Rates have to merge first.

Raising monthly spend limit on international POS to say 'common' $300 or $500 from the present $100 a month will capsize ab0ki market. And rates will converge, from whence we can now start finding the true value of the Naira.

The CBN gives Dollars to the banks at 315 while they're mandated to sell to Nigerians at 375; to BDCs at 381 who are mandated to sell at 399. Now that the black market has gone below BDC rate and is almost at Bank rates, shouldn't the CBN mandate Banks and BDCs to sell at much lower rates now...say 320 to further collapse the black market rate?
Because at same rates, black market will be the preferred destination again and demand from them will make them jack their rates up again.
Or do you think the CBN plans to further devalue the Naira to 375? If yes why devalue unnecessarily when there's no shock on our fx inflows at the moment.

I am so shocked that my alma mater can produce this high number of first class graduates.
So they finally grew sense many years after I left; allowed us to suffer and sleep overnight in class uncountable number of times, yet only one first class in my set in the whole Engineering. The one first class sef na because sey petroleum department dey very nice.
My cousin that was on 4.8 from year 1, na so dem fall in hand to 4.38 in final year as best mechanical graduating student. What makes it worse is that they boldly told us they'll fall our hands before we reach final year, especially the younger lecturers cos they fell their hands too.
God pass una sha. Men don blow with or without first class.

These are the kind of developments I follow at my spare time. Our youths should do so too instead of wasting away on frivolous issues like a yeyebrity buying new gold watch or taking new selfie.

With the current developments in major sectors like the agricultural sector and this Dangote refinery & petrochemical plant, Nigeria is definitely getting things right. This govt has really supported him with the much needed fx on this project.
We import just everything and produce almost nothing. And the PDP govts were very satisfied with wasting our precious fx to import toothpicks, rice, refined petroleum products, pencils, etc. *smh*
I see an improved Nigeria in the year 2020. All we need is some little patience to go through this rough road to becoming an exporting economy.

I remember when PMB was going to London to relax from the stressful campaign rigours just after winning the presidential election in April 2015. Diezani booked a flight ticket in the same British Airways cos she got information PMB was going to be on that flight. It was reported that she tried her best to discuss with PMB to no avail. After reading that she offered to return a whopping N50b and PMB refused it. That was when I knew she must have looted possibly up to N100b.
Thankfully, we've successfully recovered $153m(N34b) cash and properties worth billions of Naira have been traced to her.

Another silent thief people don't talk about is Adoke. I've always said and insisted that Adoke is likely the biggest thief in the free loot for all in Jonathan's govt. Time will tell on him sooner than later.

1.Kindly advise me if I can also apply for my wife (no kids yet) to accompany me to Norway once granted admission. (pls note: I already have equivalent of NOK103,950 for living expenses in my Nigerian account)

2.What's the pay like for part time jobs on the average in Norway as a student.

3. Kindly confirm if it's true that you need to have NOK 238k in your account to apply for a job search visa in Norway once your are done with your masters.

4.Did you have to do medicals or get police clearance to apply for Norwegian visa.

5. What's the possibility of applying for PR in Norway after my MSc programme or wld you advise applying for another masters just to extend my stay there.

1. You can apply for your wife as well, but her visa will most likely be approved after you have arrived Norway.
2. Get the job first. Any job at all in Norway pays well enough to live fine.
3. True. I already said so earlier. Check udi.no for more.
4. No need for any of those, visa application is very straightforward. Submit required documents as seen on udi.no with no mistake and go home.
5. I answered that question recently, check previous pages. Anyhow you choose to stay back is possible. The choice is yours, just have the supporting funds.
6. You can immigrate to those countries even from Nigeria, people do it steady. Though some opine it's easier from a developed country.

Over here people don't stand in trains cos' the available trains and buses are more than the sizable population.

Word. I studied in Norway and moved to Sweden upon graduation as the swedes are more liberal and has less stringent immigration policy. Also the Swedish economy is more comprehensive than Norway's. Norway is richer though

So how did you port to Sweden, further studies? Cos that looks like the easiest way.

