but that's not the case. You're lucky Nigeria hasn't gotten to the level of Venezuela yet. Google it to learn more.

Excess crude account arises as a combination of two factors, oil prices and oil production higher than budgeted benchmark. Benchmark was $38 and 2.2m bbls/day. Nigeria currently produces 1.5m bbls/day courtesy of NDA.
Secondly, the govt no longer spends money on subsidy as it's now purely in the hands of marketers. But govt only fixed the price not to exceed N145 based on the prevailing exchange rate of USD to naira as we import products which shouldn't be.
Thirdly, are you among those who close their eyes to good news of Fashola re mobilising contractors back to site on our major highways, or Amaechi completing ongoing rail projects?

Well, I can't guarantee you that. As I've learned, studying in Norway is a different ball game entirely, to get excellent grades demands much study and less fun, unlike what you'll find in the UK where almost every one graduates with distinction. Little wonder people "disappear" especially if they work while studying.
My lectures begin on Monday, which means less fun henceforth.

Well, it's been nice over here since I landed on the 8th Aug. Much calmer and organised kind of life compared to the chaos I lived with in lagos. The school system is on point, transportation on point, everything is made easy for you here but u must follow the rules and do away the usual Nigerian habit of cutting corners.
For the weather, it's kind of cold for summer, as low as 9-19'c in Stavanger. But you'll definitely adapt. 11'c with rain and high winds greeted me at Stavanger airport and it wasn't pleasant on my body even with Jacket. But after a few days, I go out with just t-shirt.
Things are very expensive here, at first you'll be converting to naira and screaming at the prices. But you'll get used to it over time.
As you know, the Oil industry is still asleep worldwide for now, so we can only hope prices pick up soon which in turn opens up the job Market.
USN still requires English testing, Either IELTS or TOEFL.

You should mail them instantly.
For me, it took a month for UDI to send my first email acknowledging receipt of my application, and 1wk to grant my visa. But when that of Kulex and Kenny was taking longer than mine, they had to contact udi as their flight date was getting really close.
As a result, their visas were granted in about 2days of sending the mail.
You should do same asap and possibly include your flight date stating it's very close and cost of rescheduling is too high.

How can we report banks to CBN for their terrible and ridiculous card rates.

These guys buy Dollars from CBN at 283-286 and you use your card outside Nigeria. banks want to cut your neck.

The cheapest card rate I know now is Standard chartered and Stanbic IBTC other banks charge as high as 320-340.

How can we report them to CBN to check this crazy charges.

Were you able to use your Standard Chartered card for foreign transactions recently? The last time I checked they suspended such transactions on June 1 due forex issues. Would love to know

I used gtb. They transferred in USD at N197.5/$. I hope you still find it at that amount with the new CBN policy today that has left the naira to float according to the market demands and supply, cos our Nigerian banks won't hesitate to immediately start selling forex at the new interbank rate.
They can only transfer the required equivalent in USD or Euros, NOK isn't really used in Nigeria.

Not exactly. I did my transfer in two tranches. The first on May 26, the second on June 3. I don't think the deadline is sacrosanct.

If I understand you well, you have a bsc here already but you want do something like a pre degree in Norway before even starting ur bsc there. Isn't that a bit condescending?
Well, do your research very well(no one would do that for you) and find what program suits you the most in the whole of Norway. You can check www.studyinnorway.no
People go more to Oslo, Trondheim, Stavanger, Bergen because they have the best Universities in the country and also because they are the largest cities with more vibrant economic activities which usually translates to more job opportunities, same way Lagos is to Nigeria.
I don't know much about Nordland and the University but you can always do ur online research to find out much more about what the city/region offers both academically and economically.
