Fact is SA has by far the most advanced infrastructure in Africa and this is courtesy of past white rulership whether they agree or not.
One can see how governance in SA has been getting worse in just over two decades of blacks ruling.
Corruption, crime, unemployment have all been on the increase in SA with black governance while they blame foreigners for "taking their jobs".

There has to be some genetic connection with the typical black man and corruption. Development in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, etc. is at this dismal level simply because of Corruption. And SA would have been no different if the black man was in control just like the rest of black Africa.

That's why I tell my Nigerian people to always vote for the least corrupt candidates in any elections, as that's the only way this country can experience real development.
Personally, I'll always employ a honest person with little skills in my business than a skillful thief.

There are ongoing projects in all the states of the federation. Like the Gbongan - Iwo Road, Obafemi Awolowo University IPP that'll provide uninterrupted electricity to the school, etc.

However, only the major infrastructural projects will be considered in this post. Some are ongoing while some have been completed.

Buhari's Administration Projects in South East Nigeria:

1. Rehabilitation of Sections 1 to 4 of the Enugu — Port Harcourt Expressway (Sukuk Bond) (ongoing)

8. Completed Ikot Ekpene — Alaoji — Ugwuaji Switching Station and Transmission Line

9. Construction of Modern Medical Diagnostic Centre at the Federal Medical Centre, Umuahia (FMCU) (ongoing)

10. Completed Nnamdi Azikiwe Mausoleum (contract originally awarded in 1996, abandoned at various times, Buhari Administration revived the project in 2016, and completed it in 2018).

11. Enyimba City Special Economic Zone: Definitive Agreements signed between Federal Government, Abia State Government and Enyimba City Development Company Limited on December 7, 2018


12. Presidential Fertilizer Initiative — has led to the revival of the Ebonyi State Fertiliser and Chemical Company Limited (EFCCL), creating jobs and boosting the supply of fertilizer in the Southeast.

13. Social Investment Programme: 68,000 N-Power Beneficiaries across the 5 States of the South East; the School Feeding Programme has kicked off in all 5 States of the Southeast.

14. Pensions paid to Retired War-Affected (Ex-Biafran) Police: In 2017, the Buhari Administration paid 500 million Naira to clear pensions arrears that had not been paid since their presidential pardon in 2000.

What's up with mile 2 - badagry expressway?

The Marina - Okoko axis was ceded to Lagos state government where the light rail and ten lane expansion are being constructed.
However, from Okoko to Seme border is still under the Federal government and FEC approved the contract for construction late last year. I don't know if actual construction has started by now.

Feel free to add any major projects in the South West not mentioned above.

Meanwhile, if Projects Dumping Party, PDP (ever) finds it way back into office to gain access to our national treasury again, that's my final goodbye to Nigeria.

As a firm enthusiast in the development of the country, I'll be posting a series of critical infrastructural projects with some pictures of both ongoing and completed projects across the six geopolitical zones of Nigeria, starting from the South West.

Some of the projects were inherited from previous administrations while some were initiated by this government.

Buhari Administration Projects in South West Nigeria:

1. Rehabilitation and Expansion of Lagos-Ibadan Expressway: The project is now being funded by the Presidential Infrastructure Development Fund (PIDF) established by President Buhari in 2018 to fund critical infrastructure projects (ongoing)

4. Reconstruction of Apapa — TinCan — Mile 2 — Oshodi- Oworonshoki Expressway (commenced November 2018) . This is the first full reconstruction of the Road since it was first constructed in the 1970s. (ongoing)

5. Dualisation of Oyo-Ogbomosho road (funded by the N100 billion Sukuk Bond issued by the Federal Government in 2017) (ongoing)

6. Rehabilitation of Lagos-Otta-Abeokuta Road (ongoing)

7. Rehabilitation of Ikorodu-Sagamu Road (ongoing)

8. Construction of US$10 million Cancer Treatment Center at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) (ongoing)

9. A $21 million project funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) — will stabilize power supply to more than 200,000 people in and around Apapa in Lagos State. The contract was signed between the Japanese and Nigerian Governments in November 2018.