Strange question. It's too complicated to answer. It all depends on what your plans of staying here are, and I'm not in your mind to know your almost every plan, things you plan to spend on/shopping, accommodation plans for 3wks. Can't help you plan your expenses so I'm surprised at the question.
Just have more than enough money cos Norway is an expensive country. Google can easily tell you that.

I would easily recommend Germany ahead of Norway.
Germany is the heart of the European economy largely built on manufacturing, while Norway is an oil based economy with little or no manufacturing sector. This means a form of 'employment recession' during bad times such as now when oil prices are low. It gets so bad that even part time jobs are very difficult to get during the lows. Stavanger is the oil capital of Norway so that should tell you it's highly affected too. Let me take this chance to advise people not to borrow money to come hoping to easily pick up a job. As it stands, there's a high probability you'll be miserable after returning d loan. Several examples abound here.

For certificate recognition, each country recognises its own certificates first before that of other countries provided the jobs are available. Norway particularly gives preference to their graduates here.

Germany gives 18 months post study visa while Norway now gives 1yr with stringent conditions I already told you before.
So that should easily inform your choice.

It used to be 6 months after graduation. But from 2016 it was changed to 1yr without any possibility of further extension.
The only problem with the current 1yr extension is that you'll need to show you have up to 238k NOK (your money,not borrowed) to apply for the job seekers permit.

As a young passionate Nigerian who desperately wanted a break from the status-quo of corruption and misrule that the PDP delivered to Nigerians for 16 years, I greatly supported the ascension of Buhari and the APC into power. Given the very limited options we had, Buhari was, and, is still a better option than the very corrupt government run by former President Jonathan characterized by massive competitive looting of the treasury. Though, given a free hand to pick a president, Fashola remains my undisputed natural choice for Nigeria's top job. Except that Nigeria is Nigeria, where the best materials (not necessarily saints) don't get to deserved positions most of the time for ethnic religious a regional reasons. This is a story for another time.

Having followed every step of this government since it's inception, It's hightime I bore my mind especially in areas where this government has got it wrong. Necessity is laid upon me after over 1 year and 6 months of Buhari as president to call a spade a spade as I can't watch what looks like a golden opportunity for Nigeria to get it right just slip away. There's so much anger in the land if you must know Mr. President. This I can say with a 90% degree of confidence.

Firstly, I must give kudos to this government for its courage in fighting corruption and recovering looted funds from those who abused public offices through personal enrichment. Many have called it a one-sided fight, but one thing is clear, at least there's an anti-corruption war going on at the moment. If the PDP governments had done similar "one-sided fight against corruption", perhaps the equations would have been balanced by now, and Nigeria will be the overall winner in this.

But I must say that this fight against corruption alone won't put food on the table of Nigerians. What is happening to the Economy? Where are the fiscal policies to back up the monetary policies from the CBN? Is the government still relying on blame games to solve the economic mess it inherited? For how long more? Everyone says this government lacks knowledge about what to do on the economy and sadly I'm tempted to agree. You really have to prove us wrong Mr. President. Your integrity is commendable but Nigerians won't eat integrity. It's not edible!

Another thing that really bothers me is the slow pace at which your government is progressing. Who says speed cannot be combined with order? Look at the budgets for example. After it took till May this year to pass and sign a budget, one would have thought the lessons had been learned going forward. But what do we have? You are just submitting the 2017 budget in mid-December 2016 which maybe signed into law in April, MTEF is still an unresolved issue as well. Sorry I have to refer to Fashola again Mr. President. As governor of Lagos, he signed all of his budget either in December or January, hence implementations of up to 85% were achieved most times. What we have now as it affect budget cycles is really sickening! There's just 2017 and little of 2018 (year of politicking and primaries) left for you to really make an impact and it feels like you came in as president barely 6 months ago.

Look at the UAE for example built in just about 20 years. We should be in a hurry to fix things in Nigeria, not wasting precious time travelling around the world. To me, Mr President is acting like 4 years is forever! It's just around the corner so you have to increase your pace of governance. Except the rigours of office is too much for you at this age, then you should be willing to hand over to a fast-paced hard worker like Fashola or any other reliable person (If the APC and Nigerians pemit at the polls). In a country like Nigeria where everything waits for Mr. President's approval, your pace should be far ahead of the ministers and heads of agencies and not vice-versa.