10. Energizing Economies Programme — Electrification of Sura Shopping Complex (1,000 shops), Shomolu Printing Community (4,000 shops), Gbagi Market, Oyo (7,872 shops), Ita-Osun Market, Ogun (2,814 shops), Nnamdi Azikiwe Market, Lagos (3,091 shops), Balogun Market, Lagos (1,662 shops), Iponri Market, Lagos (1,305 shops), UMBC, Oyo (700 shops), Isikan Market, Ondo (277 shops), Bariga Market, Lagos (390 shops), Erinwe, Ogun (1,280 fish ponds) (ongoing)

Good governance and critical infrastructure should always be your rewards for voting. Sadly, Nigerians are too sentimental about trivial issues like tribe and religion especially when politics is concerned.
All those ethnic champions always looking out whether their tribesmen gets political appointments or not (especially those who didn't vote the govt into office), please how do such appointments increase your bank accounts in any possible way

When we were working directly under the NNPC, our salaries were constant and we worked under good condition.

You should expect more of these kinds of baseless accusations. Which media organisation have they not accused in recent times? Channels TV, Punch, Sahara, etc. are all biased. Only AIT own and run by a PDP chieftain isn't.
Those who support PDP already perceive their election defeat so all they can do is go about accusing every media outlet of supporting APC.

Exactly. ASUU has become a very useless body and a thorn in the flesh of Nigerians, wasting precious time of Nigerian students.

Imagine ASUU demanding N3trillion funding in 2009 for Universities alone (excluding primary and secondary schools, polytechnics, etc.), when the federal budget for the same year was N3trillion. Then another N1.3trillion agreement in 2013.
So govt should abandon all sectors and salaries of workers to improve universities only.
They embark on long, needless strike actions and govt is coerced into making agreements just to end the strike, then they later accuse govt of not fulfilling near impossible agreements.

ASUU or whatever you call yourselves...Can Nigerian universities develop faster than the country? Should we abandon roads, rails, electricity, etc. for university funding alone so that ASUU members can die on bad roads?

Absence of development simply means corruption/looting has taken place.

I can't remember successive PDP governments completing and commissioning major infrastructural projects badly needed to industrialise this country. So you can imagine for yourself how massive the looting was under them.

Nigeria must develop whether the looters and their supporters like it or not.

The good thing about 2019 election is that both APC and PDP have their records, one for 3.5yrs and the other for 16yrs.
While the other parties are allowed to campaign based on promises, Nigerians must hold the APC and PDP accountable for how they handled public resources during their time in office, and vote based on that alone.
Not empty promises from those who did nothing when they had their time to fix things.

Someone tell PDP that using different blogs to hype the party, its candidates and spread their propaganda won't win them elections in 2019.
The more they have done this, the more elections they have lost between June 2015 - Till Date.

The TraderMoni scheme which the Federal Government embarked on weeks ago, has been enmeshed in Fraud allegations and illegal deductions. 

While it is alleged that the TraderMoni scheme is a collateral-free loan targeted at petty traders and artisans, it has been enmeshed in Fraud allegations, illegal deductions. The scheme is cordinated by the Bank of Industry and the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme, a unit in the Office of the Vice President, have six months to repay the loan with flexible options of N85 daily or N430 weekly.

Beneficiaries who receive an initial loan of N10,000, will qualify to obtain further loans of N15,000, N20,000 and N50,000, if they don’t default in repaying the facility.

However Punch gathered that a graduate of Food Science from the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, Daramola who ventured into petty trading, after quitting his previous job, had his hope crashed after he only got the sum of N8,000 – N2,000 less than the amount promised by the Federal Government. 

The petty trader who expressed worries over how he would still be expected to repay N10,000, according to the requirements of the scheme, wrote via his Twitter handle @DaramolaMike22; 

“So I received the #TraderMoni by #FG today, but to my surprise, the officials gave out N8,000 instead of N10,000 which means they deducted N2,000 each from everyone who got the money. How do we make Nigeria work with such acts? @DrJoeAbah, @ProfOsinbajo, @segalink, @feladurotoye.”



It was gathered that he is not the only victim of the deduction. Agents who came to the market to disburse the loan to beneficiaries, initially collected N2,000 cash from each beneficiary before transferring N10,000 to their bank accounts. But later, they stopped collecting N2,000 cash from beneficiaries and transferred just the sum of N8,000 to them.

Cash transfers were made through the Eyowo app, which enables users to send or receive money and make other transactions with their phone number, with or without a bank account. Speaking to Punch correspodent, Daramola said; 

“What happened was that their agents came to the market to sensitise traders about the scheme. That was how I got to know about it. Actually, I know the initial loan of N10,000 cannot do much for my business, but my target was to be able to repay the loan on schedule so as to qualify for the larger loans, which will help me to grow my business.

“The agents took our names and phone numbers and told us that we would get a message from them if we were successful.

“After about two months, I got a message that I had qualified to receive the loan. Many other traders in the market (Sabo market, Ikorodu) also got the same message.

“When the agents came to pay us the money, they asked us to show the message they sent to us before we could receive the money.

“We already knew it was N10,000 because that was what they told us when they came to sensitise us about the TraderMoni scheme and we had also heard in the news that that was the amount the government was giving out as loan to petty traders, so we were expecting N10,000.

“Initially, when the agents want to pay people, before they transfer N10,000 to anybody, they will first collect N2,000 cash from the beneficiary. They were collecting N2,000 cash before transferring N10,000, which means what they were giving out to beneficiaries in the market was N8,000.

“But after doing that for the first two days they came to disburse the loans, they stopped collecting N2,000 cash and instead just transferred N8,000 to the beneficiaries.”

Several other traders in Sabo market corroborated Daramola’s account, and further stated that no explanation was given for the deduction of N2,000 from the loan; meanwhile, they are still expected to repay N10,000.

Further checks by our correspondent revealed that similar deductions were recorded among beneficiaries in some other markets in Lagos, particularly in the Mushin and Oyingbo areas. In both areas, it was alleged that some traders who were ‘sponsored’ or ‘brought into the scheme’ by the market leaders received even less than N8,000, in cash from the said market leaders, who reportedly received the loans from the agents on behalf of the beneficiaries.

Efforts to track down the said agents, who disbursed N8,000 instead of N10,000 to beneficiaries at Sabo market and other areas, were not successful. The traders who were affected by the development told our correspondent that they didn’t have the contacts of the concerned agents.

I can really imagine what you're going through and I must say that I really admire your fighting spirit. This brings lots of memories.

I lost my dad to this same situation some years ago, the same month I finished service and started working.
Health care in Nigeria is a disaster. Govt and private hospitals had no clue for over a month regarding his diagnosis. While I was busy trying to settle into my first job.

When the hospitals couldn't help, I had to interview my dad and used the Internet to find out it was kidney problems.
I googled and took him to St Nicholas hospital at Lagos Island and he was admitted for 3days. With dialysis, the bill was 430k. I emptied my account and got help from neighbours and relatives.
The useless hospital didn't explain anything regarding the functional state of his kidney, like if it was back to normal or not.
They just said he's now fine and discharged him. At least something like.... He needs continuous dialysis or a transplant or his kidney is now better... would have helped.
Because I had limited medical knowledge, I took their word.

I took him home and was sent on a field assignment two days after. I had to go make money because I didn't know to ask people for money. Older siblings were jobless after flexing during undergraduate and ended up with poor results.

While away, it started again and my brother called to give me the bad news.

Bro, the dilemma you face is between spending money on keeping your mum alive with continuous dialysis and doing the kidney transplant once and for all. You need huge donation(s) at once as little stipends you receive will likely be spent on the former.