The dearest issue to my heart amongst all right now is the terrible way Mr President mishandled the Tompolo corruption saga in February this year, which to the best of my knowledge and to those who can put one and two together, culminated into the unfortunate pipeline vandalism that has rocked the Niger-Delta. I remember telling people around me then in February this year, that if this government really wants to progress, President Buhari should just let Tompolo be and move forward to tackle governance. I said this not because anyone should be above the law in Nigeria, but simply because the Tompolo I know as Niger-Deltan is a lot of trouble!. Not every issue requires a stubborn or military approach to solve. Apply diplomacy sometimes!. 

How can you chase Tompolo in the creeks where you may never find him just for a few billions to the detriment of the many billions of dollars of crude oil in the pipelines, millions of cubic ft of gas that are supposed to run the power plants around the country, and a risk of zero supply of crude to the newly revamped refineries? What are the results of the futile Tompolo chase; no money to run the ambitious 2016 budget, no gas for the power plants and consequently darkness prevails all over the place except in Aso rock. President Buhari, please drop your high ego and let this go as you almost can't win a man who is so sophisticated to destroy subsea pipelines several KMs below. How much more the series of pipelines passing around the Delta communities onshore? 

Your singular 'stubborn' action has annulled: all the brilliant efforts of Kachikwu to fix the aged refineries, Fashola's efforts in increasing the power transmission capacity to about 6000MW in a very short duration as there's no gas for power generation, and has led to the whopping request for $30b loan that your government seeks to borrow due to reduced earnings from crude sales. Power supply greatly improved between June 2015 and February 2016 due to more gas supply from the gas companies. All that just disappeared! My major concern in all of this is that, majority of Nigerians don't know and don't care to know why there's no power supply, they just want to have it! What will you tell them in 2019 after putting up billboards in 2015 saying, "Because we need reliable Electricity, Vote Buhari"? That you were chasing Tompolo for 4 years? That's simply story for the gods. You have to lose some to win some in this matter.


Let me end by saying kudos on the great fight against Bokoharam and on the silent rice revolution. Quite some projects are going on especially in the agricultural, works and power sector, and the government has to let the masses know that it's not doing nothing on infrastructure.

For your transcript, you can send a colored photocopy alongside your parceled documents, that's what i used (I had a student copy). The copy actually looked the same as the original copy sef. Though I still went ahead to send my transcript directly from my school as I didn't want to take chances of being denied cos of that, as the instruction is to send directly from ur issuing institution. Besides, I wasn't sure if my school was going to send it before the deadline.#LazyCivilServants. The choice is yours on that.
For your bank statement, I'm sure it cost just N50 to get another bank statement if you need one, so why not send original. Besides you can scan and keep it so you easily print it out if you need it later.
I have said it repeatedly that you don't need English testing for most schools here, UiS inclusive. Just a C6 in ur waec is enough. I already had a toefl score of 100 before finally deciding for Norway but I didn't use it as it adds absolutely nothing to ur application

U misunderstood the proposed amendment. Siting your example, if an accord party candidate died before election or announcement of result, Accord party will be given 14days to run a fresh primary within itself and INEC will continue the electoral process within 21days. The election will not be null and void simply because an Accord candidate died before announcement of result.


BTW: The clause 3(c) is a subtle way of bringing us back to the past. How could they make such amendment. this means the politicians can still rig the election like they have always done in the past. This clause downsized the importance of the card reader and hence makes it unimportant as well as creates room for the old method of rigging elections coming back. PLEASE REMOVE CLAUSE 3(c). It is against the progress of democracy and the positive usage of the card readers.

So I thought too till I read it well. It says INEC will suspend for 21days for a new election. That's Bullshit. Just as the manual accreditation is also Bullshit. We should be working towards electronic voting by 2023, not just electronic accreditation. Now these Senate guys are drawing us 5yrs backwards. Besides, the Supreme Court already ruled on it (Kogi), which already sets a precedence for parties going forward.
